I cannot apply the signed patch 118855-36 because of bad signature.
I have installed Solaris from original DVD,
exported proper Root CA:

Yes - I am having this problem getting this patch to stick, however it seems that my issue is with the cert.
I get the following message:

Applying the right patch (from metalink)

Hello,
I have a question about the patches for Oracle Lite. We use Oracle Lite 10g with the patch Set (PatchNr.: 4082779).
From time to time there are a few errors, which aren't covered in this patch set.
My problem is the following: There are a lot of patches covering the same errors. So, should I take always the latest version?
Another question is, can I take any patch, although we have the Mini Patch Set 4082779 installed? Or do I have to take care about something ? Are there any patches, which belong only to 10.0.0.0.0 Version?
One more: If I apply an patch. Can I see somwhere, if the patch updates the client? We use CE 4.2, so we can't use Mobile manager to get the Client. We take the the Cab - File from the File system. But I don't think the cab - File will be updated by an patch? So how can I update the client, if it is necessary?

You cannot apply a particular patch in a PSU - you have to apply the whole PSU, unless that particular patch is available as a one-off patch. Always follow the instructions included in the README

User cannot see the "-" signs on amounts in ALV report

Hi all,
We have a problem with a user, who cannot see the signs on the amounts in an ALV report:

The user has tested this report with his user, and another test user, on his computer and on another computer. It does not change anything, he cannot see the signs "-" on the amounts.
But when I launch the same report on the same client, I cann see the signs:

So, I think it does not come from his user (he has tested with two different users), or from his computer (he has tested on two different computers).
Do you have any ideas?

Having seen and "played" with an NB100-12a the other day I must agree that the grey letters on black keys
aren't a clever idea - its bad enough that the keys are so small also.
I currently own a satellite Pro with which I am very happy ( apart from the inclusion of Windows Vista which I
don't particularily like ) and found this machine easy to "drive" BUT due to the keyboard size and lettering
I won't be buying one ( unless they do a redesign - an acer aspire one keyboard and touchpad or NC10 style
design ) and I think that the price of these machines has recently dropped from approx £300 to approx £270
due to poor take up by the public mainly for the above reasons.
Sorry Toshiba looks like i'll be buying an NC10 - unless I hear of a possible redesign.#

Captivate 7: "Cannot apply the new theme"

I'm trying to apply a new theme on a Captivate 7 project and keep getting the error message "Cannot apply the new theme". Any suggestions as to how to fix this? It's driving me insane and I really don't want to start my project from scratch.

When you reinstalled, did you first delete the Public Layouts folder, not the one in the installation folder of CP? Which OS do you use, I'm on Win7, and this is the path to that folder:
You can still delete it now, when you restart Captivate it will be refreshed, recreated. Same question about Preferences....

Applying the ASM patch

Hi All,
Recently , we applied the patch on one of our ASM instance , as we hit ORA-04031 on ASM instance. Oracle suggested us to apply the patch and one of my colleague came up with these steps and
we successfully applied the patch. I have a few questions regarding these steps. I would appreciate , if you could offer your expert advise on my questions.
On step 1, we are using SRVCTL to stop all the instacnes running on one box. we have around 46 instance running on that node
my question is , in setp 1, what does -o and -s flag does.
On step 2 , what does sudo to <GRID_HOME> means using rootcrs.pl -unlock.
On step 4, we applied the patch to GRID_HOME , but need to understand of using -oh flag
Again on stp 5, why we need to run step number 5
On step 6, we are starting all the instances using srvct, but , just curious to know, about , why we need to provide the ampxt1d1_status file along with -n flag.
1. Task is to Apply the ASM patch
2. Stop all the instance running on ampxd1d1.
srvctl stop home -o <ORACLE_HOME> -s /u01/patches/tmp/ampxt1d1_status -n <nide> -t immediate
3. Running pre root script.
sudo /u01/app/11.2.0.3/grid/crs/install/rootcrs.pl -unlock
4.Apply the patch using opatch
opatch apply -oh /u01/app/11.2.0.3/grid -local /u01/patches/tmp/13951456
5. run following.
sudo /u01/app/11.2.0.3/grid/crs/install/rootcrs.pl -patch
6 Start the instance.
srvctl start home -o /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.3/dbhome_1 -s /u01/patches/tmp/ampxt1d1_status -n

1)     The -o specifies the oracle home and -s specifies a file path for the 'srvctl stop home' command to store the state of the resources. in this case (srvctl stop home -o) command will stop anything running from oracle home.
2)     rootcrs.pl with -unlock flag unlocks the crs home and make it ready for patching.
3)     the -oh flag of opatch command specifies oracle home to work on. This takes precedence over the environment variable ORACLE_HOME
4)     The -patch flag of the rootcrs.pl command specifies that the oracle home is upgraded and lock it.
5)     srvctl start home -o command will start the oracle home and any service is running from this home.

