    As noted in #2, above, the last step is to file your request to remove/delete/cancel your Skype account directly with Skype Customer Service. Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
    If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service or find yourself redirected back to the Community, please try again using a different web browser and choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented.
    Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also block reaching an agent.
    Last and not least, when you reach the last step of the process, remember to click on the "Start Chat" link when you are provided the choice of visiting the Community or starting an instant message chat with a customer service agent.

  • Please delete two Skype Accounts.

    Would it be possible to delete two accounts for me? I don't use them anymore and my friends constantly contact them thinking I still use those accounts. These accounts are "[Removed by moderator]" and "[Removed by moderator]" thank you.

           I am unable to download Skype to my desktop or make any use of my subscription.  Please terminate my Skype account and refund to Paypal all funds I have paid, which are €117.16 for unlimited 12 months calls and a total of €23 for Skype credit.

    I'm really sorry to hear that you are having trouble using your Unlimited World subscription.
    If you can provide us with more info about the download problem then I'm sure we can figure out a solution. We can always leave refund as the last resort.
    Could you please bear with me and try these steps:
    1) Go to www.skype.com/go/downloading
    2) Download should be started automatically and if you are using for example internet explorer then you should get an option to Run installation.
    3) Once you have Skype installed it should automatically open and you will be asked to sign in or create a new account.
    If you get any errors, could you make a screenshot or write down the error message. The more info we have about the issue the easier it is to help you.

  • How Do I Close My Skype Account?

    Dear Readers,
    This question is asked a lot here in the Community, particularly on this message board.  Perhaps this topic added here will be helpful.   This FAQ article explains the process of how to remove your Skype account (the blue type is actually a "link" to the FAQ article): https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA142/how-do-i-close-my-skype-account
    First, remember to cancel all active subscriptions. If you think you might be entitled to a refund, please see this FAQ to determine this:  https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA12147/when-can-i-get-a-refund?
    Second, remove any saved payment methods from your account dashboard.  
    Third, remember to change the account status or presence setting to "offline."  For your convenience, an abridged version of the FAQ article's text - specific only to removing a Skype account - is copied and pasted below:
    How do I close my Skype account?
    If you want to close your Skype account, you’ll need to contact us so we can close it for you.
    First, make sure you’ve cancelled any subscriptions or recurring payments, and used up any Skype Credit you have. Everything associated with your Skype account – including contacts, purchases and history – will be lost when your account is closed.
    Next, contact Skype Customer Service and tell us you’d like to close your account.
    It might take up to 30 days for your name to disappear from the directory, but after that, no one will be able to find you in Skype. Your name will still appear in your friends’ contact lists unless they remove it, but they won’t be able to contact you.
    In the meantime, you can remove your personal information from your profile to prevent people from finding you based on those details.
    Remove your profile information
    This will make it more difficult for people to find you in the Skype directory. You can remove or edit all of your details except for your Skype Name.
    To remove your profile information:
    Change your profile picture and mood message.
    If you have a profile picture that identifies you, you might want to change it. In Skype, click Skype > Profile > Change Your Picture… (on a Mac, click your profile picture and then Change Picture) and browse for a different picture.
    You can leave a status message saying you’re no longer active on Skype, or giving your new Skype Name if you’re using a different account. Go to Skype > Profile > Edit Your Profile… and then click Enter mood message. (On a Mac, click your name or profile picture and then click Add Mood Message.)
    Sign out of Skype.
    It’s a good idea to set your status to offline or invisible, and then sign out of Skype on all your devices. Type the chat command /remotelogout into the chat window to sign yourself out of Skype on any other devices you might be using, then sign out on the one you’re using now.
    Go to your account.
    Sign in to your account on skype.com
    Can’t sign in? Find out what to do if you’ve forgotten your username or password.
    Go to your profile.
    Scroll to the bottom of the page and, under Settings and preferences, click Edit profile.
    Edit your profile details.
    In the Personal Information section, click Edit.
    Remove your information from the Personal Information and Contact Details sections. Some fields are mandatory - replace the info in these with random characters, because you won’t be able to save it if the fields are empty. Click Save.
     Please remember this is a one-time request which cannot be reversed. 
    One more point to keep in mind: removing your account from the Search Directory will not "pull," "remove," "delete," or "retract" instant messages or file transfers that you have previously sent to your contacts.  Your account name will still appear on their contact lists, although they will no longer be able to contact you using the account name you have requested be removed.
    The last step of the process is to file your request to remove your account with Skype Customer Service.   This final and required step in the process is often overlooked, and we here in the Community are not authorized to process service requests.  Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
    Skype is aware of sporadic website issues.  Temporarily enabling scripts, disabling browser add-ins that might disable pop-up dialog boxes, and temporarily enabling pop-up dialog boxes may help get you through to Skype Customer Service.  If you still experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service or find yourself redirected back to the Community, please try again using a different web browser.

