Cannot change calendar name

Just upgraded to Lion. In iCal I try to change name of calendar. I type in new name but it reverts to old name. I try to create new calendar with the name I tried to change the old one to, but after I type in the name and press return the new calendar is named "untitled".

Quit iCal, and try removing the com.apple.iCal.plist file from your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Also go to the Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars Folder and remove any/all files with "Cache" as a part of the file name field.
To find the user Library, use Finder>Go>Depress the "Option" key>Library>Preferences. Drag the .plist file and Cache file(s) to your desktop, log out/in or restart and check iCal for any improvement.
If that does not work, are there any other clues about your setup that may be helpful?

HT2497 Airport is not recognizing my wireless network because my wireless network has the same name as another apartment in my builing. I cannot change the name because my room mate controls it, is there any way I can make it find my wireless network?

It used to be that the other apartment with the same name didn't have theirs password protected so even though only one or the other would show up, I could always get onto one. Now, they have password protected theirs and it seems to be that 100% of the time only theirs shows up which I only can tell because it says "invalid password" when I try to connect to the Internet.
I have asked my room mate to just change the name of the network but she is really slow to do anything about it and I need to be able to get the internet at home and the internet is in her and set up through her computer so I really don't have any way of being the one to just go in and fix it myself.
Is there any other way to make Airport recognize that there are two different networks with the same way so it will find mine? I feel like I have tried everything including mannually typing in the name of my network and typing my password and it still just says "invalid password." I have also double checked that I was typing in the correct password and I am. My room mate is not having any problems accessing the Internet so I know the problem is not with our connection (she also has a Mac, almost the same model as me, I have a MacBook Pro purchased in 2011). I am also able to connect to the Internet on my Mac at coffee shops and the library so I know that the problem is not my computer or my wireless connection so I'm pretty sure it is just that Airport is somehow only recognizing one of the two "WLAN" networks

Hi - you can do what you want to do with AirPlay from your iPhone - but unfortunately it is not as easy as the people in the Apple store told you - your first problem is that you have a non Apple router - you cannot extend a non Apple router wirelessly with the Express - you can only join the network and connect an ethernet device to it - you can however connect via ethernet and have it create a wireless network of its' own - you can set this up from your iPhone or the XP - but this is a complicated setup and would involve many different discussion areas of this forum - therefore I would suggest that you use your 90 days of support and consult directly with Apple to do this - go to this link - http://www.apple.com/support/contact/

Cannot change short name of computer in Workgroup Manager

When a computer is bound to Open Directory on the client side I cannot change the short name of the computer. If the computer is added through Workgroup Manager I do not have this problem. When I try to change the name it reverts back to the old name and sometimes adds a .local at the end of it, but the new name I choose is displayed on the left side. When I log out and log back in the name on the left side reverts back to the old name.
Could it be the way I am naming the computers? I am using dept-username.location as a way to name all computers. Why does this problem only occur on computers that have been bound through the LDAPv3 service on the workstation?

I can't comment for sure on this one; but my educated guess may be that you're causing problems with your DNS (or DHCP) by specifying an extra dot in the name - Although I can't say for certain as my OD doesn't run my DNS.
Try using dept-username-location.domain.local instead of dept-username.location.domain.local.
Have you checked the console output to see if any errors are being returned?

HELP! Suddenly cannot change file names..

Last night after a brief power cut I found, inevitably, I had lost a photoshop image I hadn't saved, but everything else seemed OK. To be sure I checked Disk Utility. The HD was OK but some odd issues appeared in permissions which I told to repair. This then said all OK.
Whether my present problem is related to the power cut or repairing permissions I don't know, but -
Now I cannot change file titles. If I click on an icon title to bring up the normally re-typeable title pane, and try, nothing happens. I'm stuck with the existing name. Is there a simple way of rectifying this?

Change calendar name first in ical or mobileMe?

I've consolidated some calendars into one "new test" calendar. checked and triple checked to make sure everything i want is in that one calendar.
i want to change the name of that calendar. it's synced with the new mobileMe calendar.
do i change the name on mobileme? or in iCal? both places? and if that's so, which one first? I don't wanna screw this up and have to go thru the considerably work i did to finally get the calendar in the shape i want it in.

Yeah, me too. After lots more reading and poking I was still reluctant to change in either location. So I called MobileMe support and they said change it in either place. The techie and I agreed it might make more sense to change it in the Cloud. I did, and within minutes the calendar names had also changed (with all data intact) in both iCal and BusyCal.
I use the latter because it puts icons in events that have alarms/alerts set. Maybe i said so before, but iCal used to do that and the (useful) feature was inexplicably deleted. I say inexplicably because not even the apple gurus at the apple booth back when apple had a presence at MWSF, could explain the deletion. Several of them seemed surprised when i told them--and then had to show them!

By SAP methods, this is not possible. There is no way to do that. May you can suggest it on our Community of Innovation. See note 11.
This is not only your concern. Some customers already request this functionallity.

