Cannot adjust side panel size in iMovie 13

I have a brand new MacBook Pro 13' with Maverick and iMovie 13. I am not able to adjust the width of the side panel (library panel). I get the right cursor when I hoover over the border between the library panel and clip panel, but nothing happens when I click and drag.

You can use keyframes to selectively alter the volume of a clip. Select the clip and then place your cursor over the volume line, then option click and a keyframe will appear. You can move the keyframe vertically and horizontally by dragging. Add multiple keyframes where you like and you can adjust the volume line between keyframes. Right click a keyframe to delete it.

  • I cannot adjust my screen size

I am unable to resize my Front panel borders.  Also when working on the same vi, on a different pc, the objects have moved.  Labview 8.2.1.

Go to your VI properties (Ctrl-I or File->VI Properties).
Check to see if "Maintain Porportions of window..." and/or "Scale all objects on front panel..." are checked.  These will cause the front panel to adjust for different monitor resolutions.
In the same window, make sure Minimum Panel Size is not set (set to all 0's to disable) if you resize problem is you cannot make the fron panel smaller.
If you are having problems resizing when running, make sure the option "Allow user to resize window" in enabled in the Customize section of Window Appearance (Default has this options available).  This option has no effect when editing the VI, though.
It may sound stupid, but make sure your window is not maximized.  Under Position in Window Run-time Position, you can set the VI to maximize when it runs.

  • Side Panel Re-size

I am forever accidentally re-sizing the side panels when I try to grab the slider. Then, when I actually TRY to grab the edge of the panel to re-size it, it takes me several tries to grab it.
Could you make a "handle" to grab when the user wants to adjust the size of the side panels? That way it would be easy to find when you want it, and grabbing the slider bar would be easier when that was what you want.
    Thanks.

  • IMovie 2011 - cannot adjust music track points

Hi there, I have started a new project and when I add a music track to accompany the video / photo montage, the audio appears as a green envelope around the images, and I cannot adjust start, or end points of the audio. I am used to seeing the audio appear as a small bar under the video / images, but this time it envelopes the entire video.
I am using an external drive to save the project, and my music is on my internal drive, is that the reason? I have used non iTunes purchased music within iTunes.
    Any thoughts?

This is exactly the problem I have but using iMovie 2011 on my laptop. This has only just started happening.

  • Adjust front panel to screen size and re-position objects on different systems automatically

Hello, i have designed a vi that contains 5 led's placed at the 4 corners and center of the front panel which occupies the entire screen. However, this vi is to be used on different systems having different screen sizes. But on every screen, i'll need the front panel size = screen size and the led's to  be placed to the centers and corner of this new screen size automatically without any manual operations and positioning bieng done every time. Will the resize option perform this task completely or do i have to go for some other techniques?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

As far as I know, what you want is not easy to do but it is doable but you have to programmatically do it (no Labview setting). Here is an example for only 2 LEDs but I suppose that you will be able to make it work for your other LEDs.
This VI maximizes the front panel and then positions the 2 LEDs in the center and top right corner upon running. The LEDs are positioned according to their own top left  corners, not according to their centers.

  • Have Photoshop remember panel size

My panel has dynamic content so its size need to be adjusted by the user after it has loaded.
However, whenever I restart Photoshop the panel resizes to the dimensions set in Configurator.
Is it possible to have Photoshop remember its last size?
My panel is created with Configurator 4.

This should already be possible if the "Persistent" option is set to "Yes". In Configurator, you can find this setting on the righthand side, in the "Basic Attributes" section.
If you have already exported a panel, you can modify it without re-exporting by modifying your panel's xml file. This should be located within its "content" folder, and would be named after the project, as: "<ProjectName>.xml". Inside that file, usually about 5 lines down, is a line that contains the property setting "persistent=" (either "true" or "false"). Set that to true, and the panel size should be maintained between sessions.
I just tested with a project of mine to make sure I wasn't full of it, and it worked even after shutting down and restarting PS.

