Cannot Business Component for Jdev9040

I cannot fined Cannot Business Component for Jdev9040 as it was present in jdev9010.?
When i install bibeans9032 into the jdevhome (jdev9040) it gives message that jdevloper903 or higher should be installed... Although i have instaled jdev9040???
Is any variable or any thing else is to be done or set after copying jdev9040 files to jdev home ?
Can any expert help me.. Thanks in advance

Business Component Problem.....

Hi,
i have created business component for my Java Application. It contains two set of Application module, Entity Object, View Object, Association for my two tables. if i modified any column type(ex. Date -> Number) in my database it is not reflecting in my Entity or View objects. it is showing my old column type(ex. Date)
i don't understand this. do i need to create this whole business object again. can you give me some suggestions regarding this problem.

You can change the attribute's type and the database column type in the Attribute Settings tab of the Entity Object Wizard.
You can also delete the attribute from your entity object, then add it again and it will show the new database settings. Edit the EO, select the attribute and click Remove. Then click New From Table, and select the new column.

Ok, so after like 4 days of going through all these different issues, I figured out that several programs weren't downloading, and it was an issue with my wireless connectivity messing up the digital signatures, so if you plug in your comp to the modem and delete your temp files, it should start to work!

Field 'Contract Period' does not exist in definition for business component

Hi everyone
I create a Field "Contract Period" in BC "Quote" with an extended table and put it in the applet view "Quote Full Form Applet" the field works fine in the view, we can update and insert information in it and shows perfect in the database also.
Our problem is when create a Integration Object for reports in BIP Reports the system said something like this when we try to generate the sample data:

"Field 'Contract Period' does not exist in definition for business component 'Quote'.
We compiled the BC and the IC, and did the Deployment of the IC in Tools but it didn't work, the thing here is if I remove this field the report works fine. Is there any other component or Object that we have to compile to get Siebel recognition?
Any ideas?

Deployment profile for a business component deployed to 9ias?

I am trying to build a deployment profile so I can deploy my business component to an oc4j instance on my remote 9iAS machine.
In jdeveloper version 9.0.3, the "Business Component Deployment Wizard for EJB session bean" prompts for a both a "Deploy to Connection" and a "Server Connection".
I am specifying a connection to a "9i Application Server - Remote DCM" for the <deploy to connection> prompt. Per the documentation and the wizard .. you must then specify a server connection.
I don't understand the server connection piece ... The <new button> for the "server connction" only lets me build a connection a standalone OC4J. I am trying to deploy to a 9ias oc4j instance on a remote machine. I am suppose to somehow specify a connection to the remote 9ias oc4j instance as if it were a standalone instance? How do I build and specify this connection?

My jdevloper help system describes how to deploy to 9ias, and I have not yet spotted anything in the fine print that nullifies this.
The release notes that came with Jdeveloper version 9.0.3.10.35 show a compatibility matrix for deployments to 9ias version 9.0.3 ... my scenario is listed as supported. They note that deployment to 9ias 9.0.2 of bc4j is not suported, and J2EE/WebServices deployment has DCM issues.
FYI ... I have a TAR openned on this subject, and Metalink support personnel seems to be pretty close to declaring this a bug (internal bug#2597292 and internal bug#2495251). Specifically these bugs relate to JBO component versions 9.0.3.9.51 and 9.0.3.10.12 in reagrds to DCM connections to 9ias. If this is the case then it looks like 9iAS deployment is not supported.

Cannot download the business package for ESS or MSS

I'm trying to download the 'Business Package for Employee Self-Service
(mySAP ERP) via

where I get an IE message "The page cannot be found".
Any idea why?
How can I download this business package ?
I also get the same problem when I try to download any other version of
ESS or any version of MSS.

Business component browsing may be unavaliable

Hey there guys,
Learning the basics of ADF here. Tried running my application module so I could take a look at my VOs and no data was showing up... I'm seeing "Business Object Browsing may be unavailable" and am struggling to figure out why... my google-fu is weak.
Possible compatibility issue? I'm running WLS 10.3.5, Oracle XE 11g release 2, jDev 11.1.1.6.0.

