Cannot Authorize My Flickr Account in LR4.1 RC2

I am unable to authorize my flickr account in Lightroom. I had long used the LR publishing service to upload my photos to flickr. When I upgraded to LR 4.1 I experienced the same problems as everyone else. I have now upgraded to LR 4.1RC2 and I understand that LR4.1 RC2 corrected the link with Flickr. I no longer get the error message that I had been getting with RC1. However, LR wants me to authorize my account. When I try to do that I get a message that It will take me to a web page in my browser to log in to Flickr. I then tell it to authorize but nothing happens. It does not open a window in my browser. Is there some other way to login to my flicker account through LR so I can get it to authorize? What should I do differently to get LR to publish to my flickr account?

It happend to me also, this is how I fixed it:
1. Go into your flickr services page: www.flickr.com/services/
2. Click on the link "Apps You're Using"
3. You will see a list of apps you are using and should see Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
4. Click "Remove permission?" next to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and revoke this apps permissions.
5. In Lightroom configure the Flickr publish service: click on the "Authorize" button and your browser will popup again as usual. Authorize and return to lightroom. All fixed

Cannot Authorize My SmugMug Account In Aperture

I signed up for a SmugMug account a few months ago. Never had any problems uploading photos until a few days ago. Long story short, as a final resort I tried deauthorizing SmugMug in preferences, then reauthorizing. Now when I attempt to reauthorize, the system asks "Do you want to publish to SmugMug?" I click on the "setup" icon and it just sits...loks like its authorizing but nothing happens. Any ideas? I recently started
Note: I recently started using Lightroom 5. Coud there be a conflict somewhere? Also, I've double checked my permissioning in SmugMug and Aperture is definitely permissioned. Thanks!

Lightroom5 unable to authorize Flickr account?

When attempting to authorize my Flickr account in Lightroom 5, I get the following error message "Could not contact the Flickr web service. Please check your Internet connection." I'm using Safari. Lightroom 5 is the only version of Lightroom I have ever had.
I am looking for a solution to fix this problem. Surely there's a solution that would allow me to continue using Safari and not have to download a separate plug-in.

Hah, so this thread ends the same as so many others...someone behind the scenes realizes the oopsie et voila, problem mysteriously disappears into the Internet ether from whence it came.
In all seriousness, though, this issue has been going on since at least a few days. For shared services like this I usually look for other posts to see if anyone else is experiencing the issue within the same timeframe. This was the first thread I found that coincided, and that was already at least day 2 into the issue as far as I could see.
Either way, the timing was unfortunate such it was this weekend that I finally decided to try Flickr out for the first time, and I was really looking forward to using it in conjunction with LR. The steps to get them to work together were very straightforward...but with all the simplicity it still wouldn't work and only made it that much more frustrating. Talk about getting a sour first impression of both the LR software integration and the Flickr service! Being a techie, I still felt compelled to investigate further, looking at my system logs (but not so far as doing packet sniffing) in search of any clues as to what was going on in the communication behind the scenes since the LR error messages were not very descriptive. The jf Flickr plugin at least referred to an HTTP error.
Since I made no changes to my system or to the software, it's reasonable to assume the problem was on the server side.
Ah well, one can't complain too much using a free service...even though I was willing to pay them money for a subscription.

So, I bought a new Macbook Pro which i cannot authorize my itunes for. I don't even have the button indicated in the support section to authorize or deauthorize. I only have one device authorized to my account. I cant remember my security questions and cannot figure out how to change them; I think this might be the reason why i can't authorize my new device. The only way to access my itunes from my Mac is to have my iphone plugged in. Someone please help! I am a complete tard and would like to avoid a trip to the actual Apple store.

Call Apple Care for your country and request that they assist you in resetting the security questions.
To authorize/deauthorize a computer, go to the Store dropdown menu in the iTunes app.

Cannot find Flickr account

I cannot find my own Flickr Account on my Apple TV. I think it has something to do with my privacy settings in my Flickr account. Does anyone know what setting to change in my Flickr Account without 'publishing' my Photo's all over the www?

you need to add your username, not display name.

Cannot authorize music from old AOL accounts

I'm having a hard time authorizing old music from aol accounts. Every time I'm prompted to authorize the music, it tells me to change my account (which I've already done). What do I do?

I was having the same problem after just getting a new computer. I was communicating with an Apple representative via email which helped me realize that I never converted my AOL account, I only created a new Apple account so everything had been on 2 separate accounts on my old computer. After realizing this I clicked on a song I wanted to play and it prompted me to authorize the AOL account. From here it then prompted me to update my AOL to an Apple ID. I used a different email, because the other apple id I created used my aol email so it wouldn't let me convert to that id. Ok so this all went successfully and I left billing info and everything the same. I clicked to authorize under the new apple id and it said authorization successful, but it still wouldn't let me play the songs. I looked into my purchase history and the songs I was trying to play were in fact under that account. I was confused and stumbled on this thread of posts. I simply looked at the post saying to deauthorize and reauthorize, and it worked! So I don't really know what happened, but that simple step worked. Thanks!

