Cannot access adjustment layer panel presets.

I’ve been using Photoshop My CS4 for about six-months—first experience with adobe photoshop. Although the cursor points to the adjustment panel preset links, the links appear grayed out and nothing happens when I click. It seems to me they were available at one time, but not now. I’m running with Vista 64-bit and 12GB memory. Any suggestions or solutions?
Fred

Is the image Grayscale?
Try it with an RGB colour image in 8-bit mode.

  • Hue/Saturation adjustment layer panel

I think the whole Hue/Saturation panel could use an overhaul.
Short of that, it would be nice if the H/S adjustment layer panel stayed on the color setting you last left it on.  Right now it just switches back to "Master" when the adjustment layer is reselected after another layer has been selected.  There is no indication of what color ranges have had adjustments made to them.

i agree- i really wish there was some way to see in the drop down menu which colors have been adjusted w/o having to go through each one.
it would really make things easier for people who work with alot of adjustment layers.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I did the test you said, I can not! I tried with Safari and Firefox, I also deleted the cache. Although I do the reset for 20 seconds, it will not reset. O don't understand... I'm not a dummy
Your last option is to do the hard reset. That's done by pressing the reset button for 30 seconds while the device is powered on. Once done release the button and power off the device. After a while, plug it back in and reinstall the settings from scratch.

  • CS4 Adjustment Layer Panel - Where Is OK Icon

    1. Clicked on Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves (or, in the alternative, the Crate New Fill Or Adjustment Layer icon at bottom of Layers panel, then selected Curves (it need not have been Curves - any adjustment poses the same issue).
    2. Did my adjustment.
    3. Photoshop CS4 for Dummies, p. 363 says, "In the adjustment's dialog box, make any edits and then click OK."
    4. The book, "Using Adobe Photoshop CS4" by Adobe, also refers to the "OK."
I have examined my computer display for 40 minutes and cannot find an "OK" icon/button. Can you help me locate it? I'm aware I don't have to find it as I can just go on with my work, since the layer has been created and I know how to close the Adjustments panel, but I want to find the darn OK icon/button.
Note: I'm also aware of how to open the Window > Adjustments panel.
    Thanks.

Page 63: “Go over to the Layers panel. Look at the very bottom for the little half-black/half-white circle icon. This is the Create New Adjustment Layer icon. Click on it…”
Page 64: “Since you’re already there, choose Hue/Saturation from the pop-up menu to add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. You’ll see the Hue/Saturation dialog open. Drag the Hue setting to -32. That changes the color of the daisy to orange.
Once you’ve settled on a color, click OK to close the Hue/Saturation dialog.”

  • Can't find save option in adjustment layer panel (CC 2014)

I can't find if anyone can help ?

Your screenshot is the same in my Photoshop, nothing wrong there.
An adjustment layer works like this: You dial in your setting and the settings stay put in that adjustment layer. You just save the file. File > Save to keep it.
If it started as a jpeg, it will be saved as a psd copy to keep the adjustment layer.
When you re-open your psd file and click on your Color Balance layer, the setting are where you last left them and you can change the settings if you want.
If by chance you flatten layers in that image, you lose the adjustment layer if you save the file and the changes are permanent. No more chances.
Always wise to use Image > Duplicate or keep the original layered file on backup.
Same goes with Type layers. You can place type on a photo and the type is on a separate layer. You can delete that Type layer if you don't want it.
Layer > Flatten Image in the main menu will make the type permanent in your image. You can't simply erase it.
That's how adjustment and type layers work. Always keep your master psd safe, do not flatten it.

  • CS6 Photoshop cannot access layer by clicking on the part of the picture I want on the main screen

I cannot access a layer by clicking on the part of the picture I want on the main screen I have to go into the layer panel and never use to have to what happened?

I use Photoshop CC 2014 on my Macbook, I don't know your setup, but first I have to select the Move Tool and in its' Options bar, I would checkmark "Auto-Select: Layer".
If you have and it's still not working, right click on that Move tool icon and select "Reset Tool" from the pop-up menu.

  • CS4 - Color Sampler readout with Adjustment Layer selected?

I'm not sure if this is a setting, or a bug, or the way adobe intended it, but perhaps some of you may know.
In Photoshop CS4, I have a few color samplers around the stage. I notice that the color readouts require that I make some adjustments using a curves layer. I add the curves adjustment layer and start to make adjustments. The only problem is that while I have an adjustment layer selected (so I can make changes to it) my color sampler readouts in the info panel display blank.
In previous version of photoshop this was not the case as you could open the adjustment dialog without actually having that adjustment layer selected. I love the new adjustment layer panel, but its really frustrating having to make some changes to an adjustment layer and then select another layer to see what those changes did to the color samplers, and back and forth, and back and forth.
Does anyone have a fix for this? Is it a bug? Is there a reason that CS4 functions this way?

