Cannot activate my phone through itunes
Could not complete the itunes store request. The store may be busy. Try again later. This is the message I have been getting for 2 days now trying to activate my Asurion refurbished iphone 4s. A replacement they just sent me because I dropped my original iphone 4s and shattered the screen. I use Verizon and tried activating it through their website using the MEID # to no avail either.
Can someone please help???

Have a new iphone 4s with a new sim card, have successfully activated phone through itunes but it keeps saying "Searching" or "No Service", any ideas?

Like you mentioned, she bought it from the Vodafone store and most likely the phone is locked to Vodafone. But, in your case since you are using the same carrier's SIM card (Vodafone), "unlocking the phone" is not an issue. Aside from that "phone unlocking" is ONLY done by the carrier and Vodafone NZ doesn't offer unlocking. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937)
As you have already tried restoring the phone (which technically wasn't required) and SIM change, your best option is to take the phone to Vodafone store and ask them to activate it for you. -
I have a 16GB iPhone 3GS. Tried synching my phone through iTunes (11.0.1 I think... on a 2009 Macbook Pro). Now when I connect to iTunes, it says it does not recognise the content on my phone. Is this because my phone (and laptop) are too old?
Also, when I tried to Restore the settings, an Error Message pops up that says " The iPhone software update server could not be contacted. The requested resource was not found.
I'm trying to free up space on my phone by removing [literally] thousands of old photos which were originally synched to the phone, because I had forgotten to uncheck the photos button when I synched it ages ago.
I have also tried synching it on my 24" iMac (running OSX Snow Leopard). But again, when I try restoring the phone through itunes, it says the file is corrupted. It sggests unplugging the device, and then plugging it in again. I have done this numerous times with no success.
I'm guessing it must be because my phone (and versions of iTunes, and OSX) are all too old.
Please can anybody help.

i have been trying to upload more music to my iphone 3gs but whenever i try to even click on the artist or name buttons in itunes they dont get highlighted or anything all i can do is play music from my phone through itunes ... if you know of anything i have done wrong plz tell me how to fix (besides restore)
Success!! There truly is a light at the end of the tunnel. Apple support really did come through and I am successfully back into my account. Ready to purchase more music. I followed the instructions, with patience I thought I lost, submitted my problem, someone emailed me back within two days and all is now perfect. Thanks again Apple.

Be careful, when you connect the iPhone to your mac, unless you have saved the photos. Synced photos may easily be accidentally deleted by syncing again. And do not enable iCloud Photo Library (Beta), that will erase synced photos as well. Synced Photos are not included in the device backups.
Set your iTunes Preferences to "Devices > Prevent iPos, iPhones, iPads from syncing automatically". Otherwise iTunes may launch and sync your iPhone with an empty iPhoto library the moment you connect it.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to sync the synced photos back. Apple recommends to mail them back, but that would be a lot of clicking (iTunes: Syncing photos - Apple Support). You could also share them to a Shared Album, but a third party app like TD recommended, will be better. -
I went to do the latest update on my iphone 4s, and it said to connect to itunes so I did and continued to click restore and then it updated my phone through itunes. Then after about 40 minutes of it updating it still has the connect to itunes screen on. It won't go away and I have tried restarting and turning off my phone various ways various times. I don't know what to do!
Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...

If it now says "invalid" or "unsupported" SIM, your iPhone was almost certainly hacked to unlock it from the original cell carrier and updating has now removed that hack and the iPhone has relocked back to that original carrier. You will have to contact that carrier and ask if it would be possible to get your iPhone officially unlocked.

recently got went through the process of unlocking my phone through itunes, i am now unable to back my phone up to my computer, its asking me for a passcode that i used to unlock it, but i dont have a clue what it is. any ideas?

I set up my iPhone on my old computer and had transferred photos onto the phone through iTunes. That computer has since crashed, and I was unable to untinstall itunes before it crashed. I would like to transfer the photos from my iPhone to my new computer to free up some space on my iPhone. Sine these are not pictures that i took with the iPhone, how do I transfer them to a computer? These are baby pictures of my kids, and I do not want to lose them but am out of space on my phone.
So I ended up uploading all of them to Google Drive. Took 8 hours, but I got it done. However, now I can't delete any of these pictures from the iPhone. Can anyone help me with that? Because the computer that I originally registered my phone with on itunes is not longer operational, I can't figure out how to do this.

I have just had to restored my phone through itunes at it froze and i couldnt turn it on/off, after the restore i have noticed that siri has gone and all the home button does is voice activation, siri is still in location services but nowhere else, i would much appreciate any help in trying to get siri back on before i have to contact apple to sort this out. many thanks people of apple community !!!!
If you restored from an earlier OS to the current OS: the Siri app that you might have installed from the App Store is no more, and will have been removed. Apple bought Siri, boosted it, and it is now available only as part of the OS on iPhone 4S.

I bought a book on ibook, read 13 chapters...and then it dissapeared from my phone. The bookshelf is completely empty and won't load. Tried to sync my phone through itunes and it won't sync the book. How do I fix this?

Dear all,
I have a iPhone 4 16 GB, bought in September of last year.
I havent updated the phone in a while, and since a couple of months I am trying, and after downloading the update through iTunes, i get the message: Cannot reach the server.
The same happens when i try to restore the iphone through itunes.
The iphone is entirely original so no jailbreak or unlocking.
I am not a pro, so if someone could help me in dummy language, i would owe you my life haha

Cannot activate used iPhone because iTunes won't connect
I adopted a friend's first generation iPhone when he upgraded to the new 3G S. I got a new sim card and I know the password he used to lock his phone. AT&T told me that the only way to activate the first generation iPhones is through iTunes. The problem, though, is that when I plug the phone into iTunes, I get the following message:
"iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "PortableOps" because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."
But when I turn the iPhone on, I get the Connect-to-iTunes image, and the only function it will let me do is the "slide for emergency" phone call. So how do I enter the passcode in order to connect to iTunes? Does anyone have any ideas?
