Cannot Authorize to Reinstall HP Printer Drivers

I have had an HP Photosmart 2575 All-in-One since about November or so. It was all working fine until one day I tried to print from Microsoft Word. The print didn't get processed, the program said it could not locate the printer, and that I needed to choose one in printer utility. I went in and the computer cannot communicate with the printer. I ran my Virus Scan and found a file corrupted in the HP files. Tried to unistall and the program would not authorize, even though I am the only user on this computer, have the admin access, and the password is correct and still works for other installers. I manually deleted all of the HP stuff I could find, and then tried once more to un/install. Still says I do not have the admin access required. Can anyone help me out with this, I need my printer. I even tried to download different drivers from HP's website, they still said the same thing.

Start by repairing permissions (Disk Utility). Then restart and try installing again.

  • Win 8.1 and J4680c All-in-One: Can't reinstall the printer/drivers

I have followed all of the instructions to re-set up my wireless network, uninstall the printer/drivers, and reinstall the printer/drivers (including renaming all of the .dat files as .old), but once it gets to the install wizard, at the Checking System phase, it tells me:
    C:\Users\Patricia\AppData\Local\Temp\7zS41F0\Setup\hpzshlaut...
System cannot find the file specified.
What is this? I cannot get past it to finish reinstalling, so I cannot use any of the functionality of the printer other than printing! Can anyone help??
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Follow the steps below and check if that resolve the issue:
    1. Open Mcafee software, from the Virus and Spyware Protection section click on Schedule and run scans. Click on Real time scanning and then on Turn Off. select till I restart the PC and confirm by clicking the Turn Off button.
Now try reinstalling the HP Software and check if the installation goes as expected.

  • HT1338 Do I have to reinstall my print drivers after upgrading to 10.8? I seem to have lost both my printers and my ability to download from my camera. Never had problems with 10.7. I'm a little scared.

Do I have to reinstall my printer drivers after upgrading to 10.8? I seem to have lost the ability to communicate with either of 2 wireless printers and to download pictures from my camera. (Photoshop keeps telling me it can't find the device.) Any suggestions?

Have you repaired permissions and restarted your computer after installing ML?  Checked your printer settings in System Preferences?
If Software Update does not list any updated drivers for your model printer, you should go to the printer's manufacturer website and download the drivers from there and/or contact their tech support to determine if your printer is compatible w/ML.
Read the various Knowledge Base ML printing articles.  Here are a few to get you started:
OS X Mountain Lion: If the software for your printer can’t be found
OS X Mountain Lion: Troubleshoot a USB printer
OS X Mountain Lion: Troubleshoot an AirPort printer
If none of the above work, post back w/the model of your printer and how it's connected to your computer.  USB?  Wireless?

  • How do you reinstall just print drivers in Leopard?

I just began using my MacBook Pro running Leopard with an Epson Sylus Photo 2200. I am having trouble printing with it. I made the mistake of using the disc that came with the printer to install print drivers to my Mac. I am unable to print most of the time from most applications. Epson's web support says Leopard has the drivers already built in. Did I over write the drivers when I installed the old ones from the disc? And if so can I reinstall Leopard's Epson drivers without having to reinstall Leopard completely? Thanks in advance for you help.
    Steve

you are right, I forgot about that. this is definitely easier. to elaborate on john's post. insert the leopard install DVD open it in finder and double-click on optional installs->optional installs.mpkg. follow the instructions. on the screen with the choice of software to install choose printer drivers.

    I have a Toshiba; running Windows 8:
My laptop wasn't recognizing my HP Photosmart C309g Scanner for some reason. Although I could print, I need the scanner, so I decided to uninstall/reinstall everything.
Perhaps I uninstalled the wrong feature first, but whatever happened, my laptop had a hiccup & windows wouldn't load.  I used the onboard problem solving feature and windows did reload.
I returned to my efforts to reinstall the printer drivers (using the CD), but when the Setup window appears,  the Install option doesn't appear.  I only have the option to Exit the software setup window.
Does this mean there are still remnants of the previous installation?  In the Programs and Features list, there are remants (HP Cust Part Program; HP Imaging Device Functions; and HP Solution Ctr, all of which were installed at the same time as the printer driver.   Nothing happens when I right click to uninstall or double click on it to uninstall.
    Any suggestions?  Thank you!

