Cannot assign vendor manually in ME57

Dear SAP gurus,
We have a scenario where the buyer will see the worklist of PR thru ME57; assign the source accordingly and process the follow-on documents. Generally thru ME57 the buyer would need to source the requirement to a contract or create RFQ.
However there is a scenario where buyer will be able to assign the vendor manually. In ME57; there is a button to do the assignment manually. I click this button and then put the vendor code. However I then got error message that the info record not exist yet.
Why is it so? If this is a direct appointment, why do i need to create an info record for the vendor-material first? It doesnt make any sense to me. Is there any way to avoid this message?
Please help.
Best regards,
John.

As per the SAP std ,the price has been taken from info record you have to create info record.how the system knows the price of the material if you are not creating info record.any way if you want assign without info record you can assign the vendor ,provided you should change the error message into warning in spro->mm->environment data--->attributes of system messages ---> version 00:appl area :06 no:341  category:w(warning)

  • OpenSQLException - Cannot assign double value

    Hello,
I have some table in database with field of type 'double'. I use JDBC to store data in this table and sometimes I would like to place special values in it, eg:
    preparedStatement.setDouble(1, Double.MIN_VALUE);
Unfortunately I get exception like the one below.
My question is: what is the allowed range of values for type 'double' in database according to OpenSQL spec ?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Thank you for your replay. I didn't touch DB directly, I defined db structure through NetWeaver Dictionary perspective and table that i'm interested in is defined like the one on this screen: http://zduniak.com/tmp/sap_dictionary_double.png
So I'm looking for generic solution (SAP OpenSQL), not specific to any particular DB vendor.
Maybe there is somewhere on help.sap.com (i couldn't find unfortunately) information what is the allowed range of values for type 'double' in database according to OpenSQL spec ?
    Thank,
      Marcin Zduniak

  • How to assign vendor to condition type by default?

    Hi,
Here one import PO is having more than 100 line items and for each condition type different, different vendor has to be assigned.
Is there any way to make it default before only like all custom duty conditions belong to one custom clearing vendor only all the time, so that each and every time they need not assign it manually..
How to do it pls let me know..
    regards,
    Sanjana

    Hi,
You can create an access sequence for the customs conditions, for example with condition table 780 for plant. In this case you can maintain the import duty condditions based on plant. You can assign the access sequence to the import duty conditions. Now you can maintain the condition records for the import duty conditions in MEK1 based on the access sequence. Since the duty rates may change, you may maintain the condition records without duty rates. Now go to details of the conditions, where you will find "Vendor" field. There you can assign the customs vendor, so that it will be defaulted all the time based on the access sequence (In my example, based on plant).

  • Create Vendor manually by XK01

    Dear Gurus ,
I am not able to create a Vendor with internal number range assignment.
I have defined a vendor account group 8598  for services provider account group vendors and assigned a number range 85980001 to 85989999  to it with internal  number range assignment. I have uploaded 25 vendors starting from number 85980001 to 85980025 from that number range with BDC.
Now I wants to create 26th vendor by T code XK01 manually but at the time of saving , system shows vendor with number  85980001 is already created . In XK01 I am not giving 85980001 number as internal number range is defined for this vendor account group.
Logically system should create a vendor manually with next number as 85980026, but why it is considering first number from the range which is already consumed and system is not able to save vendors created  manually by XK01
    Regards
    Nilesh

    Hei,
Check the LFA1 table with the vendor range that you just created with your user -id.
If they were saved then you will see them in LFA1. You can also use the vendor number you just created and display it in XK03. You will know if were created or not
I guess the 25 records that you processed through BDC were never saved.Sometimes we tend to forget to pass "SAVE" data. So the BDC runs with no errors but it doen't really create any records.
And if none of your records were created try the first one manually and save it.
    Thanks.

  • GRC 5.3 - Management Report Error: Cannot assign an empty string to host..

Good day Kiran Kandepalli and Others.
I have successfully executed the background jobs -

    Full Batch Risk Analysis
When I run the Management Reports I receive the following error -
Error while executing the Job:Cannot assign an empty string to host variable 10.
Has anybody had this error message before?
When I check table VIRSA_CC_PRMVL, variable 10 is set to No in Nullable collumn.

