Cannot access boot menu/ThinkVantage setup/boot from DVD

So I am trying to install W7 from an external DVD drive but I am not able to
a) Access the boot menu: Immediately after I power on the notebook, the computer boots into Win 8. There is no message displayed "Press enter to interrup booting" (or similar), but the loading-throbbler is shown directly. Other keys don't work either (F1, DEL, F12,...)
b) Boot from DVD
c) Access the "ThinkVantage Setup": The manual says I have to enter ThinkVantage Setup and select to install Win 7 there, but I can't find such tool on the computer.

This is from memory, hopefully it's close:
Within Win 8, bring up the charms bar. Then Settings. At the bottom is "Change PC Settings" it looks like a title, but it is a link. Click it. Select "General" on the left. Then scroll down the right panel to "Advanced Startup" select "Restart Now".
Here's where my memory is a little hazy: either "continue" or "turn off your PC". On restart you should be able to hit ENTER (or whatever key it is on your machine) to get to BIOS.
You may need to disable Secure Boot and change the boot mode to Legacy or UEFI + Legacy to boot your DVD.
My understanding is that since Win 8 actually hibernates instead of doing a full shutdown as the default, access to BIOS and boot options is disabled. It's necessary to force a full shutdown before BIOS and boot options can be safely accessed.

Not really although there is a menubar application called QuickBoot you might look at - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

Cannot Access Satellite C50-A-1G6 Boot Menu

I have a Satellite C50-A-1G6 that originally came with Windows 8.1. I had successfully disabled UEFI and Secure boot to install Windows 7 in legacy boot mode.
However, I now want to upgrade to Windows 8.1 again, but I cannot access the boot menu or BIOS anymore, I have tried all the F-keys, either with or without holding Fn, to no avail. The laptop shows a blinking cursor for one second before proceeding to boot from the hard drive. Trying to boot from USB or CD/DVD as-is does not work, either.
To summarize, the laptop is currently not in UEFI mode, it's booting Windows 7 in legacy mode, I intend to install Windows 8.1 in legacy boot mode, but cannot access the boot menu, or boot the laptop from USB or CD/DVD.
Any help on this issue is much appreciated.

Managed to find a solution to my own problem, I've outlined it below for anyone else that's running into the same situation.
The problem is that the laptop is set to "Fast Boot", in which it apparently disregards the boot order and will only accept the HDD as a valid boot device. You cannot enter the BIOS at this point, you will need a small tool called "Toshiba System Settings Utility", I got it from http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-...0127165632.zip.
Once you have installed the utility, open it, and go to Boot Options, set USB as the first boot option, then scroll down and set the Boot Speed to Normal. It should look like this:
After that, you'll be able to enter BIOS/Boot USB or DVD.

Cannot access shared external drive on iMac from Windows 7

Used to be able to access this drive with no problem from any of my PC's. Sent iMac in for repair and system drive was wiped so I'm starting from clean install of Leopard. Did all the updates first including 10.6.4 which wasn't on before the system drive died.
Firewall is off
SMB is on
Everyone as well as main user has read write access to external drive
iMac is in the same workgroup as machine, although it wasn't before and it worked fine.
PC can ping the IP of the iMac and get a response, can see the iMac in list of networked computers
but cannot access anything on it.
Windows 7 network diagnostics says "file and print sharing resource (JMGIMAC) is online but isn't responding to connection attempts" "The remote computer isn't responding to connections on port 445
I've tried everything, any ideas

I am familiar with the instructions for sharing files and have followed them (several times I might add).
My problem is that the information that I place in the WINS tab ( in the Network Preference Pane) disappears when the iMac is re-started. This information (especially the Workgroup name) must appear when the computer re-boots. It doesn't and I have to re-enter the information in the iMac before I can access its files from a Windows PC.
I have searched the internet for days trying to find an answer to this question. Although the problem seems to be fairly common, no solutions have been found.