Unfortunately I have run my app module as you've said, but that's where I became concerned. The Business Component Browser pops up at that point which correctly displays all of the EOs and VOs on the lefthand side but as I look through them none of my data is being queried. The textboxes for my colums are blank and greyed out as I look through the objects, I cannot browse my data with the left/right arrows. This is why I started looking for suspect exceptions/warnings.

Business Component- EO Vs VO on the UI.

I am new to ADF and the business Components provided by the framework. I have a question on the Usage of the business components/ bindings on the UI.
Consider, a create page, the UI components on the page use a View Object to bind the fields. Can we not achieve that by binding an Entity Object directly to a UI component? If yes, please give us an example.
My understanding is as the transaction management is taken care by Application module and the view objects (rather than entity objects) are associated to an Application module the flow is AM->VO->EO and hence we cannot bind an Entity Object to a UI component. Please correct me if this is a wrong assumption. This assumption leaves me with another open question what if i don't want any transaction management, in that case it becomes very logical to bind an Entity Object to a UI Component.

Application Module
An application module is a service component that UI or Web Service clients use to work with application data. It defines an updatable data model and top-level procedures and functions (called service methods) for a logical unit of work related to an end-user task. To simplify the task of implementing your services, you leverage a set of business components like entity objects and view objects.
You can enable a service interface on any Application Module. The service interface expose Application Modules as remotable services allowing third-party applications to find, create, update and delete business information using standard web services protocols. All of the business validation rules encapsulated in your Entity Objects are automatically enforced through this service interface as well.
You can use any application module both as a local component and as remotely-accessible service. This allows you to support both interactive Web user interfaces as well as programmatic Web-service clients with the same component.
Entity object
An entity object represents a row in a database table and simplifies modifying its data by handling all DML operations for you. It can encapsulate business logic for the row to ensure your business rules are consistently enforced. You associate an entity object with others to reflect relationships in the underlying tables to create a layer of business domain objects to reuse in multiple applications.
View object
A view object represents a SQL query and simplifies working with its results. You declaratively join, project, filter, sort, and aggregate entity object data into exactly the "shape" required by the end-user task at hand, including the ability to link a view object with others to create master/detail hierarchies of any complexity. When users modify business data using a view object, that component automatically collaborates with entity objects to consistently validate and save the changes.

Hi,
The syntax of the created SDA may be wrong
Check the main attributes defined in SAP_MANIFEST.MF are equal or not to their corresponding componentelement entry.
SAP_MANIFEST.MF file is located in META-INF subfolder in the .sda file.
The values of "keycounter" and "counter" should be the same. Also the values of "keyname" and "name" should be identical.

Deploy Business Component Project with 3.2

I use the JDeveloper 3.2 to create a simple Buciness Component Project, with an application module, which contains only a table object(entity & view object). I follow the step of deplyment in the
on-line help to deploy the project as an EJB session Bean for 8i, (set the application Module's remote mode to "EJB Session Bean", create the deployment profile, than deploy it.) However, I got a lot of error message with the following err-code. Where am I wrong? Please help me. Thank You...

Why business component does not support generics method parameter

I have created a business component and in this business component I have added a public method which takes a parameter - List of map (Like List<Map<String, String>> inputListOfMap). Now when I try to run the artifacts for this business component it gives an error

After checking the spl-tool2.2.0 jar class JavaSourceFile.java i am guessing that such method parameters are not supported. It compiles well if its a simple Map or List. Also works fine if I make the method as private. But in this case I cannot use this method from any other class... which I don't want.

Hi Victor,
the issue is that the archive pool in your NWDS is not set up properly. Could you check the configuration of the development configuration? I guess you are developing in Local Development, right? Please check in the "Component Browser" that the two Software Components "NWMCLIENT" and "XOCA" are present and contain some DCs inside them. If this is not true, than something went wrong with your setup of the IDE. The modifications of the default.confdef are most likely not right.
Please come back to me if you don´t know how to proceed.
