Cannot back up my device using blackberry link

hi guys,
i have a problem with back up..i have z10 (SLT100-1) ...even its connected to the laptop it shows an error that verify that u r device is connected to pc and see that its turned on......
Can anyone please help me........

Swipe down on your homescreen and select Settings>Storage and Access. Scroll down to USB Mass Storage and make sure it's toggled to OFF. To use your phone as a USB drive (to view photos, videos, etc. on your computer), it needs to be ON however in order for your phone to connect to Link it needs to be OFF.

Using BlackBerry Link for tranfer

Hi, I want to tranfer my data from my BlackBerry Curve 8520 to my BlackBerry Z10 but I can't because BlackBerry Link doesn't work for the BlackBerry Curve. Instead, I have to run BlackBerry desktop software but I can't make the connection between the 2 phones using 2 softwares.

I made an extra backup on a USB device and now I can't get it back because "the device uses too much power". Why didn't it a few weeks ago and how can I use the device anyway?

USB is cranky, you're not the first (probably not the last) to have this happen.

Nightmare after 10.2.1.573 update (device 'coma', factory reset, cannot restore via blackberry link) (on Etisalat)

3 days ago, I updated my Q10 as prompted to the newest software (I'm in the UAE and use etisalat)
Following the update, I rebooted the phone and was faced with the dreaded blackberry 'coma' - where it reboots but then hangs at 99% or 100%
Reading some advice, I let it sit for 2 days at 100% to see if it would eventually resolved - it didn't. Battery pulls and resets etc also ineffective
I plugged it into my computer and was able to back it up via the blackberry link software. I then did a factory reset and installed the latest software (10.2.1.573, my OS version is 10.2.1.1925
The phone now boots up fine and syncs with BBerry link - but it will not restore the device. The error message I get is "restore did not complete. There could have been a problem with the device or connection during the restore. Verify that the device is turned on or connected" Rebooting the computer, reinstalling link etc, does not work, neither does only reloading part of the data.
Can anybody help, I am desperate, and currently have no way to restore and of my media or contacts!! (my plan with etisalat does not suppost blackberry protect so I don't have that) Is it true that this is a known problem with blackberry link?
I've heard of people having issues when then they use new leaked updates and then have to downgrade, because BlackBerry Link will not let you restore a backup from an OS that was made on a higher OS version. However this is not the case here - the backup file was made BEFORE the upgrade so will the the same or lower version of OS

I have the same exact problem with my Q5 I went to many phone shops but no luck ,im trying things my self I any thing worked I will let you know and please if you have a solution share it with us . I know how does it feel.

Blackberry Link uses a lot of memory

I am using Blackberry Link 1.1.1.41 on Windows 7 x64 (with a Q10). BlackBerryLink.exe *32 is using 294Mb of memory! That's more than any other process except Internet Explorer with loads of windows open.
The previous version was the same, and I was hoping the upgade wold deal with this issue.
I have also had to configure it NOT to launch at startup, as it stops everything else booting, so I cannot use any application until Link has finished whatever it is doing.
Has anyone else seen this?
Are RIM support aware?

As an update, I just started BB Link, which climbed rapidly from an initial 35Mb to 217Mb. Which is similar to the amount I started this post with.
I am using Wireless to sync with my laptop.
So, as you say Alan, it may be related to how much you are allowing it to share with the smartphone device - even though you have not asked for a synch update.
I have just been invited to update from 1.1.1.41 to 1.2.1.31 which has a totally new look and feel. The memory use is now 145Mb (without changing any file settings, unless the install changed anything).

Can't see device photos in Blackberry Link

I have tried several times to copy photos from my Z30 to my PC using blackberry link, but the photos don't display in Link. When I click the pictures icon, it says that there are no pictures in my picture library, which is not the case. I was able to complete a device backup using Link, so that feature of the software appears to be working. However, would like to be able to tranfer device photos to my PC. Any thoughts on what to do? Thanks.

Without using Link, connect yourZ30 to the PC.
On your PC, click on My Computer.
Do you see the two (device memory "flash" drive and the SD card as connected drives to your PC?

Error Reloading BlackBerry Z10 OS using BB Link

Hello There,
I saw my Blackberry Z10 in the boot screen today morning. I think it might have restarted it after an auto update which I am not sure about. It was in the boot screen nearly fro an hour and it never booted. I tried all possible ways of resetting processes using the latest updated blackberry link. When I select the reload device software option from preference, It tells me that I have to install an update of Blackberry Desktop Software. It starts downloading the desktop software.c After some time it gives a message that There was an error downloading th software update and to try after sometimes. I tried 5 times with an interval of half an hour in between. It is not working. Please help me in resetting my mobile....

Help, I am facing this this exact scenario, Z10 stuck on 100% boot screen, can't reload using blackberry link, says I need to update and then says error in update.
Anyone found a solution?

Blackberry Link neither works nor installs new version since mandatory device upgrade

I am not able to use Blackberry Link to connect my Z10 to a windows pc. I tried installing new drivers from my device and from the website, and these will not install. I receive error code 2147023636. I have spent over an hour just trying to find a way to ask a question of your support team. I need to be able to use the link to backup. I need this to be resolved quickly.

