Cannot add Facebook Integration

When I enter my user name and password into the "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" preference pane, I receive an error that says "Unable to verify account name or password".  Even disabling "Login Approvals" in my Facebook account is not effective.  How can I get the Facebook option to recognize my login credentials?

Hi crivera.uva,
The issue here may be that Facebook has somehow opted you out of using the third party "Facebook Platform",  Not to worry though, this is very quick and simple to fix
1. On your computer, iPad, iPhone etc. using the browser and not the iOS application (in the case of the iPad and iPhone), go to https://www.facebook.com and log in using your normal username and password credentials.
2. Once you are logged in, there should be a long blue bar along the top of the screen which has "Facebook" on the left hand side and a small downwards pointing arrow on the right hand side (next to where your name and profile picture are).  Click on this downwards facing arrow and select "Privacy Settings"
3. In Privacy Settings, look down the page and you will see a section called "Ads, Apps and Websites" to the right of that is a link saying "Edit Settings", please click on that.
4. Under the intorduction, you will see a section called "Apps you use", and under that will be a green tick and the link to "Turn on Apps", click that.
5. Facebook may present you with a privacy warning pop-up, review the terms and then select OK or "Turn on Apps"
6.  All done!!  Now try and log-in again from your iPhone, iPad or other iOS device!
SO IN SUMMARY:
Log into Facebook via browser --> Go to "Privacy Settings" --> Go to "Ads, Apps and Websites" --> Go to "Apps You Use" --> Click "Turn on Apps" --> Problem Solved!
Enjoy!!

  • Cannot do Facebook/Twitter integration through Mail, Contacts

I cannot do facebook or twitter integration using the system preferences panel "Mail, Contacts & Calendars".  After entering the correct User Name and Password, it takes a minute or so and then IA_ERROR_BAD_CREDS shows up under the passwords box. I know that both the username and pw are correct. This happens for both twitter and facebook.
    Console has this to say:
    9/15/13 10:00:50.952 AM accountsd[379]: /SourceCache/AccountsAgent/Accounts-211.2/ACDAccountStore.m - -[ACDAccountStore verifyCredentialsForAccount:saveWhenAuthorized:withHandler:] - 1245 - 0x0 - System Preferences (com.apple.systempreferences) is trying to verify account credentials for account: (my email / login ID)
9/15/13 10:01:10.953 AM System Preferences[539]: *** Warning: saveAccount timed out for (my email / login ID)

Other ways of integrating also fail.  For example, Safari will sometime offer a dropdown window:
"Would you like to allow other OS X applications to use this Twitter Account?
You can allow or disallow the use of this account later in your System Preferences."
When I press "Allow", this will hang indefinitely with a spinnning icon next to "Setting up Account". The only way out is to close the Safari window from the File menu.

    A. Update itunes to run on a G5
Regarding iOS 7.0 you have totally lost the plot.
    We buy apple why?

    Intuitive interface.
    Stable software.

All that Steve Jobs consider sacrosanct.
Quality is about ongoing support longevity of product.
Its not about trying to sell to every person on the planet, others are way ahead of you.
So try respective the customers you have, it wont be long before theirs a better operating system and your lead in hardware is marginal.

My post on facebook this morning.
If you have an iPhone or iPad do not update to ISO 7 unless you want an operating system that looks like windows 8. The graphics looks like it was designed by a artistically challenged mongoose and the operating system is not intuitive something apple users expect. Overly complicated ugly and generally change for the sake of apples paranoia since the death of Steve Jobs.

You need to update iTunes to 11.1 on your PC

  • Where is the Facebook integration?

Looked through whole system and not one thing about facebook integration or anything which is one of the main reasons i bought this app its just not there and it should because thats how it was advertised.

It will be available in the Fall.  They couldn't get it done for today's release.
    From the ML web page:
This fall, OS X will be even more Facebook friendly. With built-in Facebook support, you can share what’s up with you right from the app you’re in. Post photos or links. Add comments and locations. Just sign in once, and you’re all set up. OS X adds your Facebook friends and their profile photos to Contacts so you can find them fast. When friends update their information on Facebook, it’s automatically updated on your Mac. Your Facebook notifications show up in Notification Center. And you can even update your status right from there.

    You cannot.
Unless you have done as you should and have the old facebook app on your computer.

  • How do I add facebook app?

How do I add facebook app?

There is no facebook app for your mac as wjosten has stated. However, you do have facebook integration with 10.8.2. Go to System Preferences>Mail, Contacts, and Calendars and add your facebook account there. This allows contact syncs with your facebook account and notifications in notification center for your facebook.

  • How can I turn on Facebook integration in iOS 6 without syncing w/Calendar/Contacts?

Just updated to iOS 6.  I would like to turn on Facebook integration but I don't want to sync with my contacts and calendars.  It seems that there are options to turn this off but only after you've signed in to Facebook -- and you get the warning that signing into Facebook merges your contacts and calendars!  Is there any way to turn off the merger in advance?

You'd do that if you wanted to add in all your contacts from facebook - it makes it useful to find out who's using other apps - 4 square - whatsapp, facetime etc.   I had many facebook contacts that I don't call, however if they are using other things, I might be talking to them.  So yeah, I decided to bring in all my facebook contacts.  It has created a mess that I'm trying to clean up though.  The mess is that I have a lot of duplicate contacts ( a facebook contact of Mary Smith and a contact on my phone of Aunt Mary).  I know that when I go and edit one of the 2, there is an option to link the 2, which will then merge the data (adds email info, birthday, facebook contact info, twitter etc) but it doesn't delete one of the contacts.  It should give an option to delete one of the merged contacts.. but it doesn't.  I'm not sure how to fix this.  I've been asking the boards here, but no solution has been given.
There has to be a way to do this (easily) that is

  • Where is the new Facebook integration on Mountain Lion?

