Cannot change Color mode

Hello,
I was provided a file from a customer that is RGB. I need to change it to cmyk for printing. HOwever I cannot change the color mode. All my options in the Mode section under Image are greyed out. I have never seen this happen before.. Here is a screen shot of the Mode.
The image has been flattened. I am using PS cs6 on a mac. I have never seen this happen before. Does any one have any ideas?

Strange. Could the file permissions be set to lock you out?
In the Finder, do a Get Info in the file and look at the permissions. If at the bottom, your name says "read only," then you need to change the permissions to allow you to read AND write.
To change permissions, use BatChmod, but be careful to change the permissions on that file ONLY.

Cannot change graphics mode/Old preference pane

Just received my new Macbook Pro 2.53. Loaded up just great was able to use all the features, but after transferring all of my old data via ethernet I cannot change the graphics card mode! I no longer have the option to. I have the OLD 'Energy Saver' preference pane! I do not even have the larger graphics card under the system profiler.
Any ideas?

After a lengthy call with a rep at applecare, checking this, sending that. He had me remove the battery, unplug the wall outlet and hold the power button for 7 seconds. Popped the battery back in, plugged in the AC and it's back!
It wasn't so much I had an "old energy saver" pane, but rather the new one wasn't recognizing the 2nd video card.

Display changes color mode after restart.

I recently turned off my computer for a couple days and when I restarted my iMac screen is displaying in a strange color mode. It looks like the contrast is turned up and the color depth is in 256 color mode. I've gone into the preferences and tried about eveything I can think of but nothing switches it back to normal.
When I restart, everything goes back to normal for about 3 seconds and then it switches back to this strange display settings again.
I'm stumped, any help would be appreciated.

Check the settings in Apple menu > System Preferences...> Universal Access > Seeing.

I cannot change color of vector object

I bought an image from shutterstocks... But when I change a colour, it all turns in monochrome colour. My Ai (CS6) knowledge is very limited, so I do not know what to Google "How to..."
I would say that in a moment I change colour Ai understands that I colour in borders and all lines overlaps each other... However, I do not colour borders...
Image is very complex pattern and I believe it is somehow related with image production... The image does not appear as it looks like - everything is over layered with cut-outs of object above... But it is beyond my knowledge...
I have tried to ungroup but with same results...
Could you please explain how to manipulate this image? Thank you!

Cannot change color of png image in AI

I downloaded a camera png image (http://simpleicon.com/camera.html) and am trying to change its color to red (B03B28). But the fill box is not working. It shows like the item is red but it will not change. Can the color be changed?

go back to the download site and get the .svg file--that will open in Illustrator and you can change the color--the only way to change the color with the .png file is in photoshop

Can i change color mode in keynote?

Whenever I import pictures or logos to keynote, the colors turn out really skewed as from how they should look like.
COuld someone please tell me what might be wrong and how I can fix that? I have tried several differnt options when I export files from illustrator. Strange thing is, they llok perfect in Finder and Preview.

I have just had the same issue. I am importing a logo I have created in Illustrator, which was done in RGB with specific values. The following methods all produced result that was different than the source…
-Copy/paste the logo from Illustrator with sRGB profile active in the document, and with no profile, with the same result.
-Placing the EPS directly was different again.
-Placing an AI file with embedded sRGB profile. No good either.
I also usually generate a PNG for client to use and when placing this into Keynote the colours were correct. The PNG was created in Illustrator with sRBG profile active. This worked for me, but I have seen other say it does not.
I've seen someone else claim changing the colour profile in Photoshop etc to the same one used by your screen will fix the shift, as Keynote supposedly uses the profile you have in system prefs. I tried this and it made no difference.
I assume the issue is colour profile conversion, but see no method that fixes it. Other than PNG.

