  • JDeveloper 10g - ODBC (MS-Access) database connection

    Hi!
    I'm a new JDeveloper user.
    I can connect to an ODBC (Access) database and I can see tables in Oracle JDeveloper 9i. It's work fine.
    I can connect to an ODBC (Access) database but I CAN'T see tables in Oracle JDeveloper 10g(Connections Navigator-tables). It's NOT expanding table items. But when I enter an select sql command in SQL worksheet, it shows me datas in my tables. it's work. How can I resolve this problem?
    I've downloaded only JDeveloper 10g Preview zip file at www.oracle.com. Do I need download any program or application/driver ?
    Thanks...

    Note that JDeveloper 10g is only a preview release-- i.e. a beta. I'm sure that there are bugs in it at the moment which will be addressed in the final release.

  • Can JDeveloper 10g (10.1.3) - early access 1 run properly with JDK 1.4.2?

    Hi all,
    Can I compile/run properly using JDK 1.4.2 in JDeveloper 10g (10.1.3)? I am doing a web service where JDeveloper 10g (10.1.2) does not help me to auto-generate the webservices.xml. I found out that the latest JDev (10.1.3) helps me to generate all those files that I needed to deal for JAX-RPC with attachment using Handler Chain; as well as the WS-Security. Since my Oracle Application Server is using JDK 1.4.2, so i would like to enquire whether I can use JDK 1.4.2 in my JDeveloper 10g (10.1.3) to compile and run my web service?

    The purpose I use JDeveloper (10.1.3) is to create the Handler to handle the attachment in JAX-RPC web service. I had search the web for solution of step-by-step on how to create a Handler to handle attachment in JAX-RPC wizard in JDeveloper 10g (10.1.2) and yet I can't find any. Then I came across an article that explain on how to do that in JDeveloper (10.1.3). But, the limitation here is - my Oracle Application Server 10g is using JDK 1.4 and yet JDeveloper 10g(10.1.3) is using JDK1.5. Most of the code that is auto-generated by JDev 10.1.3 is based on JDK 1.5. If I can solve my problems using JDeveloper 10g (10.1.2) then I wouldn't want to use JDeveloper 10g (10.1.3) - at least not now. So, I am not sure of how stable is the JDeveloper 10g (10.1.3) preview version. What should I do next, please advise. Thanks

    why Jdeveloper 10g ea not work?

    I'm not able to reproduce it exactly. It seems to depend on either what I was doing beforehand or what I have open at the same time.
    I was able to make it happen on demand awhile ago, but I've closed and restarted the environment since then.
    The best I can remember, I had been going up the dialog, starting at the bottom. I was looking for where to enter the location of SQL*Plus. I didn't expect to see it in accelerators, but I was just curious what was in there when...boom. I might have finished one pass thru most of the tree, then started on a second pass when I encountered the problem. Best guess at this point on how to reproduce would be to simulate a user persistently looking for a setting and just not stopping until he found it.

  • Cannot connect to Oracle 8 from JDeveloper 10g

    Hi everybody,
    I have a connection problem to my local database Oracle 8.0.5, when I try to create a connection from JDeveloper J2EE Developer Preview Edition Version 10.1.3.0.2.223 using Oracle JDBC, when i test the connection.. i have the following messages:
    ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-02248: invalid option for ALTER SESSION
    And when I do the same thing on Oracle 9i Release 2, the connection is ok!!
    Please help me, maybe there's an additional configuration, answer me if anyone have ideas...
    Thanks a lot,
    David

    Hi David,
    I'm afraid future versions of JDeveloper will not be supporting the Database version 8.0.5. We will continue to support 8.1.7 and above versions of the Database but 8.0.5 is no longer supported by Oracle.

  • Class cannot access its superinterface

    We're migrating an application from jDeveloper 9 to jDeveloper 10g (10.1.3.5), and have got almost everything working on the new server.
    However, one thing is not working: whenever a DataTable is set up with an edittarget (to edit a row in a new webpage, and where state is maintained via a cookie),
    I get an error message in the resulting webpage.
    Here is an example of such an editable DataTable:
    <jbo:DataTable datasource="dsPrisliste" edittarget="ApPristilbudView_Edit.jsp" /> The "intermediate" file, ApPristilbudView_Edit.jsp, essentially does the following:
    <%@ page language="java" import="oracle.jbo.html.*, oracle.jbo.http.*" errorPage="errorpage.jsp" contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1252" %>

  • JDeveloper 10g classpath problem

    The source file has:
    import javax.mail.*;
    import javax.mail.internet.*;
    import javax.activation.*;
    The error on making is
    Error(20,1): cannot access directory javax\mail; verify that directory is reachable from classpath and/or sourcepath
    Please what is the answer?
    Thanks.

