Cannot add a new email account

I have 3 email accounts set up in my iPhone: one Exchange and two Google accounts. Today I tried to add a Road Runner account and got to the screen to enter my user info and password. I enter that info and click save. Then the phone exits the screen and goes to the home page. I tried it 3 times and got the same error. I was never given the option to enter the server addresses. What could be causing this error?

Go to
Settings,
General,
Restrictions, type in your Restriction Password,
Accounts, tick Allow Changes.
Press the back key a few times till you're back in Settings, you should see iCloud is now highlight able, now go to Mail Contacts and Calenders and add your email account as per norm.

Cannot add a new email account, and hence i have no way of creating an iCloud account (very frustrating). I had the same problem with iOS 4.3 but i had no email account to create as i set both up when i bought the iPhone 4. After adding a company email and a gmail account (both wok perfectly) i noticed that the option to create more email accounts had been ghosted (unclickable). This didn't worry me at the time. However, iCloud needs me to create one in here so i can access the cloud which i desperately want the ability to do. When i go into Settings -> Mail, accounts, calendars, the option to add a new account cannot be clicked (ghosted). I also have iCloud in the iPhone Settings ghosted (unclickable). I have same problem in itunes on Mac OSX. Surely restoring isn't the solution as i restored my iphone when changing from iOS 4.3 -> 5. Please help?

Can't add any new email account - Bug with Ios 6.1.3?

For unknown reason, I can't add any new email account, I get stuck with when I have entrered my email address and password. In fact, the system says " checking" but nothing is happening. Do you have any idea?
Somebody proposed me to reset Safari which I did with same result.
I have two Iphone and 1 Ipad and I have exactly the same problem on all of them.

I finally found the reason, it was linked with my email suffix which was a shorten version. When I put the long one, my email address has been recognized. The strange things is the fact, I have set up earlier the same account in pop instead of imap without any issue. I need to fight with the server name too as my standard incoming server was not recogized on imap (no reason as it works with other system). However, I found my way and it works.

i cannot add my yahoo email account to my iphone5. I have been trying for many times and it keeps saying "Yahoo server is unavailable". I can access my email on my computer, and was also able to add another email account to my iphone5, but not the yahoo account.

Is this Outlook account being integrated using the Outlook Web Acccess (OWA) protocol?
Have a look at KB02858 for issue integrating an OWA account
Also, you may need to have your IT Admin take a look at some Firewall settings to allow connection to the BlackBerry Internet Service infrastructure.
KB11036 give the firewall connection requirements needed.

HT4436 How can I transfer my odl family pack email to new iCloud id? Or add a new email account (not an alias) to my main icloud id?

I had a family pack but now I am not able to reach my son's email account. How can I find and transfer it? Or how can I open a new email account for my son through my icloud id. Actually it seems as if there is an oprating email account under his name but e-we cannot receive any emails or cannot reach the account settings...

Each sub-account of a MobileMe Family Pack should have been individually migrated to iCloud before August 1st last. Assuming that you didn't do this, you should be able to reactivate the address (though not retrieve its previous contents) by signing in with it in System Preferences>iCloud and enabling Mail - your son should do this on his own Mac or his own user account if he is using your Mac. It's not clear whether he will be able to reactivate the @me.com version or only get an @icloud.com version. (It would be useful to know, when he tries it.)
If he did migrate the account to iCloud then signing in in the same way should retrieve the contents and the @me.com address should work.
Alternatively he can just create a new Apple ID (for which he will need a new non-Apple email address) if he doesn't already have one, and sign in with that, enabling Mail and choosing a new @icloud.com address.
You should note that in none of these cases does his account have anything to do with yours (there is no need for a Family Pack equivalent in iCloud as it's free at basic level).
You could add an email alias to your account, but it's not a good idea as it will mix his emails up with yours and he won't be able to detach it later.

Cannot set up new email account

I have recently started with a new provider. I set up my new email account, however I was not able to send email. After about an hour of remote support I still had not resolved the problem and was told it was an Apple problem. I have tried deleting the account ans starting over several times. I am now unable to send or receive. I keep getting the message "Mail can' connect to the account " ". It asks for a pass word but this does not resolve the issue. I am not sure what I have done wrong.

So it turns out that when the tech guy from the ISP was trying to figure it out he had changed my password. He had told me that it was an Apple problem. I was able to get it resolved today. Thanks for replying

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

How do I add a new email account?

I installed Thunderbird today and have no email accounts set up yet. That is because by following the instructions in the help files, I was lead straight into a brick wall.
I can't find a way to insert a screenshot of the help page. It says to:
First open the Account Settings (In BOLD Tools|Account Settings). Each email or Newsgroup account
that has already been configured is listed on the left side of the Account Settings dialogue. These
accounts correspond to the top-level folders displayed in the "All Folders" list.
As said, I have no accounts set up yet and my "All-Folders" list is blank.
This is followed by a sample dialogue box showing the captions properly filled in:
Your Name: jen Account
Email Address: [email protected]
Password: ********
Checked Box Remember Password
Cancel Continue
Click the (BOLD) Account Settings (End Bold) button and select (BOLD) Add Mail Account.
What I actually see is a bit different. Tools|Account Settings opens another dialogue box with one button at the bottom that says Account Actions. Clicking on that button shows a drop down menu of
Add Mail Account...
Add Chat Account...
Add Feed Account...
Add Other Account...
Set as Default
Remove Account
Unfortunately, only the Add Chat, Feed, and Other, choices bring up another option while clicking on the Add Mail Account does absolutely nothing and that is the brick wall I mentioned. I even had a friend who has been using Thunderbird for several years could not find a way to add an Email Account. Your help will be appreciated.

