Cannot access song checkmarks

In iTunes 10.6.3.25, on Windows 7, I can no longer access song checkmarks after selecting Music in the Library on the left panel.
When I right-click the column headings, no relevant check field is listed.
When I highlight song(s) and right-click, no option to Check or Uncheck the song(s) is offered.
So I have no control over which titles are synced to my Touch device.
How can I manage my title selection for syncs?
Thanks!

Go to Edit/Preferences/General and on that tab, about half-way down, is a small tick box named Show list tickboxes and that needs to have a tick in it.

  • Just dowloaded my ipod classic into a new pc but cannot access songs

I just downloaded my itunes into my PC and connected my labtop but unable to access songs on ipod classic, help

Your question is a bit terse, so let's explore this.
You have connected the latest iTunes. Please confirm the version, as well as the software version of your iPod Classic.
Can iTunes see your iPod? That is, when you connect the iPod, does it show up as a device in iTunes? If so, you should be able to then click on the diamond and see the music on the iPod.
Do you have the same music in your iTunes as in your iPod?

I had a very similar problem. I came across this post early on and it did not have an answer or help me with my situation - so, when I got my situation fixed, I thought I would come back and give my solution to see if it would help.
Reset ipod (toggle hold then hold down menu and select buttons until apple appears on screen)
Remove iTunes 9 (drag to trash)
download iTunes 8 (easy to find with a google search)
Install itunes 8, after installation when you open iTunes it will tell you the library was created with a new version... so what! restart iTunes while holding down the option key. tell it to create a NEW library- name it what ever your not going to use it.
plug in the iPod... i got an error saying the firmware on ipod was not the same as itunes and to install additional ipod support from OSx disk... DO IT! (additional software - ipod support)
    restart mac
open itunes plug in ipod and it should recognize it.... now it should tell you that your ipod has a firm ware update... do it! Once that is finished and has rebooted your ipod and you can see it again in the itunes menu- update itunes back to version 9.
Done! Simply point your itunes music folder back to where all your tunes are located and import the entire thing (my itunes folder is about 40gb and this took only 5 minutes)
resync music to your ipod and you are done. and you are on the newest version of itunes with your classic ipod!

  • Cannot download (song name) because not enough access priveleges.

I am new to this forum desperate for answers to figure out what the error message means Cannot download (song name) because you do not have enough access priveleges. Please check that the network connection is active and try again.
I have been onto the itunes help people and they weren't particularly helpful, then my friend suggested to google the error message and a ton of messages came up including this forum. Someone had posted that you have to check that you have read and write priveleges for your music folder. It said in finder right click and then click get info and click something else and make sure its set except i dont know what "finder" is and whereever i rightclicked and got get info it was for a song title not for a folder.
I am using the latest version of itunes and windows XP. I am a reasonably new user to itunes. I have already turned off the firewall which was what the itunes help people suggested and it did nothing.
    Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    from Erin

    HI katrina
thankyou for replying i went to the folder and did as you said and unclicked "read only" then i clicked apply. I went back into itunes which is still throwing out the same error message on some songs but not all of them and tried to download the ones that had been rejected by the error message but unfortunately the error is still occuring.
Any other ideas? I have asked everyone i can think of about this.
I am wondering if it has something to do with this administrator stuff? I am currently a computer administrator on windows XP anyway but i read in the help section if you hold shift and right click then you can choose run as except i do not have a password for my account normally and there is the option of run as "administrator" but it wants a password which i do not have. My father in law made this computer and i have also asked him although he knows nothing about itunes as he has never used it i am sure it has something to do with windows not the itunes program i just dont know what.
I could always be wrong on that too! the other idea someone had was to uninstall and reinstall the program which is a bit of a pain and it may not solve the issue.
any more ideas on this greatly appreciated.

  • Updated my itunes software as requested online, cannot access my songs?

Updated my existing itunes software on my laptop as requested online and now I cannot access my songs from any of the itunes files?
When I click on a song it says; the song " "could not be located because the original file could not be found.
How do I get my songs back?

I charged & tried a different USB and got the same thing, but figured out that if I plug it in and then open iTunes rather than the other way around it recognises the device. Go figure! The playcount still doesn't update though But thanks for your advice anyway!

  • Since I put my music on the cloud, I cannot access it without downloading each song individually. I thought I was going to be able to stream from the cloud without downloading.

Since I put my music on the cloud, I cannot access it without downloading each song individually. I thought I was going to be able to stream from the cloud without downloading. Each download takes over a minute and I have 2000 songs! How can I just listen to my music again without downloading each and every song??? BTW, I purchased the iPhone 5S hoping that this issue would be solved with more memory - it's not. At this point I just want to remove the whole cloud-thing from my phone and go back to only having the songs on one device, no download required except the original iTunes purchase. How do I do this???

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
It sounds as though you misunderstood the purpose of iTunes Match. You still need to have the content on the device to play it.
However it's effectively no different than before in that you keep your most played content on your phone but are able to download stuff you rarely play should you ever wish to.
There's no value whatsoever in iTunes Match unless your library doesn't fit on your phone.

I have reset my Apple ID & Password but I still cannot access the music I purchased using another computer, ID & PW. It keeps saying that my computer is not authorize to play the songs. I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. Help!

iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

  • Cannot access itunes store or downloaded songs

I have been purchasing songs from itunes for the last year with absolutely no problems.
Yesterday I went to access the itunes store and received an error message that "itunes could not connect to the itunes store - make sure your network connection is active and try again".
    1. My connection is active
    2. I tried to "flush" the dns and was successful
    3. I upgraded to the latest version of itunes
Now, itunes will not allow me to play any of my purchased songs. A new window pops up saying that i need to authorize these songs to be played on this computer. When I type my password and hit "authorize", I get the same message as above "itunes cannot access....."
Does anyone have an answer to this? What have I done wrong?
    Thanks,
    Chris

Have you recently made any changes to your security software? Bear in mind that updates may have been downloaded without your knowledge... check your antivirus/firewall software to ensure it is not blocking iTunes traffic. Sometimes it is helpful to disable that software, and then try iTunes again. This gives you an idea of whether that's the issue... if it is, you can play with individual settings within that software to ensure it is allowing iTunes Store traffic.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    Restart your router.
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

Select a broken track and press ctrl-i to Get Info. Look on the summary tab for the location where iTunes "thinks" the file should be. Where is it really? Post back the two locations and I can suggest the best approach.