  • Adjustment brush changes size

Hello, maybe someone has an answer to this:
In Develop, when preparing to use the Adjustment Brush, first I adjust the size of the brush.  I slide my cursor along the Size slider and the displayed adjacent "sample brush" varies in size.
Next, I move the cursor into the field of the image.  When the cursor crosses over into the image field, the circle indicating brush size changes;  it gets larger by roughly 25%.  I have been using the adjustment brush now for what seems like 2 or 3 years, but I can't recall it changing size before.
Is this normal?  Below please viddy 2 screenshots:  a) the cursor(sadly not reproduced in the screenshots) hovers at the slider;  b) The cursor is moved to the image field, and the Adjustment brush circle has increased in size.
Mac OS 10.7.4(current), Macbook Pro w/ NEC external mon., 2.8GHz, 8GB ram on 2 cores, Catalog on internal HDD, Library on external HDD, LR 4.1, Nikon raw files.

Hi Victoria.  First of all let me thank you for all the help you provide with Lightroom, you are the Queen!!!
What I meant to say was when you are using the sliders in the side panel and not the [ ] keys to adjust the brush size, the brush is shown next to the panel and it is the CORRECT size.  As soon as you move into the photo to edit, the brush scales up in the same proportion as you have set in the UNIVERSAL ACCESS cursor size setting.  You HAVE to be using the adjust sliders to see the smaller brush.  I probably will only use the [ ] keys now that I have solved this problem but before I had to use the sliders to see what the REAL brush size was going to be and then mentally scale what the brush should have looked like in the photo, a pain for sure.  If you need more info, let me know.

  • Please make it harder to lose the side panels

    Am I alone in this?
Countless times I go to click on the scroll bar (left or right, doesn't matter) and instead I accidentally move the mouse "just a little too far" and click to hide the panel instead of clicking the scroll bar.
The thing is, it wastes valuable time having to then go and unhide the panel and return back to what I was doing.
Could we either make the scroll bar slightly wider (making it easier for me to "get it right") or perhaps have an option to only hide the panels by keystroke instead of by clicking on them? I do like to hide the panels ... but it's extremely rare because I need the panels there while I'm in the develop module in order to access presets or develop settings.
Maybe in the develop module turn off the ability to hide the panels? (or, again, make it an option to do so)
It would sure save me a lot of aggravation.

    >@Ian Lyons: I can't drag the panels but the scroll-wheel on my mouse works fine...far better than it did in LR1.
Agree--when LR is on the main display, but the scroll wheel does NOT work for scrolling the panels when LR is on the 2nd display. I don't know if this is intentional or an oversight or just a situation I experience, but I have experienced it with all versions of LR and in both XP and Vista.
Note that the scrolling of the side panels isn't the only thing that doesn't work properly with the scroll wheel when LR is on the 2nd display--the thumbnail panel doesn't scroll when on the 2nd display, either. However, using the scroll wheel to adjust brush sizes works fine on either display as does scrolling the thumbnails in the Grid view.