I cannot access the pictures on my iPhone from my PC anymore?

For some reason I can no longer access the pictures on my iPhone from my WIndows PC. I used to be able to navigate us explorer to the files and download them to my desktop. A possibly related glitch is that when I connect the iPhone with the cable via the USB port windows says it's recognized and properly installed the device drive...however the device does not apeear under "My Computer" the device show up on iTunes on the PC but I cannot navigate to the picture. Can someone please help me?

Thanks for update.
Can you look into the bottom dock connector, and clean it with jet of air, also look if any pins/wire is not straight. My suspicion is that, the USB interface signal pins, 25 and 27, D- and D+, is not communicating with the iPod, especially pin 25.
If cleaning doesn't work, then bring it to any 3rd Party iPod Repair, to let them have a look or replace the bottom dock or whatever they find out of place.
Oops sorry, I forgot the basic
Can you Reset the iPod.
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

I cannot access my multi-function DAQ hardware from VB/Meas Studio after upgrading to latest Meas Studio Version and NI-DAQmx

I have a farily complex project that was initially written in VB6.0 with Meas Studio 3.0 and using traditional NiDAQ. For seveal reasons, I wanted to upgrade to the latest NI software. So, I purchased the latest version of Meas. Studio. I installed this, along with NI-DAQmx. Now, I cannot access any of the hardware from the VB IDE / Meas. Studio DAQ objects. Nor can I get the installed examples to run. The test panels run ok from MAX.
The whole process of trying to do this upgrade process has been extremely confusing and frustrating. I have a support request in, but have yet to hear from anyone. Trying to get useful information on this problem from the NI web site has also been difficult since almost all of the support doucments of any detail reference Labview.
Any help will be appreciated.

I'd like to better explain the decision not to provide ActiveX controls for DAQmx. My intention is not to de-legitimize your concern or downplay the pain/inconvenience this caused you.
The decision not to provide ActiveX controls would be more accurately summarized as a cost/benefit decision.
DAQmx is an entirely different API. The choice not to support mx with ActiveX controls was not a matter of dropping support from an implementation perspective (I understand that from a product-offering perspective, it is dropping support). Rather, the choice not to support mx with ActiveX controls was a matter of not designing and implementing an entire new set of controls.
Given our resources, we have to make choices about what languages (C#, VB.NET, C++, VB6), frameworks and versions (.NET 1.1, .NET 2.0, ASP.NET, MFC 7.1, MFC 8.0, VB6), and development environments (VB6, VC6, VS2003, VS2005) that we support. When NI decided that mx was necessary (that is, we could not move forward with new hardware under the old Traditional DAQ API), the Measurement Studio team had to decide which of these languages/platforms/ADEs to support.
We view the ActiveX controls as native support for Visual Basic 6.0. In March of 2008, Microsoft is going to stop supporting Visual Basic 6.0 (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vbrun/ms788707.aspx). It was largely because of this that we did not feel that our customers, as a whole, would gain enough benefit from us developing ActiveX controls to justify the cost. Instead, we developed native .NET and C++/MFC libraries for DAQmx.
We developed the type library for mx because we did understand that some customers would want or need to use mx boards in existing VB6 systems. While this is not an ideal solution, we hoped that it would be good enough. I am sorry that it doesn't meet your needs.
Looking back, we see that our customer base has not moved away from VB6 and to VB.NET or C# as quickly as we thought they would. This is why the Measurement Studio product continues to include VB6 support (the UI and Analysis ActiveX controls that you mention) and why we continue to fix bugs in these components. However, we are not putting much effort into developing new features in these ActiveX controls. Almost all of our new feature development efforts are in the .NET libraries.

Cannot Access Shortcut Menu for Adding Input/Output in Formula Node

This is a wierd problem. I cannot access the shortcut menu in formula node. I right click the border, nothing happens. Anyone run into this before? Is there any other way to add inputs and outputs?

