Cannot add images to existing collection

I cannot add images to an existing collection. When I am in the Library/navigator modus, and I grab one or more images, I can not drag them to an existing library. I do can however, drag an entire collection to a collection set, but that is not what I want.
Anyone any idea?

I can think of three possibilities:
--You can't drag images to smart collections. Only regular collections.
--You can't drag an image to a collection set.
--You have to drag by the image, not the border.

Time Capsule cannot add to an existing network

Hi
How fustrating...my Time Capsule was working completely until it stopped backing up for no known reason. I have tried to reset the Time Capsule and add to an existing network but an unexpected error keeps occuring. I also tried a hard reset but this does not even work as my previous settings are still shown when it I plug it in again.
I have a wireless network setup from my Internet provider modem and I would like to use my time capsule as a backup only where I can place it into a seperate room to provide me with reassurance if something were to happen.
I have also connected Ethernet cable from TC LAN to iMac...again not even sure if my connections are correct.
Can something suggest something I should be doing...the TC setup guide is not very helpful.

You can install 5.6 utility on any OS up to Mavericks no problems.. you have to do it manually.
How to load 5.6 into later Lion & ML
1. Download 5.6 for Lion.

Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
Leave the package open on the desktop so you can see the file. AirportUtility56.pkg
2. Download and install unpkg.

Run unpkg on the desktop.. If your Mac refuses to run the software, because it wasn’t downloaded from the Apple store, go to security in preferences and allow other software to work.. this is limitation of trade methinks. You can set back later if you like.
Now drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. in finder, open the new directory, drill down.. applications, utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall version 6 (now 6.3 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. although I have had no problems when doing so.

Cannot add image/photo in Pages

When I tap on the button to add a photo, my list of libraries comes up.
When I try to drag a photo over to my Pages document, nothing happens. How exactly do you add images to a Pages document?

I have the exact same problem. With both Pages and Numbers for iPad.
I have a topic of my own but haven't had any responses yet. I've tried reinstalling both apps but it didn't work.

Is there a way to add images to the collection used in Photomerge Style Match?

When one uses the menu: Enhance->Photomerge® Style Match, there will be six images displayed to choose from. The path to them is (Mac):
/Application/Contents/Resources/models/ While this menu is only available in Expert mode, you end up in Guided when you choose it. I assume, therefore, that there is actually an Action or at least a script.
Simply adding an image wouldn't work, which I confirmed. Even rebuilding the MediaDatabase.db3 didn't help. But there must be more than just the simple jpeg that the app uses to perform the effect... or maybe not! ;-) All I'd like to know is if there is a way to add images to the list of choices.

[SOLVED] Cannot Add Files to Existing Briefcases; New Briefcases OK

I have a user - probably the only user I can recall ever using this feature - that is unable to add files to existing briefcases.
When attempting to drag & drop a file into a briefcase (any) a small window or pop-up appears & disappears and the file isn't present. The pop-up displays and hides all too fast for us to see what was written as it happened well under a second.
The problem seems specific to the existing briefcases:
If the user creates a new briefcase, and copies the files from the old briefcase into the new, just like above nothing actually gets copied into the new briefcase.
If the user copies the files from the old briefcase into their desktop, then copies the files from the desktop into the new briefcase, it works fine.
So the current fauxlution (faux+solution) is to go through the latter process, but they have a few dozen briefcases and that's going to take some time.
To be quite candid, I'm not entirely sure where to begin - how does one go about fixing a broken briefcase?

Sorry but I'm afraid to say that with limited information, it's somewhat hard to find out what exactly happened. What is the result when copying from a new briefcase to another new briefcase directly? Are there anything recorded in the event viewer?
Might be helpful for troubleshooting.
Since we're unable to reproduce this issue, I recommend you use process monitor to trace the process when copying the files form old to new briefcase.

Cannot add data to existing table

Hello All,
I have a very trivial issue. I have an existing test table in SQL and I use DBVisualizer client to connect to the server.
I have only six records in the table that I am testing. I have a field called "SITE". Within this field I have the following data:
Site:
NYC
LA
BOS
I am trying to import a csv file with 6 row of records, where I have records in there where 'site' = "BOS".
But when I try to import, I get the following error:
"Violation of Unique Key constraint 'ix1_test'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.test'."
When I try to add the records manually, SQL allows me to add all data into the row, except when I try to add "BOS" into the site field. Then the error happens.
What I do not understand is, I imported a previous csv with nine (9) records with multiple rows of records with "BOS" in the site field and had no issues.
Why is this occurring now?

Thanks for the help Dan. But it seems like I need the SQL admin to make some changes to the table. What should I tell the SQL Admin to do on my test table?
Or since this is a test table, and I believe I have full access to it, is there anything I can run not to make those fields part of a unique constraint?
I can't really make a recommendation without knowing more about the data. I see that this is a test table, but is the intent to model something in the real world? In the latter case, you might want more than one table (e.g. rooms, devices,
and device types). That would allow you to keep an inventory of computer devices and their locations with any number of devices per room.
If your intent is to just play around inserting and selecting data without regard to data integrity, you can drop the constraint with the command below, assuming you have permissions to do so.
ALTER TABLE dbo.test DROP CONSTRAINT idx1_test;
I do have one minor recommendation for your admin about the constraint naming, though. Although primary key and unique constraints are implemented as a unique index, I suggest a naming convention other than one that suggests an index. This will
help avoid confusion with indexes that are used to improve performance rather than ensure data integrity. For example, you could name this unique constraint something like UQ_test_1 rather than ix1_test.