Since installing LTR 5.4, which I've now upgraded to 5.6, I've encountered repeated slowness and malfunctions in operations, especially when using the Compare View function and the Tab key to open and close the right and left side panels.  Such problems never arose during two years of using LTR-4 and nothing else has changed on my computer.  I have a pretty simple system with only a few plug-ins, which are usually not in operation.  I have 12GB of RAM in my Windows 7 PC.  I could illustrate these problems with screen shots if you would tell me how to submit screen shots.  Otherwise I will try to describe the problems in words.
The problem is clearly cumulative, growing worse as usage time passes.  Compare View feature gradually slows down and eventually seems to choke as my work session proceeds. If I Exit LTR and re-enter and start all over, things will work normally for maybe 30 minutes, but then the Compare View feature begins to become very slow to respond.   In a recent example with my screen full of thumbnails in Library mode I highlighted two images to compare. LTR started to open the Compare View screen by first having the top row of thumbnails disappear to be replaced by the "SELECT" and "CANDIDATE" words in their spaces  (but no images), but Compare View never succeeded in gaining control of the screen. After some seconds the top row of thumbnails reasserted its position and the Compare View windows disappeared. But LTR kept trying to bring them back. Again the top row of thumbnails would go away, Select and candidate would reappear, try again, and give up. This went on for at least 2-3 minutes before I tried to choose File and Exit, but even that did not initially want to respond. It doesn't like to accept other commands when it's trying to open Compare View. Finally it allowed me to exit.
To experiment I created a new catalog of 1100 images.  After 30-40 minutes, the Compare View function began to operate very slowly. With left and right side panels visible and two thumbnails highlighted, hitting Compare View can take half a minute before the two mid-size  images open in their respective SELECT and CANDIDATE windows. When the side panels are open and two images are in the Select/Candidate spaces, hitting the Tab button to close the side panels produces a very delayed response--25-30 seconds to close them, a few more seconds to enlarge the two images to full size. To reverse the process (i.e., to recall the two side panels), hitting Tab would make the two sides of the screen go black for up to a minute, with no words visible. Eventually the info fields in the panels would open up.
I also created a new user account and imported a folder of 160 images. After half an hour Compare View began mis-placing data.  (I have a screen shot to show this.)  CANDIDATE appears on the left side of SELECT, whereas it should be on the right. The accompanying camera exposure data appears almost entirely to the left of the mid-screen dividing line. Although the Candidate and Select headings were transposed, the image exposure data was not, but the data for the image on the right was almost entirely to the left of the line dividing the screen in two.
Gurus in The Lightroom Forum have examined Task Manager data showing Processes running and Performance indicators and they see nothing wrong.  I could also send screen shots of this data.
At this point, the only way I can process my images is to work 30-40 minutes and then shut down everything, exit, and re-start LTR.  This is not normal.  I hope you can find the cause, and then the solution.  If you would like to see my screen shots, tell me how to submit them.

  • How can I adjust the font size, etc., when completing a PDF form in Preview?

I would like to use Preview to fill-out or complete a PDF form.  The default font that Preview uses when I begin typing in a field is too large.  How can I adjust the font size.  And while I'm asking, can I also adjust the font color, weight, emphasis, etc.?

Whilst in the Preview application, press "Shift - Command - A" (⇧⌘A) simultaneously to show the markup toolbar, or click View, and select "show markup toolbar". There is an icon "A" near the right hand side of the now visible markup toolbar, click this icon to reveal all the font options.

  • VI Analyzer Front Panel Size and Postion Test fails

    Hi
We make a lot of use of the VI Analyser and I have been playing with the configuration settings to try and make it only fail the tests that matter to us and I have one test I do not understand correctly.
    From the LabVIEW help
Panel Size and Position—Checks that a front panel
completely resides within the bounds of the screen. The test also checks whether
the front panel is larger than the maximum specified width and height. If you
are using a multi-monitor system, the test fails if the panel does not reside
entirely within the bounds of the primary monitor. This test works only on
    standard, control, and global VIs.
I would like to apply this test, a simple check developers are not creating huge VI, it sounds simple enough, but I cannot seem to get this test to pass.
I am working with two monitors and this test fails when my VI is on either monitor with the message  "This VI's front panel does not reside entirely within the specified bounds (1280 x 1024)" my current screen resolutionis 1280 x 1024, so I assume as long as my VI front panel fits within one screen it should be a pass.
I can clearly see my that VI front panel (and block diagram for that matter) fits within the screen of either monitor. If I look at the VI properties of my VI the Window Size is 474 x 513, could anybody please suggest when why this might be failing.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Norbert,
Thanks for the prompt reply, my asking the question and your reply has made me play with this a little deeper and I have managed to solve my problem.
In case anyone else has a similar problem here are the details.
When you have two monitors and look at the Windows properites you see one monitor is identified as 1 and the other as 2, thses identities are based on the graphics card and the which monitor is plugged into which ouptput connector. You can then chose which monitor you wish to act as your primary monitor. You would suspect it would not matter once you have selected your primary monitor BUT IT DOES.
    My inital set-up
Left Hand Monitor    - idenity 2 selected to be primary monitor
Right Hand Monitor - identiy 1
With this set-up everything looks and acts as I expect it to task bar, icons etc on my primarry monitor.  However if you run the VI Analyser it will fail Panel Size and Position on BOTH the left and right hand monitors.
I crawlled under my desk and swapped the monitors cables round so now the set-up is
Left Hand Monitor    - idenity 1 selected to be primary monitor
Right Hand Monitor - identiy 2
Now the VI Analysers Panel Size & Position Tests will pass on the left hand monitor but fail on the right hand monitor, just as would expect.
It appears that LabVIEW is looking not only at the windows "Primary Monitor" setting but also the identies, this does not seem the behaviour I would expect nor the correct behaviour.
    cheers