Where is the new Facebook integration on Mountain Lion?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
First, you have to add the Facebook account. Go to System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars, select Facebook and type your email address and Facebook account, so you will be able to post videos or photos on Facebook directly from OS X, post on Facebook on Notification Center, and receive notifications on Notification Center

  • Error: "LDAP Synch status is enabled. Cannot add users through BAT."

In 10.x it looks like Cisco has disallowed user imports (via BAT) into LDAP-integrated systems.  Has anyone else run into this?  Below is the error I'm receiving in the Job Status log file.  The error implies that "it's a feature, not a bug".  How are large companies supposed to import new phones/users when they open new branches or do a phone refresh?  Breaking LDAP to do the import isn't a option because you have to blow away your LDAP directory config to do so - not to mention people wouldn't be able to log into Jabber or their user pages while it was broken.  I'm hoping someone has a workaround or has already spoken with TAC about this.
    Failure Details :
Device Name/User ID Error Code Error Description
LDAP Synch status is enabled. Cannot add users through BAT.
    Result Summary :
    INSERT for 0 PHONES passed.
    INSERT for 5 PHONES failed.
    INSERT for 0 USERS passed.
    INSERT for 5 USERS failed.

So if a company has a large CUCM deployment and adds another branch (let's say 100 phones/users), I would have to go user by user and do the phone associations, profile associations, primary extensions, etc 100 times?
Is there a better way that I'm missing?  That just doesn't seem logical.  In previous versions (I'm not sure about 6.x in the link.  I started with 7.x) I could have sworn that I could import from BAT even if LDAP was integrated.  I would get an error and only the non-LDAP fields would get changed, but the changes, associations, etc. would still go through.

  • Security risks through Facebook integration?

Facebook (as well as Google) are known to track all of a user's web surfing habits, URLs and paths through the net, as long as their cookies and data are on the machine. So anybody loving privacy and freedom can delete such cookies / caches after accessing one of these sites.
Now, until 10.8.2's Facebook integration that was possible (manually). I wonder if Facebook and Google perform jouful dances on their desks as now - with a system wide integration - they can collect and track even more of a user's behavior. Did Apple think of that and is all you do now transferred as you are logged in all the time - or not? So should a privacy-aware user, that believes we he goes online is his personal stuff, not use or is it safe?
I am aware many don't care and say 'nothing to hide' so this discussion is more for those that are aware that with Facebbook and Google, you are not a customer - you are the product.

  • Can I use Facebook integration with Mountain Lion without adding all my Facebook contacts to my contacts in Mountain Lion?

I wanted to post a picture from email straight to Facebook....  Mountain Lion asked if I wanted to add all my Facebook contacts to my Contacts app...  Do I need to do that?  I'd like to keep that separated...

Yes, you can keep your facebook contacts out of your contacts app.
Open system preferences>mail, contacts, and calendars>(your facebook account)>contacts
There should be a check box for contacts, if you uncheck it, your facebook contacts/friends should not end up in your contacts app.
I'm not 100% sure, sorry, I don't have facebook integration activated on my Mac.

  • How to stop facebook integration once i have deleted my facebook account

I set up facbeook integration with my facebook account. I've since deleted my facebook but i keep getting error messages saying it cannot connect. How do i get rid of these?

I went to that section and deleted the part which referenced to facebook. It only refered to the contacts but i cannot find anywhere else in settings as a whole that controls facebook integration. When i search facebook in settings, 'security & privacy' also highlights but i cant find anything there.

  • C5 / Contact bar lacks facebook integration

The facebook integration inside the C-series is a big thing and actually really cool. However the Nokia seem to have forgoten to integrate this feature in other parts then just Ovi Contacts application. In the Contacts Bar application widget on the homescreen I can absolutley not find any facebook integration. Neither can I use the facebook picture as the contacts picture on the home screen (C5 / no facebook profile picture..) nor can I send fb messages to fb matched contacts. More I cannot see the fb status.

I've contacted Nokia on the matter of not being able to use Facebook pictures on the homescreen contact bar. The reply was something along the line of pictures are real time and not stored on your phone. It didn't sound very convincing. Fact is, the contact bar is useless without Facebook integration.

  • Commando Facebook integration problem

I just got a Commando and have attempted to add my facebook account to the phone's account list - every time I try to add the account, the phone just goes back to the list of possible accounts to add to the phone.  (As in selecting the facebook account type to add, the screen goes to black and comes back to the same screen.)
Please help - if this doesn't work, the phone is going back to the store!

QUOTE: "We are aware of this issue.  Non-Verizon Wireless branded applications, such as Social Beat, cannot sync Facebook contacts.  Third party Facebook applications will also have the same issue."
I tried the Facebook App from the market well before contacting VZW's customer support.  There are multiple other issues with the phone's software, it won't charge when plugged in - other times it shows it is charging when no cable is plugged into it.  When you plug into a computer, it will ask if you want "Mass Storage, Media Sync, or Charge Only" - the phone crashes out and reboots on anything but Mass Storage.
