Cannot Access Itunes

Okay. I realize that itunes is busy with the Christmas rush. But, I've done everything listed in these forums and still cannot access itunes. People are saying they are getting in, intermittantly, but I've had no luck since Christmas Day when the new Nano crashed my itunes and I had to uninstall itunes and quicktime and reinstall. Since then, the music library is okay but I cannot get into the the itunes to download new program for the nanno (we purchased two of them and have had MAJOR problems and are ready to return them...) Previous to Christmas I was operating a Mini with no problmes. I've removed pop up lockers, flushed DNS settings Changed the windows system32 drivers to "localhost and phobos.apple.com". HELP!

What do you mean downloading new program for nano? I would just connect your nano ONE AT A TIME and then click the update button. And the iTunes STORE is the only thing that could be labelled at "busy". Other than that, I would just click the update or even restore button once the nano is connected.
Cheers,
Kelsey

I have windows 8.1 and cannot access itunes store even creating a new apple id. With other users on the same computer I can access itunes store. How can I solve this?

i had the same problem before using a fresh install of Windows 8.1.  I have resolved this issue by running the program compatibility wizard.  This I did by right-clicking on the iTunes icon in the desktop, selecting Troubleshoot compatibility, waited for it to detect compatibility issues and when presented with the following options: 1.) Try recommended settings; 2.) Troubleshoot program, I chose the latter.  When asked what problems I noticed, I checked the following: "The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't install or run" and "The program requires additional permission"
After that, it tired to resolve the issue, and provided the necessary settings to run iTunes.  Now it's running flawlessly.  I have Avast anti-virus installed though.
    HTH!

Did you fail to maintain a backup copy?
If so, then you can buy a third party program to extract the music not purchased from itunes.
Itunes purchases can be transferred to your computer:  File>Transfer Purchases.

Fallout75, good catch on the eXo plugin.  To remove it, in the Finder click "Go" on the menu bar and pull down to "Go to Folder" and then type ~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins
When that Finder window opens, you should see an "eXo" subdirectory.  Just delete that "eXo" folder and iTunes should start without the error.

  • I cannot access iTunes on my desktop.  Works fine on my laptop.  Message says "The iTunes Library .itl is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission."  The disk is not locked.

I cannot access iTunes from my deskyop.  Worked great until a couple of days ago, then I now get the message that "The iTunes Library .itl is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file."  I have not turned on any parental controls on the desktop.  I have reloaded iTunes several times.  No luck.  I've run virus scans several times.  No luck.  I've restarted & tuned off the computer several times.  No luck.  I've uninstalled iTunes then reinstalled several times.  No luck.  Any thoughts?

To solve this issue all I did was check to ensure that the file permissions were set as described by the earlier posts, followed by simply deleting the iTunes Library Genius.itdb file.  Once the file was deleted I was able to open iTunes without difficulty.  Note that I am running Windows 8.  Hope this helps!

  • Had to reinstall os ,and cannot access itunes although backed on time machine help

had to reinstall OS last july after exel update installed virus  and cannot access itunes although backed on time machine help

You should still be able to recover your media through iTune's "open" feature:
Connect your time machine drive and navigate to it in Finder.
Open the backup.backupd (or similar) folder.
    Pick a recent date (folder)
Pick through to your home folder
drag the music folder onto itunes in the dock
Hope this helps, It might not be very clear.

  • I cannot access itunes store from PC but can from iPad?

    Does anyone have any ideas?
Since upgrading PC to v 11.1.2.31, (and perhaps phone/iPad to ios 7.0.3??), although I can access iTunes I cannot access iTunes Store via my PC to sign in.  I keep getting the message to the effect  "iTunes Store is busy. Please try later".  I can sign in ok on my IPad and iPhone without difficulty.
I have followed all the Apple Support advice, I think.  So far I have reinstalled the software, have checked the Firewall is not blocking iTunes, have rebooted the router several times (in all other respects the Internet is behaving normally), I have cleared the Local and Roaming cache etc.
    Thanks,

Brian recently posted instructions for a fix from Bsecure, Mom. See the following topic:
bsecure has issued a fix for itunes 10.5 conflict

  • Cannot access iTunes - HELP

With the upgrade I cannot access iTunes due to 'unexpected error'.
It say it's the visualiser plug-in. But I cannot uninstall Quicktime (which is what I presume it the cause) as the installer is not compatible with this OS (apparently) - it won't let me get past the drive selection to chose uninstall.
I have also already tried reinstalling iTunes and Quicktime (which I can't do).
Any suggestions how to fix this?

I had the same problem. Tracked mine down to Foxy Music Plug In that i had installed through Firefox. Went to ~\Library\itunes\plugins and deleted the plug in, rebooted and its all good now.
    Hope this helps

  • Another "Cannot access iTunes store" post

I have an iMac and each of my kids have a Macbook. I can access the iTunes store just fine on my iMac, and on the Macbooks when I'm in my admin account. But it hangs when trying to access from either of my kids' user accounts on the Macbooks. I've ruled out parental controls being the problem since there is nothing set that would affect it and I've tried unsuccessfully to access with the parental controls disabled. I've also tried repairing permissions. Still no go. Has anyone come across any fixes for this?

I have written of a similar problem -- I cannot access iTunes from my MacBook unless I'm at my home ISP, Wildblue, which is satellite to a wireless router. When I take my MacBook to any hotspot in town or in my town-office, it won't access iTunes, though other computers in those areas do.
I found out that if I hook an ethernet DSL cable into my MacBook, and not use Airport, I suddenly CAN access iTunes -- it's the only way I can access iTunes when I'm not at home... really strange. So, you might try plugging into a wire and see if that helps.

  • Cannot access itunes. says installed by a later version,, says network installed..look for itunes.msi..??? HELP

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
