Cannot activate, license thought installation in old breakdown hard disk still there
I have a geunine license. But I cannot do activitation now, I think it is because my computer had several times of hard disk breakdown problem and I needed to replace hte hard disk and re-installed the CS suite before. So the license number thought I have exceeded the installation limit. But in fact this is the single only one computer I amd working on. Now I have no way could deactivate the previous installation. What should I do?
Please contact Customer care (http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/contact.html) or chat with an Adobe Tech (http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html?promoid=FDLAV) and they would be able to increase the activation count for you after validating.

my mac is installing yosemite and reboots but then there is no installation and the old system (mavericks) is still there?!
Re-downloading of films is currently only available in the US (due to film studio restrictions), and not all films can be re-downloaded there as not all film studios are allowing it. Have you not got a copy of them on your computer and/or on a backup ? If not then you can try contacting Apple, but they are under no obligation to let you re-download them : http://www.apple.com/uk/support/itunes/contact/

I cannot drag folders onto my 1 tb hard-disk. Do you know why? I can transfer things to my computer but I cannot drag them from my computer to the hard-disk..
You can reformat the drive but that will wipe all the data on it. Move everything to your Mac. Reformat the drive using Disk Utility. If you need both Mac and Windows access, I suggest ExFAT. Then move it all back

Hi again,
Please try this:
Reinstall Acrobat 8.
Connect to the Internet.
Choose Help > Deactivate or Help > Transfer Activation.
If you want to activate on another computer, select Erase My Serial Number From This Computer.
When you see the Deactivation Successful message, click Exit.
If that doesn't work, you may need to Contact Customer Care.

Remove windows Installation from Old WD hard drive and Install Fresh Copy on the New One.
Hi Community! I just bought a new WD Blue 1 TB hard drive, my old hard drive is WD Blue caviar 500 GB, running on Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit.
There are two things I wish to do: 1. Firstly, if it's possible, I would like to copy some videos, images, music etc. from my OLD Drive to the new one.
Please note that, I don't have an external disk to do it, I know that would've been less complicated, but that's not an option at this point. 2. Secondly, once that is done, if possible, I want to remove windows 7 installation from my old hard drive, re-partition it to make it just the storage drive, and finally install
fresh copy of windows 7- 64 bit to the new Hard drive.
Please note that, my old Hard drive is installed on windows 7- 32 bit and now I want to install a fresh copy of Windows 7-64bit instead of 32bit, because I am upgrading my
configuration with better ones.
I am adding 4 GB corsair vengeance ram to my 2 GB corsair ram, so that is 6 GB in total.
I am adding 1 TB hard disk to my 500 GB Hard disk, so that is 1500 GB.
Both my processor and mother board supports 64 bit.
Intel® Pentium® Processor G2020 (3M Cache, 2.90 GHz) And this Mother board - "Biostar H61MGV3"I know that you could clone the partition and migrate the installation from one hard drive to another using the Acronis True Image WD Edition Software, but I don't want that.
In simple words, say I have a dos computer, I installed my 1TB WD hard drive, installed a fresh copy of windows 7-64bit. So my computer is up and running. Now, I have another hard
drive which I wish to use, that is 500GB WD, but it has Windows 7-32 bit installed in it.
So what I want to do is, make this old hard drive a complete 500 gb storage device and remove the windows installation from it, without loosing music, videos, etc. and then lastly
copying the music and other media to the new hard drive, and formatting it completely.
I am perhaps making this very complicated, I know you would have better easier solution for this.
I am frustrated, your help would be appreciated, thanks a lot. Sincerely, AbeSince you don't want to clone the drive (I agree with you), you can just swap drives and install Windows on the new drive. Windows won't complain that you are installing on a different drive because it only cares if you change more than one piece of hardware at a time. The problem will arise when you copy the files from the old drive because you cannot just connect it via SATA. That would confuse Windows, as both installations were run on that hardware. You need to mount it in an external dock via USB 2.0/3.0 which will isolate the details of the OS. After you copy all necessary files, you can use WDC Lifeguard to write zeros to the entire disk and then create a new partition. After that you can mount it via SATA because it will be a new drive. Do NOT be in a hurry to wipe the drive however, as you don't want to forget something.

Hard Disks Still in Good Condition But Cannot Be Recognized
We have just retired two 250GB harddisks from server service to give way to bigger drives running on 10.4.11 Server version. These drives have 10.3.9 Server edition installed and were still working well when we pulled them out of XServe. I am trying to reformat them for storage use but they are not showing up in any of the PowerMac G4s (Tower) that I've installed them on. A technician earlier warned me that the old drives were installed in XServe in "spiked" method, whatever that means, and they may not open when installed individually in the client Macs. I've tried to format them in target mode but they also can't be detected either by our iMacs running on 10.5.2 or G4s running on 10.4.11. Any thoughts? Thanks you.
Hi, Desert Stag -
A technician earlier warned me that the old drives were installed in XServe in "spiked" method....
Might the tech have said "striped"? If so, that would indicate they had been set up as part of a RAID configuration. I would think they should still be able to be formatted using Disk Utility.
If all else fails, one trick to try is to take them to a friend with a PC, and format them using that machine as a PC volume. Then bring them back to the Mac - the Mac should then be able to re-initialize them as if they were brand new drives. -

Can't access old backups, but are still there!
So i tried today to access some old backups, and lo and behold, when i open time machine, the only ones i could get to were the ones from today. I looked in sys.prefs. and it said that the oldest backup i had was, in fact what it should be, but i can't access anything older than today! How can I access my older archives?
Confirm that an entirely new backup has not been created. If only one backup folder exists, perhaps the Time Machine interface view is slow in bringing up previous backups to view.

Adding a Old PC hard disk drive as a external drive to my MBP
So around 5 years ago i got the WD-160JB hard disk drive. I want to see all the things i did back then.
I want to be able to connect this WD-160JB drive as a external hard drive to my mac.
What i am wondering is if you can somehow have a cable or something which links the USB from the MBP to the hard disk.
Suggestions?
Thanks. MattYou need a disk enclosure or a docking station. Consider the Thermaltake Docking Station that fits both laptop (2.5") and desktop drives (3.5"). This is great for upgrading your harddrive and moving everything over easily with the Disk Utilities.
Best Buy has them if you need it soon. And Best Buy will now price match Amazon! They don't advertise it, but Amazon is taking too much business away so they had to do something. You have to ask. Amazon is already programmed into their registers for price matching.
