Cannot attach photos to email in iOS 8.0

After upgrading to iOS 8.0, I can not attach photos to my emails.  This has never been a problem before the upgrade.

Which mail client are you using?
Can you mail directly from the Photos.app using the "Share" options?
Apps, that have not been updated to iOS 8 compatible versions cannot see all photos, only the photos in the "Recently added" album. As a work-around send photos directly from the Photos.app or add the photos to an album. Then other apps should be able to access the photos. There is also a bug with accessing photos by third-party apps that will be fixed in the next iOS8 update.

Since I installed iOS 8 yesterday, I can no longer attach photos to email. It just cycles and cycles but photos will not attach. PLEASE HELP!! Thank you!!!!

    Hello DaynaE65,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. You may want to consider performing a restart, or a reset to address the issue:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities

When i sent photos via email on iphone 4S from official email, the receiver will not get photos in attachement only in wall.
Anybody can tell me srouce to solve this issue please........

I am not sure now what to suggest other than contacting your e-mail provider to see if they have any ideas. Even with a full sized pictures, mine have always gone through. Hopefully someone else will see this and be able to offer some help.

  • Cannot attach photo to email using OWA

Instead of attaching the image I get the following message
    [cid:0C3A1F28-8A59-4013-B782-A4A85A17D897]
    Any ideas ?

For others who might have a similar issue I think I have solved it and it is to do with the signature on the iPhone
If you have a signature which is html (most likely created by copy and paste), the
picture is embedded into the mail. If your signature is plain text (or you have
no signature at all) the picture is attached.
    How I tested...
I sent pictures while I have no signature.
    The picture is attached.
I type a signature manually. The picture and the signature are attached.
I create a signature by copy and paste (signature copied from another mail, or from notes) and now when I send a
picture, it is inline aong with the html signature.

  • 'Attach photo' to emails and messages has stopped working. Help?

'Attach photo' to emails and messages has stopped working.
The function is grayed out. Help?
    — Relatively new iPhone 6+ with latest system ...
If on a mac, I'd be running a disk utility or looking to overwrite an app, or re-install the system.
Although over 25 years on Macs, this is my first iPhone... and I'm missing a few (probably) subtle things to do to resurrect this function.

    Hi CartoonBob,
If you are having issues with being unable to attach a photo from Mail on your iPhone, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

  • Cant attach photos to email after "upgrade" to Photos...why?

    HI,
So recently Apple updated (hijacked) my iPhoto app on my computer with their "new and improved" Photos software.  While is good to have some long needed features like a useful file system, I seem to have lost some core functionality.  I use Outlook as part of Office for Mac and can no long attach photos to emails.  Yes, I know Apple and Microsoft hate each other and neglect if not sabatoge each other's stuff, but attaching a photo/image to Outlook email seems to be basic functionality Apple left out.
PLease discuss this and let me know if I'm missing something simple or how I might be able to fix this major problem.  Otherwise how do I downgrade my software to the last iPhoto version so I can once again send an image over email.
i Realize that Apple may not have done this intentionally, but I never volunteered to be a beta tester for their new software.  Apple is niave if they think people don't use MS Office on Macs.  BTW, I have 3ipads, 3 macs, 2iphones and just purchased 4 watches...I hope there is an easy fix for this.
    THanks!
    Jeff

Nothing was hijacked. iPhoto is still on your Mac in the Applications folder. It was just replaced in the Dock with Photos during the 10.10.3 installation.  If you were running iPhoto 9.6.1 you can still use it with your iPhoto Library.
It's MS's responsibility to update Outlook so it can work with Yosemite and Photos, not Apple's  The same goes for all of the may other applications. It's the developers of those apps that must do the job. So don't blame Apple for their dropping the ball.
And remember upgrading to Yosemite was entirely voluntary on your part.
If you don't have iPhoto 9.6.1 then you can get it by following Terence Devlin's method in this post:

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

  • Trouble attaching photos to email  with iMac

When I try to attach photos to emails with my iMac, it always puts them in the email instead of attaching them. I'm clicking on the paper lip and selecting the photos, but it then inserts the photos into the email.
    Thanks

Either control+click or right click on the attachment within the body of the email and select 'View as icon'. You may also want to check that 'Always send Windows-friendly attachments' is selected in Mail>Edit>Attachments.

