Cannot buy applecare+ for iphone

i ONLY found out about applecare+ for iphone through a friend. i tried to buy it online, but it said i need to make a genius appointment. so i made the appointment. when i went in they said i was past 30 days since i bought the phone so i had to call applecare.
i called applecare, after 4 hours on the phone i got escalated all the way to a senior admin applecare agreement admin who would not help me purchase the applecare+.
i'm at a loss for what to do. nowhere in the terms and services does it say you have to buy within 30 days of purchase. they added it to the website after the fact. anyway, i made the appointment when i was within my 30 days.
Here is proof their terms and conditions do NOT specify a day limit for purchase except within the first 2 years of purchase:
http://www.apple.com/legal/applecare/applecareplusforiphone.html
please help!

the apple website is not the official terms and agreement, legally. what i linked to is the legal terms and agreement. nowhere there does it say there is any kind of limit on when you can purchase it.
if it is ONLY listed on their website, then technically they would have to require each apple store employee to take you to that site when you buy the phone.
as i've said, the APPLE employee that sold me the phone did not tell me there was a 30 day limit on my warranty purchase availability, nor did ANY of the follow-up emails from Apple congratulating me on my ******** purchase of this crappy phone.
it is misdirection and false advertising and misrepresenting the product.
the 30 day is an artifice created by Apple. This was verified to me by Eric and Lonnie and Frank and Valisha all from Apple support.
I'm trying to ascertain if other apple users have had this same problem with Apple violating their contract with users.
see the link I posted above. there is no reference to a 30 day limit.

  • AppleCare for iPhone 3G / Advance replacement service UK

Having had a good look around the UK online store, it seems as though the Applecare for iPhone is currently unavailable or has been deleted. Is anyone aware of what has become of it, whether it might return or will an alternative me made available otherwise?
Having made use of Apple's own support with respect to macs I've owned in the past, I'm keener to purchase Apple's own hardware/software support than that of a third party insurer.

Thanks for the reply. I've just checked with the UK online sales people; Yes, Applecare for iPhone is currently withdrawn. The phone itself has a 1 year hardware warranty from Apple, and tech support is available for the duration of the airtime contract (18 months in most cases with O2 UK).
With luck the AC for iPhone will return at some point as you suggest.

  • Cannot sync application and applecare for iphone 3G

I had many sad problem with my handphone since bought in Sept 2008. Trying to resolve the problem at Chadstone Melbourne in Dec 2008, but they only mentioned that it was the application that was a problem. Apparently I lived in overseas and bought the iphone3G outright at Optus.
I have problem with syncing application that are more than 50Mb. Any update of an application that are more than 50 MB, during syncing it will switched/restarted the iphone for many times until I decided to delete the apps. What should I do?
I also had try to find out if there are any extended warranty to iphone in Australia, it seemed that there were none. Could anyone help? My reason was to maintain guarantee toward my Dec 2009 returning to Melb to service this phone.
    Any suggestion and help welcome.
    Thx

    Welcome to the discussions,
Did you try to reset your phone by holding the sleep and home button until you see the Apple logo?
Do you use wifi to update apps with more than 50MB?
I also had try to find out if there are any extended warranty to iphone in Australia, it seemed that there were none.
After AppleCare for the iphone was introduced in the US it took some time until I could buy it in my Apple Store, so maybe you'll have to wait a little longer or call Apple Store Australia and ask if they know about that program.

  • How to buy AppleCare+ for iPhone6 purchased from Verizon?

What the title says. Anyone know? Apple's web site is a waste of time.

    John Avelis wrote:
Yes, those are both options. The web site will only allow the purchase of AppleCare+ if one is purchasing the product on the Apple Store. There is no reference to purchasing AppleCare+ elsewhere. Res ipse loquitur.
PS- being faced with a 100 mile drive to an Apple Store, that's hardly a live option....
PPS- Found out that a local independent reseller (Apple Specialist, Inc.) sells the AppleCare+. So I guess we're going there. Or maybe call the number. This is all WAY more complicated than all the other times we've done this. I don't AppleCare for it .
PPS- (to Meg St._Clair) Verizon only sells Verizon's Extended Warranties, and these are not nearly as good a deal as AppleCare+.
Um, yes, there is a reference on how else to buy AppleCare+.  It says so on the AppleCare+ page: [https://www.apple.com/support/products/iphone.html]. Read that page again and look towards the bottom of the page:
    Important notes
Purchase AppleCare+ with your new iPhone. Or buy it within 60 days of your iPhone purchase:
At an Apple Retail Store (inspection of iPhone and proof of purchase are required)
OR call (800) 275-2273 (requires you to run a remote diagnostic and provide proof of purchase)
See AppleCare+ Terms and Conditions for complete product details.
    1. Go to an Apple Store.
    2. Call Apple Support at the number provided.  How is making a phone call complicated?  You call the number, they ask for the device serial number, they perform a remote diagnostic that takes maybe 1-2 minutes, if that, and then you pay for it by credit card, either over the phone or they email you a weblink.  The entire process shouldn't really take more than 10-15 minutes.
And Verizon does actually sell AppleCare+.  If they say that they don't at the store, then ask for a manager, because the official wireless carriers that sell iPhones (and even the retail stores) are required to either process such a sale and register it with Apple, or at a bare minimum, explain to you that it is available at an Apple store or by calling Apple.  Just because the person you spoke to at Verizon was ignorant doesn't mean that they aren't supposed to offer it.

  • I cannot buy stuff for my game - Game of War.