  • I can't get photoshop to record a curve adjustment layer preset.

I am trying to record an action on a colleague's machine that has a custom curve setting but cant seem to get it to stick as a playable action step. He has one of the new trashcans (Mac Pro) with a system version of 10.9.4 and photoshop version of 2014.2.2. I am able to do it on my machine by recording the addition of the curve adjustment layer then selecting a pre-created curve preset. I am running Photoshop 2014.0.0. This does not work on his machine....quite maddening. Any ideas?

Did you set up the custom setting as a preset on all machines  that will be using the action the loads the curves preset?
How did you record the Levels adjustment?
Did you add an adjustment layer or just use levels?
If you  added an adjustment layer two step are recorded in newer versions of Photoshop.  First step add the adjustment layer the second step setsl adjustment settings.  The recording of the adjustment setting is delayed till  you commit the adjustment  by doing the next action step.  How the add adjustment layer plays back can vary for Adobe introduced bugs in CS4 adding the Adjustment Panel they included two option that can change how Photoshop operates. And Actions and Scripts can not control or access these options.

It sounds like the battery might have gone bad, and is swelling and causing the symptoms you describe.  Do not attempt to use the phone, but take it to Apple for evaluation.

  • [Photoshop CC 2014] Click&hold-move-release doesn't work when adding adjustment layer from the layer panel

When selecting a menu item I used to click the left mouse button and hold it down, move the pointer to the desired menu item and release the mouse button. Everything works fine in the mine menu, but there's a problem when adding new adjustment layer from the layer panel: when I release the button nothing happens, I have to press the button again. In previous PS version it worked fine. How can I fix this?

I don't think that is user fixable, meaning you'll have to wait till adobe fixes it with an update.

    windows does not work
    mac does work

  • Cannot access Adobe Folio Builder using Indesign (CS6) on Windows 7, error message is 'An error has occured while trying to sign in to the Folio Builder Panel' [IMS_ERROR_FAILURE]

Cannot access Adobe Folio Builder using Indesign (CS6) on Windows 7, error message is 'An error has occured while trying to sign in to the Folio Builder Panel' [IMS_ERROR_FAILURE]

Yes, I can open the DPS portal via the Folio Builder panel within InDesign. Although I have created Folios locally within InDesign CS6, the DPS portal is empty and everthing greyed out with just the text "There are no folios to display. Create folios with the folio builder in InDesign".
If I try to sign in within the Folio Builder panel in InDesign, I get the error message [IMS_ERROR_FAILURE] . In addition I am also not able to access the "Help" menu from within InDesign although I am connected to the internet.
To complicate it even further, I am working in the UK whereas all internet control (firewall) and licences are handeled by head office in Germany. I am not sure if this is a firwewall issue or not but if the IT department in Germany could get support from Adobe to understand the access requirements, this may help.
Hopefully using the forum someone out there will know the answer.

  • IDCS5: How to access selected layers in layer panel

It seems the way to access the selected layers in layer panel has been changed in CS5.
Here is a link to the code that worked with CS4, but it is not working on CS5.
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/1304622#1304622
Is there some way to find out how it works in CS5?
    Thanks.

Please check Panel Options > Thumbnail Size from the Layers Panel’s pop-up menu in the upper right corner.

  • Cannot adjust adjustment layer

I am attempting to do a little color correction to an RGB image using an adjustment layer and the Photo Filter.
I select Layer > New Adjustment Layer... > Photo Filter and a new adjustment layer appears in the Layers Palette. I should also get the Photo Filter dialog so I can do the adjustment. But, the Photo Filter dialog never appears, and it's not selectable from the Image > Adjustments menu. There's nothing I can do with the adjustment layer.
Anyone else ever have this problem? It's a new one to me. Suggestions on correcting this are welcome.
    Photoshop CS5 / Mac
    Thanks,
    Jim

What happens if you double click on the Photo Filter icon in the layers panel?
If you go to Window>Adjustments, does it show there?
    Do other adjustment layers work?
What is the color mode and bit depth of your document?

  • [CS6] Cannot make camera blur effect working in adjustment layer

I try to use Camera Blur effect in an adjustment layer, the blur itself work, but I cannot animate it in the timeline, it still stuck on the first keyframe value.
    help?

I think I found the issue, in fact some effects had the same issue.  It was just taking a long time before it update in Premiere, I can't see anything that says it is updating it becoming frustrating because some times there's real case where the footage doesn't update at all.