    Hi Sahad,
Thanks for your response.  I have checked the usr02 table and logs and do not see any empty fields or strings.  This process worked for 5.2 but fails in 5.3.  Here is the excerpt from the log for the Management Report run.  It seems to fail consistenly at a certain point.  If I knew what the batch job was looking for in host variable 10 I might be able to resolve the problem.  It seems to fail when it starts to report on users.
    Thanks.
    Dan.

    Oct 16, 2008 12:13:29 PM com.virsa.cc.xsys.bg.BatchRiskAnalysis runBkgMgmReport
WARNING: Exception in Management Report Job: Cannot assign an empty string to host variable 10.
com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: Cannot assign an empty string to host variable 10.
We are on GRC 5.3 support pack 4.  Has anybody encountered this error? What does host variable 10 refer to?

I checked our USOBT_C table and we have a lot of empty values. If this is allowed to be empty in SAP and this is the table that is uploaded into CC, why would all the fields in CC tables then be defined as NOT NULL?  We suspect that since we had uploaded USOBT_C under 5.2 and if this had been an issue before, it may have been corrected when we upgraded to 5.3 but then the old data is still in our system. Is there an easy way to get around or correct this?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
sometimes I get this exception, when updating a bo instance.
I didn't managed it to reproduce the error, because it is thrown in a complex background job.
Can anybody give me more information about the reason behind this?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I got the same exception with the following code:
    stringVarible="someString"+someMethod.getValue();
here getValue returns String. But sometimes it may return null valu also.when it returns null value, the same SQL Exception will occure becuse we are trying to save a string in SQL which is blank padded.
I think your code is also having the similar problem.

How can I find out where is the problem?

    Hi
That looks like your fields are disabled but they could still be causing the problem edited ( nah - talking rubbish as you've put dummy " " in there) edited - the 'null' error caused many background jobs to fail but, once we had the evidence to show the space (somebody had pressed enter instead of delete/backspace to clear the entry) it stopped the problem - just a bit of learning on the job which we all go through for the GRC chaps in KL.
    A " " would be valid but a    (I know you can't see it but it's there wouldn't be      )

The word doc option does sound good!

  • Cannot Assign Archive and Retention Policies in Outlook 2010

We are having problems figuring out how we enable Archiving and Retention tags in Outlook.  We have a new Exchange 2010 server with an Enterprise license key. We have run Microsoft Office professional plus 2010 on all of our clients (licensed through
our volume license service agreement). We have configured an Archive mailbox store and assigned accounts to use that store. The archive mailbox appears in the users Outlook, but they cannot assign policies to folders or items. The ribbon does not show the
option. I can see that it is configured to be part of the ribbon (when customizing the ribbon), but the option is not available to the user to actually select. I see user tags assigned to the user in Exchange, so I am at a loss as to where else to look for
    the problem.
I see lots of documentation that says this is a licensing problem, but I am running the right components and think I have the right licensing. Is there a trouble shooting document or things I can check to make sure I have everything the way I need it to
    be?

We found our own answer on this. Not sure why, but we had to use powershell to start the Managed Folder Assistant for the user name we had configured:
    Start-ManagedFolderAssistant -identity <username>
My guess is that if we had waited long enough this would have resolved itself.

  • Cannot assign operations into an RPC Service (x)

I've been running a flex application for years now, and added a couple lines of code to it and all of a sudden started getting "Cannot assign operations into an RPC Service (x)" and "Cannot assign operations into an RPC Service (y)" out of no where.  I can't figure out whats happening.  I even took out the code I added before it started happening and its STILL happening... what is this? its the first time I've seen it!

FYI: It appears to be happening when I try to change states: currentState = "XXX"

  • Rcmd: socket: Cannot assign requested address on Solaris 10

    Hi,
I am having some problems with rsh/remsh on solaris 10
while trying to rsh from a V890 to another V890 , I am getting this error message sometimes "rcmd: socket: Cannot assign requested address" and the /var/adm/messages file shows this
May 26 11:26:54 hostname rsh[7895]: [ID 521673 daemon.notice] connection from "hostname" (IP address) - bad port
This is causing an issue because the app team is cont.injecting files from/to servers
the release level is Solaris 10 5/08 and the patch level is Generic_127127-11
    Any help would be appreciated

Try to reduce the tcp wait time to 1 minute.
    #ndd -set /dev/tcp tcp_time_wait_interval 60000
This setting do not survive a reboot. Tune the paramter to the value which works fine for you. Create a script with the correct setting and add it to rc scripts directory.
