Cancellation Fee for Smart Phone

I am curious, what is the Cancellation Fee for a Smart Phone? In particular a Droid Incredible 2.
Also would the amount of the Cancellation Fee Matter if the End date was say less than a month away? Its end date is 9/13/2013 which is 5 weeks away.
I am basically wondering if it would be cheaper to just wait until then and pay one more month of the bill on it cancel it right now. The reason I am going to cancel this one phone from our plan,is because we got a new smart phone for my sister, through Verizion again, on its separate plan. She needed a new phone because here old phone was broken and it was a replacement already. Also we found out it would be cheaper for us if she had here own new plan then to continue here plan on our current family plan. Sound strange but is the case. Anyways I am curious as to what the cost is if I remove the phone early.

The Upgrade would actually cost here a little more than the deal for the new phone with a contract. Strange isn't it? But that is what it turned out to be when they went into the Verizon Store. Maybe the Staff at that Verzion Store didn't give them all the options or something but that is what they laid out for them when they asked about there options.
Another issue with the Upgrade is locking in a different plan from our older original plan. Although I do not think that would have mattered for her phone, but it was a fear in our minds non the less. Now my Phone on the other hand matters a lot with an Upgarde for it. I have the original DroidX and on it I still have the Unlimited Data. If I were to ever upgrade they would remove the Unlimited Data. At least that is what everyone has been saying. So for me I will never upgrade my phone. I am really Anti Data-Cap. My smart phone would be useless with a cap of 5gb. I use way more than that every month.
You know our Family Plan right now that we have is actually around $300 a month. Regular charges and not going over anything. Crazy if you ask me. Having this one phone removed will only bring the bill down about $60 but I also am going to be removing my HotSpot soon as well when its contract ends. I know longer need it as I am back home and not away at that job out of state. That will be around another $60 as well. Then it will just be mine and my mothers phone. Hopefully we can work with that bill better. If not then my Mother might decide to just cancel the plan all together.
The fact that my mother might cancel the plan is the main reason why we decided to get my sister her own plan. She still needs the phone.
Anyways after reviewing our current bill and what it would cost with her phone removed and her separate bill, the total is a lot less in the long run. Specials of new contracts and all that.
Thanks you tow for the replies.

  • £30 cancellation fee for broadband.

I've been with BT for ages, decades actually and as I was moving in to a new house I decided to see if I could get a cheaper service.
Plusnet are £13.99 for line rental and £5.99 for 10 gig of broadband and free evening and weekend calls.
So not only have I been royally shafted all along but now they charge me £30 cancellation fee for my broadband.
If you are a moderator reading this please do not reply by saying it's in the contract, I don't care if it is - it's not how to treat a loyal customer who's spent probably 10's of thousands of pounds with your company over the years.
It is not in the spirit of good customer service to charge people to leave anything. That's known as EXTORTION and holding people to ransom.  This is a thinly veiled attempt to get people to say "Oh well, if it's £30 to leave I'll stay."
WRONG ! I'm off to plusnet and I'll be complaining to OFCOM  http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/tell-us/
and your customer services in writing.
I'll also ensure I tell everyone I know on facebook not to sign up with BT.

I'm afraid it's OFCOM who allowed them to introduce the charge in the first place, so you won't get far complaining to them.
"As a condition of our service, you must, when you end your broadband service request and use a migration authorisation code (MAC) or another recognised transfer process to move to another service provider. If in breach of this condition you do not do this you will have to pay a broadband cease charge of £30 by way of compensation to us. You will not have to pay this charge in the event you are moving home and we are unable to provide the service at the new UK address. For more information go to http://www.bt.com/ceasecharge. This charge is compensatory and is not subject to VAT."
I'm guessing you didn't get a MAC, or Plusnet didn't use it properly.

  • Re: Exporting Format For Smart Phones.

    Hello Everyone.
I have a Two minutes Intro animation originally done 1920 by 1080 30fps.
I would like to E-mail the Intro Animation to my friends, so they can watch it from their Smart Phone.
What is the best Export Settings to be compatible with most Smart Phones.
    Thanks.