As the saying goes, "when you hear hoofbeats, think horses and not zebras". Let's get a few things out of the way.
Is the VI in edit mode?
Is autotool on?
Drop a fresh FN on a New VI and try it again.
The only other way I know to add/remove inputs is scripting, let's not go there.
I have had a few issues with context menus, very few which persisted past a LV and/or computer restart, so I won't rule out a zebra just yet.

I cannot access my /User/Dennis/Pictures folder from Bridge

I has the CS3 Suite, I am trying to see some files in the above path on my C: Drive, but for some reason I cannot access thru Bridge.
If I go to PS and choose File/Open then I can navigate to that folder and open files, but I really would liket to do so with Bridge so I can open images in Camera Raw.
I've checked all my folder settings I could think of to ensure access to all, but that did not make that folder even 'visible' in Bridge.
Any words of wisdom?

No. I did pull some folders in from an external Raid drive onto
my C: \Users\Dennis which was already on my C: Drive forever.
There are 3 Folders under User, 1)Default, 2)Dennis 3)Public and the only one Bridge finds is the Public Folder.

I have 8 static public IP addresses and this works fine with my Linksys WRT54G when he's running the show, so I know that the setup in Bitvise is solid...
I can telnet in from 111.222.333.xxx and 222.333.444.xxx just fine but I cannot connect to Bitvise; what puzzles me is the show ip access-lists does not show any packets allowed in on port 22 and the 80 deny any any is counting up each time I try to log in so I can only assume it is denying port 22. However, from Line 40 I see that same outside address is successful in bringing telnet traffic in.
I have ssh on the vty lines shut off right now on the 871W, by the way. Also, I can choose a different port for Bitvise to listen on and can log in from that port if that would cure it, I didn't think about that until just now... does the router block port 22 no matter how the ACL is set if ssh is shut off on the vty lines?

OK, I got it sorted out, it wasn't as much a problem with NAT as it was with my ACL...

SSRS 2012 - Cannot access any of the sub page from Report Manager - Manage page menus.

All:
It was working at one point of time, but suddenly when I tried to access any of the menus from Report Manage page, all the options (Data Source, Subscriptions, Processing Options, Cash Refresh Options, Report History, Snapshot Options, Security) will
redirect back to the root directory page.
Because of this problem, I cannot manage any of the options or subscriptions for any of my report on the server.
Does anybody know what could be the problem? Thank you very much for your help.

As per my understanding, I think this strange issue can be caused by the browser which running Report Manager and the page files may be corrupted which are related to manage properties in Report Manager.
As to the browser, if you use IE explorer to run Report Manager, I suggest that you can try to run it in compatibility mode. If you are using another browser, I recommend that you should use IE explorer to run Report Manager to check the issue again.
Another possibility is related to corrupted page files. If in this scenario, I suggest that you can try to copy the all Pages folder from another server which works well to replace the current one. By default, the Pages folder is located in the following
folders:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportManager
Besides, if this issue still exists, you can go to Reporting Services Log Files to see if there are error messages. Then it may help us make further analysis.

I cannot access books in my collections starting from D to Z

My collections only shows authoe from a to c.
Where are the books

I have this problem too. I can still get to the collections by swiping across the bookshelf but not from the list. From other discussions it looks like there’s a limit on the number of collections: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23794822#23794822.
May not work for you, but I moved books out of some of my smaller collections and then deleted those collections. That way I can access the collections farther down the list. If you don’t want to delete collections, the books still show up in search.

Cannot access music menu options

My iPod will not let me get to the music menu.. When I open the music it goes to landscape mode grouped by artist. I cannot change playlists or anything. I have reset the iPod many times. Does anyone know what this could be?

You can spend hours lookimg at the program wondering what it is doing, and most of the time it is doing nothing, when you thougth you had started an application.
Please give us a time estmate for the sync/function that is running.
