Cannot add songs to Ipod

I currently have over 400 songs on my Ipod. Never had a problem. Now when I drag songs from my library to my ipod, it shows on my ipod only when the ipod is connected to the computer. The computer will allow me to click on the ipod, and it will tell me what songs were recently added. However, when I unplug the Ipod, the songs DO NOT appear anymore. Any ideas ?

An iPod Shuffle can't use iCloud. It can only be used on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a supported Mac or PC.

You have to create your account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.2) or higher. After creating the account on one of these devices you can sign into it on your PC. But this still won't allow you to add songs to your iPod Shuffle as it doesn't support iCloud.

How to add songs from ipod on to itunes

I am was a person with a really slow computer so i didnt want to keep my songs and movies on my itunes. i deleted any songs i added. Now that i have a new computer i realized that i dont have to delete them anymore bc this computer is much faster.
My question is if there is any way to add my songs and movies from my ipod onto my Macbook Itunes?

Unfortunately, you cannot add songs that were added by iTunes onto your iPod onto another computer. But you can transfer your old library, if you saved it on your old computer, to your new computer.
However, if you purchase songs from the Wi-Fi music store on your iPod, you can transfer them to your computer when you sync. (I'm not sure what the directory for Mac is but I guess you should know; File>Transfer purchases from "iPod." I think 'file' is the green circle.)

Cannot add songs to library

Afetr uprading to Itunes 11 I cannot add songs to Library. I need Help.

I hope someone can help as I am having a similiar problem. I have multi users on one macbook. I have Itunes for all users set to the same shared folder for music (to eliminate multi copies of music files) I just added new music to the shared folder by dragging it into the folder (not thru itunes). The user I orginally did the dragging and dropping in, I was able to add to the library however, Now I am not able to add to the library on the other users. When I go to add to librabry and select the itunes folder with all the music nothing happens. Even if i try one song folder at a time nothing happens. I have had this macbook for a week and am new to mac (this is my first mac) I am geting frustrated so any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Cannot add songs to iphone

I cannot add songs to my iphone. (I have in the past but recently have not been able to) .I've ripped songs from cds and added them to my library but when i go to drag them over to my iphone, all i get is the big red circle with a line through it. I can't sync because I have so many songs I ripped before on the phone and will lose it all. I've tried dragging the songs to a new playlist and then syncing just that playlist but then i get a message saying this phone is already synced to another playlist. WTH is going on? And how do I fix this. Not really savvy with itunes as you can see!!

I purchase CD from work pc and i couldn´t move it to my iPhone becouse otherwise it would deleted my existing library songs? And at home pc iTunes can´t find that purchase at all...??

I cannot add songs from my computer to my iTunes library

Ok so basically, I cannot add songs to my library. I cannot add songs to a playlist either. Evertyime I try to drag songs from a folder to my library, nothing happens. It was working fine yesterday, but now it isn't. I have tried logging back in and out of iTunes, shutting down my PC and trying again, etc. I searched google and here and it wasn't really a problem. I have tried installing and unistalling iTunes also. So, any help?

Go to iTunes menu EDIT > PREFERENCES > ADVANCED Tab
you may find iTunes Media file Location box is blank(sometimes this happens after an update).
If that is the case, click the change button and link it to your iTunes Media Folder as follows:
Win 7 C:\Users\<username>\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media
WinXP C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media

Cannot add songs to shuffle

2nd gen shuffle wont add songs from itunes. Did the five r's reinstalled itunes. ipod shows up on itunes and computer. when I click autofill it tries to load songs but an error message( cannot write or read disk ) pops up.

I have the exact same problem, I have 2nd gen too. The only way I could 'switch' songs was to install the restore utility and then restore factory settings and install my ipod again. I could check the box that asks to randomly choose songs from my library and my ipod would sync up and it would be good. Anytime after I wanted to sync it would display that error. And if I didn't check the box at the install to automatically pick songs, it wouldn't sync anything. Annoying...

Cannot delete songs from iPod when in manual update mode

I am using iTunes 7 and i'm trying to delete some songs just from my iPod and i have always used the manual update option.
The problem is when i go into the songs on my iPod and go into a playlist and try to delete the songs within a playlist it won't let me. BUT when i search for those same songs within my iPod library (library shows all songs on the iPod) i can delete them.
So my problem is i cannot delete songs within playlists just from my iPod. I know that deleting the playlist on the left hand side navigation bar will still keep the songs there, it will only delete the actual playlist.
Also when i select a song(s) the edit menu is all greyed out except for copy.
Can anyone help please.

Try using the key combination Shift-Delete when deleting from a song from a playlist, this will delete it from the library as well.

Can not add songs to ipod

I have a 30 gig Ipod video, and have been manually dragging songs from my library to put on it. Recently, I have not been able to add songs. When I drag songs to it, nothing happens. No error message, nothing. Also, when I try to play songs on my computer from my Ipod, I get the exclamation point to the left of song name. The songs and videos already on the Ipod play fine when not connected to the computer. I would like to avoid having to restore if all possible.

(i'm sure that you have tried this) but is the ipod full (space wise) do you have any extra space on your ipod.