I recommend using AME's Preset Browser to select the best preset for your purposes. That way you can use the PB's search/filter feature to limit the list to a more manageable number. Just type "phone" in the search box.
If you go this route, then when you initially export, don't worry about the format/preset because you'll be changing it in AME.
Or, if you'll be exporting a number of clips to the same preset, then better yet would be to start by selecting the preset in AME, make an alias to it (right-click>Create Alias), which make a copy in the User Presets and Groups section at the top of the PB. Then you can drag-n-drop  sequences from PPRO's Project panel to the alias in AME's Preset Browser. Thus bypassing the Export Settings dialog. This workflow supports dragging multiple sequences at once.
Also, if you want to export to multiple presets, you can collect them in a bin in the PB, then drop your sequences on the bin. Voila! AME's Queue will automatically create a "1:n" job--one source, multiple outputs. Not only do you save steps in the process, but when you encode, AME decodes just once for all the outputs, which can save a considerable chunk of time.
[Way more info than you may have use for, but I love the whole Preset Browser feature set and AME's ability to encode multiple outputs simultaneously, and my sense is that not many users know about them.]

  • How can I build Flash for Smart phone etc.

    Hi all,
Can I use a preexisting Flash file for a Smart phone, even though the size is different? Or do I have to recreate the file? What is the best dimension to use?
    Many thanks.

Yes, you can. Take a look at the new features in CS5.5 for cross-device authoring here. This includes resizeing entire FLA files for different screen sizes.

  • Eligible for smart phone "deal" - if replacing damaged smart phone already under 2 year contract?

Am I eligible for the promotional reduced price ("smart phone deal") for a pre-owned smartphone (requiring a "new" 2 year activation) --- if I am replacing a damaged smart phone that is 4 months into an existing 2 year contract?  I do not want to pay the deductible required to make a claim with Asurion for  my damaged Apple 5s.

You would not be, you would pay full retail price as you're not eligible to sign a new 2 year agreement until you complete your current contract.

  • Warranty claim $300 fee for damaged phone that was in perfect condition

they claim when i sent in my phone that was crashing and acting funny that when they received it the "charging port" was corroded.  So after hours on the phone fishing for answers and solutions to get this $300 charge off my account i was sent the pictures(which were 6 total  4 of the box that i sent it in. 1 of a sticker they printed up with my s/n # on it then the last picture of the top of a phone no proof or reason to believe its necessarily my phone) the picture was literally just of a port close up, and the funny thing is its not even a charging port its the **** hdmi port in the picture.  the 3 customer service reps i spoke to originally about this when it first happened all said if i send back the other newer one they sent me i "MAY" get the $300 credited off the account.  UHH MAY? UH NO.  i send them the phone then i don't get my credit then i'm out 2 devices and still owe these people $300 no thanks.  So then the last representative tells me shes filling a investigation into it to try and get it appealed and will call me back tomorrow. I asked really you are going to call me for real? she says yes and i guess you can figure yeah never any call back, surprise surprise.  Well i call back a week or so later which was this past Saturday and sat on the phone forever 3 hours arguing my case to reps, and managers.  Explaining how i may even be willing to pay something to make this junk be over with and make it go away and stop wasting my time.  I was offered ONLY because i'm a almost 10 year customer $40 whole dollars off their bogus fee.Quite a slap in the face.  When i first found out about the charge it was not anyone calling to let me know or texting me or emailing me or knocking on my door it was a surprise on the bill( which i consider a little messed up, call me let me know lets COMMUNICATE)   Keep in mind i could have easily sent the phone back when i was originally told too by 3 reps but chose not to because it wasn't for sure, in which on this past Saturdays call i found out from what the manager said i definitely would no chance of getting it credited off my bill just lost that phone.  So who is right? who is wrong?
Funny thing a few days before this bill came in and this all started the galaxy S5 went on sale.  So i upgraded both my lines to the new galaxy and they tacked the 2 phones cost onto my bill.  Needless to say i havent paid for any of it.  If i pay just my balance, and the phones cost they are still going to cut my service off soon im sure because of thier bogus $300 charge.
I have now posted on here filed a dispute with the B.B.B. &  F.C.C. ive sent an email to all the regional bosses, and executives and put in a few calls and messages to corporate headquarters.  Actual letters via the postal service are going out today.  Anyone been in this or a simalar situation please give me some feedback.

