When resetting your password, did you turn on two-step authentication? If you did, the Mail App isn't compatible with it - either, you need to create an application password and use that to log in using the iPhone Mail App, (instead of your Microsoft Account password) or disable two-step authentication to make it work.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Then tap Settings > Safari > and Tap Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
Now tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar and re-enter your email account credentials.

I've done everything possible and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions.?????

Have you tried to completely sign out of iCloud and then adding it back again? By the way, a software update to the latest version of OSX could also help to fix it (think about it, because Mavericks is a free upgrade).

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does it work in the new account?

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

I cannot log into my yahoo mail account from my iphone4. The password does not have any special characters. On my PC there is no problem.
Also cannot configure Add Yahoo mail. I woould get a message, stating "Verification required. Log into your Yahoo! account at www.yahoo.com". when I attempt this I get "Invalid ID/Password".

Tried eveyrhting and this was the way that fixed it for me --
if you are having an issue adding the yahoo mail account on an iphone/ ipad / ipod.
In the app store download the yahoo mail app for iphone (it works on ipads and ipods as well.. but there's only an iphone version). After downloading it - open and sign in. It's likely it will say that your yahoo account is 'locked' due to suspicious activity - follow the prompts to unlock it.
Now add the yahoo account under the ipad mail settings.
It should work in the regular ipad, iphone, ipod mail application now.

I cannot access my mail whether I se my i-phone, my Mac or a PC. It is an i-Cloud account which I can access (I can see my contacts, my calendars) but the mail does not work. Can anybody help?

Let's look at your iPhone setup. Go to Settings > iCloud.
1. Is Mail set to "On"?
2. Press "Account" at the top when at Settings > iCloud. Are your Apple ID and password set correctly at the top?
3. Go to the bottom of that account display. Look at the "Mail" line. Is your iCloud mail address properly displayed?
4. Go back to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars Is there an iCloud account shown there?