    For anybody that has a similar problem, I have fixed it by going to
    Project/Project Properties/Profiles/Development/Paths/Additional Classpath
    in JDeveloper.
    Although JDeveloper will not compile Java classes using the latest release from Sun (5.0), you can surprisingly specify project classpaths to the latest Sun release in the Additional Classpaths and JDeveloper doesn't object.
    I put the additional classpaths in my project as:
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\j2ee.jar;C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\mail.jar
    which is what you would set if you compile from a DOS prompt.
    Now it recognises all the javax Mail Internet and Mime classes.
    It seems Java is not particularly backward or forward compatible and you have to watch out for things from release to release.
    PS If you install JDeveloper 10g and mistakenly point it to the latest Sun Java, it is best to de-install (just delete the complete directory tree) and re-install and point it to an earler version. There is an XML initialization file which holds all the paths, but it is a futile task to try to fix it up retrospectively to point to the right places.

  • Failure to connect JDeveloper 10g to Oracle Database Expres Edition.

    Hi, i working with Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3 and Oracle Database 10g Express Edition. CONNECT to Oracle Database XE from Jdeveloper Wizards using JDBC/Thin, generate the next error messge:
    ORA-0064: error ocurred at recursive SQL level 1.
    ORA-12705:Cannot access NLS datafile or invalid environmment specified.
    Vendor code: 604.
    , but connect to using ODBC work Ok.
    If run the application display:
    17002:Exception of E/S: SO: Exception was generated.
    Roberto.

    Hi Roberto,
    this issue can be caused by language incompatibility between JDeveloper language (client language) and database language.
    To check the language of the database, execute the following SQL statement from the DB:
    select * from nls_database_parameters;To check the JDeveloper language:
    Select menu Help --> About in JDev, and see the values for:
    user.language, user.region.
    Are they the same ?
    If not,
    1. Edit <JDev_Home>/jdev/bin/jdev.conf file.
    2. Add the following parameters:
    AddVMOption -Duser.language=...
    AddVMOption -Duser.region=...
    with the values for language and region, f.ex. en and US respectively
    3. Restart JDeveloper and re-test the connection.
    Hope this helps,
    Didier.

  • Can't make a connection from JDeveloper 10g (9.0.5.0) to WebLogic 8.1

    I can't make a connection from JDeveloper 10g (9.0.5.0.0) to WebLogic 8.1
    When I click "Test connection" JDeveloper 10g writes the following:
    Cannot instantiate class: weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory
    Have somebody ever established a connection from JDeveloper 10g (9.0.5.0) to WebLogic 8.1? How to do this?

    It connects successfully now. Thank you for the information.
    But it does nothing when I try to deploy my J2EE application.
    I right-click on Resources -> application.deploy, choose "Deploy to" -> my connection. It starts to do something obscure.
    Then I go to the WebLogic console and it shows that there is no my application.

    With Oracle JDeveloper 10g (10.1.3) Developer Preview, I tried to make a simple jsp page as in this tutorial:

    For a simple stand-alone java application, it worked.
    I have sun jdk 1.4.2 on Fedora Core 3.
    Don't know if there are similar bug reports, I searched this forum for "10.1.3" but the search page stays like that for ~2 minutes, then stops without showing anything.

    Hello Frank,
    Thank you for your suggestion. I tried that and I got the same error. Looked more careful at it:
    Exception java.io.IOException: /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc: cannot execute
    I tried to execute it manually:
    $ l /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 marius marius 1.9k Dec 2 19:20 /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
    $ /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
    bash: /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc: Permission denied
    Did
    $ chmod a+x /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
    which solved the execution. Now Hello word works.
    I got jdeveloper as a .zip archive, which doesn't keep unix permissions. The Linux distribution should be in .tgz archive, it would have avoided this problem.
    Thanks!
