How do I access iTunes store from Windows XP computer?

says "accessing iTunes store" but won't work. no error message, itunes store just never opens
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

    i had the same problem before using a fresh install of Windows 8.1.  I have resolved this issue by running the program compatibility wizard.  This I did by right-clicking on the iTunes icon in the desktop, selecting Troubleshoot compatibility, waited for it to detect compatibility issues and when presented with the following options: 1.) Try recommended settings; 2.) Troubleshoot program, I chose the latter.  When asked what problems I noticed, I checked the following: "The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't install or run" and "The program requires additional permission"
    After that, it tired to resolve the issue, and provided the necessary settings to run iTunes.  Now it's running flawlessly.  I have Avast anti-virus installed though.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
    (Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
    In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
    If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
    Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
    If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • I can't access iTunes store on my Windows desktop since yesterday.

    I got a new Windows 7 allienware desktop this week, and I installed iTunes at the first time. I can access iTunes store via the software at the first day I installed, but I can't access iTunes store on my Windows desktop since yesterday. It always says there is a problem and I need to close iTunes when I try to access iTunes store. I tried to uninst all the related files of iTunes and reinstalled, but it still donesn't work. Now I can't download anything via my new desktop. What should I do to fix it?

    Looks like we are not alone...... Must be some problem with the software! Hope it can be solved soon!

    Does anyone have any ideas? 
    Since upgrading PC to v 11.1.2.31, (and perhaps phone/iPad to ios 7.0.3??), although I can access iTunes I cannot access iTunes Store via my PC to sign in.  I keep getting the message to the effect  "iTunes Store is busy. Please try later".  I can sign in ok on my IPad and iPhone without difficulty.
    I have followed all the Apple Support advice, I think.  So far I have reinstalled the software, have checked the Firewall is not blocking iTunes, have rebooted the router several times (in all other respects the Internet is behaving normally), I have cleared the Local and Roaming cache etc.

    Hello,
    I cannot access iTunes Store on apple TV2.  I purchased a movie, but when i got to watch it after it shows up as "Rented" it just sits at the screen "Accessing iTunes Store".  Never times, out or produces error message.  Internet is working fine, my account is fine.
    If i launch an iTunes Store Trailer, it plays fine.  Just my rented material does not play.  Also, my Netflix account does the same thing from Apple TV2.  While accessing Netflix on my laptop there is no problem.  ***!

    Having exactly the same problem.  I have completed a reset, rebooted all my equipment and completed a software update, but after I have purchased 2 movies, and have them appear as "rented", I cannot get them to load without waiting a hour.  Then, if I leave the movie, I have the same problem all over again.  I also cannot access the iTunes store.

    I have a new Nano, and for the past few days I have no been able to connect to the iTunes sztore. The message on the screen says I have to check my network connections and try again. Last successful sign in was 18th Dec.

    Thank you...problem solved! Yes I was using the same name. The issue was really for me with downloading the updates for iPhone apps. I deauthorized all, and now am able to download the updates. And play purchased music. So I know I'm good with this machine, and with the others ones when they come up I'll authorize them. Thanks again.

    I'm having the same problem as well.  I use keychain access often to remind me of my passwords and was happy (initially) to see one for "iphone backup".  When I entered it I got the same error message: 
    "The password you entered to unlock your iPhone backup file was incorrect. Please try again."
    Really frustrating.
    I searched many ways online, finally I tried "iPhone Backup Unlocker" to help me unlock encrypted backup password efficiently!