  • Two Freetalks, two numbers, one Skype Account

    I have two freetalk 1200's, one in my home and one in our vacation home.  I also have two Skype numbers.  I'd like one Skype number to be associated (exclusivily) with the home Freetalk and the other number associated (exclusivily) with the vacation home.  To be clear I don't want them to ever BOTH ring when one number is called.  This is b/c we sometimes rent out the vacation home.  
    The Freetalk setup only allows you to associate it with a Skype account.  Both houses phones ring when either number is dialed.  Is the only solution to have two Skype accounts?  That would suck b/c it looks like if i cancel one of the numbers Skype is keeping the $30 i paid for it.

    Unfortunately that would be your only solution.  If you want the device to act like a separate line, you have to have a separate line.  In this case, that would mean a separate account.  Purchasing a second number for 1 account means you actually want it to do exactly what it is doing.

  • Cancelling my skype number

    I took a subscription for a skype number in June, thinking it was only for three months. I no longer need it but discover I have just been billed for the coming three months, even though I will not need it or be using it. I can find no way to communicate this problem with Skype folks. Help, please!

    You also need to cancel the Skype Number subscription from your account dashboard (Manage Subscriptions).  If you cannot do this, then please contact Skype customer service who can cancel the subscription.

  • Two Skype Accounts; Can They be Merged?

    I have two skype accounts, one I set up and could not use, but it has credit. The other is current, and I would like to merge them, or transfer the balance from one to the other, so i can use the pending credit. Does anyone know how to do this? Is there real tech support for skype, or just user community? Also, I Just got a recharge, (when credit falls below a certian amout, skpe can automomatically recharge your balance, and charge you) but I'm SURE I didn't sign up for this. I've de selected this option after being charged $10, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience.

    I arranged to transfer your post to the Skype Account: Rates & Subscriptions message board as it did not quite fit where you had added it.
    Skype does not permit any credit, features, or subscriptions to be transferred from one account to another.  Likewise, Skype accounts can not be "merged" to create one new account, and neither can one Skype account be merged or folded into another.
    You would need to request a refund of credit you do not need from the account where you no longer need it, and purchase new credit for the account where you will use it.
    For subscriptions and call features, you would need to cancel the subscriptions on the account you will not be using, and purchase new subscriptions for the account where you would use the subscription or feature.
    Credit tops up automatically by default; if you do not wish to use this facility, you will need to disable it within your account details.  Check your account settings just one more time ...

    You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started. When you complete the webform and click Submit, your information is relayed to Skype and you will receive a reply via e-mail.

  • How to cancel premium, no account or password

    my kid didn't manage to cancel the free trial on time (on her iphone), its gone to premium now. She does not have any account details or password so she cannot log in, cannot get the subscription page open on her phone, we are so stuck, if there is a phone number I can call, please help

    I can see that we have canceled your Premium Subscription and we have converted the rest of your subscription (the days you have not used) in Skype Credit Please note that you don't need to cancel your subscription to stop being charged ; the subscription will not auto-renew, and no further payment will be taken.   • Unauthorized use of Skype account

    I'm not an active Skype user, as such my account has been in a sleeping state for years. Until about a month ago I suddenly got multiple payments on Paypal from my Skype account, and started receiving a lot of e-mails from an apparantly chinese Skype mail adress.
    The Paypal payments have been blocked and refunded but the e-mails continue and after logging in to my Skype account I found out there have been multiple calls to Macedonia and Marocco as wel as a lot of messages tot foreign (mostly US and Russian numbers).
    How do I resolve this or preferably just completely remove the Skype account since I don't use it myself and only run the risk of hackers&piracy.

    In addition to the above, please permit me to point out that the first step ought to be signing on to your account and removing any saved payment methods.  Report these fraudulent purchases to Skype Customer Service; you may do so at the same time you contact Skype Customer Service to request your account be removed.
    Also remember to sign on to your PayPal account and cancel what is called the "payment agreement" with Skype.
    Ensure the registered e-mail addresses for your Skype and PayPal accounts are correct and still working, and then change both account passwords.

    I am not sure if you are referring to a Skype Manager account, as this is the message board on which you posted your enquiry,  or a personal account.  In either case, please contact Skype Customer Service directly via their secure portal: contact customer service  
    We here in the Community do not have access to Skype account records, and as such, all account-related matters must be addressed by Skype Customer Service.
