  • Cannot add device to Support Profile

When I open the Apple Support page and login into my Support Profile (Not the Community Profile) I have the possibiltiy to add devices. I want to add my iPad 4 via the serial number, which was bought in an apple store. I get the notification that this device is connected to another apple id which is just not the case. I do not have an other Apple id. Where is the error. How can i add my device to the support profile?

in attempt to reply to Barry, I find that his reply is not here when logged in as ChitlinsCC but DOES appear if logged in as a Guest. Curious? I have screenshots that are stubbornly refusing to insert with the camera tool as well. Copy/Paste from Preview is how I work around

    As Guest
I have attempted to navigate here from several ways besides the email notice... Oddly, this thread does not appear in the Using iPad forum list sorted along with threads of a contemporary timestamp for new activity, but way down the list associated with the timestamp for MY reply.
This happened to me earlier today... result of which was when I posted a reply similar to this reply, the SiteWare was jostled into good behavior, displaying the missing post I experience.
No Barry, I don't think it has anything to do with you as Ralph was the other phantom.
Let us see how it works on this occasion

  • My Support Profile account broken - cannot see product details

"My Support Profile" no longer functions properly and therefore I cannot manage my Apple products.  No one at Apple Support seems to know anythng about this or to whom, or where, to turn to get this fixed.
    Details of problem:
When I log to My Support profile using my current Apple ID I see, as expeced, my information and my registered Apple products.
However, I CAN NOT access the details of any of my registered products.  When I "click" on a registered product the web page goes nowhere and seems to simply refresh itself ("loading" spinner spins then stops). Therefore I cannot manager my Apple products because I cannot get to the next page that shows the product detail tabs "Coverage Details", "Case Activity", "Repair Activity" and "Support Resources".
This is NOT a computer, browser or user problem because it does not matter what computer or which browser I use (Safari, Firefox, Chrome). Rather, the problem is on Apple's side completely.
By contrast, I can use an old Apple ID to access my old "My Support Profile" using the the same computer(s) and ANY browser and I can access product details normally. But I do not want to use this old account of mine  as the email address is being retired.
Even if I wanted to transfer my registered Apple products to an existing account, or  set up a new one, I cannot do so because, as noted above, I cannot get to the product detail page which is where you have to go to unregister a product in order to to be able to then register it with another account !!!
    Cannot get help from Apple:
No one a Apple Support seems to know anything about this or to whom, or where, to turn to get this fixed. Every one is stumped.  There is no place on Apple's web site ANYWHERE to get help with My Support Profile - no way to submit a report, etc.  It is as if Apple figures there will never be a problem with My Support Profile so it is not even a topic.
When I call Apple Support (using the SN of an product under warranty) the call gets escalated until finally the tech rep will say go to "http://www.apple.com/feedback/" and submit a report.  When I follow that process through it always ends up with the options to call support or make arrangements to go to the Apple store to repair the product.  In otherwords, back to the beginning - a vicious circle.
    Plea for Help:
If anyone has a recommendation, an Apple Contact email or telephone number, a valid link to submit a report specific to "My Support Profile" problems, or anything that will let me get to somebody or some department that actually knows how to deal with fixing a broken "My Support Profile" account, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Yours in frustration.

I happened to have checked on February 15th as well and it appears normal functioning has returned.  Today is February 17 and it appears normal today.
I hope the return of normal functioning remains stable.
Although I am pleased My Support Profile has apparently returned to normal functioning, it is frustrating that Apple does not have any means to report problems with My Support Profile. There ought to be a clear path to follow to report (and rectify) problems with My  Support Profile.  The absence of such a path speaks poorly for what otherwise good support from Apple.

  • How to add a product to my support profile?

    Hi
I have an iPhone and Macbook Pro. When I looked at my Support Profile, I just saw the iPhone registered. When trying to add the serial number of my MBP, it asks me the exact date of purchase. I really can't remember exactly when I bought it ( I just can remember the month , not the day). What should I do?

Here's my test from an old product I no longer have
    ⬇ Click/Tap to enlarge ⬇
You just click the Product (as highlighted in grey)
Click the [Remove Product] button centerstage - the appears VERY briefly beside the button
one responds to the challenge "Are you sure..." by clicking [Remove Product] once more
    Success page
notification email ( notice there is NO "Undo" )
back to MySupportProfile after clicking the only button on the Success Page
If you think [ EDIT Products ] button may be a workaround, I'll let you illustrate

    I have a G5 which I intend to keep.
Now that I have updated my iphone 4s to iOS 7.0.
I cannot add music to my iphone or upload photos to iphoto.
I have the last itunes 10.6.3. which was supported by apple.
itunes will not interact with my iphone on any level.
Apple made all the equipment I use.
Bentley and Ferrari etc do not stop making parts for their cars?
    The least Apple could is.
    A. Update itunes to run on a G5
Regarding iOS 7.0 you have totally lost the plot.
    We buy apple why?
    Quality.
    Intuitive interface.
    Stable software.
    Design.
All that Steve Jobs consider sacrosanct.
Quality is about ongoing support longevity of product.
Its not about trying to sell to every person on the planet, others are way ahead of you.
So try respective the customers you have, it wont be long before theirs a better operating system and your lead in hardware is marginal.

