Cannot access flash content in adobe reader

Opening flash content in Adobe reader causes Adobe reader to advise me that "flash player" is required.
I have cleaned and reinstalled the latest flash and adobe reader multiple times.
I have reset the internet options and checked the plugins
I have installed shockwave
I have verified flash works fine in internet explorer
I have tried the "repair installation" in Adobe Reader.
I have manually scanned the registry and cleaned it of all adobe registry entries then reinstalled all adobe applications (they all acted as if it was their first time and functioned properly).
ANY help would be appreciated.

What is the difference between that file and the one that ends with "AX" from the adobe web site.
Further from what TSN has already explained: Internet Explorer uses a technology called ActiveX for browser add-ons; that's what the "AX" stands for.  All other browsers use the "plugin" technology (NPAPI) originally developed by Netscape.
I have for years tried to convince Adobe to provide a single installer for Windows that installs all Flash Player components, instead of two different installers (https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=2945082).  Unfortunately this seems to be a lost cause.  But you can go to the bugbase link in the previous sentence, and cast a vote to implement it.

To install/update Adobe Reader or Acrobat you need to supply your computer's Administrator password.

  • Protected form cannot be filled in in Adobe Reader for IPhone

    Hi,
I've created a pdf form in Acrobat XI and password protected it for editing.  I can fill in the form and save it in adobe reader, but it cannot be filled in in Adobe Reader in an IPhone.  Are there any security settings I can use to protect the form from being edited and still allow it to be completed in an IPhone?
    Thanks,

    Hi Satyadev,
Thanks to Adobe and you for looking into this issue and responding.  While
your team works on expanding functionality for protection, please let them
know that expanding the javascript api in Mobile Reader would be wonderful
as well.  I made a search box that looks up towns in a list of over 900
towns to make it so users didn't have to scroll through such a large list.
This function works in Adobe Reader but not Mobile Reader because the
javascript api in Mobile Reader is very limited.
    Thanks again,
    Bob

  • About Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Reader

    Hi folks,
    Archlinux 86-64 2007-08-2
    SeaMonkey 1.1.6,
I need to install Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Reader
    I found following link;
    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ins … _on_Arch64
But not for Seamonkey.  Does it work on Seamonkey.  Besides it's flash plugin.  Would it be the same as Adobe Flash Player?
Does 32bit Adobe Reader works on 64bit Seamonkey.  Where can I download it?  Where can I find its installation document?
    TIA

  • Cannot access the content producer portal via reverse proxy

    Hi all,
I hope my post is in the right forum
We have an FPN environment using RRA with our EP (NW 7.0 SPS18) as the consumer and our BI portal (NW 7.0 SPS18) as the content producer.  The consumer is registered with the producer using HTTP protocol.  Everything works as expected.
We're trying to implement an Apache reverse proxy for our FPN with SSL termination so that we can access the portals from the Internet with HTTPS protocol while keeping HTTP protocol for the internal users.
Through the reverse proxy, we can access the consumer portal and we can access the producer portal directly without any problem.  The only problem is that, if we logged onto the consumer via the reverse proxy, we cannot access the content from the producer.  We'd get the browser security warning message
"Although this page is encrypted.  The information you have entered will be sent over an unencrypted connection. ..."
When we hit the Continue button, we'd get the eror 404 Not Found - The request resource does not exist.
Our Unix admin tried both Apache and SAP Web Dispatcher but we couldn't get it to work properly.  We went through a lot of blogs and documents and we are at our wits end.  We would greatly appreciate if someone can point out where we should look at.
Thank you very much in advance.
    Dao

    Hi Kevin,
Unfortunately, our Unix admin thinks you missed the point because my question was not clear enough
We do not have problems with the "correct name" in the reverse proxy and our main SSL termination works fine.
It's just that the consumer is registered with the producer using HTTP protocol; as a result, the producer's URL link is 'hard-coded' to use HTTP protocol in the consumer portal since we are not using SSL in the internal network.  Hence, we'd like to know if there's any way to change them to HTTPS for the Internet clients while keeping the HTTP protocol for the internal users.
I hope I made it clearer this time
    Regards,
    Dao

  • How create folders to organize content on adobe reader?

How create folders to organize content on adobe reader?

Go to the "Documents" view (From a document, tap "Documents" or "Recents" in the toolbar and then choose "Documents"). Then, tap "Edit" and you will see a folder with a "+" in it. You can add a folder here. Subsequently, you can tap "Edit" and use the move button (the folder with the arrow in it) to move a document to your new folder.

Question:  I bought a 5 yr old Mac G5 OSx 10.4.11, 2 GHz intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB 667 MHz DDR1 SDRAM memory.  It works fine but I can't get Thunderbird, Flash Player or Adobe reader to install -- it shows up on desktop as download but not App folder. Why?