Take them to small claims court. They will call you and settle.
They have to prove it was your device, and prove you actually broke it.
    Good Luck

  • Cancel fee for Creative Cloud Subscription

I want to purchase the Creative Cloud subscription for my current iMac but have plans to purchase a new computer in about 7-8 months. What would the fee be for canceling my subscription and going Creative Cloud on my next computer?

You can use the one annual subscriptioin on two computers.
From the Adobe Creative Cloud FAQ here http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html:
On how many computers can I install the software I download from Creative Cloud?
You can install the desktop applications available in Creative Cloud on your primary computer and one backup computer, as long as they are not running at the same time. You will have access to both the Mac OS and Windows versions, so if you have a Mac at home and a PC at work, for instance, you can install your applications on both. See the product license agreements page for more information.

  • Fee for activating phone?

I am a verizon customer and was given a phone by a friend that they are no longer using, I checked and it can be used on verizon. Is there a fee to activate this phone?
Also I am eligible for an upgrade. I just don't have to time to phone right now and want to use this one until I do. If I choose to activate this phone from my friend will that take the place of my new every 2 upgrade?
    Thank you for your time.

If you are just using yoru friends phone to replace yours there will be no fee.  Only time you  get activation fee is when you open a brand new line of service.    Activating a custoemr provided device "such as one you got from a friend" does not change your upgrade date  you wills till be ell to get a phone whenever you want at the dioscounted price

  • Swip --the best gesture operation for smart phone...

After I use N9 for 5 days, I found that swip is better than IOS and much much better Andriod gesture. You do not need to press any key to come back to home screen as IOS does; You are easy to enter multi-task slide just with swip, which is much better than IOS to double press home key.
I love Meego, do you like it?
If you agree with me, pleae give me a cudos. Thanks.

I agree with you about swip is the best thing in N9 but the MeeGo OS has many comments like:
N9 not allows sending mms to email address?
Can't edit an email that in inbox when I want to forward it?
Can’t copy/cut email or any word/sentence in any email?
You can only paste the word/sentence once?
If I like a picture in website I can’t send it directly to any one unless I save it in my gallery?
Can’t copy text from website and forward?
    Can’t print?
battery taking 3 hours to charge the phone fully..?

  • Best smart phone for pre-paid?

What is the best smart phone available for Verizon Pre-Paid?  For example, if I buy a Galaxy S III (or an iPhone, or some other high-end smart phone) can I activate it on my current pre-paid plan?  I sent this question to Verizon support, but got no answer...  Thanks you for replies !!!

Backing up Ann154 on 3G devices supported on prepay, just a little more information to add.
Just a few devices that can be used on Prepay services:
    Iphone 4                 Samsung Illusion
    Iphone 4s               Samsung Reality
    Droid X                   LG Octane (New)
    Droid X2
    Droid 2
    Droid 3
There are quite a few more, if you find a device and would like verification i would contact Prepay at 888-294-6804.
Keep in mind with the Prepay services for Smart Phones, You would have the option to choose between 2 monthly plans:
60.00 Plan : Unlimited Talk and Text, Unlimited Text, 2GB of Data
70.00 Plan : Unlimited Talk and Text, Unlimited Text, 4GB of Data
The 60.00 and the 70.00 Plans have been revised to offer more data

  • Do I have to pay a cancellation fee?

I was wondering, before I get the iPhone, if I would have to pay a cancellation fee for porting over my current VZW #? I am currently using a family plan, and if I am the only one porting over the #, would I still have to pay a cancellation fee? Considering that my other family members are still using the VZW family plan.

    ryanboi056 wrote:
shh524, how long did it take to port over or activate your # from VZW on your iPhone?
I'm not shh524.. but to answer your question..it's different with everyone. It's known that Verizon does take a while to port a number over. I've heard it happens in minutes as well as 24-48 hrs. You will get a text message alerting you that you can now make and receive calls. During that period, I you can make calls from your iPhone, but have the possibility of receiving calls from your old phone. That, of course, is just temporary until your number is ported over completely.