  • How can you minimize or (turn) off the "side panel" in Web Intelligence in the view mode.

How can you minimize or (turn) off the "side panel" in Web Intelligence in the view mode.
It is possible to turn on/off options within the Side Panel by Customization of Groups.
But it seems You cannot influence the way Web Intelligence present (minimized or Off) the Side Panel in the IE??
Is there a solution for this??
If not, it would be a nice property of a Web Intelligence document in a future release.

    Hi Nico,
we patched up to BI 4.1 SP 3 Patch 2
    and look look
    click side panel to minimize
    so .. patch patch ...

  • Is side panel album artwork no longer visible in iTunes 11.x?

I have been frustrated by the inability to view album artwork in the side panel, for songs selected in list view. In iTunes 10.x, it was possible to add album artwork for a song (or group of songs) by dragging to the box on the side panel. Is this a thing of the past we have to adjust to, or am I missing a simple check box feature that allows the album artwork to be displayed in the side panel?

I'm having this problem too. The artwork was there and it doesn't matter if it's been sync'd to the iphone or not. The artwork has just gone missing. I have noticed that it also does this for the artwork on my TV shows. The TV shows were not purchased on iTunes but imported over. The artwork was there to begin with.
I have also noticed that if I 'Get Info' for the file in iTunes on either music or TV shows then the artwork come back.
However, I don't want to have to do this for all the files that are missing. For Info, it seems that around 10% of my artwork has suddenly gone missing.

  • LabVIEW 2010 Window Size/Panel Size Run-Time VI properties - unexpected behavior

I have used the VI Properties Windows Run-Time Position - Panel Size and VI Properties - Window Size to set the desired display size for use on the application PC.
A strange thing happens, when I first open the application window, it is smaller than the specified Window Size and Panel Size (both set to 1064 x 728).  However, if I click on a horizontal border the window's vertical size snaps instantly to the 728 pixel value and the horizontal size in unchanged, still smaller than the 1064 value specified.  When I click on a vertical border, the horizontal size changes to the specified value.
I don't believe this is how these properties were intended to work.  They should open the application in a window sized as specified.
Is this a known problem?  Is there a workaround.

I regret that I cannot post my employers' proprietary code.  I have tried to duplicate the problem with a publicly distributed VI and been unable to do so.
I believe now that it is possible my VI was "straddling" two monitors when I made the initial changes.
Later compilations were made using different VI properties and do not show this problem.
I have attached a file showing the relevant VI property settings used in the aberrant VI compilation.

I keep on adjusting the duration of the IMOVIE clips, hit Done , and when I go check the clip, it reverts to the original duration. Any suggestions??

Error -69 suggests a possible problem with the source files on your computer. Check the source disk for errors and backup if you don't already do so. See HT1210: iTunes displays a -69 error when syncing iPod for more details.
The SyncToy backup program is also a good way to identify exactly which files cannot be read. Repeated runs may succed in copying files which won't copy over on the first attempt.
    See also Corrupt iPod classic.
It may also help to disable any AV software while syncing or set exclusions on the media folder and the iPod's drive.