Leap connecting to BlackBerry Link on Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit

Connecting with USB cable, you are prompted, initially to install drivers. This initiates the installation of the Device Manager, BlackBerry Link and BlackBerry Blend. After installing/un-installing/re-installing the software several times, checking a raft of knowledgebase articles, I still cannot get Link to recognize an attached device over USB. If I look at the device manager, I have the BlackBerry (USB Serial Bus Controllers) and Black Berry Virtual Private Network (Network Adapters) and have attempted updating the drivers for these. During software uninstallations, I have also purged directories and registry entries. I am running ESET A/V and have disabled A/V and Firewall during software installs. I have tried connecting with the Leap in various states (Airplane Mode, with WiFi on, With WiFi/Mobile Network on). In every case, the device asks to Install Drivers, etc. and is not visible in the BlackBerry Device Manager.

How to find a lost BlackBerry 10 smartphone using BlackBerry Protect

It’s a scenario no one wants to encounter but here’s a quick overview how you can help locate your BlackBerry 10 smartphone using BlackBerry Protect if you can’t find it.
Tip: Using a BlackBerry OS device? Check out this post for help locating your device using BlackBerry Protect.
Step 1 – Enable BlackBerry Protect and turn on Location Services
To locate your smartphone you must enable BlackBerry Protect and turn on Location Services.
After you turn on Location Services, your smartphone only sends its location information when you request it through the BlackBerry Protect website, or when your battery power is low.
Swipe down from the top of the screen
Tap  Settings > BlackBerry Protect
Set the BlackBerry Protect switch to On
Tap Location Services
Set the Location Services switch to On
Tap  Back to save your change
Step 2 – Log in to the BlackBerry Protect website
After you enable BlackBerry Protect and turn on Location Services, complete the following steps to view the location of your smartphone on a map.
Log in to the BlackBerry Protect website located at http://protect.blackberry.com
Click View Location
BlackBerry Protect will attempt to locate your smartphone
If your smartphone can be located, a map appears similar to the following showing the approximate location:
If you still can’t find your smartphone at the reported location, use the Play Sound option within the BlackBerry Protect website. This option makes your smartphone ring loudly for one minute as well as activating the Loud profile.

To locate your device it must be turned on and connected to the wireless network.
Because BlackBerry Protect also uses GPS, you may not locate your smartphone if it is inside a building, underground, or otherwise blocked from receiving a satellite signal.

Can anyone help me to sort out the software updates for my Z10 using blackberry link installed in my laptop with windows 8?
I cannot see the 'install updates' link ......!!

With your Z10 connected to the PC, and running Link, do you see the Z10 connected in the bottom of the window (it should show as a tab at the bottom of the Link window)?
If so, then at the upper right, click on the gear icon for Settings. You should see the RELOAD OS functions in the screen now.

Unable to sync contacts and calendar from Q10 using BB Link

I am using Blackberry Link version 1.2.2.13 and each time I try to synchronize my Blackberry Q10 to my Laptop (Windows XP OS), I receive the message "Sync was unsuccessful- Unable to process organizer data." I have reset the settings, removed the device, reset the sync relationships as well as reinstalling the software, but nothing had resolved my issue. I have been a loyal Blackberry consumer for the last 6-7 years and would hate to have to switch to another brand because of something like this.
I am also noticing that while I may be receiving that message, The information of contacts are being shuffled around among other contacts. I have reset the handset to factory default, but the problem continues.

This is exactly what I am dealing with. Blackberry Link will work great for awhile and then something happens and I can not sync my contacts. I have spent many hours and days trying to fix this to no avail. BB support has been great but I still go through a long process each time. This week I finally gave up and started using the Microsoft Hotmail Outlook Connector since my company does not offer Active Sync or Exchange. It works flawlessly. I would dedfinitely check it out. If you swith to a Widows Phone or Android this is one of the options they recommend you use.
In a nutshell Link is awful and BB should be ashamed of the product they put on the market. I will only use it for syncing pictures and documents. Good luck!

Z30 issues with Blackberry Link

I recently upgraded from a Z10 to a Z30.
Issue #1
When I transferred all info from the Z10 to the Z30 using Blackberry Link it changed the name of the new Z30 from the name that it came with to a name of my Z10. Is this normal? Can I change it back to the name it had originally without confusing Blackberry Link? Does it even matter?
Issue #2
When I connected my Z10 to my computer and opened Blackberry Link there was a dropdown menu along the botton of the frame and one of the choices was "back up". Now with the Z30 that dropdown menu menu box is not there but along the left side that says that my Z30 is connected and one of the menu choices is "backup and restore". Is this the same thing?

My Z10 died after restoring from BlackBerry-Link

Z10 died after restoring thru BlackBerryLink on desktop How do I bring back life to my z10 which died totally when I've reset successfully using BlackBerry-Link; which completely died after reset (just mentioning it as successful operation because I do remember the bblink saying my z10 was completed restoring) ... But just afterwards as I disconnect from the computer it came nothing frown emoticon No nothing now as if there is no battery at all; And I think it's not because of depleted battery, if so then at-least it would have given as of the the cross-sign on display as of I used to have on my earlier versions of old blackberry !!! At first it came www.bberror.com/bb10-0015and when I install bblink on my computer and restored it thru bblink and updated only now I remember is I saw green solid light on my z10. Do you know how much guts I need to go inside my house specially my room where exactly downstairs to my room got cracked due to the massive earthquake here in Nepal !!! And now I'm completely **bleep** up and got isolated ... How on the earth I say I'm proud to be BlackBerry user ... I tried to look for genuine service centre here in Kathmandu but can't find a single and I think how on earth I just give it to repair to the maintainance here they lack zero knowledge of English language and only are after androids and iOS !!! PLEASE HELP ME BRINGING BACK LIFE TO MY Z10 WHICH IS IN COMMA and doesn't prefer to blink the led and light the display ; not anything it does !!!