"Cannot apply the new theme"?

I have now seen a few threads related to my problem regarding themes. But none of those correct answers helped me with my problem.
I have the captivate 8 trial installed. My employer sent me a theme that the entire team uses in few different versions of captivate, including a successful theme import in captivate 8. I receive "cannot apply new theme".
None of the other threads have helped, and they were not were not captivate 8.
I simply start a new blank project, go to themes / browse, find the theme file (*.cptm). I receive the typical alert about all object styles will be over-written. When I click yes to proceed I get "cannot apply the new theme"
I am looking for any help.

This could be because of corrupt preferences.
We could try to recreate the preferences, however it will delete your customizations in the workspace. But we will not completely delete the preferences folder so we can get it back.
In order to recreate the preferences, please do the following.
Save your Project.
Close Captivate
Windows 7: C:\Users\[user name]\AppData (hidden folder)\Local\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 8 folder
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 8 folder
Mac: /Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Captivate 8 folder
Rename the Captivate 8 folder to anything.
Launch Captivate and test your project.

I plan to apply the newest patch to development system.
There are some ESR and ID objects already developed.
Can I apply the newest patch CIM, CR, XI TOOLS and JAVA SPs?
Are there any influence to have been developement objects?
The development objects in OLD SWCV couln't use and so on.

Yes already developed interfaces can have some problem and need to test all development.
You should read the release notes as well before applying new SP.

Need advice: Accidentally applied the same patch twice

So I fumbled with my 10 PuTTy sessions and accidentally typed opatch apply in server that I had already patched. It asked me if the system was ready for patching and I hit "yes". It started "Updating" some files and in a bit of a panic I probably did exactly what I shouldn't have done... pressed ctrl+c to break the process. Should I be at all concerned? Should I...
- Reapply the patch (it doesn't do anything else but update more files)?
-Take the "updated files" from another recently patched environment and overwrite them in this one?
- Rollback the patch and reapply it?
- Leave it?

I actually ended up just doing an opatch rollback -id <Patch ID> followed by another opatch apply for that patch. Nothing seems to have gone wrong. I was worried earlier because I checked the md5 digest of some of the files and none of them matched up between environments with equal patch levels.

Unable to login RPD or Dashboard after applying the latest patch

I was earlier having OBIEE 11.1.1.6.6 instance, recently we have applied the OBIEE 11.1.1.6.8 patch. After applying patch I could not login to RPD or Dashboard. It errors out with Invalid Username or Password. FYI, when I tried to update GUID by setting the parameter to YES in NQSConfig.INI, and when I restart the BI server , it errors out saying could not connect to BI Security as update GUID parameter is set to YES.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Note: I could able to open my RPD in offline mode.

HT1311 I cannot change the signed-in ID on my iOS 7 device.

When I tap the signed-in apple ID.. Nothing happens.. It appears to be greyed out like it cannot be changed. Any ideas? Please help.

It sounds like you are going to the correct place to change the signed in Apple ID account but it is grayed out and so you cannot tap it to sign out. You may have Restrictions enabled in your settings set to restrict changes to your Accounts. Try checking that out with this article:

no glibc patch needed on Suse 6.2, just go ahead install it.
But you should get this new patch which can be found on
ftp.oracle.com/pub/www/otn/linux.
That fixes indeed several problems but not all...

How to apply signed patches to Studio 11 under Solaris 10?

I'm running Solaris 10 6/06 on a Sun W2100z (x86_64) workstation. I have a long history of experience with Solaris, but I'm not terribly familiar with the things that are new or different with 10, including zones and the new patch management tools.
I want to apply the latest patches to the various components of Studio 11, e.g. 120759-08,
121018-04, etc. Since all the other patches I've applied (for other OS subsets) have been "signed" patches, I was hoping to stay consisent and apply signed patches to Studio 11 too. I've been foiled at every attempt, though, so I'm looking for some help.
- if I use /usr/bin/updatemanager to select and attempt to apply the patches, I just get error
messages saying that the patches could not be applied:
121016-03 Sun Studio 11_x86: Patch for Sun C_x86 5.8 Compiler            Failed
Utility used to install the update failed with exit code {0}.
120762-02 Sun Studio 11_x86: Patch for Performance Analyzer Tools       Failed
Install of update failed. Utility used to install the update is not able to add packages. Utility used to install the update failed with exit code 5.... and so on.
- if I try using "smpatch" to add the patch, I get this error:
$sudo smpatch add -i 120759-08
add patch 120759-08
