    Hi Stephanie,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're going to have to put the iPad in to recovery mode before you can restore it. The article linked below provides more details about the passcode lock and will walk you through putting the process of restoring from recovery mode.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
    Use recovery mode
Follow these steps if you never synced your device with iTunes, if you don't have Find My iPhone set up, or if you can't get to your own computer. You'll need to put your device in recovery mode, which will erase the device and its passcode. Then you'll restore your device as new or from a backup.
Disconnect all cables from your device.
    Turn off your device.
Press and hold the Home button. While holding the Home button, connect your device to iTunes. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
Click OK, then restore the device.
    Cheers!

  • TS1424 I receive a prompt that my Itunes account has been disabled, but not for security reasons as suggested. Any ideas?

I keep receiving a prompt that my account has been disabled, but not for secruity reasons. I had problems almost half a year ago with unauthorized purchases. When I asked Apple about the purchases, instead of providing answers, they said they would disable the account. Not only is that awful customer service and not answering my question, it's a HUGE pain in the butt because I just want to download some music legally!!! Does anyone in Apple Universe have any suggestions before I rip the rest of my hair out?

Thanks,  I have tried changing the password 3 times to no avail.  I will contact itunes support
    thanks again

  • It keeps asking me to sign into icloud everytime i go into my music. it also says my account has been disabled but it hasnt, it keeps asking me to sign into icloud everytime i go into my music. it also says my account has been disabled but it hasnt

i always have to sign into icloud and they always say my account has been disabled so i cant download anything!

You might want to go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in.  For iCloud, try deleting the account and signing back in.  To do this, save your photo stream photos to your camera roll (unless already ther) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPhone and provide the password when prompted, then sign back in.  (Your iCloud data will reappear on your phone when you sign back in.)

  • I can't buy anything on my account because it has been "disable."

Well, my itunes account has been disabled for no reason.  The credit card on the account was hacked by another website and then I got a new card.  I was able to purchase from the card for a week from itunes and other websites as well, but now after swapping, the account is disabled.  I now cannot buy anything.

You might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
If you have an iPhone, iPad and/or iPod Touch you might then need to log out of your account on it by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6+) and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it
If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • My account has been "disabled" after my credit card expired.  I updated it to buy the additional i cloud storage but now it won't let me do anything!  help, please!

my credit card expired so my iCloud storage was deactivated.  I updated my credit card and now it not only wont let me purchase more storage, but says my account has been deactivated.  help, please!

    Hi mamamuddpie,
If your Apple ID account has been disabled, follow the steps below to reset your password and gain access.  There is a link in the article to the Apple ID Security team if you need help with this.
If your Apple ID has been locked - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204106
You might see one of these alerts:
“This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons”
"You can't sign in because your account was disabled for security reasons"
"This Apple ID has been locked for security reasons"
If your Apple ID was locked, you can go to iForgot to unlock it with your existing password or reset your password. You can also click the Reset Password or Forgot Password button in the alert. Remember to type your full email address when you're asked to enter your Apple ID. For example, [email protected] or [email protected]. If you use two-step verification for Apple ID, you need to use your recovery key and a trusted device to regain access to your account.
If you can't reset your password and you don't use two-step verification, contact Apple Support. Update your password in iCloud settings
After you change your password, you might need to update it in iCloud settings on your devices.
    iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    Go to Settings > iCloud.
    Tap Edit, if asked.
Type your new password and tap Done.
    Mac
Go to Apple menu > System Preferences.
    Click iCloud.
    Click Sign Out.
Type your new password and click Sign In.
    Windows
    Choose Start > Control Panel.
    Double-click iCloud.
    Click Sign Out.
Type your new password and click Sign In.
    Email
If you use an email app to get iCloud email, the app will ask you to enter your new password when you check for mail. If OS X Mail doesn't ask you for your password, check your Mail preferences. For any other mail app, check the app's documentation to get help changing your email password.Update other services, such as iTunes and FaceTime
If you use your Apple ID in the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, iMessage, Game Center, or FaceTime, you might need to update your password for those services.
    iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Go to Settings and tap the service.
Tap your Apple ID. For iMessage, tap Send & Receive and then tap your Apple ID.
    Tap Sign Out.
Sign in with your Apple ID and your new password.
    Mac or PC
If you try to sign in to the iTunes Store or Mac App Store, make a purchase, or update an app, you'll be asked to enter your password.

