Cannot add apps to my iPad?

When trying to add new apps, I get a message telling me that I'm unable to make my purchase and to try again later. This is on both free and apps I pay for. I've reset the device, Ive held down the home and the on/off button and rebooted, I've signed out of iTunes and signed back in, I've changed my password (because I ran out of ideas). However, when I try downloading on the iPad and the app doesn't download, it does on my iPhone 5. Very frustrating. Can someone please give me some help?

All apps, all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account/Apple ID that was used to download the apps. You will need to use the Apple ID that was used to download the apps to install app updates.
Apps downloaded with one Apple ID can't be transferred to another ID and accounts can't be merged.

  • Cannot add apps to iTunes Wish List for my ipod

    When using iTunes on my Macbook, I cannot add apps (for ipod, ipad, etc. NOT for computer) to my Wish List.  When I try, a pop up error alert box says that "Your request is temporarily unable to be processed., to try again later."  The odd thing is that I can add music albums to my Wish List.  I am not trying to add previously bought apps, but new ones that I find that I might want later.  I used to be able to do this, but not as of recently.  I even updated my Itunes to see if that would help.  No effect.  Is it my wifi network,?  Any ideas of how to remedy this?

    thanks.  I opened iTunes this morning and miraculously my wish list seems to be working.   i see one app i had added to be downloaded.  I am able to remove songs from wish list and add songs and preview all.
    last i heard from the customer service person was that they referred the issue to a senior level support person.  this after i sent them several screen shots of my wish list and the error about unable to add to existing wish list because ittem was already there.
    I have not heard from them that my issue is resolved.  I will give them a day or so to get back to me to confirm they fixed the problelm.
    very strange.  at least they acknowledged the problem did indeed exist as they referred me to the online user forum for possible solutions.  I indicated the problem persisted as early as June 2010 and as late as Jan 2012. and I had upgraded to ver 10.5.3 as well as remove and re-install even AFTER they kept telling me they removed my wishlist.

  • Cannot add apps to my C150 keep getting error message "Connection Problem"

    I cannot add apps to my C150 keep getting error message "Connection Problem. There was a problem connecting to the Internet. Please try again." I keep trying but keep getting the same message. Web Services is enabled and I can browse the Internet using the Internet icon, any suggestions?

    Hi cdc58,
    I assume you mean C510 not C150.  For those who are experiencing ongoing issues with their web services, you can attempt to try the following steps that may help resolve your problems.
    1.) Completely shut down your printer and restart it
    2.) If you have prints that have not printed, log into ePrint Center (or create an account if you do not have one) and then look for your printer status. If printer status is green but you still have pending jobs, delete the pending jobs one at a time (Starting with the oldest first). There may be a print job stuck in the queue that further restricts other jobs from completing.
    a. If option 1 or 2 above still doesn’t work, removing web services and re-adding web services will cause the printer to reattach to the cloud.
    b. Please note that if you attempt option 3, you will get a new eprint email address (and lose your custom one with no ability to get it back) furthermore, you will need to re-add your printer back to your ePC account.

  • HT4236 tring to sync photos from my pc to ipad but it says "ITune cannot sync apps to the Ipad "user's Ipad" because the apps installed on the Ipad could not be determined.  I don't know what that means.  Can anyone help?

    I am trying to sync photograpghs from my PC to my ipad but it is saying ITunes cannot sync apps to the ipad "user's ipad" because the apps installed on the ipad could not be determined.  I have no idea what that means.  Can anyone help?

    I'm sorry about your loss.
    Are you trying to recover data from this iPad, or to set it up as new (erase everything on it, and simply use the iPad as if it were brand new as your new iPad)?
    If the latter, you can place the iPad into recovery mode as shown here.  You may have to try this several times:
    iOS: Unable to update or restore

  • I am getting this error message after upgrading to iOS5: "iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPad "ray's iPad" because the apps installed on the iPad could not be determined."

    I am getting this error message after upgrading to iOS5: "iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPad "ray's iPad" because the apps installed on the iPad could not be determined."
    I wiped it out and restored from backup but I am still getting the same message.

