Cannot access Lightroom!

VERY frustrated, could not access Lightroom to finish a very important project that was due yesterday. I called and was on hold for over an hour so I hung up as it was by then after 5:00. I called again first thing this morning and was prompted to leave my phone number for a call back "within the hour" and no one called. I just repeated that process and now am waiting for up to 90 minutes for this elusive call back. In the meantime I am falling farther and farther behind with my work. The message I get when trying to get onto Lightroom 5 is "Catalog 5 is corrupt and needs to be repaired. Nothing I have done has fixed the problem. I tried to re-download this program and it will not let me.......

I did do a backup not long ago. Forgive me as I am completely new at both Lightroom and working on the cloud so I really don't know what I am doing here. Really frustrated Adobe is not returning my calls.
How would I load a backup catalog? I have no idea what i am doinbg here..........

    That's the reply I got from Adobe,when I did this is showed up on the CC app as not being installed Photoshop and Bridge were also showing up on CC as not being installed so I reinstalled them as well.
    BTW did you reboot after uninstalling?

    When did you make the purchase? Can you try signing out of the CC desktop app, and then signing back in?

    right click the installation file and click 'run as administrator'.

  • Lightroom 3: cannot access color management / print dialog

    Whenever I go to print anything in Lightroom 3 (or CS5 for that matter), I cannot access the print / color management settings in the print dialog box. The words are there with black lines through them, with the warning that the bundle doesn't match the architecture - or something like this. I have installed the newest print driver software (Epson 2200, work horse). Help! I have not been able to solve the problem with Adobe either.

    After trying to figure this out for weeks, I did find a related post on Lightroom's Facebook page. It is the 64 bit issue. To solve, highlight the application icon, go to "Get Info" dialog box, and click on "open in 32 bit mode". Same applies for CS5.  Good Lord, what a hassle.

    Backup catalogs wouldn't have helped with this problem anyway, but naturally, you shouldn't delete backup catalogs for a while.

  • Cannot find Lightroom help

    When I try to access Lightroom help from the help menu I get a windows message that "windows cannot find.............adobe lightroom\resources\fr\help\help.html".
    I guess the problem is that I use an English version (the ....en\help\help.html is actually present) on a PC in France.
    How and where can I correct the path to the English help menu?

    ok, I think I solved the problem. I changed the en folder name to fr and it seems to work.

    Sorry for the long delay.  I have Windows 8.1  and using Lightroom 5.7  I have organized my unedited RAW format photos in files on my hard drive in folders in My documents/pictures.  Once I edit them I move them to another folders on a separate drive and discard the rejects.
    When trying to access my documents by selecting .File - Import from another catalog- my documents/ pictures; I see the folders, however when I select it, it says No items to match your search  When using the drop down menu on the lower right I can only see the images if I click on "all files" and when I click on the image I want to import,  it says "Lightroom cannot import this catalog; "The catalog does not appear to be a valid Lightroom catalog"
    All of this happend when I loaded a Cannon Pro 100 printer plug-in.  I tried to disable the plugin, but It is still happining and cannot access the images.

    I can't open Lightroom 5.3.  I have been working with it fine, and whle importing a folder I got the blue screen of death.  Since then it will start to open and then give an error window saying it cannot access my preview cache and needs to quit.  I have rebooted multiple times, no help.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, also no help.

    In your operating system, delete your preview cache. It is in the same folder as your catalog file, named Previews.Lrdata. Do not delete your catalog file. Restart Lightroom.

    I see several discussions on this matter, however I dot no see clear solution which helped everybody.
    My problem with OS Lion that I cannot access my Gigabit NAS External Hard Drive from Verbatim. It can be accessed from any Windows machine, but not from my iMac.
    The weird thing here is when I use Finder I see the list of shares on my NAS but cannot get into any of them.
    However, with Terminal I can go in, copy files, make directories, etc. Also, I can see my photos stored on the NAS using Lightroom.
    It seems that the only problem - is the Finder. But it's a big issue, because it's most handy way to manage my files.
    Is there any solution?

    to solve your problem you need:
    1- Update the firmware to:

    2- Open terminal and use this command to mount:
         sudo mount -t nfs -o resvport <server ip address>:/mnt/ide1/<sharename> /<mounting point>
    OR: apple+K (( connect to server)):
         smb://username:password@<server address>/<sharename>

    Having let a free trial period (cloud) expire - I don't want to sign up, I now cannot access my Adobe Photoshop CS6 at all, or any of the Lightroom images I have processed in CS6 - what's going on?

    Without a valid activation, the programs and their components simply cease to function. That is to be expected and perfectly within what a "trial" is all about. If you want to continue using these features, you have to buy CS6/ sign up for a subscription. As far as your images are concerned, depending on teh format otehr programs may be able to open them (read the part about salvaging PSDS on my Work File Safety article), but there may be limitations and naturalyl Adobe-specific features won't be avialable.
