Cannot burn using itunes purchase

My grandaughter purchased several iTune songs. When we tried to burn them on an external burner we got the message that, " Only Apple applications such as iTunes, are permitted to burn purchase content" which we did purchase.
Help would be appreciated

iTunes only sell protected tracks, but you can still burn these to an Audio CD with iTunes.
1. Make a playlist of the track you want on a CD.
2. Click on the Playlist, then click on 'Burn CD' in the lower right hand corner of iTunes.
3. Insert a blank CD
4. Done

  • Using iTunes' purchased songs on DVD?

    New Mac user here.
I read something recently that concerned me about DRM limitations on iTunes music. I make a lot of videos and slide shows. I will purchase a specific tune from iTunes just to use it in a slideshow. Can I use iTunes purchased music in a slideshow and export it to burn to a DVD?

My concern was unfounded. I misread a FAQ at the Fotomagico website. My concern would be valid only for "third-party" applications, according to the website below. Phew!
Here is the text from the FAQs pages at the Fotomagico site:
"How can I use songs purchased on the iTunes Music Store?
FotoMagico cannot include audio from songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store in an export movie, as Apple prohibits third party applications to access the sound data. We do sincerely hope that Apple eventually changes its DRM policies. You can use the songs when presenting the slideshow live in FotoMagico."

  • Using itunes purchased songs on Music enabled Samsung phone

I purchased a few songs via my iTunes account and downloaded the songs to my Windows PC. My goal was to put the songs on my Sprint (Samsung) music enabled phone. When I copy the songs to my the memory card for my phone and insert the card into my phone the songs I purchased via the ITunes Music Store do not appear to show up as songs available to play on my phone. Is the transfer not allowed and the songs are locked in some manner?

Is the transfer not allowed and the songs are locked in some manner?
Yes. Protected AAC files cannot be used on a cellphone other than an iPhone and a handful of Motorola models, and other AAC files may need to be converted to MP3 for use. All song purchases from the iTunes Store other than iTunes Plus content come as protected AAC.

I'm trying to use a song I purchased on itunes as music for the menu of an iDVD project I'm working on, but all I get is the following message: This computer is not authorized to play "01 Americal Girl.m4p".
I was able to do this just fine until yesterday when I had to update itunes for my new ipod nano. Now I can't use ANY itunes purchased songs in iDVD or imovie.
    Please help me solve this!!

    hi Eric:
Burn the song to an audio CD and try importing from that.

  • Cannot burn using certain blanks

    Hi,
I realize that this is probably a burner issue, but any help in the right direction would be appreciated. I'm using a Lightscribe DVD/CD writer and I cannot use any other blank discs other than Jujifilm. If I use TDKs or Sonys, the burn aborts at various times in the process and this occurs with multiple burn programs (iTunes, Nero).
The easy fix is to only buy Fujifilms, but I have a new spindle of Sonys that are rapidly becoming coasters. Any help in figuring this probably out will save me booting the PC out the window. Thanks to all.
I ran a diagnostic and found this (sorry for the length):

  • Cannot download previous iTunes purchases

I have purchased 172 songs, which I can see on the iTunes Purchased list.  However, iTunes on my PC only shows 73 songs have been downloaded.  I have tried to re-download these via iCloud, but when trying to do so it is showing the songs have already been downloaded.  Looking at my old iPod most of the 'older' purchases are stored on the device.  The iPod will not sync with iTunes on my PC.  When connecting the iPod I am informed the iPod is synched with a different library.  My iPad also has different purchased items.  I had to reinstall Windows 7 on my machine, which would appear to be the cause of the problem.

  • How can I use iTunes purchased music on non PC devices?

I have an audio component that is a music server that is connected to my home audio system. The hard drive based music server has a front disc tray that you can use to rip CDs to its hard drive, but you can also copy music to it from a PC, as the server is connected to my home network.
How can I get music that I purchase in iTunes onto this server? The server only accepts MP3s, and is not compatable with ACC. And its a music server, not a true PC, so dont see anyway how I could "authorize" it.
Is there any way to get the ACC into MP3 format? Or if I burn the purchased music to CD, and then rip the CD back to a PC or the server itself, does it come back out as ACC again or MP3?
If anybody can be of any help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks
      Windows XP

Burn the tracks out to an audio CD (make sure it's set to burn an audio CD, not a data CD, in the iTunes preferences). That CD can then be reimported as MP3.

  • IPhoto Slideshow using iTunes purchased music publish to .Mac

I created a slideshow which used a song which I purchased through the music store. I exported this and uploaded it to .mac. If I view this web page on a another computer beside my mac it wants it to be authorized.
I thought when I purchase music I could use it in iPhoto and iMovie. Why is it forcing me to authorize all computers.
How am I suppose to share this slideshow/movie with my friends and family. I am all for DRM when it comes to protecting music but now I can not use the song except on my mac or computers I authorize (Which is limited to 5). I think this is a bit unfair.

    Hi Squig,
It's a shame isn't it. You need to do a little sneaky work around by first burning the tune to cd (while you are at it, burn a bunch of others that you might want to use in a slideshow. Import the burned cd back into iTunes. Click on date added column so you can see the DRM-less tunes you just imported. Rename those tunes so you know those are the ones without the DRM and then use those tunes in your slideshows.
by the way, you can use them in iMovie if you are then sending those iMovies to burn within iDVD. You will run into the problem if you export the iMovie to quicktime.

  • I cannot burn form itunes

I have tried everything from the web page. I then sent a email into support that took the 72 hours for response and was directed to the the same fixes that I had already tried from the web page. the error i'm getting is the attempt to burn disc failed, an unkhown error occured 4201. The burn fails during the first song. All of these songs have been purchased. I was able to make a audio CD one time with my setup. and then waited until I had downloaded enough music for a complete cd and haven't been able to burn since first time. I have made a CD from windows media player using my set up. I'm using a external CD re-writer iomega zip 650. I have also tried many diferent types of discs and tried the unplugging of ipod and re-writer to avoid confusion between the two.

  • Cannot burn from itune to cd

Burned playlist title shows up on left menu with a cd icon but playback results in sound coming in and out, like bad signal on radio station, also verrry slow then freezes, reinserted cd, got 'blank cd' message and cd icon showing cd title does not appear. Tried playing cd in car, got 'err' message and eject. This is new problem, as I have routinely burned purchased/non-purchased playlists using cdrw's. Successfully downloaded itunes version 6, deleted play list, recreated it, still same problem. Afraid to plug in ipod, don't want to corrupt if problem is with cpu.

They are protected, there are copyright issues, you can burn a copy to save in case something happens to your computer, but you can not burn a DVD to say play on your tv, or even a cd copy to play on your tv. To back them up, go under backup under file and it will ask you if you want to back up your purchased movies, songs, tv, etc. I also would love to burn them and play them to my tv, but a get around is to use the apple cables and then play them from your ipod video.

  • I can Only Burn using iTunes !

    Greetings
I've been having this weird problem on my MacBook Pro 15.4
when i try to burn anything (( Data CD for example )) I always get an error message in the middle of the burning process then the burning stops
While i can burn Music CDs from iTunes without any problem using any speed on any medium.
I've tried Toast and disk utilities and both failed
    Any solution ?!

Yes I have done that and the recording TAB is there. I have even been into the registry and checked that the drive is setup to write the right format discs, which it is.
Don't believe there are any virtual CD burners there. It does start the process of writing the discs when creating from explorer, it just says there is no disc in the burner (it does even try to spin the disc). From media player it just says there is no burner at all. Yet Itunes is fine.
Having read other forums, I think it's the drive itself.