I almost responded by telling you I had already done all that but decided you are trying to help and the least I can do is give it a shot. I am fairly capable around computers but I have a friend who not only works in the computer industry but has been using Thunderbird for several years.
When my problem began, I called him and we connected using TeamViewer. I recently bought a Toshiba Qosmio laptop which would not allow me to get Windows 7, I had to take Windows 8.1 (Total garbage IMHO) My friend will not install W8 and is not familiar with it.
Anyway, he tried several things to no avail and then uninstalled TBird and the Maintenance Program and reinstalled both. The problem remained.
Today, I uninstalled both again and clicked on your link. I saw immediately that it was the same place I originally installed from. I reinstalled TBird with the Maintenance Program and clicked on File|New|Existing Mail Account... and saw the same as the screenshot I posted yesterday.
After clicking on Existing Mail Account... I saw the screenshot below with no place to enter anything about my Existing Mail Accounts. Being new to TBird is one thing, but I am amazed at the similarity of what both you and my friend had to say after experiencing that 'brick wall' I mentioned in my initial post here.
If you have any other advice or instructions, bring it on, I will try anything and I appreciate your attempt to help me here.

Can't add a new email account to E72

I have a Nokia E72-2 and I have configured an office account (mail for exchange), gmail and hotmail email. i also had configured a yahoo account but as it didn't work, I went o the settings and removed it.
Since that day, I have not been able to add any new account to the program. Whenever I go to add a new account I open the New mailbox, select anthing on the next screen (yahoo/gmail), it promps to enter email id and password, which i do. then there is a message "detecting email settings" and then it goes back to the screen where I selected yahoo/gmail. No new account is ever added.
Any help will be good.

thereafter u will see all ur configured accounts and option to add another.
click add another and setup mailbox which u want to setup.
now sync the email client on mobile and u will find added mailbox.

Mail won't let me add a new email account

I have 4 email accounts in Mail and for some reason it will not let me add another new account. I have tried file>add new account and also the + sign within preferences>accounts. Any ideas what may be the problem?

I'm having exactly the same problem, but this wasn't the case the last time I added an account a few months ago - might this be as a result of a recent update?
Any help on this would be gratefully received, thank you!

Trying to add a new email account to mail on an iPad.

I am trying to delete an eMail account and add another one on an iPad 2. I choose add a mail account and it will not let me. Any help appreciated.

If so, where did you have a problem?

I cannot add a particular email account. The same email was working before.

I had programmed my iPhone to receive email from my business website. It was fine for the longest of time. However, now it does not work. I have tried POP, IMAP, even disabled SSL.
My incoming and outgoing server is the same.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are not setting up the app to access your exchange email, so your username or password is not needed. This email address is used to send you an activation code to activate the app.
The app can find printers on your local network, but not if you are away.
If you want be able to print when you are out of the office (to a printer in the office), it would be best to set up eprint first (turn on web service on the printer and sign up with eprint service), you will need an email address as login id on hpconnected.com (and that's why in the message it suggests to use an existing email address that used for hpconnected.

I have tried to add a NEW GMAIL Account into Thunderbird and after i use the automatic configuration finder and Password confirmation, it does not display

I tried to set up a NEW Gmail account in Thunderbird But it will not display eventhough it confirms that the configuration is correct and that the password is Valid. Please NOTE that i previously was able to set up the email account correctly in Thunderbird but was encountering some errors and i therefore deleted it using the Account Actions menu.
I have repeated this action probably probably 5 or 6 times and I still cannot see the new email account in Thunderbird. I can only see my other Gmail Account
Would appreciate someone sharing with me a step by step answer to help me fix this problem as I have no clue

Sounds like the Google Less Secure Application situation. Go to gmail and read what they have to say about this.
FYI: Deleting and reinstalling accounts or Thunderbird software is not the best way to solve problems. It usually never solves a thing and can cause more issues as you are seeing. It is best to troubleshoot what you have and fix those issues.

2. What type of account are you trying to add? Gmail? Outloook.com? Corporate? Other Personal email?
3. CardDav is a contact or address book format used by some email service providers such as Gmail. It usually asks for the password for your email account. Setting it up as CardDav will usually only pull in contacts and not email.

I understand that you’re wife’s iCloud account is signed in on the phone you are using and you would like it to have your account. You can sign out of her iCloud account on the iPhone and sign in to your account. This will not cancel her iCloud account. To sign out of an iCloud account on an iPhone, please follow the instructions located in the attached article.
iCloud: Change iCloud feature settings
On your iOS device: Go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Sign Out (Delete Account in iOS 7 and earlier).