Cannot update songs in iPod

Hi,
My problem is this one:
I bought an external hard drive (200 GB)
I downloaded the iTunes in that external (H) drive - from Apple's site - than I transferred the songs I had in the C drive, in the H drive.
I didnt know that I should transfer the iTunes library too. Anyway, I deleted EVERYTHING in the C drive.
Than I realize that I dont have playlists in the H drive. Luckily I didnt plug the iPod, because I would lose the playlists I had in my iPod. It took me few hours to write down my 50 something playlists. + 5,000 songs.
I am aware that there are programs that can transfer the songs from iPod in computer, but I read their Websites and I was not convinced of their efficacity.
Than I plugged the iPod. As expected the playlists disappeared, and the iTunes told me that because there is no space enough I had a big folder with pictures - will store TEMPORARY (?) some of the songs in a special playlist called office something (I dont remember) I said OK, but few minutes later I realize that I have all the songs in the new playlist created, were present in my library, so I deleted that playlist. I didnt know that playlist is in fact my NEW library if Im not wrong.
Perhaps Apple should tell me WHAT HAPPENS IF I DELETE THAT PLAYLIST.
As well as when I moved the songs from the C drive Apple should also tell me that I HAVE TO MOVE THE LIBRARY TOO!!!!!. Or much better HE should move it AUTOMATICALLY, without asking!!!!!!!!
Anyway, to make the story short, when I tried to update the iPod, appeared the message:
Songs on the iPod offici cannot be updated because all of the playlists for updating no longer exist
BTW, when I tried to find songs I have in iTunes, using the search function [Start > Search > All files and folders > Look in all hard drives C, D, H] I simply couldn't find the songs.
What I have right now in the H drive is a folder called > Programs > I Tunes and in that iTunes folder I have:
1) iTunes Music Library 3 MB (an XML document) I looked a little bit and I saw: <key>Music Folder</key> <string>file://localhost/C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/user/My%20Documents/My%20Music/iT unes/iTunes%
C drive ???
2) iTunes Library 2.6 G, which a window says: iTunes Library.itl = Windows cannot open this file
3) iTunes 4 Music Library, which Windows says cannot open too
4) Previous iTunes Libraries, folder which contains:
- iTunes 4 Music Library and
- iTunes Library; both about 2 GB
5) iTunes Music a list of songs I couldnt found there a song I recently downloaded from Apple.
6) iTunes Music which contains:
- CD Configuration which contains:
- iTunes Resources
- iTunesHelper. Resources
- about iTunes
- iTunes (APLICATION 11.1 MB)
7) iPod which contains:
- bin
- iPod Updater (4 folders)
So, how can I update the iPod?
Also a little strange thing: Offici Properties tells me that I have 14.7 GB Used Space - I opened the iPod and there is NOTHING inside - and iTunes says 31.55 GB (?!) I have an iPod 40 GB.
So pls help!

Try using the key combination Shift-Delete when deleting from a song from a playlist, this will delete it from the library as well.

Itunes wont let me add songs on iPod

okay soo i have a 2 GB so i can hold 500 songs..i only have 355 songs on it now and i want to add more..but its saying that there is no room in my iPod and they will try to add it..and they dont..not even one..can someone help me!! i need this ASAP..thanks!

Hi...the ammount of song you can add to your iPod depends on the lenght, size and format of the size...apple made the calcules with the format that songs have when you buy them on the music store...

Cannot add playlist to Ipod

Whenever I try to add my playlist from my computer to my ipod, the crossed out circle appears, and I cannot add it. I found that when I go to my Ipod, the bar that shows how much space is left has a lock next to it. Does this mean anything?

It is in Autosync.
Select the iPod in iTunes.
Click on the music tab.
Select the playlists you want to put onto the iPod.
When you wanto add/delete music from the iPod, just do it from these playlists and then sync the iPod.

Can't add songs to iPod mini - Please help

I am running iTunes 6 on Windows XP and my iPod mini is updated with the latest software. I connect it to my computer and it appears in iTunes without any problems. I add songs to it from my library and they appear to transfer without any problems. But when I do, a yellow triangle with an exclamation point appears in my system tray. It is an itunes.exe - Corrupt File message. When I unplug my iPod, the songs that I added no longer appear in my song list.
I have 2 iPods that I use on this computer and the other one works perfectly. So my question is 2-fold. 1, how do I fix this? And 2, why did it happen so that I can prevent it in the future?

You don't have any choice but to restore your phone. If the phone is still working, be sure to back up your contacts first. Since iTunes can't read your phone you can download the app My Contacts Backup, which will back up your contacts as an email attachment. Send this email to yourself; you can later open it on your phone and tap the attachment to re-import your contacts if necessary. When done, click on Restore (on the Summary tab) and let iTunes do its thing. Be careful to watch the progress information at the top of iTunes as well as your iPhone screen so that you do not interrupt the restore process until it is completes.

I cannot transfer songs to ipod Classic

I used to do drag and drop to ipod transferring songs, I cannot do it anymore on my new ipod classic. I can use the sync function but after the songs are transferred to my ipod, they are grey out, I cannot even click on them. I can play the songs on ipod alone, any idea? weird? Alex
