Cannot add Movie to Media Pane

I edited a project with Chapter markers in Final Cut Pro X and exported it to a .mov file on my external drive. I added the folder to the media movie pane however the movie does not show up in the movie media pane.

Hi
Not familiar with - FinalCut Pro-X - but the rest of them up to FCE 4.0.1 and FCP 6.0.6.
I added the folder to the media movie . . . . . . .
So this is bit of a mystery to me as I do in FinalCut
• Export as a QuickTime .mov file (NO QuickTime conversion AT ALL)
• this .mov file I drop into the iDVD Menu Pane and move it to a good location then rename it HERE to what's relevant
I too had a movie that did not work today
- going back to FinalCut and - Sequence - Render Only -> Mix-down Audio
- then Render All - Both
- Export as QT.movie again
THEN
- Starting a BRAND NEW iDVD Project (IMPORTANT - as it hinders the iDVD BUG especially bad when Chapters are used)
- and now the QT.movies needed was added nicely
Hopefully it makes any sense to You or others who knows FCP-X will fill in.
Yours Bengt W

  • Cannot add movies to itunes11

After upgrading to itunes11 I cannot add movies to the movie folder in itunes. They show up in Home Videos with the columns of songs. I can see them in the Genres folder but not in movies and unwatched. They play without problems from home videos.

Easy.  Go in to 'Home Videos'.
Right-click the movie you want to move and then select 'Get info'.  Once done, go to the 'Options' tab.  Then open the drop-down menu (which will show 'Home Video').  Select Movie from the list and then click 'Ok'.
Your Movie will be moved to its correct home!
    Hope this helps.

  • Cannot add movies in itunes library and in itouch X_X

I bought my first itouch... anyway  this my problem i can add photots, musics, pdf etc but for some reason i cannot add movies in library. i already convert mp4 formats and i download the best converters available but it still can't add in the library no warning signs it doesn't really shows. and whenever i sync it in my itouch there is no movie find... guys help me.

I do not like having them seperate like this.  I wish they kept movies as all movies vs seperating it out like this!  If you change to list view in 11 as well you will all the movies regardless of the category they are assigned to.  I like the overall look and feel of the new iTunes but do not like this option.  IMO "Movies" should show all and if you want to drill out different "categories" that option is still there.
Anyways, thanks for the tip all...I had one movie imported like seven times until I was able to locate it LOL.  I am surprised that I was never asked if I wanted to replace the existing file.

  • Cannot add movie to itunes

Why can I not add movies to itunes?  Anyone?

mv4? The correct extension is .m4v or .mp4
iTunes is selective about formats it will play.
On the PC do you have "copy to library" selected in iTunes preferences.  I don't know if that is the issue but it might be since these are on read-only media.

  • HT1203 I moved my Itunes media folder to my public folder in my home folder so that my wife can share my music when she logs on to my computer. Since then aperture has been unable to locate the music files and I cannot add any of my itunes files to a slid

I moved my itunes media folder to my public folder in my home folder so that my wife can share my music when she logs on as a user. Since doing this Aperture cannot locate any itunes music files and so I cannot add any music to a slideshow. All of my existing slideshows no longer play music. Can anyone help?
    Thanks

Thank you for your prompt response - I did as you said and did a drag and drop into the iTunes window - it imported and got my album art from the net. When I started Itunes with the shift key down I was prompted to choose a library but since I copied over the media folder and not the library folder I was unable to select that so I guess I will have to create a new library and add in all the music, videos, etc. unless I wait for my laptop and export the library or at least that seems to be the case? In short, all my data (iTunes media folder) is on my external drive and can be added to the blank iTunes screen but I can not choose a library folder. Is there anyway around completely making all those playlists again? I am not sure my laptop will survive the shop with data intact and really hate to start over on those.
In an unrelated question - I collect old TV shows from the 1950's. Can I make playlists within the home video folder somehow?  In other words like one for Quiz shows, one for comedies, one for police and detective shows, etc. while I am remaking all my playlists for my music if I end up having to go that route?
Once again thank you for helping me out. I am not too Itunes savvy and really appreciate you taking the time to answer.

  • I cannot import .mov files to Premiere Pro or Adobe Media Encoder.

I cannot import .mov files to Premiere Pro or Adobe Media Encoder.
How do I around this problem?

We need to know a lot more if we're going to help you.
What happens when you try? Do you get an error message? If so, exactly what does it say?
What version of Premiere Pro? Have you installed the recent updates? What operating system?
Does this happen for all .mov files or just some? Has this ever worked before? What version of QuickTime do you have installed?
Here's a page written for After Effects, but the information is relevant to Premiere Pro and AME, too:

  • Cannot add previously owned movies to ipod

i purchased an ipod, and wish to add movies i previously own to it...i clicked the movies icon under library, clicked "add file" selected the movie, and yet it wont add...it's not giving any kind of error code, nor is it adding...it adds a couple music videos, but will NOT add the files to the actual ipod...i purchased the 160 gig model to have ample space for videos AND music...but it refuses to add any of my videos...any suggestions??

Same problem here - is there any way you can manually manage podcasts on your ipod? I listen to a language-learning podcast and I only want the current lesson stored on my ipod, instead of the whole series, which i like to keep on my imac for reference. Anybody have a solution?

  • Cannot find "Add To Adobe Media Encoder Queue"

I just started in AE, and I've got a pretty good grasp on it from all the tutorials out there.
But I hate the native rendering system in AE, I'd rather use Media Encoder like I have been for Premiere Pro.
In the Adobe Tutorials, it says Comp > Add To Adobe Media...  but I don't have that option even available. I'm using Adobe After Affects CS6. This wasn't removed in CS6 Was it?

In After Effects CS6, even though the Add To Adobe Media Encoder Queue command isn't present, you can add your composition to AME by other methods. Either use the File > Add command inside AME, or drag and drop your composition from After Effects to AME. Make sure to save your project first.

  • Cannot "Add" or "See" movies in my Library

    Hi
Hope someone can help, I am trying to add movies to my Library, I can see it "Processing Files" when I drag them in, but not showing up at all.
Someone suggested I check under "Home Movies" but don't see an option for this or know how to find it? All I can see is the below, can anyone help please.
Only happened when updated to 12.0.1
    Thanks

I have the entire original Star Trek series on the computer, all tested, watched and working fine.  They are all MPEG-4 video files, and I can watch them on multiple computers and TVs when pulling directly from my network.  They are labeled "Star Trek Episode 15 Shore Leave" and so on.  Before I went out of town I loaded episodes 1-12 onto my iPad to watch while traveling.  Again, they played fine.  When I returned I had only watched the first three, so when I resynced my iPad I removed those three (episodes 1-3) and put on some other movies.  Tonight when I went to watch them on the Apple TV I find that those three specific episodes are missing from the Apple TV list, so the ST episodes start with #4.  Just kind of weird.  These episodes are all the same version, done at the same time, the same way, no differences between them, even in size.  Must can't figure out what is keeping them off of the list but it seems to be more than just coincidence that the three I notice missing are ones that I just removed from my iPad.
Also as to the iOS version you are correct, my typo, should be 10.7.5.
Thanks for the help and just to clarify I checked with one of my purchased movies as well as the manual ones and two do not show up, both again removed with the last sync.  But they are still in the library!  Can't figure it.

  • Since the debut of iCloud, I cannot add spouse, child etc... data to the address book.  Anyone have a clue how to get it back??

Ever since iCloud went live, I cannot add any spouse, child etc... info to the address book.  Anyone have an idea how to get this back.  I tried to reset the template, looks like it has been removed.  I also de-selected the iCloud and selected on my local Mac in the accounts area in preferences. Still no luck. My address book entries prior to iCloud still have all the data and I'm able to modifiy if desired.  Any ideas??

I copied this from an extremely knowledgable iTunes for Windows user in another discussion. Maybe this will help.
In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit (iTunes) > Preferences > Store anduntick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit(iTunes) > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
With iTunes 11.0.3 you can enable artwork in the Songs and playlist views from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view.
If you are a Mac user, all you have to do is start navigating through the menu items at the top of the screen to find just about everything that is mentioned here.

  • Keynote Media Pane Not Responding

    1. I am using Keynote 2.0.2 When I click Media toolbar button I get media pane. But it stops responding. I cannot select Music or Photo options. It gets stuck on Movie. I cannot cancel media pane after this.
I have some iMovie movie projects and I have deleted all clips from these folders -- Is it making Keynote not to respond?
    2. How do I use music for slide Transitions?

with regards to your first point, have you had any joy in resolving this?
I have similar problems with both the iWorks programmes - have been in touch with apple care and was told to remove prefernece files (which didnt work) and also they got me to archive and reinstall tiger (which has simply resulted in me loosing lots of font files and still not resolved the problem).
infact ignore this message - i have just moved a few gigs worth of movie files (from movie files folder) to another location on my hard drive, and now the media pane works perfectly fine!

  • ITunes cannot transfer movies bought from the Store onto the iPad.

I have an iPad Mini and iTunes cannot transfer movies bought from the Store onto the iPad.
'Manually manage videos' is ticked but then after each sync attempt it goes back to being unticked.
'Sync only checked songs and videos' is also ticked and remains so.
When I choose the movies to put on the iPad, it gives me an indication of how much space I have (enough), lets me sync and then goes back to zero.

    thanks jolieteddie,
FYI, I searched the side pane here after asking this question.  It seems someone gave an answer that worked for me.  I could not drag and drop a pdf from the desktop into iTunes or the Ipad2 directly for whatever reason.  However in iTunes on the main menu under Files>Add, I could navigate to the desktop and add the pdf that way, then sync Books with the iPad. This worked!
I've attempted in the past to drag and drop videos, etc into iTunes and the iPad with no success. Somehow it never occurred to me to add them this way. Doh!
    Good tip.

  • How do I add movies to my touch?

How do I add movies to my iPod Touch that I have on DVD?

If you mean commercial dvd's, that you purchased, then it is illegal to do so and cannot be discussed here.

  • Why can I no longer add movies to my itunes library?

I am currently running iTunes 11.1.5.5 on Windows XP. (Yes, I know...it is an old computer that is dedicated to running iTunes and allowing me to run home sharing accross my network.)
My iTunes Library is housed on a NAS on my home network.
In the past, I have been able to easly add movies that I have converted with Handbrake by using the File>Add File To Library method. This worked just fine and would place the added video file in the Home Videos tab. I could then change the Media Kind under Get Information and easily have the video file relocated to the Movies tab.
This would allow me to view my movies on my appleTV while my home sharing is turned on and iTunes up and running on my computer.
The process to add videos just stopped working.
Now when I try the exact same process, nothing happens. The video file never shows up in iTunes at all. What gives?
Does iTunes have a limit on the size of the library? Is there a new process to add videos that I am not aware of?
    Any help would be great.

... and I have Read/Write permissions to the files and the folder they are in.
