Cannot access the Admin Consol Tasks

Hi,
When I go into the Admin Screen on SAP BPC I cannot access the Admin Consol Tasks but I can access the Web Admin Tasks and my excel is working fine.
Logoffed and retried, same problem.
Working on Version 5.1 SP4, Excel 2003.
Regards
Dean

Hi,
There can be 2 reasons for you not being able to access the Admin Tasks. I would request you to check the below things.
1. You need to check the Task Profile for your user ID and verify that you have all the necessary accesses.
2. When you login to the Admin screen, make sure that some Application is selected.
Hope this helps.

    Hi,
Please go to IIS Manager (Switch to Content View) to check the files there:
Expand Sites > Exchange Back End > 15.0.620.29 (my Exchange server is Exchange 2013 CU1). Please check whether there are any file folders under themes and Scripts folder. If there is no folder there, please copy the whole folders "Scripts"
and "Themes" or the entire folder of 15.0.620.29 (cu1) folder from Exchange Installation Path /ClientAccess/ ECP/ CU1 folder in a working machine(the same Exchange version) to the update folder on same location.
Please switch to IIS manager Feature View, go to Exchange Back End > ECP home, open Application Settings in /ecp Home, please check whether the value for “BinSearchFolders” is changed to an invalid value. If so, please change it to:
        C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\bin\CmdletExtensionAgents;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\Owa\bin.
Then run IISReset /noforce from a prompted command window to restart IIS services.
If all above doesn’t work, please collect some error logs for further analysis.

  • Silverlight error when accessing the Admin Console

Once logged in to Intune, the system overview screen paints and the website freezes.  Once the site recovers I get a Fatal Silverlight error at (0,0): 4008.  At that point I can do nothing further.  I have tried version 4 and 5 of Silverlight
and IE/Firefox browsers with no success.  It doesn't matter what PC I try it on either.  It seems to be associated with our login.  Any assistance/guidance is greatly appreciated!

  • Painfully slow access to admin console (how can I fix it?)

    Hi,
I'm using using Sun Java System Web Server Version 7.0U4 B12/02/2008 02:17 running on CentOS (Redhat EL) release 4.4.
The problem is that using the Admin Console (on port 8989) is painfully slow. It takes minutes for each page to load, but they do usually load.
Any ideas on how to fix that?
There are some other things going on that might be related and helpful to know:
I get certificate errors when I access the Admin Console (e..g, IE complains about a mismatched address). I've tried following the directions to install the certificate in IE7 and FF3, but neither has stopped bothering me about the certificate error.
I have the server behind a firewall which allows all outgoing traffic and select incoming ports to the server. The firewall also maps a public IP address to the server's local IP address (e..g, 10.10.10.8).
If I access the Admin Console locally via the LAN address (https://10.10.10.8:8989) it is no longer slow, but I get booted back to the login screen very frequently (e.g, every minute or two of casual browsing through the console), and I still get the certificate error
We haven't given the server a name, but access it by IP address, and the virtual server configuration in the Admin Console is name "localhost.localdomain"
Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! I've tried searching for solutions several times, but haven't succeeded.
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Thanks for the thoughts

sounds more like some network issues. are you running your browser on your centos 4.4 as well ? also, did you try to connect using your IP - some thing like https://<ip>:8989 ?
No, we're not running the browser on centos 4.4. We're runing browsers on laptops, connecting both offsite via public IP address and in the office via both the public IP address and the LAN ip address.
Yes, we're using the ip address as you demonstrated. This machine does not have a domain name attached, so we only connect via ip addresses (mapped public or LAN)

I've tried following the directions to install the certificate in IE7 and FF3, but neither has stopped bothering me about the certificate error.it is not a certificate error. web server 7 admin server uses a self signed certificate . this is necessary step. however, IE reports a warning when it sees a self signed certificate. it wants you to know that it does not understand who sent this certificate. you need to create an exception - saying that you know what you are doing then there won't be any certificate error ..Okay, I'll look for how to do that, but so far I've only found instructions for how to install the certificate in the browsers, and unfortunately, that hasn't made a difference.

sounds like some network misconfiguration - outside the scope of this forum.I cannot rule that out, but other servers/websites seem to work fine with this same setup. Although, only this server is using https

if you want to increase this time out, you could do so by manually editing <install-root>/lib/webapps/admingui/WEB-INF/web.xml and change the value for session-timeout to say 600 (for 10 minutes).. . pl . note that this is not a supported way and you could potentially leave others to use your session if you are careless. but, if you know what you are doing .Thanks I did that. It surprises me that the default timeout appears to be 1 minute.