  • Print Drivers

How do I reinstall the Print Drivers or previous settings that came with OS X 10.5.2? I have time machine installed and do not understand how I do back to a previous set up for my printer that was working prior to "resetting" the printers.

The printing system is managed by CUPS, a unix level print server. I don't know if you could recover the correct files. I don't have System Files selected for backup, so I can't get into them to see if it would work. The way I would envision it working is you open Print & Fax System prefs, enter Time Machine, and it would allow you to go back in time on the Printer list. However, I could not do this and don't know if it is because it is not programmed or that I don't have any system files backed up.
What problems are you having with your printers?

  • Cannot install OS X 10.6.2 Update or Hewlett-Packard Printer Drivers

Error message #1: "Mac OS X Update can't be installed on this disk. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
Error message #2 (regarding Printer Drivers): This volume does not meet the requirements for this update.
Disk in question is the startup volume. It has 164.35 GB free. OS X 10.6 was just installed about two hours ago, and the two updates were downloaded right after 10.6 was installed.

Is the drive partitioned using GUID and formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled? Have you done this:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Are you installing the 10.6.2 Combo Updater (not the incremental one?) The latter is slightly larger and has the word "Combo" in the title.
Did you update to Snow or did you install it on a freshly erased hard drive?

  • How can I uninstall Xerox print drivers and then reinstall them again

Somehow I installed the wrong print drivers for our xerox printers running on the latest version of leopard and installing the correct driver doesn't seem to solve the problem. I want to remove all xerox driver files and reinstall the correct version of the driver.

    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Most applications create preference files which are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can located them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.
There are also several shareware utilities that can uninstall applications:
    AppZapper
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • Cannot install Canon printer drivers after upgrade to Mountain Lion

Have got a MG3150 printer from Canon. which is in the supported list. I tried to add the new printer and get the message "can't install the software for the Canon MG3100 series becuase it is not currently available from the Software Update Server.
It says this,  in spite of giving me a message that they are available  when I attach the printer via USB. This does kick off an attempt to  to seek printer updates.
So both methods of updating the printer drivers fails.
I tried trashing the Cannon software and the PPD file for the MG3150 followed by a downloaded reinstall, but no luck.
    Any ideas, please?

  • Non admins trying to reinstall printer drivers

We are having an issue that started last night (after updates/maybe coincidental) That our users(Non-admins)  are having to reinstall the printer driver for the policy pushed printers. And unfortunately its prompting them for Admin creds. All the
printer deploys work just fine, and if a new user logs in the printer gets deployed fine. Its only when trying to refresh the driver. Only 1 driver that we are having issues with and it is the universal HP driver the other drivers are not trying to be reinstalled.
    Ideas?

    Dear friend,
Please enable the : "Allow non-administrator to install drivers for these device setup classes" policy

  • Unable to print, reinstalled printer drivers. Still unable to print.

I have been having this problem for about a week now, I have used spotlight to do a search and delete all printer files and preferences. I reinstalled the printer driver, and I still have the same problem. When I go to print the file spools to the printer and then nothing, it is gone no print out or anything. What am I overlooking?
As always thanks in advance for your reply to my posts,
    Sebastian

I had this very same problem.
The only way I could get either of my OSX systems to print was to set up a shared printer on an XP system I have and print to that.
I don't know why this works but it does, for me anyway.
    Good luck

  • Cannot install printer drivers

I have a Canon MP20 I bought from Apple a few years ago. I have recently upgraded my computer (2009 MPB) to Mountain Lion and have the printer connected to an Airport Extreme. The Print & Scan prefpane sees the printer and starts going though the motions of connecting me and installing the dirvers.
At first it tells me “The selected printer software is available from Apple. Click Add to download it and add this printer.” (image)
    I do.
I get a progress bar telling me the computer is “Finding software…” (image)
I then get an error message telling me, “Can’t install the software for the Canon MP620 series because it is not curently available from the Software Update server.” (image)
This appears to contradict the first messsage and leaves me unable to setup the printer.

More info: I just this minute installed the latest Canon inkjet printer drivers, found here. No change.
