Candidate attachments

Hi All,
I have a question regarding Candidate attachments and questionnaires. My Customer has a requirement to append all Candidate attachments plus data from the Candidate overview smartform plus questionnaire information into one file.
However performance is an issue.
Does anyone have experience with a report that includes these data from the Candidate/application?
Doe anyone have comments on expected performance?

Erec - Attachments to an Application not a Candidate

Good afternoon
In e-recruitment we currently have 2 attachment types - PDR and Manual Application Form - which we have assigned to object type NA Candidate. This means that these attachments appear on every application a candidate makes.
We now have the need to have an attachment type assigned to a specific application ie: to object type ND Application. I have created Attachment Type Competency Assessment.
Under "Determine Use of Attachment Types" for Object Type ND I have assigned Competency Assessment to subtype 0001 Resume. Is this correct or should I have chosen another subtype?
However under "Identify Attachment Type as Resume" I am unable to select Object Type ND, there is only object type NA Should I assign it to NA here anyway as at the moment the option "Competency Assessment" is not appearing in the drop down list for Attachments on the application wizard.

Hello Dawn,
The attachment types in the application wizard are the ones from object type NA (subtpye 0001). The reason for this is that the data from the candidate profile is automatically defaulted in the application wizard and vice versa. So you don't have the possibility to define a particular attachment type only for applications.

Candidate Search - No Results from Attachments

I am trying to search for text from the attached documents during Candidate Search, but I get "No Data Available"
I have Created an External Application and attached a resume, but when I try to search using text from the resume it gives me "No Data Available"

Dear Mark,
If your TREX configuration is OK then check the status of the External Application, status should be active.
You can change the application status under TRM activities.

E-rec performance issues - Candidate Assignements tab is taking longer time

Hello,
We have some serious performance issues with candidate assignments in e-rec system. For the first time if you access a requisition with 60 candidates assigned, its taking more than 3 min to load. If you access again then its taking less than 30 sec.I understand this could be because of the memory cache. My questions are below.
1) Does it take more than 3 min to load 60 candidates your system?
2) Is there a way to improve performance with memory cache settings?
3) Are there any ideas to improve the performance of the candidates assignements page?
We are in e-rec EHP4 system.

Hi,
perhaps as an overall comment on this topic. There are performance issues in e-recruiting. There have been some improvements, Ryan named some of them. As the KW is one of the bottle necks changing to SES search may help as no more XML documents for indexing are stored which reduces the overall amount. In addition there is a note which splits the KW in a part used for indexing and a part for unstructured documents.
Unfortunately overall it are valueable improvements but the problems will not be fully solved even if applying all. The best solution is still having an eye on data groth. This leads together technical, business and legal issues. Many countries have restrictions on the duration you can keep the data. By deleting data in time you can heavily reduce data grotth. Furthermore check with the business responsible if 50 MB attachments for each candidate really contributes to the process and the hiring decision. I know HR departments who insist that every candidate uploads the last 3-4 school reports even if he is 20 years into his job. Is this really necessary? Same issue is with the number of candidacies on a requisition / application group. I have seen recruiters reusing the same requisition every six months when they need a new intern for a department and then complaining that the system is to slow with >1000 candidacies on the requisition. Of course it would be great if the application could handle this easily but as it is not this way using this system as it is meant can help a lot.

Data transfer position for candidate

Hi Experts,
We are implementing ECC 6, E Recruiting. When we do data transfer activity for a candidate then we want to pull the position on which data transfer activity was done for candidate in a Z Report.
Can any one tell me in which info type position is stored for a candidate at which data transfer activity is done or it is not stored at all any where in data base.

Generating dynamic Attachments between bpel process activities

Dear Experts,
Please suggest me that how to handle dynamic attachments in BPEL process with JDeveloper.
The requirement was need to send an attachment between activities in same BPEL process
and not sending an attachment through mail.
For Instance consider a scenario "Need to issue an appointment order(Activity3) for the candidate if he successfully completed his assigned task(Activity1) and selected(Activity2)".

