Cann't create compound field

Dear,
    I used mdm import manager import the Main table,   I do follow mapping step:
     a)Map the field Info Record source field to Price Information [Purchasing Info Record ID] destination field.
     c) Map the field Purchasing Organization source field to Price Information [Purchasing Organization] destination field.
     d) Map the field Scale Value source field to Price Information [LowerBound] destination field.
when I Rightu2013click in the source hierarchy to the left on the source field Scale Value and choose the option Create Compound Field ,But the "Create Compound Field" is disable,Can you tell me why?

Hi Bill,
First of all make sure that in your Qualified table, you have all these three non-qualifier fields as Display field.
For creating a compound field, your all source field and values should be mapped with target fields Qualified table non-qualifier fields. Once it is done you need to select all these the source fields not only Scale Value.
Please select all these source fields Info Record, Purchasing Organization & Scale Value with the help keyboard Ctrl + A and then right click, it will show you enabled creation of Compound field.
Kindly revert with result.

Error creating compound field

I am trying to create a compound field Region which has two fields associated with it - country and region. I am using the DEBMDM06 idoc structure. I am trying to map LAND1 to the Country part of the Region field and REGIO to the region part of the Region field. When I right click in the Source Fields pane and select Create Compound field, I am able to select Region. But when I select it I get an error - 'Error creating compound field'
- 'Unable to retrieve source records'. What is causing this error?

I assume you are importing region look up flat for DEBMDM06.Considering that I cant understand why you want to have a compound field for region as it is supposed to be a look up flat.
To import look up flats:
1. Map the source fields to destination fields.
2. Map the values.
If at all you have redesigned your structure and made region as a qualified table, it is essential to map the individual non qualifiers first.
Once you have done that only then you will be allowed to form a compound field of your non qualifiers,make a clone of it and map the same followed by mapping the qualifiers.

Cannot Create Compound Field

When I attempt to create a compound field in an import map through import manager the field for which I want to create the compound field exists as an option but when I select it the application does not respond. The field is not created and nothing happens. Can someone point to some possible checks I should perform to resolve this issue?

Hi Cnsong,
As you have mentioned the compound field creation was available for creation but was not getting created.
So this means you have satisfied all the criteria for the compound field creation,cause if not it wouldn't have allowed you for creation.
Why dont you try with a simpler example wherein use a simple Access source for importing and perform all the steps correctly for Qualified importing as shown in the Blog link given.
If it still does not allow you to create the Compount field then this could be an issue with the MDM Support pack or hotfix version you are using.
If it does work then you are missing some step when working with the complex XML source.

Problem Regarding Creation of Compound field

Hi all,
I have a problem regarding creation of a compound source field.
My source field is say for eg. SF1 and SF2
Destination Field is a look up flat field say LF which has 2 display fields D1 and D2
I mapped SF1 to D1 and SF2 to D2
But when i right click at source and select 'Create compound field' for SF1 and SF2, the compound field is not created automatically.
Can anyone give me a hint as to why is this happening?

Hi Roshani,
Just check for couple of other things, like
1) I hope its not a qualified table and none of those fields are qualified.
2) None of the fields are ther currently in the matching set in the next tab.
3) You didnt map the main filed (look up table filed, which is there as a sub-table name)
4) There are no more display fields for that table.
I hope it should be one of the above issues. please check for them.

Is there a way to create a field for a contact that stores the total # of pages he has ever viewed? We'd like to use this as a bases for lead scoring.

Please don't use big red text. There's no need to do so - it won't be more attention and in fact may put people off of helping - and it's really difficult to read.

Create New Field - Package is null and non editable

7.0 when choosing the Create New Field in the UI, I get a window where the Package is empty and I can not edit it, the Namespace contains a Z and is not editable.
I select ORDERADM_I but when I select OK I get the message the Package is Required.
I am guessing I need to do something in EEWB? but not quite sure. I did find any other forum questions with this issue.

I assumed you are using Application Enhancement Tool.
The prerequesite to use Application Enhancement Tool is you have to maintain the system settings in transaction AXTSYS.
Here you can define a default value, which will be displayed in WebUI.

Hi,
There is no provision in WD for getting screen coordinates and then placing the UI element.
You to add the UI element to layout editor and based on the layout type it will add the UI element to respective position.
I would advice not to create dynamic UI elements( instead you can create them statically and then play with visibility status through context binding ). This will be more effective way and less error prone. This is also recommended practice.

How to set "Created By" field for KD Documents

In our system documents that are entered to the Knowledge Directory are not tagged with who it was that submitted them.
We would like to capture that information but I'm not sure how to enable it (or if its possible).
I've looked at the Global Property Map and don't see a setting for a document, I looked at the Global Document Map but that seems to specifically relay info between the documents meta data and portal properties (which is not what I'm looking to do).
Does anyone know how to attach the portal user in some type of "submitted/created by" field to a document?

Finally, I got an answer from OSS and the following is that.
The popup is shown when there are more than 10 variants exist.
If do not want to have this popup, you can modify the include
LSVARTOP in SE38:
C_VARILIST TYPE I VALUE '10' - maybe change value to '100'
or if you want to have the popup but without the name inside:
change include LSVARE01 and comment the line:
ename-low = sy-uname. append ename. "old
ename-low = sy-uname. append ename. "new
I believe this message might be able to solve my problem.

How to create new field while upgrading from CRM 4.0 to 7.0

How do we create new field on UI and store data into existing field in database?
Is there any option in AET to skip the creation of new field in the database table ?
Custom field is already created in GUI and database table while using CRM 4.0
Now, after upgrading to 7.0 EHP3 , I need to bring this field on the UI .
Using AET may create new field again in the database table.Please suggest.
New filed needed to be created in Marketing Campaign Element Header data.

Hi Jayasri,
As a custom fields are already there in crm 4.0. You don't need to use AET again to add field.
These enhancements still exist after the upgrade. Dependent on the enhancement object and type some manual steps are necessary.
For example regarding a single field enhancement for the BP the whole framework is enhanced after the upgrade. There is only one manual step to bring the field on the relevant view(s) via the UI Configuration Tool. For whole BP tables some more manual steps are necessary, these steps are described in the note 1069791 - CRM WebClient UI for EEW enhancements (reference to more notes regarding the EEW after the upgrade).
For set types, we need to generate UI With the help of the UI configuration tool the settypes could become visible in the Web UI.
I didn't understood your scenario, can add little more information why you want to add field by AET if available in DB?

Exporting to Excel causes compounded field to be divided

I have a report with compounded fields of plant and manager (ex. 3350/200). When I attempt to export to Excel, it is treated as a division and it displays 16.75 instead. I've changed a couple of settings under Tools/Options and Query Properties in both Excel and BEx query designer, but it does not change it. I also tried to export as CSV. This works, but not without doing a lot of manual manipulations to the file and I'm trying to come up with a clean process for my users. I have not found any info in the OSS Notes. Has anyone seen this issue, or has any suggestions of what else I can try? Thanks!

Try to download as CSV and open again in excel, i think it will work. Or
Format the perticular field as TEXT and try to down load.
Or in report try to replace the perticular charachter"/" with "_" and download.

I am trying to integrate SAP with a third party program. Sales orders are created by idocs but I want to differentiate the sales orders created by interface from the orders created in SAP directly. So I created a user id as RFCUSER. I want to show this in the sales order header sales view created by field (VBAK_ERNAM) How can it be automatically determined when a sales ordr created by an idoc. I can not send this information in the idocs as I see?

PD: the name of the author is the name of the user ID that run the reports that create the idocs and so on.