    I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and that fixed it. Here are the specific instructions that I was given.
    ~~~
    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
    Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
    it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
    Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
    Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch
    Good Luck!
  • TS1503 when syncing my ipad I get the message 'iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPad "..." because the apps installed on the ipad could not be determined'; what does this mean?
    when syncing my ipad I get the message 'iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPad "..." because the apps installed on the ipad could not be determined'; what does this mean?
    I'm pretty sure it's a bug in either iOS 6 or iTunes 10.7.  I kept getting it until I quit iTunes and re-ran it again.  I then started sync from the iPad itself.
  • Error message: itunes cannot sync apps to the iPad because the apps installed on the ipad could not be detected
    I received this message: "itunes cannot sync apps to the iPad because the apps installed on the ipad could not be detected" when trying to sync my ipad via usb with my windows PC - after the iPad applications failed to update when I selected 'Update All' in IOS6.
    Disconnect and restart the computer and reset the iPad:
    Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
  • ITunes returns Error Message cannot sync apps installed on iPad because the apps installed could not be determined
    Hello,
    I have been trying to fix this problem with no success for awhile. When I try and backup and sync my iPad Air iOS 7.1.1 iTunes keeps returning the error message
    " iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPad because the apps installed on the iPad could not be determined"  iTunes is current with all updates and is running on a MacBook Pro 8,3 running OS X 10.9.3.
    Hi RayCanada,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!  I'm not sure what steps you have taken so far to troubleshoot this issue, but I have a couple of suggestions for you to try.  The first thing I would suggest is to quit all apps and sign out of the iTunes Store on your iPad, disconnect it from your Macbook Pro, and turn it off.    Then restart your Macbook Pro.
    iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    iOS: Sign in with a different Apple ID in the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311?viewlocale=en_US
    Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
    Tap your Apple ID.
    Tap Sign Out.
    Turn your iPad Air on, and sign into your iTunes Store account using the same Apple ID you used to purchase the apps.  Connect it to the MacBook Pro using the Apple USB cable that it came with.  Try to sync again with your iTunes library on your Macbook Pro.
    Alternatively, you can download any iTunes Store purchased content using the same Apple ID directly to your iPad.  Here's how:
    Download past purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
    Not sure which Apple ID you used to make purchases?  You can review your entire purchase history using your computer:
    iTunes Store & Mac App Store: Seeing your purchase history and order numbers
    I hope this information helps ....
    While syncing, I got this message: "iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPad “temp’s iPad” because the apps installed on the iPad could not be determined" What does this mean and what should I do?
    Based on an online post, I tried the following and it worked for me:
    1. Windows 7: Control panel > Device Manager
    2. Right click my PC's name > "scan for hardware changes"
    3. Restart iTunes
    4. Restart IPad
    5. Connect IPad
    6. Still I got the same error
    7. Restart iTunes
    8. Restart IPad
    9. Connect IPad
    10. It worked and I was able to sync the apps!!
    Prior to this I had removed few apps, not sure that was a trigger.
    System: IPad 1, IOS 5.x
  • Cannot add apps from itunes
    Hi there,
    after connecting my ipad to my mac and syncing, all apps on the ipad are gone. They're still in the section 'apps' of my itunes library but whenever I try to do INSTALL or drag one to one of the screens on the ipad, it appears there, but after doing APPLY it's gone.
    What is the point here?
    Hi all.
    Solved the problem. Connected via WiFi and loaded one App from Appstore. Connected to iTunes and was asked to activate my mac. I did. Was told, that this Computer has already been activated. Now everything seems to be OK.
    Great forum...
  • Any ideas on why I cannot download apps on my ipad?
    I have been trying to download apps on my ipad but it keeps getting stuck on waiting.
    Did you check the firewall to make sure that it isn't blocking Firefox?
  • Cannot download app updates on iPad
    When the App Screen indicates that an app has an update available I press the update button and the little circle appears and goes around and around but does not complete the download. Is my ipad broken or is there something i can try to fix this? I am an oldie learning new gadgets so i am pretty computer illiterate.
    Here are some things that you can try. These have worked for others in the past. Don't forget that you can update the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the apps to the iPad.
    Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
    If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
    Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
    You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
  • Cannot purchase apps from my iPad.
    I recently updated my iPad mini and now I'm unable to download apps.  Reason are "cannot connect to iTunes" or it will have me enter my CC# security code "verification required" after that it then tells me "your bank infromation does not match" or the whole process just freezes on the screen forcing me to restart.   I've troubleshooted what I was able to find on the community.  I've waited long wait times to talk to a rep "still within my 90 days".  Im fed up and would love for some feedback!
    Note: This is not only the iPad mini....windows desktop and iPad 2 having same issue.  Although my iMac is working just fine.
    Sincerely,
    Very frustrated Apple Lover