I have an Iphone which I downloaded Game of War.  I have bought stuff before with this game, however, I cannot buy anything now.  My phone was bought in the US and has a US #.  However, I live in Canada.  How do I buy things for this game while in Canada?

If you are getting a message to contact iTunes Support then you can do so via this link and ask them for help (we are mainly fellow users, we won't know why you are getting the message) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Can I Buy Applecare for Used iBook?

I am thinking of buying a used iBook that was first released about 6 months ago. Does anyone know if I can purchase Applecare for this iBook, that I am not the original owner of? Thanks for any insight.

I would of assumed so, but I have a nagging doubt that someone posted (ages ago) that this was not possible.
I would suggest that you contact Apple directly so that you will know for sure.
You can search for the terms and conditions of AppleCare, it talks about Transferring the plan. Being from Sydney I've linked to the Asia Pacific version (this maybe useless for you though - not sure where you're from).

  • Question about buying Applecare for iPod online

When I purchased my iMac I purchased Applecare from my dealer, getting the little red box to bring home, and later I registered the Applecare online successfully.
Now I wish to purchase Applecare for a 5G iPod that is nearing it's 1 year anniversary. Because of timing I thought I would go to the online Apple store and purchase it that way. Proceeding through the steps, however, it looks like I can just order it online and have the little red box shipped to my home (for later online registration.) That worries me in case the package doesn't arrive in time to meet the requirement to do this within the first year.
Is there no way to purchase online, pay with credit card, and be sent to the online registration area immediately, without waiting for the little red box? (My dealer is out of Applecare boxes at the moment.)
20" Intel Core Duo iMAC   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Thanks again, Chuck
I am still having trouble with this. First, I am in Canada so go to the equivalent Canadian Apple web site and it is laid out slightly differently.
So I followed your steps to see how the US site differed and didn't see a "sale" graphic but instead a "save" graphic. (I assumed that's the one you meant) so I followed that path and indeed did find the Applecare for iPod link. I started to go through the steps there, but as far as I was going it looked exactly like what happens on my Canadian site where it ends up asking me for the shipping address and my Visa number and I get to chance to register directly.
But the local dealer that I use, has some coming in this week and will hold one for me, which should be in time. If something happens to delay that shipment there are other dealers in town I can try as well.

  • Buying applecare for Macbook Pro 15

It's time for me to take care of my Macbook Pro 15" Retina (Late 2013) and buy an apple care plan.
MY question is will the MC259ZM/A product number of Applecare work for my notebook?
A friend of mine has it and is willing to give it to me for free :-). Found it in his old Macbook Pro BOX never used it so its mine.

    adtshd,
if your friend’s MC259ZM/A AppleCare Protection Plan hasn’t been registered to any MacBook Pro, then it could be registered to yours. (Just because he hasn’t ever opened its box doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s never been registered.)

  • Cannot place preorder for iPhone 4

My girlfriend and I are current t-mobile users trying to preorder iPhone 4 from Apple's site. We selected "Create a new account for two or more iPhones on an individual or FamilyTalk Plan", filled out all the required info including current t-mobile #, account #, ss# etc, and clicked the "check eligibility" button, but from that point we cannot continue the order. We're taken to a new screen where it gives us a store locator, but no option to order the phones or account. There is no error or failure message of any kind so it's not clear where the problem is occurring. Additionally, we're hesitant to continue repeating this process because we're afraid that it might be performing a credit check every single time. Can someone please explain what the problem might be or a better way to process this type of order? Thanks
    Message was edited by: leetleo

Pre-orders are sold out. Both Apple & AT&T are still trying to sort through all of their respective orders, many done by hand at AT&T stores. Best to just go to an Apple or AT&T store. Since you're porting numbers, an AT&T store would be your best bet.

  • Whether it is recommended to buy case for iphone

I was wondering whether the iphone develops a lot of scratches over time. Is it advisable to buy a case for it. If yes, which one is the best one to buy.

    loki357 wrote:
a case is not needed, unless you want a belt clip, or really just want to make your phone more bulky, but the screen protecting films i highly recommend, its cheap, 15 bucks for two films. it protects from little nicks and scratches on the screen, which its durable, but still prone to slowly accumulating small and annoying nicks, that over time will build up and be very obnoxious.
I believe that a case also protects your iPhone from other than scratches or 'little" nicks as you have suggested. Whether you use the 'film', or a 'skin' or a 'belt' case, it does help prevent other catastrophic situations by providing additional padding if you put it in your pocket, drop it, etc.
The idea of saying "unless" you want to "make your iPhone more bulky" is somewhat flippant, i.e., no one wants more bulk but if it prevents the possible destruction of the iPhone you make a choice - just like the FRAM guy on TV.

  • Buying cases for iPhone 4?

    Hey everyone,
Was just wondering about the new iPhone 4 issues with the signal cutting out when you touch the black strip on the side.
I know they've just released that they will be giving all iPhone 4 owners a free case to fix this problem, but I wanted to know if you have to use the case they give you or if you can buy a different one?
Example being I always wanted to buy a fancy rhinestone cover for my phone, but they are made of plastic not rubber, so will using one of those still fix the signal issue or does it have to be rubber like the one they are giving out?
Any help or suggestions would be great

why put a case on that beautiful iphone 4. the beauty of it is the metal band along with the squared body which was the best design ever. show it off because when you slap a case on, it resembles any other iphone. i tried this new clear wrap. it covers the sides along with a back so you don't scratch the camera lens and it shields the antenna points. my bars don't drop. and they gave me another one for free. 20 bucks total. it gives you a grippy feel because the iphone 4 is very slippery.