Hi Rajesh,
That's a nice requirement without using the Notification services to send the attachments.
However, this can be achieved using the workflow service tasks as mentioned in : http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28981/workflow.htm#BABCAIEF
Using this you can assign, play with attachments via tasks. Hope this helps to some extent!

Safari 5 crashes with Yahoo Mail attachments

I just updated to Safari 5 and it crashes when I try to send a Yahoo email with attachment. My two other email accounts accept attachments with Safari but when I try to attach them in Yahoo, Safari freezes. Force Quit does not show that Safari is not responding but that's the only way I can close it. The type of file attached makes no difference -- text document, video or photo. Yahoo attachments work normally with Chrome. The other changes I made when updating Safari were those recommended in the June 5 Adobe security bulletin for Reader, Acrobat and Flash Player: I deleted the authplay.dll file in Reader/Acrobat and installed the 10.1 Release Candidate for Flash Player. (Also installed the 1.0 firmware update for the 27 inch display which should be irrelevant.) Yahoo Help only gives the duuuuh answer "Change browsers." Any suggestions?

E-Recruiting - Mass upload of Attachment/Resume of Candidates

Hi,
We already developed custom program to upload resumes/attachments of Candidates but still I want to check any standard approach is there to upload attachments.
We have transferred Candidates (about 20K) from legacy to E-Recruiting (6.0) i.e. Candidate u2018NAu2019 exists in the system. We want to upload the resumes of Candidates. Is there any standard way to do it?

Hello Naddy,
E-Recruiting offers no standard interface for bulk processing. Everything connected to mass creation of candidates, mass maintenance and also mass upload of attachments have to be developed on your own.
For any reason no such interface for data migration is provided. Although i have to admit that so far none of my projects decided to technically migrate old data so far. For recruiting the outcome us usually not seen beeing worth the effort you need.
So you will have to develop your own solution. But for attachments it is not so difficult. I implemented an interface for mass processing result documents of an extenal testtool to link them as attachments to the candidate. Just use cl_hrrcf_attachment_bl. It should provide most necessary functions.

How to export all the attachments from Oracle Apps R12?

Our configuration single node EBS R12.0.6, DB 10.2.0.3 & AIX 5.3.7. We are live with ERP since 2009. In our application/database instance, we have hundreds of attachments for the PO and iRecruitment candidates CV's etc. How can we analyze the details of the attachments like fnd_attached_documents table, etc?
Besides, we are planning to implement new document management system. Our management is interested to keep some/all of the uploaded ERP attachments into Document Management System repository. So, my question is how can we export all these attachments from ERP?

EREC: Qucik search functionality for locked profiles of candidates

Hi Experts,
Normally when a candidate register themselves in e-Recruiting application, they have two option to set their profile status i.e. 'Locked' and 'Released'.
Locked - Applicant is inactive or not looking for change. So when recruiter do a search, they won't see 'Locked' profiles.
But in our case, recruiters are able to see the Locked profiles. which is not correct.
Could you please let me know how it can be restricted. So that recruiters will not be able to see the locked candidate profiles.
Please suggest some hints.

Hello,
This is how the standard e-recruiting quick search works. It does not take into account the attachments of objects nor the candidate profile status. It searches for the structured free text data only and also searches for candidates with both released profiles and candidates with locked profiles.
If you want the recruiters to be able to search for released candidates then they have to use either the TRM search for candidates (Candidate Search service), the search for candidates in the context of a requisition (Search and Proposed Candidates link), and the search for candidates in the context of a talent group. These three searches take into account candidates with released profiles only.

