Cannot Authorize another computer!

I have 3 authorized computers in my profile. 2 remaining.
My family has an iMac over in Europe and I need to authorize this machine, so they can listen to my music as well.
Whenever they attempt to authorize the machine everything goes well and the message saying that the authorization was successful appears on the screen.
However, if they try to play any of my music, a login window shows up, asking for my ID and PSW because the machine is not authorized.
DO THEY HAVE TO BE LOGGED INTO THE USA ITUNES MUSIC STORE? THAT'S WHERE I BOUGHT ALL MY MUSIC.
What is going on? Any ideas?
Also, how can I deauthorize all computers, if I don't have 5 authorized. I guess the DEAUTHORIZE ALL button doesn't appear until you reach your limit.

I've found out that the best way to deauthorize one of the machines is to authorize as many PCs as you can, until you reach the limit (5), then you will get the option to deauthorize them all and start over. Until you reach the limit, the option is not available - this comes in handy, if you want to deauthorize a computer you no longer have access to!

You don't have any menubars at the top of your computer's iTunes ? I still see them on my Mac on iTunes 11 :

You may have already done this, but try de-authorizing your computer (through the iTunes:Store menu) and then re-authorizing it.

What do you mean it won't let you? What exactly does it say? (Sorry to sound so exasperated but this is like the 6th post in a row where people have made vague statements which do little to help us find solutions without a game of 20 questions.) I'm going to guess and say you can only deauthorize a computer to which you have physical access or VPN login. The alternative is to deauthorize all which you can only do once a year.

TS1389 I have deauthorized 3 of the 5 computers and it still says I cannot authorize this computer?

I have gone through the steps listed to deauthorize 3 devices. My account now only shows the 2. Now i cannot authorize this computer as it stops me saying cannot because of 5 authorized.

As far as I'm aware, the only way to do it is to De-authorise All. You cannot simply de-authorise three without the other two.
Only once you have De-authorised All, can you then Authorise the two remaining computers that you are using.
Therefore this, combined with you "getting a message" saying that you have five authorised, suggests that you have not managed to achieve what you wish. Where - or rather how - did you "get this message"? If you look at your account information in the iTunes Store, what does it say under Computer Authorisations?

Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state. This is almost certainly what happened here.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.

Can't authorize another computer with the same account ?

I have 2 computers, one older than the other.
- on the older, I have the old version of ADE w/ lots of ebooks on it. I had it authorized (created an account etc...).
- on the new one, I have recently downloaded the new version of ADE, without authorizing it at first.
I wanted to transfer my ebboks from the older computer to the new one. It appeared I couldn't because the books were unauthorized or something like that. So I tried to get the authorization for the new computer, and the new version of ADE. The message when I try to fill in my usual ID/Password is "You can authorize this computer only if you do not use an ID that has already been comitted to an another computer or mobile device. Please Try again" (excuse me if its not exactly what you know : I'm french, and I tried to translate the message).
I have been reading the Q&A on the subject, and none of the questions mention this type of message. I am actually trying to get rid of one of my two computer. Of course I need to authorize w/ the same account. It can't be that you are bound by one computer or device ...
I do not use any device now : my old one is broken, so I read on my comptuer.
Please, can someone give me advice ?
May be I can get my old ebooks by another method ?

Almost certainly you have hit an incorrect error message from ADE. Usually ADE gives meaningless error messages, but just to keep the user on his/her toes it sometimes likes to give meaningful but incorrect error messages.
Try deauthorizing your new ADE using ctrl-shift-D (cmd-shift-D if on a Mac).
Restart and then try again to enter your usual ID/Password.

Go to your account information.
Under Apple ID summary, you'll see "Computer Authorisations".
Delete them all.
Re-authorise your current computer to play your music - if that's necessary at all, wasn't necessary for me.
In iTunes , select Store (in the menubar) then 'authorize this computer'

open the itunes store.
Look at the top of your computer screen for the word "Store".
Click it.