  • AdBlockPlus is preventing me from attaching photos to emails I want to send via gmail. How to I fix this?

Quite some time ago I switched to Mozilla Firefox, and installed AdBlocker. Have had NO ads since then and have been very happy with it. Ever since I've had AdBlocker, when I go to attach a file to an email I'm about to send in gmail, I see a little word "Block" pop up over "Attach a file". I just always ignored it. Now, however, I find I am unable to attach photos I want to send. When I click on that little word "Block" I get a whole menu that I don't really understand titled Add AdBlock Filter Rule.
It shows this in the "New Filter" field at top: "||mail.google.com/mail/uploader/*. Under that a "Blocking Filter" radio button is selected, and under, under "Look for "Pattern", I see the item "mail.google.com/mail/uploader/*" is selected. At the bottom of the screen is a radio button "Custom" that has https://mail.google.com/mail/uploader/uploaderapi2.swf after it, but that button is not selected.
I just removed all custom filters in an attempt to get rid of whatever is disallowing me to attach photos. But that didn't work. Any ideas? I'm lost.

OK. Thank you. Is there any way to get rid of that little "Block" pop up above over "Attach a file" when composing an email in Gmail? I think the problem I'm having (being prevented from attaching photos to emails) is because I may have inadvertently clicked that Block pop-up numerous times. I can't think of any time when I would want to block myself from attaching items to email I compose. So I don't really need that pop-up. How can I stop that from appearing?

  • Cant attach photos to email since i got iOS 8

I uploaded iOS 8 when it came out. Since then I have been unable to attach photo's to emails.

Same here also. IOS and all apps up to date. Gen 2 iPad. Will not attach photos in webmail for Hotmail, gmail or Yahoo mail.
Nothing. They all act like they are attaching the file but just sit and the status icon just spins, and spins, and spins.
Before IOS 8, there never was a problem....Makes me glad I'm using and Android phone.

  • Attaching photos to email

I have an iphone 4 and want to pick the size of photo to attach to an email before it attaches. My phone used to let me do this but then last night, it stopped and now only seems to attach a full res pic. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Your profile states you're using iOS 3.1.3 with your iPhone 4, which isn't possible. Which iOS do you have? Jailbroken?
There's never been a "size" option for emailing photos in any iOS version. Emailing videos gives you an option to edit the video to a smaller size.

  • Cannot attach photo when only exchange account configured

    Hi,
I Configured my iphone 4 (iOS 6.1.3) with my organization Exchange account.
This is the only account on my device and i have a strange problem.
When i go to the photo app and select a photo and try attach it to a new email, it send me to the "Add account..." page, like i didn't set any account although i have the exchange account already.
If i'm going to the mail app and on the body i choose attach photo or video - it's working but i must have the other way too.
    Has anyone encountered this problem?
    Thanks.

Have your IT folks check the profile for this account. There's a security setting:
    Use Only in Mail
Send outgoing mail from this account only from Mail app
If that box is checked, you'll experience the behavior you're experiencing.

In the past I was able to attach several photos to an email.  Recently I cannot attach evenone photo.  I get the message:  "This file exceeds your attachment limits."Why is this happening?

  • Using Firefox 4.0 sometimes I can attach photos to email and most often the Attach feature doesn't work. How can I fix this?

    I have Firefox v4.0.1
If I restart my laptop or my Desktop, both with MS OS, my email, AT&T Yahoo, Firefox browser, will allow the attach feature, for photos to work for a few photos. The when I click to attach another photo, nothing happens. At first I was trying to attach several photos at once. That didn;t work at all. Then I tried attaching one at a time. I thought I had solved the problem because that will work if I retart first. But then not. This is a problem that could make me go back to using IE. I need to be able to attach photos! By the way, I didn;t have this problem before I upgraded to v4.0.

If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
    * Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded
