Cannot add movies in itunes library and in itouch X_X

I bought my first itouch... anyway  this my problem i can add photots, musics, pdf etc but for some reason i cannot add movies in library. i already convert mp4 formats and i download the best converters available but it still can't add in the library no warning signs it doesn't really shows. and whenever i sync it in my itouch there is no movie find... guys help me.

I do not like having them seperate like this.  I wish they kept movies as all movies vs seperating it out like this!  If you change to list view in 11 as well you will all the movies regardless of the category they are assigned to.  I like the overall look and feel of the new iTunes but do not like this option.  IMO "Movies" should show all and if you want to drill out different "categories" that option is still there.
Anyways, thanks for the tip all...I had one movie imported like seven times until I was able to locate it LOL.  I am surprised that I was never asked if I wanted to replace the existing file.

  • Cannot add movie to itunes

Why can I not add movies to itunes?  Anyone?

mv4? The correct extension is .m4v or .mp4
iTunes is selective about formats it will play.
On the PC do you have "copy to library" selected in iTunes preferences.  I don't know if that is the issue but it might be since these are on read-only media.

  • Cannot add podcast to ITunes Library

I cannot get iTunes to add to the library a podcast. I have successfully added 5 podcasts from the same site. For some reason this one podcast will not move from my desktop to the iTunes Library. (My purpose in moving the podcasts to the library is to be able to burn them to CD at some point. I always listen to these podcasts on my ipod but I have family who do not have computer and I wish to share a few with them.)

I think this is similar to my post, "Downloading MP3s". When I dbl click a downloaded MP3, iTunes opens but it doesn't "import". The song isn't there. This is a recent phenomena...I think since upgrading to 10.1; but I'm not sure.

  • Can't Add Movies to iTunes Library

I have terabytes of home movies that I have imported from the camera into iMovie.  It dawned on me that I would like to watch these in my living room via my Apple TV III.  However, I'm having trouble adding these .mov files to my iTunes library. I added a handful, but when I tried to view them in my iTunes library (by double-clicking on the title in iTunes), I got a very low-res version of it that only shows a frame or two per second.  When I tried to view them on my Apple TV, I got an error message saying, "No content was found."
Subsequent attempts to add the iMovie .mov files were even less successful. When I try and drag any more home movies to iTunes, nothing happens.  The new additions do not show up in iTunes.  I try dragging the files to the Movies area of iTunes, a blue frame appears around the area, but when I let go of the files, nothing happens, nothing gets added to my iTunes library.
Can't Apple's iTunes software read files created by Apple's iMovie software?

I get the little box but if I mark the clip, and click okay, the window dissappear and nothing happens. I've underwent somewhat drastic measurements now, I'm currently re-installing iTunes. I can watch all movies, if that's what you mean
After I've re-installed iTunes, it finally works. Thank you all who tried to help me =)

  • Why can't I move my iTunes library and run iTunes from an external hard drive?

I've been having issues with space on my Macbook pro, so I wish to move my music in order to free up more space. I have been following the instructions on how to run iTunes from an external drive, but each time I attempt it only the 'Automatically Add to iTunes' folder copies to my drive - which has nothing in it.
    What is going on?

Which exact set of instructions?  Just about all of them are wrong, even the ones that specifically say how to move your library.
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music [library] to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 - a somewhat bewildering and not always easily understandable set of options.
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the iTunes Library.itl file in the moved iTunes folder.
For the record there's this reference for iTunes 11 but it really doesn't strike me as having the specifics you need. iTunes 11 for Mac: Move your library to another computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12168

  • Cannot add files to iTunes library on Windows 8

I've recently purchased a new Acer laptop with Windows 8.1 installed and have the most recent version of iTunes installed, but upon loading it, I am unable to add any files. This isn't just with mp3s, but with tones, apps and books.
At first, I thought it may have been because all my files are stored on a NAS drive, but iTunes doesn't even recognise the drive despite it being mapped. Even trying to drag-and-drop the files from my desktop doesn't add them to my library.
I've trawled the internet for a fix for this, but there are none, though I see a lot of Windows 8 users are experiencing the same problems. I have uninstalled and re-installed ALL Apple software and devices multiple times now, to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?

See Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.
Note the current version of iTunes has trouble syncing iOS devices if the applications are on a NAS UNC path. Accessing the library/media folder via a mapped drive letter works.

  • Can't move movie from itunes library back to itouch

Agreed to have latest version update downloaded to itouch; went back to itouch and noticed movie that was purchased on itouch suddenly was not there. It is on computer under "purchased on itouch" and in itunes library. When I try to move movie back to itouch a prompt comes up and tells me I am not authorized to watch this movie on this computer and it will not move over to itouch. Attempted to "buy" it again thinking it would tell me it was already purchased and would allow me to download for free - but instead it acknowledged that I had already purchased and it asked me if I wanted to purchase again!

In iTunes, add your movie to your library by selecting File>Add to Library.  Once in iTunes click on Movies on the left under Library, highlight the movie in question and go to Advanced>Create iPod or iPhone Version.  Sync this version to your iPhone.

  • Cannot add songs to iTunes Library

All of a sudden iTunes is not letting me add new songs to my library. I've tried Right Clicking>Open with>Itunes. I tried adding the files through the File menu. I tried dragging and dropping. Nothing is working. If I double click the song it begins playing in iTunes but it doesn't get added to the library.

Go to iTunes menu EDIT > PREFERENCES > ADVANCED Tab
you may find iTunes Media file Location box is blank(sometimes this happens after an update).
If that is the case, click the change button and link it to your iTunes Media Folder as follows:
    Win 7    C:\Users\<username>\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media
    WinXP  C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media

  • How do I move my itunes library from my hard drive to an external hardrive?

I am trying to free up storage space on my imac hard drive.  I have one external hard drive with 500 GB storga and then another 2 TB external hard drive that I am using as my time machine back up of everything.  I moved my itunes library (approx. 70GB) over to the 500 GB hard drive, but I think it is still somewhere on the imac HD.  I am looking for simple directions on how to move my itunes library and/or iphoto library and deleting the oriiginal version on my HD so that I have adequate room on my startup disk.  Thoughts?

Windows users see tip at: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18879381
If you put it in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music  then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there.  (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)

You need to transfer the iTunes Library from the most recent backup you made before the hard drive was replaced.
You can't transfer the full iTunes Library from the iPad back to iTunes.
There are third-party Windows applications that will transfer data from an iOS device, but they don't re-create the iTunes Library exactly as it was before.
