Cannot assign user to position
Hi
In tcode PPOC i have created org unit and inside that I have created a position F_manager
but when i drag a USER to this position it doesnot get assigned...I also tried tcode PP01 but could not do it
Hi Tarang Shah,
Once the Org unit is created, right click the org unit and select 'Create' option.
Select the 'Incorparates' 'position' from the pop up. It will create a new position.
Then right click at the position and select 'Assign'.
In the pop up, select 'Holder - person'. It will search for the PERNR's and if you select any one PERNR then, system assigns the PERNR to that position.
Then use the PA30 to assign the user name to this Pernr.
Thanks,
Viji.

Now i want to assign that user or Central person to particular position using PPOSA_BBP. Please provide me step.
Regards.
Nishant BansalHi Nishant,
Please use tcode PP01 where you can open the relationships for a position and even create/change those relationships.
1) Choose "Position" in current plan
2) Mention position number and hit enter
3) highlight relationships
4) Hit create button
5) Create relationship "A008" with the userid

Cannot delete users from the Central Management Console
I cannot delete users from the Central Management Console. I'm logged in to Enterprise as administrator but still get the following error:
There was an error while writing data back to the server: Sorry, you do not have the right to 'Delete objects' (id - 22) for 'koberg' (id - 725415). Please contact your system or permissions administrator if you require this right.
Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.Oops, my mistake, sorry. Ok, so the Administrator cannot delete user koberg.
Check top level:
Logon to CMC, browse to Home > Settings and select the Rights tab. These are your top level settings. Factory default will show only Administrators and Everyone. Select the Net Access "Advanced" for the Administrators group. NB: Do not select these group names links - they will jump you out of the top level! On the Advanced rights page, ensure the right to "Delete objects" is explicitly granted.
Then set for the Users top level folder:
In the CMC, browse to Home, and select Users. Select the "Rights" button. Again - NB: Do not select these group names links - they will jump you out of the Users top level folder! Set the Administrators group to "Full Control". Save.
That should be all you need. However, there is a possibility the previous admin was busy setting security not only at the account level, but on groups so we need to verify the user:
In the CMC, browse to Home, and select Users. In the User list, select koberg. In the koberg account page, select the Rights tab. If the Administrators is not set to (Inherited Rights), make it so, and when you select the "Update" button, you should see the Net Access update to "Full Control". If this is the case, you should follow these steps on each account and accomplish this.
And if you still can't delete it, verify the groups:
In the CMC, browse to Home, and select Users. In the User list, select koberg. In the koberg account page, select the "Member of" tab. Note all groups koberg is a member of. Then in the CMC, browse to Home, and select Groups. Select the name hyperlink for the group(s) that koberg belongs to. On the group page, select the Rights tab, and ensure the Administrators have (Inherited Rights) - Full Control on all of these, also. If not, set it.
Finally, I know you inherited this, but let's overview some basics of simplifying your deployment administration. Follow these guidelines, and your administration life will be so much easier.
1. The Everyone group should never have any subgroups. Ever. All accounts on the system are a member of the Everyone group. Adding subgroups to the Everyone group is redundant.
2. For simplicity's sake, Application level access should be set on the Adminstrators Group, and the Everyone group. I know there are customers who add groups to application rights. I don't understand why users would have an account on the system if they are not allowed access to InfoView, but it's your system.
3. From a report object perspective, the Everyone group should be set at the top level to "No Access". This will result in them having no rights on anything at all. You break this inheritance at the application level to give them access to InfoView and other apps. On folders and objects, you ADD groups, then assign (ADD) rights as desired.
4. If you can help it, never explicitly deny a right to any user or group for any object or application. Explicitly deny overrides any other setting. If a user belongs to group A and group B, and group A is explicitly denied a right, you can explicitly grant it for group B or the user all day long, and it will still be denied. Always try to put yourself in the position of adding groups/users, and adding rights, then inheriting as far down the folder tree as you can. -
Problems with assigning user to Purchase Group
Hi all!
I'm trying to set-up standard workflow WS 20000397 - Handling invoices blocked due to price.
Somehow I left something out as nothing is sent to my inbox when a invoice is blocked.
It starts fine but it can't find and agent when I check the log.
I've created an org. structure with a company, that has one organizational unit under it.
To this I've assigned a position and thereafter a user to this with my user ID.
Then I've created an assignment in PFOM whera I assigned SO T024 001 (Purch. Group 1) to my newly created Position.
I have found Purch group 001 using F4 so no mispellings could be the case.
In the container I can see that it has found the correct purchasing group (001) with my created position (the S-code for the position is even shown as an agent in the container)
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Regards,
//Roland