No longer able to authorize or deauthorize account

Everything was working fine until I did a fresh install. COMPLETE CLEAN install (no residue of that pesky old install!)
Now I cannot Authorize/Deauthorize/Buy or access my account in any way. All I get is a never-ending "Accessing iTunes Store…".
I can browse the store, play unprotected music, etc. But I can't get to all my account info.
As I said above, it is a clean install with no frills added. I can Buy apps on my iPhone, but not on the Mac.

If you no longer have, or access to, the computer(s) you want to deauthorise,
Log in to iTunes, go to "view your account info" on the itunes store, deauthorise all five,
(Please Note: this can only be done Once every 12 months)
Then re-authorize your current Computer(s) one at a time..

Hello,
I have a new Dell laptop running Vista. I waited until a new version of iTunes came out and downloaded 7.1 this morning. I backed up all my songs which has been successful and it looks like the album cover art is there too.
I continue to get this message which says:
You cannot authorize more than 5 computers...
You have already authorized 5 computers with this account. to authorize this computer you must first deauthorize one of the other computers.
I read the KB article and quite frankly am totally confused. My old laptop has been reformatted and given to a friend. iTunes was not installed on it.
How do I get rid of this annoying message? Should I attempt to synch up my Nano or wait first until I get help with this message. Sorry the KB about deauthorizing and authorizing is very confusing to me.
All I'm doing is trying to get my iTunes installed on a new laptop restored with all my old songs.

"Authorize" on Flickr export plugin doesn't open browser

I'm trying to authorize Lightroom to export to my Flickr account, but when I click "Authorize" nothing appears in my browser.
I am using Lightroom 4.1, and upgrading to 4.2 RC1 didn't resolve the issue. I've tried clearing my temporary files and re-installing Lightroom. I tried deleting my catalog and starting again. My default browser is currently Chrome, but when I make IE the default, I see the same behavior.
Any suggestions on getting Lightroom to show me the authorization dialog box so I can export to Flickr?

[Edit: skip down to my other reply to this thread. The problem was that the system clock and time zone were incorrect.]
I am experiencing the same symptom. In the Flickr Publish service configuration dialog, the Authorize button pops up a dialog that explains "Lightroom needs your permission to upload images to Flickr," but when I click that dialog's Authorize button, it appears to do nothing (no browser, no error message, etc.).
I am currently running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit and Lightroom 4.3 64-bit.
Here's a history of this problem.
I was using Windows Vista 64-bit with an updated Lightroom 3 (version 3.6?). I was publishing to Flickr using the built-in Flickr publish plugin. That worked flawlessly, and I never had a problem.
I then upgraded to Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. Unfortunately, I did not test Lightroom 3 at this point.
I then upgraded to Lightroom 4.3 64-bit.
After these upgrades, I tried to publish two photos to Flickr using my existing Flickr publish configuration. I believe that I got some error the first time, which I did not write down. I wasn't sure that the Flickr publish service would upgade correctly, and I did some searching online.
I'm familiar with the Flickr APIs, and I thought that after the upgrade, I probably needed to re-authorize the plug-in. I went to my Flickr account in my browser and revoked Lightroom's permissions. I may have also clicked "Remove Authorization" in the Flickr publish plugin's settings page. After that, I started hitting the problem described above. When I click the Authorize button, I never get a browser pop up.
I then tried a few things.
1) I verified the registry entries had the values described in this thrad: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3121076#3121076
2) I removed the old Flickr publish service that had been migrated from Lightroom 3.6.
3) I uninstalled Lightroom 3.6.
4) I ran the "repair installation" for Lightroom 4.
5) I ran lightroom.exe -register as the administrator.
6) I ran Lightroom 4 as the administrator.
Between each of those steps, I rebooted the machine. When the machine came back up, I opened Lightroom 4 and clicked the Flickr publish service's "Set up" button. I then when to the plugin manager and reloaded the Flickr plugin. Finally, I clicked "Authorize" in the Flickr plugin's settings. Every time, I get the same behavior. "Not authorized" in the settings dialog changes to "Authorizing..." while it shows me a dialog. I click the Authorize button in that dialog. I briefly see a different message in Flickr publish service settings page (Waiting for response...). Then it changes to "Not Authorized." I never see a browser or an error.
With each experiment, I tried with both IE and Firefox set as my default browser. I get the same behavior with both browsers.
I verified that running "start lightroom://www.flickr.com" from the Windows command prompt opens Lightroom 4.3. Therefore, I believe that the registry settings for the lightroom URL protocol are correct.
I have never used the Facebook publish service in the past, but I cilcked on the set up button for that plugin. When I click Authorize on Facebook, it launches my browser (or opens a new tab) for Facebook. Therefore, it looks like Lightroom plugins are able to launch the browser.
It seems like there's something wrong with the Flickr publish service plug-in itself. I'm not sure how to get any additional diagnostic information from the plugin. I'd be happy to try something else, but at this point, I'm out of ideas for troubleshooting.

You cannot use someone else's apps without violating the license agreement. The apps are tied to the owner (via Apple ID). The right thing to do would be to update and start fresh.

I am unable to play any of my music that I have bought from iTunes music store because when I try to play my music on my new computer it says "You cannot authorize more than five computers". In fact, I only have four computers using my iTunes music account. Any suggestions?
