Cannot Acces My Safe After Migrating User Profile

Hello Everyone, greets from Australia
I have a user who migrated their windows user profile to our domain profile using the small business server 2003 connect computer wizard. This wizard did not migrate the users fingerprints or My Safe contents.
After logging onto the old account and attempting to access My Safe with the backup password, the user could not open it.
Is there some way for the user to access the contents in the MYy Safe folder as these documents are extremely important. (Caught the user out for not backing up ;) )

Hmmm maybe its not possible to access the MySafe because the notebook is a part of the domain.
I suppose the notebook was a not included in the domain when the user has used and saved the files in My Safe.
So maybe you could try to reverse the settings and then you could try to enter the MySafe folder.

Hello, everyone, my name is rafl

I have installed exchange 2013 coexistence with legacy exchange 2007, I have to migrate user mailboxes: [email protected] from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013.
but any problem with active sync connection on the mobile device after moving mailbox user. I reconfigure the exchange ActiveSync external connection domain (latest.domain.com) on mobile device replacing legacy exchange ActiveSync external connection domain
    (legacy.domain.com)
the process of moving mailboxes successfully without error.
Access OWA for exchange 2007 and exchange 2013 is running normally
access mail from Outlook running normally
Certificate request has been installed and has no problem with it
The OWA virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
The autodiscover virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
ActiveSync virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
user mailboxes are still on exchange 2007 is not problematic.
only problem with Exchange Active Sync on mobile devices, where I set up an email with android, iphone, windows phone. the error message: cannot connect to the server.
but, if I create a new user and create user mailboxes directly in exchange server 2013, ActiveSync can run without error on mobile device, access through OWA, MsOutlook, Outlook Anywhere also run normally.
only the results of user migration from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 which is troubled with exchange ActiveSync connection.

  • Lost all files and applications installed after changing user profile in the registry of windows 8.1 pc

The original user profile on my windows 8.1 pc is C:\Apple\acer sm. I tried changing it to C:\Apple\Apple. After I rebooted my PC, I found out that all my files and applications are lost. What shall I do to recover them?
Your help would save my life. Thank you!

    Hi AppleMist,
We wonder if you changed the registry entry or path of user profile.
If you did that in registry please try changing it back.
After changing your user profile and reboot, system won’t read the profile you changed but a new user profile (C:\Apple\acer sm or TEMP) should be created by system. Try renaming this new one as acer sm.old and changing the apple back to acer sm.
It should works fine if you didn’t change file in profile, if it doesn’t work perform a system restore.

  • Migrate User Profile Disks to new File Server

I'm looking for some guidance/best practice/advice on moving my user profile disk share. My goal is simple enough, we have a share with UPDs on a stand-alone file server. I'm in the process of configuring a scale-out file server and would like to migrate
my UPD share to that cluster once it is running smoothly. I'm running a 2012 R2 RDS farm. Is the process as simple as changing the UNC path in Server Manager and migrating the data? If so, should I copy the data then change the UNC path or the other way around?
On a related note, is there any problems of hosting the UPD share on DFS? I'm not necessarily looking to replicate the share, but it would ease a similar migration in the future if necessary as I could replicate it or use the DFS migration toolkit without
needing to alter the UNC path in the farm as the client facing path wouldn't change. Just an idea I'm toying with and would love some feedback.

I would think in a simple/flat scenario, you change the UNC path and the wizard will automatically setup the share on the target folder with the correct root permissions
then you can do a robocopy.exe /mir to move the individual UPDs over while retaining their unique permissions for each user
regarding scale out file server, you actually can't use SoFS for just a general file share workload and SoFS + DFS combination also has limited capabilities
for now, SoFS is only compatible with clustered Hyper-V, IIS, VMM and SQL workloads
you can use the old fashion clustered file server role with SMB 3.0 for the UPDs however, as 2012 now allows for proper clustered share aliases that allows you to natively use a virtual name under a clustered file share option which works nicely in your
    case
setting up DFS with the above scenario seems to be supported although I haven't done it before

  • No internet connection after migration of profile

I just migrated an os x 10.68 user profile to a fully functional install of Yosemite.  Now, while the system gets an IP address from my router (an airport extreme), I get the message - "not connected to the internet" whenever i try to browse the web.  I can't send email either.
The machine is a late 2012 21 inch iMac with 4 GB of ram and a 1 TB hard drive.  It was working fine before I did the migration.  I have 4 other macs and various iOS devices working on the same wifi network - without problems.
By a process of elimination I think I probably overwrote a key file or something similar.  Any advice on how to proceed?  My next step is a reinstall of OS X using the recover volume (command - R on reboot).  Anything else I should attempt?
Thanks in advance for the assistance.

  • How to update "Encrypt with UserKey" after Windows User Profile replacement?

