Cannot access iTunes 'playlist' from iPhoto 6.0.6

Hi, 5-29-07
I am using iPhoto 6.0.6 and iTunes 7.1.1 (5). I want to use a playlist with my slideshow, and have read several postings with instructions on how to do this (great forum, by the way).
For some reason, this version of iPhoto does not look like the descriptions the other posts give, and I can only access one iTunes level--probably root library, and select only single songs that repeat incessantly.
Any help would be great. Had a family reunion lately and everyone is bugging me for a slideshow DVD.
Thanks.

You might be searching for the elusive dimple: have a look at this thread

Lori has a screenshot that might be helpful. Even if your window has just a dropdown menu, there will still be the dimple.

Cannot access iTunes Store from iPhone 4. Message says 'Your iTunes password was incorrect. Please try again'. I have tried resetting the password on my macbook. What should I do?

I'm having the same problem as well.  I use keychain access often to remind me of my passwords and was happy (initially) to see one for "iphone backup".  When I entered it I got the same error message:
"The password you entered to unlock your iPhone backup file was incorrect. Please try again."
    Really frustrating.
I searched many ways online, finally I tried "iPhone Backup Unlocker" to help me unlock encrypted backup password efficiently!

    Try this:
    1. Settings>General>Date & Time>Turn off set automatically
    2. Set date one year ahead
    3. Go back to iTunes and try again.
    4. You will get the same error.
    5. Go back to settings general date and time and turn back on 'set automatically'
Try connecting to iTune Store again.

  • I cannot access itunes store from PC but can from iPad?

    Does anyone have any ideas?
Since upgrading PC to v 11.1.2.31, (and perhaps phone/iPad to ios 7.0.3??), although I can access iTunes I cannot access iTunes Store via my PC to sign in.  I keep getting the message to the effect  "iTunes Store is busy. Please try later".  I can sign in ok on my IPad and iPhone without difficulty.
I have followed all the Apple Support advice, I think.  So far I have reinstalled the software, have checked the Firewall is not blocking iTunes, have rebooted the router several times (in all other respects the Internet is behaving normally), I have cleared the Local and Roaming cache etc.
    Thanks,

  • How to access iTunes playlist for iPhoto slideshow?

In iPhoto 6 when I am setting up a slideshow and click the "Music" button, I am given the option of accessing my full library from iTunes, but my Playlists don't show up anywhere, just the artists' names and individual songs,so I am able to choose just one song for an entire slideshow. How can I access my playlists in the Music settings for iPhoto slideshows?

I have the same problem, I click the arrows and the list drops but I can only select first tune from , sample, garage band, or library. This happens every time I install an update. In the past deleting iTunes playlist has cured the problem but has not worked this time.

  • Cannot access help file from iPhoto

IPhotos cannot access iPhoto's tutorial from the apps help window.   Apple diagnostics indicates my network is functional and passes diagnostics.   iPhoto cannot access my wifi network.  The message also says to check back later.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 10 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • Can't access iTunes playlists in iPhoto

I'm trying to put together a slideshow and the playlists that iPhoto lists are older ones from iTunes, not the current ones I have now. Even if I skip the playlists and try to pick a song from the iTunes library, it defaults to the "You got a friend in me" song. I've thought about trashing the preferences in iPhoto, but I don't want to lose all my iPhoto albums and events.
    Any ideas?

That sounds more like an issue with iTunes sharing than iPhoto.
So, in the iTunes Folder you'll find a file called iTunes Music Library.xml
This is the file other apps read when they integrate with iTunes. Try move that to the desktop, launch iTunes and it will re-create the file. Quit and restart iPhoto. Is that better?
If not, can other apps see the full iTunes Library? iMovie for instance?
I've thought about trashing the preferences in iPhoto, but I don't want to lose all my iPhoto albums and events.
    You wouldn't.
This only records your User options for the app. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.
    *What's the plist file?*
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.
