Cannon Printer Pixma iP5200

Cannot access or see the Printer Setup Utility. I have installed the printer driver (6 times!) version 4.1.9. The printer prints fine but I have no access to printer queue or the Printer Setup Utility. I can’t see the maintenance page or the print test page etc. I have tried via Applications – Utilities, searching for it with Spotlight, and from System Preferences - Print and Fax – highlighting the printer and clicking Printer queue or Printer setup does not do anything.
I am new to the Mac world but about average in the PC.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks very much for your help. I had a look at “Pacifist”.
The idea is to find the Printer Setup Utility on the install DVD that came with the printer and drag it across to the Applications folder?
I can’t find a file on the DVD that looks as if it would be the correct one.
I’m not that familiar with the Mac yet to go down the Archive and Install option. What I have done is to install the printer to the Parallels desktop (Windows XP), the printer works fine with all options installed.
To be honest I was hoping for an easy solution, or that someone out there would have had the same problems with the iP5200 and would let me know how to fix it. Appreciate your help.

My new Cannon printer does not recognise Firefox

My new Cannon printer Pixma MG5200 prints web pages from Internet Explorer ok but when I use Firefox (always) it will not print and Firefox crashes. I am using Windows Vista with SP1
Have queried with Cannon and they say their Easy Web Print
application is only compatible with IE and printing from Firefox is not supported by Cannon.
Please advise if you have a way around this

How do I make my Cannon Printer MP250work with my new iMac?

Just bought the iMac, and I need to use my old Cannon printer. Plugged it in and the printer is not responding. Is this a device driver issue, software,etc.?

I visited Cannon, downloaded the driver/software for PIXMA MP250 but the printer will not respond when I click print.

I am unable to print PDF's using either Adobe Reader or Safari. In Adobe Reader, I get an error message from my Cannon printer that says, "/usr.libexec/cups/filter/pstocupsraster failed". In Safari, I can only print the first page of a PDF.

To try to resolve this problem, I have done the following actions.
1 - I have run Disk Warrior.
2 - I have repaired permissions.
3 - I have deleted all plist that are either Cannon or Adobe.
4 - I have downloaded and installed the lastest versions of Adobe Reader and the Cannon printer drivers.
I am still unable to print PDF's.
In Safari, I can print only the first page. In a multipage PDF, Safari only seems to recognize the first page.
In Adobe Reader, I get an error message from my printer: "/usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstocupsraster failed".
Any help would be greatly appreicated!

Quit Safari.
Open the Library folder in your home folder as follows:
☞ If running OS X 10.7 or later, hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar.
☞ If running an older version of OS X, select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar and copy the line below into the text box that opens:
~/Library
Delete the following items from the Library folder:
Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Preferences/com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist
Preferences/QuickTime Preferences
Relaunch Safari and test.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
Select "/var/log/cups/error_log" from the file list. Post the messages from the time of the last printing attempt.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.

Cannon printer MX880 series - whether in wifi mode or plugged in to pc get message printer off line.
All plug in properly new cartridges put in properly but cartridge lights are shining.

To try and resolve the error, if any object is placed in front of the machine, please remove it. Next, please open the paper output tray gently, then turn the power off and back on. If the error still appears, please turn off the machine, unplug the power cord from the power supply and leave it unplugged for 10 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it back on. If the error persists, the printer will require servicing.. Please call or email us using one of the methods on the Contact Us page for servicing options available to you.

Cannon printer mp480

I bought my mac pro 3-5 years ago right before the 10.6 update. I ordered a cannon printer mp480 it was free at the time with my mac pro. It sat in the box for a few years, I just opened it a few months ago. Can it be used with the IOS 10.6? I'm reading online where it's not compatable... now i know why they may have been giving them away:)
I can use the copier, but not the scanner or printer. I can't print anything off of the internet or my computer. Please help direct me if you can...

You could ask Canon. You could check for driver updates at their web site and/or you could install this driver update:

According to the list of printers supported your is so I don't know where you got your miss-information from.

It appears that one of the buttons on the control panel may be sticking and causing the error. I recommend powering off the machine and unplugging it from the wall. Once the unit is unplugged, press all of the buttons on the control panel, starting left to right, one at a time. Next, plug the machine back in and power it on.

Cannot Print Report of Developer 6i CANNON Printer

I am having reports of Developer 6i. In the previous, I have those reports in D2K. Now i complied and the report on Developer 6i and run . The reports are displayed but when i ask for print, it prints only the first page. This things appear in the CANNON Printer. But when we go for the HP printer, this problem does resolve.
Pleas give me a solution.

in metalink they are reporting similar trouble with CANON printers (LBP-800 and others).
They were able to solve it by applying patch 11
and/or getting latest printer drivers.

ok no problem! all i did was 1) set up the mobile hotspot on my phone. 2) turn it and wifi on on the phone. 3) connect the laptop/desktop to the hotspot network. 4) insert setup disk for the printer and begin setup. 5) complete the setup "using a usb cord to temporarilly connect the computer and printer" 6) unplug usb cable and finish set up on the laptop/desktop. 7) give it a few minutes to show up on the AirPrint menu on the phone. 8) that should be it. I unplugged the printer and plugged it back in, made sure the laptop was totally turned off AND disconnected from the network, and did everything I could to try and make it not work. The printer I have is a Canon MG3122, it doesn't have a fancy screen or even a way to input a password or anything like that, so it just strores a default network that it will connect to. in order to change networks i would have to complete setup multiple times. Since I only plan to use it with AirPrint for my mobile business....the one network is just fine! Hope this helps!

To try and resolve the issue, please remove the power cord from the back of the printer and leave it out for at least 10 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it back on. If the error persists, the printer will require servicing to resolve the issue.