Candidate Attachment Search

Hello,
I have upgraded the e-Recruiting system to EHP 4 with SES. When i do a free text search to search for candidates, the system does not display any extracts from the attachments of the candidates, although there are candidates whose attachments contain the search term.
I have checked with Note 1364736 - Snippets and "Count only" and everything is ok. I am not sure what else I can check to make sure the excerpts appear in the candidate search. If anyone has encountered this error before or you have an idea of the problem please help me.

well from which version did you upgrade your system?
Which TREX-Version do you have?
And which SPS for E-Rec EhP4 do you have?
I am asking, because the indexing mechanism has changed with EhP4 SP4 and TREX 7.10.18.0.
If you have an old index created in an EhP3 System using SES and you still use the old ones after upgrading, you should try to reindex.
With SP4 and the new TREX you do not need a KPRO index anymore. And I bet that the new indexing mechanism uses different attributes than before. So you should consider checking that and maybe reindex.

can you tell us the technology which you are using?
If it is BSP the coding decides the channel used for the seach based on th is_employee information. Here a wrong system behaviour could be caused by missing authorization on the employee object (P). In this case the application might not be able to read the P object which would let the internal candidate appear as external one. The application would change to the external application coding and show the external publication.
If it is Web Dynpro it points to a wrong application linked. The web dynpro application calls a certain inbound plug in the web dynpro component. If the wrong application is used the wrong plug would be supplied and the application could switch to the external publication. Same would happen if you entered the wrong plug in the in the startpage configuration.
Another thing which comes to my mind rading that it only effects some employees. Have you checked field IS_INACTIVE in HRP5102 for these employees?

Error while openng Attachments in E-Recruiting

Hi All,
We have a requirement in E-Rec to change the form for Internal and External Candidates.
These forms are re-designed after coping the same from the Standard form HRRCF_PUBLICATION_INT and EXT.
Now there is an additional requirement of displaying of Attachments in the form.
For the same we have put in the code using the
class - CL_HRRCF_REQUI_BL
and
method - GET_ATTACHMENTS
However, when we are executing the smartforms from the Portal. Form is getting displayed properly but the Attachments.
There is a link to attachments getting generated from the code in the class. Everything is perfect, however, when we click on the Link there is a dump resulting saying the link does not exists. After checking the link I am able to confirm that the link that is displayed in the smartforms for attachment is not the one that is being generated.
This is because the displayed link does not have any resemblance to the generated link.(Checked in Debugging mode).
I am really confused about the solution.
Can anyone please help on the same.

Hi,
I have a request to add a new tab to external candidate e-recruitment page .
In HRRCF_PROFILE bsp application i get the following tabs:
work experience,
education,
qualifications,
attachments,
desired job,
desired work location,
data overview,
profile release.
i need to add a new one with new related bsp page.
How can i do it?
Is there any way to do it without copy the whole bsp application to my namespace?

Hello Ronit,
the next steps are depending on the question if your new data has a 1:1 or a 1:n releation to the candiate so you need either just a screen like the personal data or an overview / detail screen solution like eduction and work expirience.
For some basic developmant hints. The controller class is the place to handle you custom data while the bsp is the place to display. Therefore you hav to create member attributes in the controller. Privat ones for keys and information you need for processing, public ones for everything you want to show the user, which includes fields (can be part of a structre), value table for dropdowns, messages, display control values like the is invalid information for the date fields.
For the implementation there are far more methods in the controllers than you actually use /change. The do_init method is the place to run static initializations, get otr labels and the value lists for dropdown fields. In the do_init_attributes (processed on each page display) you have to get the data when it is processed the first time for the candidate. Thjerefore you need an attribute for the key. If this is initial you get the key by using the code from the get_candidate method mentioned above and you read the data from your table there. The do_request method just calls the view, nothing special there.
The do_handle_data is used to take the user entered data into the controller. The do_handle_event should be implemented like the example (here it differs depending on the question above and if you need search helps on your view). The save_to_database is used to store the data. On_container_navigation is respondible for savng data on tab change. Last but not least the on_focus_lost method clears all information which is candidate dependent like the key and the data from your table so when the view is called for a new candidate and do_init_attributes is processed again it gets the candidate key and the matching data.