Good day Kiran Kandepalli and Others.
I have successfully executed the background jobs -
Full User, Role, Profile Synchronization & a
Full Batch Risk Analysis
When I run the Management Reports I receive the following error -
Error while executing the Job:Cannot assign an empty string to host variable 10.
Has anybody had this error message before?
When I check table VIRSA_CC_PRMVL, variable 10 is set to No in Nullable collumn.Hi Sahad,
Thanks for your response. I have checked the usr02 table and logs and do not see any empty fields or strings. This process worked for 5.2 but fails in 5.3. Here is the excerpt from the log for the Management Report run. It seems to fail consistenly at a certain point. If I knew what the batch job was looking for in host variable 10 I might be able to resolve the problem. It seems to fail when it starts to report on users.
Thanks.
Dan.

WARNING: Exception in Management Report Job: Cannot assign an empty string to host variable 10.

We are on GRC 5.3 support pack 4. Has anybody encountered this error? What does host variable 10 refer to?I checked our USOBT_C table and we have a lot of empty values. If this is allowed to be empty in SAP and this is the table that is uploaded into CC, why would all the fields in CC tables then be defined as NOT NULL? We suspect that since we had uploaded USOBT_C under 5.2 and if this had been an issue before, it may have been corrected when we upgraded to 5.3 but then the old data is still in our system. Is there an easy way to get around or correct this?
Thanks. -

Cannot Assign Archive and Retention Policies in Outlook 2010
We are having problems figuring out how we enable Archiving and Retention tags in Outlook. We have a new Exchange 2010 server with an Enterprise license key. We have run Microsoft Office professional plus 2010 on all of our clients (licensed through
our volume license service agreement). We have configured an Archive mailbox store and assigned accounts to use that store. The archive mailbox appears in the users Outlook, but they cannot assign policies to folders or items. The ribbon does not show the
option. I can see that it is configured to be part of the ribbon (when customizing the ribbon), but the option is not available to the user to actually select. I see user tags assigned to the user in Exchange, so I am at a loss as to where else to look for
the problem.
I see lots of documentation that says this is a licensing problem, but I am running the right components and think I have the right licensing. Is there a trouble shooting document or things I can check to make sure I have everything the way I need it to
be?We found our own answer on this. Not sure why, but we had to use powershell to start the Managed Folder Assistant for the user name we had configured:
Start-ManagedFolderAssistant -identity <username>
My guess is that if we had waited long enough this would have resolved itself. -
Identity service cannot find user
Installed BPEL 10.1.2
added user using jazn.jar
Now trying to log into worklist sample application
and I get identity service cannot find user. Do I need to assign any role(s) to new user.
Let me know.
I am seeing simple questions not getting answers. Is this an Active Forum?