A problem with my User Profile required that the files be backed up, the profile deleted, a new profile created and my files restored. I have several SSIS projects built in Visual Studio 2012 that use "EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey". I assume the
"UserKey" is based on the SID or GUID of my User Profile. Now when I open these projects I get the Warning:
Warning 2 Warning loading SSISProject.dtproj: Warning: Failed to decrypt sensitive data in project with a user key. You may not be the user who encrypted this project, or you are not using the same machine that was used to save the project. If the sensitive data is a parameter value, the value may be required to run the package on the Integration Services server. SSISProject.dtproj 0 0
Is there a way to reset the UserKey in an existing project to the key for my new Profile? Is the value derived and used for encryption stored in the .dtproj file? If so can I copy that value from a new SSIS project into the .dtproj file for my old projects?
There has to be some way to "transfer ownership" of an SSIS project.

There has to be some way to transfer "ownership" of SSIS projects between developers. Forget about my specific case of my profile being recreated. Let's say I built this SSIS project and was required to use Encrypt with UserKey. I leave
the company. They ask another developer to make changes to the project. My old "ownership" of the project should be somehow transferable to the new developer. It shouldn't be tied to my ID (which no longer exists at the company) in perpetuity. Microsoft
has to have some way to transfer "ownership" of SSIS Projects with "Encrypt with UserKey". It's such a common use case I can't believe they wouldn't provide for it.
No, there is no way . This option is the default and it is actually the worst option precisely because it is useless in team development environment. Use
EncryptSensitiveWithPassword option just like Arthur suggested and you should be fine.

  • "User cannot be found '' error after migration of site from sp2010 to sp2013

    Hi,
There is a Blogs site, which has been migrated from Sp2010 to Sp2013, and gives ''User cannot be found'' error above the top ribbon:
    Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: User cannot be found
    Please advise
    sk.Rakhishma

This is common when a user has left a company and is still listed as an owner of the document.  When the document is moved to the new environment, it has no record of the old user.
Did you migrate using a migration tool or database attach?  Migration tools usually have an option to handle orphaned users allowing you to map them back to the system account.

  • Premier Pro CC crashes on Mavericks after relocating user profile

Slowly but surely my OSX environment is being extricated from the absolute lunacy that every file used by any application had to reside on the machine's root drive.  Adobe Premiere Pro, for example, created a $USER/Documents/Adobe subdirectory where it stored my profile information.  I attempted to move that profile information to a network drive and to use an alias to point $USER/Documents/Adobe at $NETWORK_DRIVE/Adobe.  Now Adobe Premiere Pro CC crashes on startup.  I have attempted to trash my preference (deleting the 7.0 subfolder of the Adobe/Premiere Pro folder), but that did not help.  Is it really true that in 2014, 30 years after folks had worked out symlinks and NFS, that Adobe cannot honor these tried and true concepts?

Following up on my own question, I found that creating an Alias in Apple-land isn't nearly as simple nor robust as using a good old-fashioned symlink.  I moved the Adobe alias out of the way, symlinked to the network drive, and BANG!  Everything worked.  Proving yet again that the less one knows about OSX (for example, the existence of the alias feature), probably the better.  Surprising, though, that the Premiere Pro CC app cannot deal with such.

  • Time Machine: Cannot access old backups after migrating to a new mac

    Hello,
I have bought a new Mac (With Snow Leopard installed on it). I have used it for about half an hour to have fun with it.
Then, I have decided to use Time Machine & Migration Assistant to restore all my files from my old Mac (Leopard). The restoration was successful and I was very happy to see that all my files and settings were there.
However, when I try to access my old backups (the ones I have done prior to buying the new Mac), Time Machine says I do not have the permissions to access it.
Is there an way to fix this? I would like to be able to access these old files.

I am having a similar problem and do not understand the solution. I have a new Macbook and transferred my data from my Powerbook G4. However, I cannot access anything! There is a no entry sign on the folders and if I click them I get this message: 'The folder “Pictures” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents.'
Help - but please, in simple language
    Thanks

What I can tell is what happens in the background when it migrates, it runs SQL from version to version, the SQL is in <hyperionhome>\Planning\config\sql
It also updates the version and release in table HSP_SYSTEMCFG
So from 3.5.1 to 9.3.1 it would run
    migSQLDB4_0.sql
    migSQLDB4_0_1.sql
    migSQLDB4_1.sql
    migSQLDB4_2.sql
    4_1_1Migration_SQLServer.sql
    9_3_0Migration_SQLServer.sql
    9_3_1Migration_SQLServer.sql
    In HSP_SYSTEMCFG
    set Version to 9
    Release to 31
In the Planning System database, table HSPSYS_APPLICATION, set version to HP-9.3.1
Then it would do the equivalent of a restart of the planning service by clearing the cache.
    Cheers

  • Cannot Access Apple Website After Migration Assistant [SOLVED]

After using Migration Assistant, I was no longer able to access www.apple.com or download using Software Update on the new Mac from an account that was migrated. It turned out to be one or more obsolete Apple cookies.
If you're having this problem, do the following:
    1) Run Safari.
    2) Choose Preferences from the Safari menu.
    3) Click Security.
    4) Click Show Cookies.
    5) Delete every cookie that starts with ".apple".