    Try the following:
Restart "Windows Management Instrumentation" service in your service tray where this admin console is installed.
Or restart the admin console, if possible restart the machine and try again.
If the user (who is accessing the admin console) is to perform administrative tasks either through the BizTalk Administration console make sure user is part
of BizTalk Server Administrators group or BizTalk Server Operators group for
low privileged role that only has access to monitoring and troubleshooting actions

  • DS Web services without the admin console. Is it possible ?

    Hi
The client is concerned that they cannot enforce their password policy or integrate it with their Windows AD authentication for the admin console application. In our implementation we are using DS  batch jobs with webservices enabled. Is there any way to have the webservices running smoothly without anyone installing/accessing the admin console.
We are using Tomcat. Can we use any options at tomcat level - 'Remote Address Filter'  etc ?
If anybody has tried this, I would appreciate it if u can share the details
    thanks
    Dinesh
p.s. I have explained to the client about the functionality of the Admin console and what type of activities u can do within it. They still would like to explore options of controlling access to admin console since the jobs that are executed have sensitive data.

    Hi Werner
Thanks for your reply. Has anyone tried IP restriction at the Tomcat level, any user experience that can be shared, will it affect the webservices WSDL when external applications make a call.
Are there any plans to integrate windows AD or any authentication for the admin console

  • BPC 75 MS, "Admin Console Tasks" menu pruned from Citix

I have a small team of users that have full access to all capabilities (necessary Task Profiles)  in the Client Administration app for the desired Appset.  However, all the "Admin Console Tasks" are stripped from Administration page, when displayed and publishing to Citrix Xapp6.0.
Any ideas what may be pruning certain tasks in this environemnt?
SAP BOBP BPC 7.5 Sp6 MS
    Win 2008 R2

Perhaps the Admin Conosle was not installed properly? I uninstall the "SAP Business Planning and Consolidation Administration Client" from the Citrix Server, then again use add/remove programs and install the Admin Client again, making sure it's installed under a user that has local admin rights. You can find the executable in your BPC/PC_MS folder on the app server under \Websrvr\Web\Installation and the file name is EverestAdmin.exe. Usually when those tasks don't appear and you are certain the user has the proper BPC security set up, then the Admin Client is likely not installed properly.
Also, I don't think BPC 7.5 supports Xapp version 6 yet, only version 5.

  • Sun java system application server 8 custom realm lock the admin console up

    Hi:
I implemented a custome realm. After I installed the custom realm to Sun App server 8 PE, I can get into the admin console any more. According to the log, the user is authenticated. However, this user isn't in write group to access the admin console. What would be the user group in a custom realm to access admin console?
In version 7, even you set up custom realm the admin console still not affected by the custom realm. Why is the admin console in version 8 picking up custom realm?
    Thanks.

Previous reply was quite misleading - there is no such thing as default admin password for standalone installation of Application Server. Default values only apply to Application Server installation installed through Creator or NetBeans installer.
Otherwise, you have to specify admin user name and password at installation time. Admin username value is defaulted to "admin" so unless you changed it in your installation that should still apply. You had to enter explicit password values.
If you forgot those, you can either uninstall and reinstall or you can take a look at Troubleshooting Guide for instructions on reseting admin authentication:

    Hi,
I've a master package that calls other packages with an Execute Package Task. Sometimes we have an error: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" and sometimes not. It seems random.
We are working on a Terminal Server and the SQL Server database engine and the files are placed on another server. It seems that the errors doesn't occu when we run the packages on the server with a job. We can't log onto the windows server on this machine..

I've seen this myself. On most occasions an immediate rerun would fix the issue. As stated this happens only when we try to run this from BIDs. From SQL agent job it always runs fine.

Have you tried to go here and select your Gateway, then follow the trouble shooting tips. Most gateways/routers default passwords at one point were changed to the serial number for security reasons. If that does not work, you may try resetting the gateway/router to get back to the default. Never leave your gateway/router with the default passwords. If you get into the gateway/router a Verizon firmware upgrade if it is a Verizon model, may even change the default password to the serial number so it is not the standard D-Link that is used with all their gateways.

    Hi Paja,
Please check any weblogic process are running by using.
    ps -ef | grep java
    use " *kill -9 < pid >* "
    Now under %Domain_Home%/ bin folder.
    you will find startWebLogic.sh file.
start this one using following way.
    ./startWebLogic.sh
Once you provide your username and password
Check your last logging like this.
    *<Notice> <Server> <BEA-002613> <Channel "Default" is now listening on 10.17.62.212:7001 for protocols iiop, t3, ldap, s*
in this case 10.17.62.212 is my IP address or listen address and 7001 is my http port.
if you enable SSL list port it will also show you that one.
now try to access console using http://<IP address>:port/console
    provide username and password
Here we go to start your weblogic server.
Now in %Domain_Home%/ bin folder you will find one more .sh file says stopWebLogic.sh.
this will help you to stop the server.
Hope this is easy way to start and stop your server.