Shared Services 11.1.2 Unable to remove assigned user from a security group
In Shared Services 11.1.2 - trying to remove a user from the assigned users list of a security group. Initially, I am able to remove the user and the assigned users total decreases by one - but when I relaunch the group properties - this user is still in there? The change does not hold. Any suggestions would be appreciated - thanks,
PaulHello Paul,
Not sure if this is related to yours, but it might be worth having a look at the following articles on Oracle support --
External users in EPM Shared Services (e.g. MSAD users) cannot be removed from Native groups if they have multiple IDs in the external user directory. [ID 1526569.1]
Users from External User Directories Cannot be Removed from Native Groups [ID 1272309.1]

hi,
Iam not able to assign user under the position in my org model.Am i missing on somethning? Can any one plz help me
thanks
ajayHi Ajay,
Right click on the Position and select 'Assign' -Select UserIf you are unable to see the users Then try following work around,
Check the Organizational Management set up
Path:SPROMaster DataBusiness Partner --Set Up Integration with Organizational Management.
1. Activate global HR integration by setting the main switch HRALX/HRAC to 'X'.
2. Activate the integration between business partners and organizational units by setting the switch HRALX/OBPON to 'ON'.
3. Activate the integration between business partners and employees by setting the switch HRALX/PBPON to 'ON'.
4. Numbers can generally be assigned in three ways when creating business partners:
a) Number is taken as before from the general internal interval for number range object BU_PARTNER.
b) Number is taken from the special internal interval for the object.
c) Number is taken from HR and given a prefix. A special external interval is used, which has to be defined as XX00000000 to XX99999999, where XX stands for any two letters.
Number assignment is set for organizational units using HRALX/ONUMB, and for employees using HRALX/PNUMB.
The number range object for all switch values is BU_PARTNER, the interval being dependent on the switch value. The internal standard interval is used for switch value 1, for switch values 2 and 3 the interval is defined by the switch HRALX/OSUBG or HRALX/PSUBG. For switch values 2 and 3, a grouping also needs be created for these intervals using transaction BUC2.
To enable the system to connect the grouping and the number range interval, the name of the grouping must be exactly the same as that of the corresponding number range interval. The name of the grouping is in the first column of the table.
If you choose number assignment type 3 for business partners with the role employee (switch HRALX/PNUMB = 3), create the switch HRALX/PSUBG manually in table T77S0.
5. If you would like users to be informed by e-mail when errors occur, the recipient can be defined in switch HRALX/MSGRE (0=No messages, 1=Workflow administrator is notified, 2=User receives mail, 3=Both are informed).
6. If addresses are required to generate business partners correctly, the switch HRALX/OADRE must be set to 'X'. The standard address to be assigned to every organizational unit without its own address can be defined using HRALX/OADBP.
To create a standard address, create a business partner with an address and then enter this business partner's number in the switch.
7. If qualifications for employees are also to be transferred, the switch HRALX/PQUAL must be set to 'X'.
Effects on Existing Data
If you have already transferred employees from a connected HR System in an earlier CRM Release and have now upgraded, the relevant employees (personnel numbers) must be transferred again to the CRM System by initial distribution. This enables important employee information to be stored in the target system, and changes to be transferred correctly to the business partner master records.

I have a few users added to my team. However, on the kanban board, i cannot assign a ticket to anyone but myself.
What do I need to do to allow this?Hi Dugong,
Thanks for your post.
What’s the version of your TFS?
Do you mean that when you opened Task work item from Kanban board, you cannot assign it to your other team members? If yes, please open the ticket from VS and check if you can assign it to other team members. If still cannot assign it to other members in
VS, please check if you customized the Assigned To field rule in your ticket work item type.

Assigning Users to Groups on LDAP thru EP
Hi,
I have configured EP6 SP7 with multiple LDAP(MS-ADS)servers. I can read/write the groups and users to LDAP through EP. But i cannot assign the users to groups through Enterprise Portal. Also if i assign users to a group in LDAP on LDAP server itself, these assignments does not show up in the portal. do i have to configure my dataSourceConfiguration_multiLDAP_db.xml file? if so then which parameter?
Please advise.
regards,
HassanDear Hassan,
Need a clarification. If users are assigned to a group in LDAP, Can you see the same thing reflecting in portal?
I have configured LDAP as UME and I am able to see a group of LDAP appearing in Portal. But when I see the list of users assigned to this group, its empty.
Any clues or suggestions.
Regards,
Sreeram