Well, my issue was completely in my network - in fact my Broadband router.
I have very simplistic acl's on my router that simply define timed access for the kid's devices (2 x laptops and 1 x iPod touch) - no blocking of websites by URL or anything fancy - just permit Internet access (by MAC address) between time A and Time B. And having realised that all 3 of these devices were suffering from various (and, strangely, different) connectivity issues (iPod Safari and 1 laptop couldn't get to Apple Website, whereas the other laptop could; 1 laptop could log into iTunes Apps Store, whereas other laptop could not; etc.), I decided to simply disable the deployed ACLs. And immediately the iPod Touch and 'associated' laptop could download iPod touch app updates (e.g. the reason for the original post), and also access websites that they couldn't previously, etc.
Also seemed to solve the iTunes Store access issues with the other laptop, although that device still has other connectivity issues....
So, anyone with a Belkin F7D3402 v1 running Firmware v1.00.51 (possibly UK only Belkin device - and which I have already reported to Belkin as having a buggy DHCP reservation implementation - i.e. it doesn't work!) - be warned: if you have ACL's defined, even without discrete/individual URL filtering, it might be affecting general Internet connectivity in a very random and weird way....

  • After migration of profile, folders can be seen but not read

    1) Screen dump shows folders as expected, but choosing one by clicking on it does not reveal messages 2) the other tabs (created from previous installation) show correct data 3) menu option help / troubleshooting works ok - output attached 4) other menu option do not work (e.g. "Help / About" does nothing) 5) I am running under a brand new installation of Linux Mint 17/ Cinnamon - have tried un-installing / re-installing 6) version installed is 1:31.6.0+build1-0ubuntu0.14.04.1 7) ~/.thunderbird contains two profiles, dw6qkyib.New and q0vb0h3j.default. profiles.ini points to the latter
(Previously posted same question under [email protected], but could not access the verification email - downloaded from mail server, and lost in the black hole!)

I think this is a "feature" that has been added in one of the new versions. I can get to see the messages if I click on a folder with the right mouse and select "Open in new tab". However, (in Classic view) selecting a message in the list does not show the body of the email in the bottom pane.
This, to me, is a broken version. The previous behaviour was completely intuitive: choose any folder in the LHS and this list of massages appeared in the top RH panel, click on any header from the list, and the details were shown below. Why did someone thing this paradigm needed to be changed?
I would rather go back to a previous version, if I knew when this change was made.

  • Authorization issues after migrating user

    Hi Folks,
I recently had a call with Apple about some permission problems when tryng to sync files between my iMac and MacBook.  They suggested I use the Migration Assitant to solve the matter, which I did, and I migrated my iMac admin to my MacBook.
Most everything worked fine, however today when I synced my iPhone I had to authorize the MacBook again to catch a few apps, and now I have three of five computers authorized, yet I only have two macs as illustrated above.
How do I get my "wasted" authorization back?
    Thanks for assistance.
    Inoshi

I think you are not understanding - Deauthorize All. You are allowed to do ALL once a year - you can authorize/deauthorize single computers as many times as you want.
By doing this you remove the authorizations of all computers to your account. You then reauthorize the computers that you want to have on the account. The next time you migrate to a new computer - simply deauthorize the old computer and authorize the new one.
More info from Apple here - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1420
    This is a viable solution.

  • It is Possible to Migrate Local User Profile to Roaming Profile Using USMT?

    Dear All,
1st, I'm following guide at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/142682 to copy user profiles to another user, but the problem is the 'Copy to' button is not active (grey). I try
using 3rd party tools, still no change.
2nd, I try to transfer local profile on the same machine and different user using Windows Easy Transfer, it's work and all of data has been restore to a new user. But not all App Settings is restored, when I open Outlook 2010 and Windows
Live Mail, there's need to enter password again. That is not problem for me.
3rd, After migrate/transfer (2nd step) I want to migrate from local profile to roaming profile, but user profile setting on local profile is not copied to roaming profile, such as Email setting need to create new account but all data is
not problem, because I have already configure on ADUC and GPMC.
    My question is:
    1. How to copy or move all Application settings on AppData Local folder to roaming profile?
    2. How about USMT, it is possible to migrate user profile settings from local to roaming? if is the best tools, how to do this?
    Please, advice...
    Thanks,
    Hendra

First, I dont understand why you're using the copy profile method. I'll make the assumption that you have a domain user account that you you need it's files and settings moving to another machine.
In that scenario then there's a simple guide here:
    Migrate User Accounts
For Roaming Profiles and Redirected folders; you can follow the
Infrastructure Planning and Design (IPD) Guide for Windows User State Virtualization (USV).
It sounds like a mouthfull but it actually makes the whole process easy. There's also a video
    here.
