From the iPhone user manual, Restarting or resetting iPhone
If something isn’t working right, try restarting iPhone, force quitting an app, or resetting iPhone.
Restart iPhone: Press and hold the On/Off button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
If you can’t turn off iPhone or if the problem continues, you may need to reset iPhone. A reset should be done only if turning iPhone off and on doesn’t resolve the problem.
Reset iPhone: Press and hold both the On/Off button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

No ring sound volume on incoming call, no speakerphone
My Xperia Z3 Compact is about 6 weeks old (US-unlocked) and recently the phone quit ringing audibly when I have an incoming call. When I get a call, the screen comes on and shows that I have a call, the phone vibrates like it always does and the LED flashes bright white. But no sound, no ringtone. Actually - a very quiet ringtone but through the small phone receiver speaker (where you listen to a caller with phone to your ear). All other notifications and stuff sound out normally: SMS, email, alarms, startup sound, music all work fine. Only incoming calls have no ring volume. I have checked the volume settings and have the ringtone & notifications volume slider wide open. I have changed ringtones, adjusted every sound and volume setting on the phone to no effect.
I did a hard reset and that did not solve the problem. After hard reset I let the phone update as necessay (the phone was up to date, many Sony apps updated). I did not re-install my data and called my phone a few times after the hard reset, still no ring sound on incoming call.
I did another hard reset and did not let anything update, still no ring sound on incoming call.
Related to this is the fact that on any phone call, the speakerphone does not work. If I turn on speakerphone, the caller can hear me but I cannot hear them. If I turn off speakerphone, everything is fine (I hear the caller in the earpiece, they hear me). The external speakers do work fine, I can play music, video, etc. and it all sounds fine. I have tried all of the different ringtones and they sound fine except for when someone is calling in and I hear nothing.
As an aside, this phone has not been dropped or wet or any of those things that might have created a problem.
Any ideas? You could repair your phone with PCC

Adjusting Volume Control - Incoming calls too loud
I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT19000 mobile phone. I have no problem adjusting the volume of normal calls, but when using Skype on my mobile, the speaker volume is so loud that I have to hold the phone away from my ear or put in an earplug. Does anybody know how to adjust the volume in Skype?
I have played with the media volume while on calls and when not on calls. This does not adjust the sound for skype. None of my phone's sound options adjust the sound for skype. Still no solution?

Hi
The Skype incoming call volume is controlled by your phone's "Media Volume" in the

Try the Media Volume and see if that fixes your issues. -

Adjusting volume for incoming calls - not the ringer
Just got a new 4S and although the "sounds" ringer is turned all the way up, I cannot hear people when they speak. Is there a separate setting for incoming sound?
Hello,
I would love to help you with this issue.
To change the volume of your caller's voice all you need to do is, when in a call, press the volume buttons. The top one to make it louder the bottom one to make it softer.
I hope this helps!

I have no volume for incoming calls ,texts and emails how do i fix it
I have no volume alert for incoming calls ,texts and emails . How can I fix this as I can watch video clips wiyh sound
Hello Strangers1,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning audio issues:
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5180
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved, please contact Apple Support.

Internal ear speaker sounding tinny/scratchy on calls
My phone has just started to act up. When I am making a phone call on my 3g, the sound from the ear piece on the phone is tinny/scratchy. If I switch to speaker phone, there is no audio problem. It appears to JUST be with the internal ear speaker. I've tried turning the phone on/off several times with no success.
You're welcome.
There is no other insight available if none of the standard troubleshooting steps resolves it. If no change after the standard troubleshooting steps, very more than likely there is a hardware problem which will involve an exchange under warranty if the iPhone remains under warranty, or an Apple out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair", which pays for an exchange at a discounted price off the full retail sales price without having to sign a new contract ($199 plus tax), or contacting a 3rd party repair service for a price to repair if the iPhone is no longer under warranty. -
Any app for increasing volume on incoming calls

HT4993 How do I fix my ear piece so I can hear calls.
So my iphone decided today that I cannot hear people talk when I get a call. Its very low almost muet. Worked lastnight and everything was fine. My speakers work, Speaker phone works and so does putting in the ear buds to talk. I have apple care/insurence on my phone. I have the iphone 4s. I just want to know how to fix it.
Also there is a lot of outages where I live could that be an issue too?Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Show Info
from the contextual menu.* An Info dialog should open.
Does the dialog show "You can read and write" in the Sharing & Permissions section?
In the General section, is the box labeled Locked checked?
What is the Modified date?
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). Open a TextEdit window and paste into it (command-V). Select the line you just pasted and continue as above. -
IPhone malfunctioning while incoming calls
Hi Everyone,
Recently whenever I get incoming call suddenly music player turns ON.
Also sometime when I'm listening to music, song shuffle itself.
It's really bad experience with apple.
Voice control turned off.
Songs shuffle turned off.
Please let me know is there any malfunctioning in my iPhone or is there any settings need to be changed (recently I havn't changed anything)
Thanks,
SriDid you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Appel logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not work, set it up as new device again, explained here:

Cannot seem to adjust ear piece volume
I just made my first call with my Thunderbolt and about went deaf from the phone's volume. And no, I didn't have speaker phone engaged! How do I adjust the volume of the phone to a more reasonable level? I couldn't find anything for the actual phone volume in the audio settings -- just volume for rings and notifications, etc.. Thanks in advance!
use the volume rocker while in a call.

HT4528 how do i increase volume for incoming calls and incoming text?. i have it to max
i have incoming and text messaging to the maximum volume. How can i increase it?
If while you are in Messages and set the volume, that is all you can get. You can try and see if Volume Limit is checked by going to Settings>Music and see if Volume Limit is off.
The only other thing I can recommend, is to create your own ringtone/text tone in a music editor and increase the volume in the file. You may also want to check your speaker area and see that it is clean and not blocked by any debris. -
Sound quality of incoming calls
I've had my Blackberry for over six months, but I've always had a problem with the quality/clarity of the audio in incoming phone calls. It's very difficult to understand the person on the other end -- particularly, but not only, if the person has an accent of any sort. I want to use the Blackberry as my primary phone, but I can't "get" half of what my callers are saying to me. This does not happen on any other phone.
Hi linjane,
Welcome to the Community,
Whenever you see or feel any unusual in your device always Perform a Battery Pull Restart like this While Device is Powered On remove the Battery wait for a min. then re-insert it back wait till the device take a long Reboot.
And again the voice clearity depends on your Carier or wireless provider signal strength are you having this same sound quality problem while listening to any music files.