Cannot add images, tables etc

Hello, wonder if anyone could help me, if so would really
appreciate that.
For some years have been using Contribute version 1, and
finally decided to move on and so downloaded a trial copy of
Contribute CS3. I really like it and will definitely buy it as long
as I can sort out one problem.
For some reason the four links on the toolbar 'Image, table,
table row, table column' are not live and so I cannot insert photos
or tables at all. I can put an image in via copy and paste but then
it cannot be deleted.
Any ideas?

Edit > Administrator Websites > Choose the one you want
to use link on the tool bar > choose yourself and then click on
edit role settings
click on editing on left > under general editing
restrictions i believe "only allow text editing and formatting"
option is selected.. change that to "allow unrestricted editing"

The add image button is grayed out. I am using Story Free but have a Cloud license. None of the upgrade buttons work.

I have a cloud license but am not able to upgrade Story Free to the Plus version for some reason. In any case I cannot add images to my multi column script because the add image button is grayed out. Any ideas would be welcome.

I have and existing collection. How can I merge images in a Quick Collection into the existing one?

I wish to add images to an existing collection. Currently I want to add images in a Quick Collection into an already named collection. I am using LR3. How do I do that?

Select and then right-click the collection that you want the images added into. Select <Set as Target Collection>. A "+" sign appears besides this collection.
Then select your Quick Collection (or whatever images you want to add to this collection) in the Grid Mode. Click Ctrl/Cmd + A to select all images in this collection. Then press letter "B" on your keyboard. That will add all these images to your target selection.

Using a PC how can you add selected images to an existing collection. Dragging, as per LR help, would appear to be for Mac users only.

Open AirPort Utility. The first screen looks something like this:
Click on the AirPort Extreme and another screen will appear. Click Edit, then the window with the Wireless tab will appear.
If you do not see these screens, you will need to start over and configure your AirPort again.

Can't Add One Image to a Collection

I have one image in a catalog folder that I have been trying to move to a collection. I have selected it and waving my mouse over the collection I right-click and select add selected image to the collection: nothing happens. I even selected two images did the same and one was added but this wasn't. It is not in the collection already. Has anyone had this happend to them?

Perhaps Lightroom was still active on a previous request? Sometimes when I'm assigning or reordering keywords and the like, it takes LR a minute to catch up. I've learned to keep an eye on the progress bar upper left. LR does seem to keep requests in memory to some degree.
If you're a visually oriented person like me, you'll probably be browsing that image someday soon, and "pop!" you'll remember it's the one you wanted to move.

Is there a way to add new photos into an existing collection even though they are located in a different folder in Lightroom?

I am trying to add my favorite photos that are currently located in multiple folders in Lightroom into a single Collection and am not able to do so. I also do not understand the concept of a Collection Set, which might be the solution here. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

A Collection is the way to provide a quick link to any group of images you select. (Maybe ones you want to sent to a printer, or email, etc)
A Collection does not make a second copy of your images. Collections appear like folders, but the thumbnails in a collection are only "links" to your original images.
Any Development edits you do to images from a Collection set will show the edits in the Library grid view.
Collections are great for any projects like a Book, or Slideshow, etc.
To place image links in a Collection:
Method 1)   "easy"
First- (if you have created a collection set by the + on the Collection PANEL HEADER)- Right-click the collection NAME in the Collection Panel and choose "Set as Target Collection".
   This will place a small + sign to the right of the Collection NAME. (you only need to do this once to 'Set as Target')
Next- (In the library grid view, this can be "All" photographs.!!))- Select one or multiple images, Press the "B" key.
    This will (Bounce, Bump, Bag, Bop) selected images into your "Target Collection"
    So if you select ALL your favourites with ALL photographs visible in grid- you can do it with ONE press of the "B" key.
Method 2) "almost as easy"
Select one or multiple images in the Library Grid view.
Position your mouse cursor in the middle of one of the selected images, hold a left-click and drag your images 'onto' the collection NAME.
(Note: this does not work if you drag from the border frame of an image.)

Disks not avialable and cannot add new disks to existing pools

I have a few disks that are RAW and I want to add them to existing pools. However, only 1 disk shows up as a Primordial disk and the others do not. I cannot add these drives to a new volume and when I try to add any drive to an existing
pool, the add disk option is greyed out. I have search everywhere to resolve this but no luck.
What is interesting is one of the drives that shows available for a volume is the drive I have associated to backing up the OS on the server itself and is initialized, i.e. not RAW.

Please try to run the following commands in PowerShell to obtain the information about disks:
Get-physicaldisk
Get-disk
In additional, the physical disk added to a storage pool must be 4GB or larger. If the space is less 4GB, the disk will not appear in the storage pool window.

Unfortunately, most of my advice is in the "hindsight is 20-20" category.
First off, I would never have purchased the peripheral accessories until the 14 day return period had expired. Second, you learned the hard way what the "14 days" really means.
Too bad you didn't do any homework, reading this and other forums and tech sites. Even word of mouth from others. That, more than anything could have steered you towards different phone choices from the get-go and I will leave that there with no further comment other than to say most of the issues you described have been discussed in this forum, ad nauseam.
Once you got into the refurbished phone exchanges, that is where things really went haywire. What someone tells you over the phone is a sketchy proposition, and when it comes down to it, it's your word against theirs.
I think Verizon tried to make it right, though. Remember, they don't make the phones. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
You stated yourself you were a satisfied Verizon customer before this. Had the first two phones performed as they should, you would still be a satisfied Verizon customer.
Doubt any of that will make you any happier, but after you went through the effort of writing such a long post, I thought I'd try.