  • When I go to update my apps on itunes, it says my account has been disabled. I've done everything I know to do to no avail. I've changed passwords, I've done it all about a hundred times, but I can't get to the bottom of it...HELP Please :)

    Hi,
I am about to pull my hair out. My itunes account has been disabled............or at least that's what it says everytime I want to update my apps....I can't do it. Then it sends me to a useless web address www.apples.com/itunes/storesupport/forassistance it never helps me. I've changed my password, etc. But I can't get my apps updated or the "Apple" in the sky to fix it...I don't know where to go for customer service....Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Kathy

I updated the software on my iphone4 tonight and ran into this same endless loop - "itunes terms & conditions have been changed" - go to itunes, aceept - back to the "T&C have been changed message" with no ability to do anything in the app store until I accepted the new terms.
While not a very direct solution, I was able to finally accept the terms in a way that seem to register with apple by making a purchase through iTunes on my computer. This forced me through updating my payment information and updating my iTunes software to the latest edition (which I had not yet taken the time to do).  After doing both of these, iTunes took me through the terms & conditions on two separate pages, but ultimately allowed me to purchase my song.  Once I completed these steps, it fixed the problem on my phone, so now I can update my apps and download new ones without running into that loop.
    Hope this helps!!!

im trying to change my password for my apple id but its says that my account has been disabled for security reasons, how can i solve this problem?

Depending on why it's been disabled you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
Or you might need to contact Apple : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
If it then works on your computer's iTunes but not your phone/iPad then try logging out of your account on the phone/iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it

OK, well you could be infected with something since you are running a three year old OS. Your best bet would be to upgrade to at least OS X 10.7 Lion, but finding that will be a problem for you. I'm told you can order it from Apple at 1-800-MY-APPLE and ask for retail sales. Tell them you have a MacBook (13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008).
Again, without knowning what problems you are having, it's difficult to tell you what you need to do. The most recent problems have involved the Flashback Trojan which has caused crashes of Safari and other applications or redirection of your browser to ad sites. There's a tool here which should get rid of that, if you are infected.

  • HELP! iTunes account has been disabled? Can't find help

Tonight, I tried to buy a single track from the itunes store and I got this message:
"You cannot buy because your account has been disabled.
to continue using your account it must be enabled by the itunes store customer service. you can contact customer service at..."
I don't understand what's going on? I bought music this morning using an itunes card from target and now all of a sudden my entire account is disabled??? I have like $800 bucks in music I've purchased from the itunes store and I don't want to lose it! I sent an email to Apple's customer service address and I've yet to receive a reply.
Is this some sort of bug in the system??

    I too am having problems.
    1 - I can't listen to Purchased music
2 - when I synched the iPod None of the purchased music is working - including on the playlists
3 - I cannot find Customer Support info - in fact I think this is a disgrace - you waste time going around in circles - this is hidden info (more below)
4 - yesterday I sucessfully Bought some tracks (can you believe that!) but I can't listen to ANY of my other purchased stuff.
5 - I am being asked repeatedly to Authorise my computer - which I do and it says the computer IS authorised - then I get asked again for my details.
6 - contacted IM support 3 days ago (I have no idea how I did this) and tried fixing the problem live with a technician - no good. I cannot find this service since.
    Therefore - I can't get tech help.
I think Apple have big problems they need to sort out - and should have done so years ago. This is really appalling & it should be the case that people should be financially compensated for the hassle and difficulty caused. The excuse of conflicts with other software etc is Not tenable.
If there was a choice out there I'd be using it.

  • Mail account has been disabled, it's my primary ac...

    Hi all,
I carried out a vigorous search before posting!
    Issue:
I logged into our primary BT account (which was fine, no issues there; aware of outage today etc); upon clicking on the mail icon I was met with the below message:
Your Yahoo! Mail Account is no longer active.
Unfortunately, we cannot reactivate your account because:
Your Yahoo! Mail account has been disabled. Please contact user support.
Reasons why this may have happened:
It may have been as a result of not using/sending emails from the account within a given period of time. We hardly use the primary address email; it usually only receives BT offers and BT warnings about usage! The disablement is not as a result of hacking and I’m not aware we broke any yahoo mail rules as it’s barely used!
    Worries:
I’ve tried with no luck to raise this with yahoo and I’m beginning to feel a little disheartened at the lack of support from Yahoo and everything associated!
The email acts as our primary account, without it I won’t receive emails re: usage warnings, offers etc and if I need to verify something I won’t be able to!
I could create a sub account but it won’t receive the same emails as the primary account.
    More worries:
I’m also worried the email primary email will eventually disappear because after a period of time you can’t reactivate a yahoo mail account, and then I’ll be met with an even bigger problem...
Anyone had this issue or be able to provide support and/or advice? Just to clarify, no problem logging in, that's fine; can do everything else, we just can't access the yahoo mail account!
    Many thanks,
    Officeworker.
