Cannot add my wife to family sharing

I follow instructions.  Send email, she accepts, says she already in family.  But not really it seems.

Hi Welby,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with Family Sharing. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear exactly which issues you are seeing with your wife's account after attempting to add her. If you feel her account may not be adding correctly, you may find the information and steps outlined in the following article helpful:

If her account appears to have added, but she is having a function issue like being unable to access shared content, then this article may be more useful:

  • How can I add gift cards with family sharing?

I want to be able to share the gift cards with my other family member, anybody know if this is possible?

They should be able to redeem them with their own iTunes store IDs to create a credit.  Their purchases should then be charged against their credit before any balance due would be charged to the organizer's credit card.

  • Family sharing add kid with already exists icloud account

I want to add my daughter. She is only 5, but i already create her an iCloud account even if she is always offline.
So if i want to add her in the family sharing, she's considered as an adult...
and if i want to create a "child" account from my iPhone, with an iCloud mail it's not possible because her iCloud's account already existe...
    how can i do,
must i create an other mail (i don't want to, if possible) ?
    Thank you

    Hello,
you would have to edit her birth date, even if it is not possible right now to change it to her real birth date, but you could change it to 1/1/2001 which would consider her as child: http://appleid.apple.com
    Best regards.

  • Family Sharing: Shared music not appearing

All of our music has been purchased using my account (say: [email protected]). My wife has historically used my iTunes account for her phone.
I set up family sharing on my iPad/iPhone/Mac+iTunes, and added my wife (say: [email protected]).
She accepted, and I can see her as a member of the family sharing setup.
On her iPhone she selected Settings | iCloud | Family | <her name>, and enabled "Share My Purchases".
    I have done the same.
So in theory, using her iCloud account ([email protected]), she should see all my music, and I should see anything she buys.
I log in to iTunes on my mac (running Yosemite, fully up to date). iTunes is logged in to my account. I select
"iTunes Store", then from the account drop down on the right, I select "Family Purchases".
Here is where things go wrong. She recently purchased an album by "Mumford & Sons" using her account ([email protected]).
When I select my name next to "Purchased", and select "All", I see my music purchases.
When I select her name next to "Purchased", and select "All", I see my music purchases.
I do *not* see her purchase. When I select "Not In My Library", I see nothing (well... actually that U2 album. 'nuff said).
    In summary:
iOS 8.0.2, Yosemite (up to date).
Joined wife to "Family Sharing". All checks out on iPhones settings.
iTunes does not let me see or download an album she purchased.
Is this new Family Sharing system working properly for anyone, or am I doing this wrong?
I'd like to get it sorted before I add all the kids.
    Thank you.
    Paul

I haven't seen any replies, so I thought I'd raise it again to see if anyone is successfully using
Family Sharing. If so... can they describe how they set it up?
    Specifically:
Under ITunes | Family Purchases | <user>, do they correctly see the purchases for each user
Can everyone in the family see the purchases of others, even if they were made before family sharing was set up?
Do you need to authorise every device in the Family to play the music from every account?
Many thanks for any advice you can give on this.
I've also emailed apple support directly and got nothing back for a week.
    Cheers.
    Paul

  • How do I add pictures of my family on our family share plan?i jus

I Would like to know how to add pics of my family on our family shardd plan can someone please help me I'm new to this

    Hi Laura720,
With Family Sharing enabled, you get a Family album that all members can add pictures to.
    Family Sharing
The whole family can contribute to the family photo album.
Now collecting and sharing family memories is easier and more fun. When Family Sharing is turned on, a shared album is set up automatically in the Photos app on all family members’ devices. Then everyone can add photos, videos, and comments to the album and be notified when something new is added.
Just have them add the pictures to the Family album.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

  • Authorize a Computer for Family Sharing - Is It Possible?

For the past seven years or so my family and I have been using the same AppleID for all of our purchases, and all of our computers are authorized with Home Sharing to one account. With the creation of the Family Sharing option - and issues we've been having with all of us using the same iCloud/AppleID - we're wanting to set it up, but my concern is with the content we've already downloaded. When I change the AppleID on my phone to my new one and then add myself to the Family Sharing Account, will I have to redownload all the music and apps I've already downloaded to my phone? Will I have to deauthorize my computer from the iTunes account that has all of the purchased content on it, and reauthorize it with my new account in order to get my content to sync to my phone? If I reauthorize my computer to an AppleID on the Family Sharing account, will all of the content available within the Family Sharing account be made available on my computer? I haven't been able to find the answer to any of these questions in the information archives Apple has posted. Has anyone done what I'm asking about and can let me know what happens?
For reference, I have an iPhone 6 running iOS 8, and an HP Notebook running Windows 8.1 and the latest version of iTunes.

At this point, this only works through Notifications on the Mac and iPad:
Request and make purchases with Ask to Buy - Apple Support
Maybe using the Notification Center on your Mac is a good alternative for using e-mail.

  • Which Account to Use for Family Sharing?

After reading the issues of being locked out, I am a bit apprehensive to set up the account.
    Here's my scenario:
Husband & Wife accounts want family sharing
Husband as owner - using @me.com Apple ID AND @gmail.com iTunes account (or in settings 'Family Purchases')
Wife also has identical setup where iCloud apps are run by an @me.com Apple ID and all iTunes purchases have been made through a @gmail.com account.
Question: Which account does the Husband invite the wife to family sharing? The @me.com Apple ID or the @gmail.com?
    thanks!

The Apple ID is his iTunes account.  The @me.com is his iCloud account which is connected to his Apple ID/iTune account.  Using anyone should suffice.
In any case, if you want to be safe, Use his Apple ID account.
    Hope this helps.

  • How does Family Sharing work if both members have iTunes Match subscriptions?

I wanted to add someone to my family sharing in the new iOS 8 but we both have separate iTunes match subscriptions. How are those two subscriptions effected if she is added to my family sharing or are the two match accounts merged? Any advice on this would be great.

I'm still trying to figure out this family sharing thing, but I THINK the other person will still be logged in with their own apple id, so they would have access to their own iTunes match, and not yours.  I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to "family share" iTunes match.  Like I said, i'm still working on it, but so far on the one account i've set it up on, I didn't have to log that user out.

  • Creating more Family Sharing  users?

I don't seem to find how to create more users under my Family Sharing!
I have my daughter who already activated her iPHone but is not under my Family sharing account and she had an iCloud user id already?
Now my son got a new mini ipdad 3 and i don't know if i should create a new user icloud id or keep the account under mine?
how i can add him to my family sharing and keep track of the purchases are made thru the device?
any tips upther for me guys?
Thank you sincerely for your help

Under Settings > iCloud > Family, you should see an Add button. Invite them using the email address they use for their Apple IDs. Yes, your son should have his own ID.

There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage.   There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.
I would just wait it out - I'm sure it will be sorted out soon.