Run report from forms - Cannot change file name in report node

I am running a report (9i) from forms (9i) and I changed the name of the report in the filename field in the report node (in object navigator).
I noticed that I get the error FRM-41214 on the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT line when I run the form, if I've changed the filename from what it originally was. e.g. It was originally rep44.rdf and I changed it to rep55.rdf, but I get this error unless I keep the rep44.rdf filename. Why? Is there somewhere else I should change this filename?

Reminder - cannot change list name

Following this instruction will not edit the name ! what's wrong ??

On the right side of the Reminder there is what looks like an i when you move the curser there. Open the Reminder and you can change the name there by highlighting the name at the top.

Cannot change login Name in Preferences

Login Name will not update. I need my edits to a document to come up with my name, not a former collegue.

To change the author name of comments:
Open the Acrobat or Reader preferences and click the Commenting category.
Deselect Always Use Log-in Name for Author.
Create a comment.
Right-click the comment and choose Properties from the pop-up menu.
Change the Author name on the General tab to your name. Select Make Current Properties Default.
Click OK.
Please let us know if that did the trick!

Cannot change table-name in persistent.xml

I've successful deployed a Entity EJB on "SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP4 NetWeaver Developer Sneak Preview"
After changing the Table Name in persistent.xml and re-deploying the new EAR, the Entity EJB still writes to the old table.
How can I get SAP Web AS to accept the new persistent.xml/persistent-ejb-map/entity-beans/entity-bean/table-name entry ?
I've already tried:
1) Re-deploy EAR and re-boot the server
2) Delete all old copies of EAR directories and temporary files, reboot and re-deploy.
Note: Expanding new EAR confirms that persistent.xml/table-name has been updated on the SAP Web AS. However, EJB still writes to the old table.

In Web AS 6.40 the application data is stored in the database, therefore it is restored even if you delete the folders in the file system.
To undeploy the application, you can use the Deploy Service runtime in Visual Administrator. Start the Visual Administrator using the go script file in <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC00\j2ee\admin. Then expand the Services tree under the server node, and choose Deploy. On the right-hand side of the screen switch to Application view, select your application, and choose Remove.

Cannot change member name

I am using smartview 11.1.1.3 on office 2007. Every time when I change a member by typing it over, after refresh, it goes back to the original member name. I have to use member selection button to change to a new member. I also can not change data and submit the change in smartview. I am an admin for all the apps.
I have another machine with smartview 11.1.1.3 on office 2003. I can do all the above on that machine.So no security issue. Any idea?

Is it possible that you copied and pasted the member Name or Alias? SmartView may not be able to recognize a hidden character in the member name or alias.

HT3384 I am using iPad 3rd generation. In "Pages" when I choose "blank" I cannot change the name. I bought a book on Pages on IPad but the photos show "my documents" and I do not have that - I just have "documents" or a + sign on the location where it sho

My iPad 3rd generation does not let me name a document. Where the books say it should have "my documents" there is only "documents" or a + symbol, neither of them allowing my ability to name or rename. All my documents are titled "blank".

Uh - never mind. I figured it out - the "documents" section (still no "my documents, file, or save as ) has a choice of date or name and when I changed that section I was allowed to rename. Don't know why all the references and guides use "my documents" and mine doesn't but as long as it works.......

Cannot change calendar default reminder setting

When my calendar reminder pops up it gives me the option to end the reminder or snooze for a preiod of 5 mins. This is far too short so I went to Calendar, Options, General Options and under Actions set the Default Reminder to 15 min and saved the change.
When a reminder pops up the snooze time is still 5 minutes despite the change I made. Very annoying !
What can be done to set the reminder time to anything other than 5 mins ? Have I changed the wrong field, or is this a bug ???

I would try doing a clean software reload on your BlackBerry.
Be sure to back everything up as the process listed in KB11320 will delete all your user data and reinstall the applications only.
Before restoring any data, test the Calendar. Change the settings and try making a new appointment.
It's recommended to do a selective restore of your data. KB10339 will walk you through the restore process.

Cannot Change File Names

Ok so I have the Creative Zen V Plus 4 Gb Mp3 Player for a while now, and I've been able to use it, but recently I was trying to change the title on some of the tracks on it, and I can change it on the computer, but once I unplug it it hasn't changed anything. When you say you changed the file names on the computer are you doing that to the files on the device or the files that are stored on the computer? If it is the files on the computer you will need to change it by right-clicking the file & changing them thru the properties,erasing from the player & reload the changed [email protected]

Cannot change user name and password for i cloud

I have changed my apple ID and password but cannot access I Cloud. My old apple ID shows up everytime and neither my old or new password will work. I cannot even delete the account and start over. Help!

I tried to delete the account but you have to sign in with the apple id and password in order to delete it and the phone does not recognize my password so it won't let me delete the account.
