Cannot activate Adobe Acrobat on new computer

My PC "died" but I was able to deactivate my Adobe Acrobat Pro.
My new computer is a Mac but I run windows 7 on it.
I Downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro but my serial number will not activate. I Logged in to Adobe and verified my number. What now?
How can I "talk to" a support person about this?

What error do you get when you try to activate?

You need to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues involving inaccessible machines.

To transfer the license from one pc to another the step you have to follow is to 'Deactivate' the license first from the older machine.
To accomplish this you need to Launch Acrobat, go to the 'Help' menu and select 'Deactivate'
On the new machine you can install Acrobat and then use the serial number to 'Activate' the software and this will complete the license transfer.

Unable to activate Adobe Acrobat 8

Hello,
I am unable to activate Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional, fully updated to 8.3.1 on two computers. Acrobat informs me that my computer is not connected to the internet, but it is. Phone activation does not work as the activation phoneline is no longer in service.
We have recently purchased two shrinkwrapped boxed copies of Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional as we use an ERP product that requires an older version of Acrobat.
Can you please let me know what we need to do?

Thanks, I have done all the necessary steps and there is nothing blocking activate.adobe.com. I have also spoken to Adobe support via chat and they've told me the activation server used for Acrobat 8 has been shut down so how am I supposed to activate the software when 1) the activation phoneline has been shut down and 2) the activation server has been shut down.
Seems incredibly bad form to me. I apprecate it's an older product but the policy cannot simply be to shut people out of installing older software on newer computers. The software was purchased retail and shrinkwrapped.

Have you tried installing it or are you just assuming you cannot. You are normally allowed to install and activate on two machines.

I've tried to download that version, but the installation date given for
the program shown on my computer indicates it is the old version, which
I had used for making chapter illustrations I needed a few months ago
(under the 30 day grace period for updating what I hadn't realized was
an old program). That is also the one that stated when I tried to open
it that the serial number was incorrect (taken from the WIN CS2 line on
the table in the provided Adobe). Is it possible that I need to
uninstall my original CS2 version (which I had downloaded from the disk
seven or so years ago)? Is that program preventing the "upgrade"
("retrograde"?) from the website?
Later- I have also just discovered a charm for additional Photoshop
program labeled "Adobe Image Ready CS2" on my start window. It appears
to function like the original CS2. Is that the non-activation version
you mention and that I had indeed downloaded this CS2 version? If so,
that's it. If so also, should I delete the original CS2 program or is it
needed for the Image Ready CS2 version to properly function?

You need to go under the help menu option and sign out from Muse and then install it on the other computer that you want using the creative cloud desktop app.

I cannot install Adobe Acrobat Pro on my windows XP machine with SP2 and the latest updates.
The error says that the software cannot be installed on the Operating system, please see minimum requirements. I meet all these but cannot install
I saw a similar question posted on the forums but it is unanswered.

This link has the minimum system requirements for Acrobat 10 Pro : Acrobat X Pro Tech Specs
On Windows XP, the minimum requirement is SP3 for 32 bit. I would recommend that you update to SP3 by running Windows Update and then reinstall the application.

Hi Pat..When I tried to run Fix It the computer pops up a screen that says this trouble shooter does not apply to this computer .The article refers to Internet Explorer 10 and Im running Internet Explorer 11. I did try to see it it would fix my problem but the registry entry does not exist on my computer (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\TabProcGrowth) I can get as far as HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer but I dont have the option to choose Main. I only have the option to choose New Window which does not open up when clicked. Internet Explorer also has no value. Is there anything else I should try?

It does not magically appear in a new place. It will only be where you put it.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
