Cannot access search engine - maybe "search" is not recognised as a context

Hello,
I cannot access the search engine
http://server:port/search
doest not work.
Maybe it is linked to another problem:
I wanted to make a mapping between a
context and a directory,
but "additional directory document" does not work.
So I created another Web Application
(in web-apps.xml)
so maybe search is not recognised as a context.
well I don't know, and I wish someone had this problem and has a clue.

and sorry for the poor description
- the request to access the search functions of Sun One
is: http://server:port/search
- If I define a web app (in web-apps.xml)
with an empty context
and whose document root is /docroot,
the request http://server:port/search
does not work
error: "file /docroot/search not found"
- If I define a non empty context for my app
the request http://server:port/search is OK,
but I will have to make a lot of modifications
in my app :-(
Do you think there is a way to make Sun One 6 understand
that "/search" is not a subdirectory of
my app even if my app has an empty context?

1. Use free AdwareMedic by clicking “Download ” from here

These little known facts about Google can hurt Apple i think.
1.Google is one of the most powerful companies a multimillion dollar empire to say the least could one day supreme leaders.
2. Googles homepage loads the fastest out of any search engine,I will agree but does it sound like to me a Challenge I think so???
3.Google has 2 million searches in a second, why couldn't apple beat that by doubling that?
4. Google owns Youtube, android where as apple well they hold their self so why shouldn't they create a video page such as like youtube?
My point being Google is great and all I use it as my search engine because its plain jane but what I don't understand is why apple hasn't created a Search Engine 10x better then google because in my eyes nothing beats an APPLE? Apple a day keeps the doctor away they say well I believe that when I don't have to buy Norton security or any of that bull crap, once again why don't Apple create a virus protected Search Engine yeah I know nothing is perfect but a safe search engine would be awesome for them sorry microsoft users lol. 3rd Party Search Engine Integration - some property not rendering

Hi,
I have tried to integrate a 3rd Party Search Engine into TREX following the published example.
I have successfully integrated and search results from the 3rd party engine are showing up.
However, some properties like cm_description, cm_contentlength, cm_modifedby are not rendering; their value are null; the search layout are specified correctly.
I only managed to set
1) cm_displayname
2) cm_contenttype
3) cm_id
and are showing up.
The setting of the rest of the properties are done in the same way and put into the propertymap.
Any idea why are the not rendering?? Any help appreciated. Thanks!

I tried to deploy the original package com.customer.search.par, but unfortunately I got also an error with this package.
The disadvantage is, that I don't get an error message during start-up in one of the logger - for cause analysis.
I got the following error message within KM:

This is probably not really a Firefox support question if it relates to Search engines.
The Google Search used is an HTTPS version and so that helps with security. Firefox itself has some security features built in. You may find these articles of interest.

Two issues: Mail dotcom is now telling me to enable java in my browser and firefox has issues w/duckduckgo search engine. I am not allowed 2 instal DDG n search

2 issues: After a windows update on 5 10 2012, maildotcom says I need to enable java in my browser, when as far as I can tell, it is.
Second issue is, I am not able to add duckduckgo as my preferred search engine. I get a pop up in search tool add-ons that says "sorry, you need a Mozilla based browser to install a search plug in."
Why and how can these irritations be fixed?

Everytime I open a search engine I get the not responding message

Every time I open a search engine site (any) and place my request.
When the answers come up and I click on one of them my PC will freeze with a Mozilla Firefox is not responding and then I lose the whole page which becomes blank. I have to re-boot to start again.
I need the search engines and I can't use them if I don't want my PC to collapse.
Please help !!!!

Can not remove yahoo search engine from search bar

I have tried to use the suggestions listed but I am very dense and need a walk through. How do I permenently remove yahoo search from my list of search engines?
I can remove it by manage search engines... but it comes back.

I had the same problem...I searched many forums for answers...Finally this one works.
Click Start....Click Run...enter this:
c:\program files\mozilla firefox\searchplugins
A page opens showing all the search engines in firefox.
Simply right click the ones you do not want and delete.
It has been a week now and Google is still my only Search engine

Search Engine Toolbar inactive - will not search when enter pressed

I recently upgrade to Firefox 5 from Firefox 3.6. The Search toolbar worked great in 3.6 but now in 5 when I type into the search engine I get suggested results but when I hit "enter" to perform the search nothing happens. I tried to switch different search engines but get the same problem. Any ideas?

Why is there no default search engine in search box ?

I have reset Firefox but the searchbox at the top right hand side has no default search engine or any others so I cannot do a search.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

An add-on to force firefox switch back to default search engine in search bar

Hi,
I have a couple search engines installed in firefox's search bar. I find it extremely annoying that each time I change the search engine it remains like that even after restarting firefox. Is there any add-on that would switch back to the one that is on the top of the list (which happens to be my default search engine for navigation bar as well) every time I restart the browser?
Let me give you an example: I use duckduckgo as a default search engine for the nav bar and in the search bar. Let's say I need to find a definition for which I use wikipedia search engine. I switch to wikipedia one then. I turn off the browser and the next time I start firefox the search engine that appears in the search bar is wikipedia and I would prefer it to be duckduckgo.

Easiest is to set the preferred default engine to the preferred search engine via the user.js file in the Firefox profile folder by copying the related user_pref() line to this file.
The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
You can search the about:config page for browser.search. to locate the pref(s) that you need.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
* Create the chrome folder (lowercase) in the <xxxxxxxx>.default profile folder if this folder doesn't exist

* Make sure that you select "All files" and not "Text files" when you save the file via "Save file as" in the text editor as user.js Otherwise Windows may add a hidden .txt file extension and you end up with a not working user.js.txt file

Cant add or change search engines in search bar

When I try to add search engines on the search bar via the Manage Search Engines... option it takes me to:

which is just a list of 5 search addons that have nothing to do with adding search engines to the search bar.
My main problem is the default google that is provided:

I want google.com not google.com/firefox

How can I find search engines for search bar?

This is actually a suggestion; but, when I tried the suggestion page, it appeared that nothing was happening when I hit the "Submit" button. (Yes, JavaScript was enabled.) Here is what I wrote:
From the search bar drop down "Manage Search Engines" dialogue, there is a link called "Get more search engines." That sends you to addons.mozilla.org, which I find to be almost useless for finding a search engine add-on. Why not send the user to the Mycroft Project, http://mycroft.mozdev.org/? That is vastly more helpful. I tried to find "Google News" at the add-ons site and failed completely. I also tried "Rotten Tomatoes" and got a poor one there. However, at Mycroft, searches for the above two immediately returned good results. I did not know about Mycroft until I complained, on the Firefox forum, about my inability to find Google News.