My post on facebook this morning.
If you have an iPhone or iPad do not update to ISO 7 unless you want an operating system that looks like windows 8. The graphics looks like it was designed by a artistically challenged mongoose and the operating system is not intuitive something apple users expect. Overly complicated ugly and generally change for the sake of apples paranoia since the death of Steve Jobs.

You need to update iTunes to 11.1 on your PC

  • I can't add my MacBook Pro to "My support Profile" devices

I just changed my MacBook Pro from one iCloud account A to account B. I then logged in 'My Support Profile' on account B to add it to 'My Products'. When I typed in the serial number, I got the message
"According to our records, this serial number is registered to another Apple ID. If you have more than one Apple ID, log in to My Support Profile with that Apple ID to see your other registered products."
I then logged in to account A to check if the device was maybe still listed on it; it wasn't. So, I believe "your records" are wrong - is this just because of a delay of a couple hours or is there a more serious problem?
By the way, I've been able to download iCloud music on my MacBook from account B, so it's definitely communicating with account B all right.

You aren't addressing Apple here.  This is a user to user technical support forum.  Also, this has nothing to do with iCloud, even though you may have registered it with the same ID you use for iCloud.  Regardless of what ID you use for iCloud, you can register your Apple product with any valid Apple ID.

  • How can I add iPhone Serial No. in Apple Support Profile

Recently, I bought iPhone 5 Unlocked on eBay. Now I am trying to add serial number in my apple support profile but I found this error " According to our records, this serial number is associated to another Apple ID. If you have more than one Apple ID, log in to My Support Profile with that Apple ID to see your other products. Not sure if you have another Apple ID? ". so what should i need to do in this respect? further I have original seller purchased invoice (not apple original invoice) and I have proof of purchased thought paypal statement/invoice. So how can I add this iPhone in my account.

  • How can I add my MBP late 2008 to my support profile without purchase date?

Hello everyone, I found out that it is possible to add your Apple products to your support profile.
Unfortunately, after six years of use of my MBP I don't know the date of purchase anymore, which is necessary to add a MBP to your support profile.
    Any suggestions?

Well, that profile is really only necessary if your product is still covered by a warranty. If it is out of warranty, there isn't a requirement and you would need to pay for any phone support or repair options, so personally I wouldn't bother any longer. As far as I know, there is no way around the purchase date - Apple expects you to register the product right at/after purchase and needs the date for the warranty coverage.

  • How to remove a product from my Apple Support Profile

I want to sell a used computer. It is necessary to remove it from my Apple Support Profile at supportprofile.apple.com before doing that.
I can see the machine in the list of products. I can click the link "remove" but the wheel turns forever and the next page is not displayed. The removal process is stuck. This is also so in different browsers (I tested Safari, Firefox).
How can I delete a product from the list in my Support Profile???

  • I can't add my iPhone serial number in my support profile.

I can't add my iPhone serial number in my support profile because say that it is be using with a different Apple ID, but I not have more ID. My iPhone is new and I bought it from Apple Store.
    Excuse my English!

I have the same problem. How do I fix this?

  • Missing products at "Apple Support Profile"

I just logged into the new "Apple Support Profile" site and only my two most recent Apple product purchases are listed. My three macs, and various other products (totaling 9, iPhones, iPods, airport, etc.) are not listed. Why?
I've used the same apple username and account for years. And each item was registered immediately after purchase.

    See my post here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2717438&tstart=0
As the name of the page implies - support profile - I would think that the only products needing to be listed there are products that need repair/support? The product registration page is elsewhere.

I cannot add my mac pro to my products as serial number is associated with another Apple ID.???

This is a User-to-User forum. We have no means to escalate such problems.
You will have to contact Apple directly, such as Customer Service.

  • Why do I not see all my registered products in my support profile?

When I log into my support profile, I can only see 2 of my products listed... and I really needed info on one that was not shown in the list... BUT when I submitted the SN again, it says that the product had already been registered.... How do I see ALL of my registered products?

I have the same issue. Products I registered more than 3-4 years ago do not appear on the support profile and when I check the SN I get the message that the products are already registered to another Id.
Since I first registered these products, I have changed the country associated with my apple-Id . I wonder if that may be the issue.

  • Unable to remove product from My Support Profile

Good Evening. I have an iPhone 4S. I will be giving this phone to a family member. I have followed Apples on-line instructions on What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone. (phone has been re-set to factory settings and removed from iCloud). I then visited the Apple My Support Profile page, it listed the iPhone 4S and the Serial Number. I then clicked on Remove Product but this function does not appear to be working (the status indicator just keeps spinning). I need to be able to remove this from my profile. Any suggestions?  Thanks so much (note: for some reason, I was not able to post this under iPhone community?)

If that happened to me, I would try the following series of steps:
Connect your iPhone to iTunes.  Go to the iPhone's Music tab in iTunes.  Uncheck the "Sync Music" so the music will not be synced.  Click "Apply" in the lower right.
The previous step should have removed all music from your iPhone.  But you will probably find the old songs/albums remaining behind.  Delete them from your iPhone.
Check the "Sync Music" box in iTunes again and "Apply" again.  That should reload all music from iTunes to your iPhone and solve the issue.