The downloads are probably .dmg files (disk images).  You would open the disk image (double-click it) to find the application or an installer.  If it's the application itself, you then drag the application to your Applications folder to "install" it.  If it's an installer, double-click the installer to run the installer that installs the application.
NOTE:  If you iMac is Intel, it's not a PPC G5.

  • Flash Player And adobe reader not working and downloads don't work

I have IE 8 and windows vista and everything has worked great for 2 years until 2 or 3 weeks ago.  At that time my flash player stopped working so I could no longer get videos , streaming stock quotes, weather map loops, etc and when I go to websites that use Flash (i.e. Piaaz Hut) it wouldn't work.  Also, at that same time my adobe reader stopped working properly and I can't view mosy PDF Files.
I have gone through many of the posts on this forum and have tried many of the fixes, but none have work for me.
I tried to uninstall the Flash Player, but I didn't use the Adobe uninstaller.
Whenever I try to update or load the Flash player, a dialog box with the globe tossing papers to the folder appears and then after a few seconds I get the the message that IE can't install_flash_player_ax.exe from fp download.adobe.com, and then a message that says IE was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found.
In control panel programs I have listed
    Adobe AIR      no size
Adobe Flash Player 10 active X           no size
    Adobe Reader 9.3     141mb
    Macromedia Shockwave player      no size
In Tools i have the following add ons and they are all enabled
    Shockwave Flash object 10.0.42.34
    Adobe PDF Link Helper
    Adobe PDF Reader
Macromedia Shockwave Active X Control 10.1
As I said I've already attempted a number of the fixes on this forum, but so far no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I might try?
    Thanks

Ok, I tried to download the firefox browser but IE wouldn't let me download it.  My friend downloaded it from their computer to a flash drive and I loaded it to my computer from the flash drive.  The download of Firefox from the flash drive worked, and now I'm using Firefox & both my adobe flash player and my adobe reader are working just great.
However, neither the flash player nor the reader are working if I use IE, so I guess I will just have to use Firefox as my browser.
I'm going to mark my question as answered since I really don't care that I have to use Firefox instead of IE,although I can't understand why it works using Firefox but not using IE.
Thank you so much for your assistance in walking me step-by-step through this problem until I was able to reach a satisfactory solution.

  • Cannot uninstall, update, or open Adobe Reader 9.3.1

I am running Windows XP 32-bit.  I recently updated to Adobe Reader X and want to uninstall Adobe Reader 9.3.1, but cannot. I have tried uninstalling using Add/Remove Programs, I have tried updating to 9.3.2 by downloading the appropriate update file from adobe.com, and I have tried opening Adobe Reader 9 to ask for updates from the Help menu.  None of these worked, because as soon as I tried to "Remove" Adobe Reader 9 in the first instance, as soon as I tried to open the executable update file in the 2nd instance, and as soon as I clicked on Adobe Reader 9 to open it in the 3rd instance, I got the same message: "This patch package could not be opened.  Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."
I think this problem may be related to the fact that I recently did a System Restore on my computer because I had a virus that was not being caught by Norton Antivirus.  After the System Restore, I fully updated all my programs and Mozilla plug-ins, which caused Adobe Reader X to download.  Since I no longer need Adobe Reader 9, I'd like to get it off my computer.
The only thread I could find on this issue in this forum was from March 2010, and the user was referred to the Windows Installer Clean-up Utility.  This utility is no longer available from Microsoft, so I couldn't resolve the issue with that method.
Thanks for any suggestions you may have!  I am not especially computer savvy, so detailed instructions are much appreciated.

The Windows Installer Cleanup Utility is still available on 3rd-party download sites, e.g. http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459

  • Is it possible to change the version of Flash Player that Adobe Reader 9 uses?

I'm currently attempting to put some flash content within a pdf using the new Rich Media extensions.  I have a working Flash .swf  that uses some of the newer methods that only Flash Player 10 supports.  The file can run on its own within Flash Player 10, but inside Adobe Reader 9 the flash player version is set to WIN 9,0,159,0 and the .swf file does not work.  Is there any way to change the version of the Flash Player used in Adobe Reader 9?

    Try code like this:
    <pre><nowiki>#window-controls .toolbarbutton-icon {
    width: 25px !important;
    height: 25px !important;
    </nowiki></pre>
The three buttons have these IDs:
    <pre><nowiki>#minimize-button
    #restore-button
    #close-button</nowiki></pre>

  • 39L4333DG - cannot display Flash content in web browser

    Hello,
When I try to access Flash sites the web browser shows 'Missing plugin' in the frame where flash player should display the content.
    Am I omitting anything?
I have installed the latest firmware: 7.1.90.34.01.1.
For a 2013 TV it is annoying not to have a full featured web browser on a SMART TV.
Is there any chance to have a full web browser in the next firmware version?
    Thank you.

When I had similar problems the response from Toshiba was that the browser is only intended for limited use. My problem was not being able to access any site which required a password. Not rocket science you would think!