Cannot change color or underline hyperlinks in iWeb

Hi,
I've seen others post regarding this same issue, but there is no way I have been able to rectify the issue. For some reason when I try to change the color with the Inspector of my iWeb hyperlinks (as well as try to underline them), the Inspector shows that I have changed the color and underlined it, and it looks like it should on the page as I'm working on it, but when I publish it the colors and underline are not there. Any suggestions? I'd really appreciate it. Thank you in advance!

I'm using Safari, I tried to find a place to change the colors on the page (using Safari) and I don't see where I would do that, but I'll keep trying.
I did try publishing to All to .Mac option but everytime I do that, I get a Publishing Error and so far I've tried deleting things to avoid that error (for example, it said that my photo albums were not publishing correctly, so I deleted them all, but now it's telling me my blog has a publishing error; this doesn't happen when I publish to .Mac, only when I publish All to .Mac. Make any sense? I'm completely confused) and the error keeps coming up. Ugh. Here's a link to my page, sorry it's boring, it's meant for the grandparents back home.

Oh, and I'm also getting those text box lines on one or two of the pages. For some reason they weren't there a few days ago b/f I started messing with this. I wish I had left it all alone now instead of trying to get the hyperlinks in blue! LOL! Oh well!

Cannot Change Color in Stage, creationComplete, on Launch

This may be a little hard to explain, but I am on Edge Animate 3.0, and I am experiencing an issue with dynamically changing the color of a div when I put the code in Stage, creationComplete.
In the sample file I have shared, I have defined two functions. One changes the color of tabs and changes the text for the active tab. The other displays the hex and rgb values of a div that is passed to it.
In both cases, when the functions are triggered with click events, they work as expected. However, at the bottom of creationComplete, I call both functions to initialize starting values on launch.
With the tab function, the text changes as expected, but the tab color does not change to make tab 1 active.
With the color function, the hex and rgb values are not displayed.
Again, when you start clicking on tabs and cubes, you will notice that it works just fine.
One note, I am using the rgbcolor.js library to get the hex value. However, it only is used in one of the functions, and I was experiencing this issue with the tabs before I add rgbcolor.js to the project.
Any thoughts you may have on what may be causing this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Portal Theme / Cannot change color of CRM iView?

i have a problem. I try to create a new Portal Theme.. The whole Portal should be grayed...
It works perfectly for the whole Portal.. But we have implemented SAP CRM 2005 in our Portal.

This seems to be a searchfield from CRM (i am not fimilar with CRM)
I changed the whole portal from BLUE to GRAY but this field is already blue... did somebody have a clue where i can change the color of this field?

Cannot change colors in Image

Hi All,
I really don't know any further in that problem, it can only be a small thing, but I don't come behind:
I'm creating a JPanel component with its own paingComponent method so that I can draw some things within that component:

          };This always produces me a line, but in black color instead of red!
I tried it also with setColor(Color.RED), and with fillRect, but it is everytime the same: Every color I set to the Image's Graphics component is interpreted as black.
Setting the color directly on the JPanel's Graphics class is working fine, but this is not that what I want.
Has anyone an idea?

the "getGraphics" method creates a new graphics object and disposes of the old one. So when you call "getGraphics" make sure to retain the Graphics object returned and use it until you're finished.
On another note, you should probably not create a new image within the paintComponent method every time, just once, like this:JPanel p = new JPanel() {

                    super.paintComponent(g);
                    if (baseIm == null)
                         baseIm = createImage(getWidth()-10,getHeight()-10);

Changing color modes = degradation?

HI,
Beginner's question: Does it "matter" if you start with a CMYK or greyscale image and put it into RGB in order to use a filter that only works in that mode, then bring it back into CMYK, etc.? Does the image degrade or other wise lose quality?
When you do go hopping back and forth, doing, say, 3 different things to an image,does it matter which order or is it cumulative?
I know RGB has a higher Gamut range, so from CMYK to RBG it must resample and vice-versa?
Image doesn't have to be perfect but I'm curious just what is happening.

Sorry for the nebulous reply but the answer to your first question is 'maybe'. Why are you going back and forth between cmyk and rgb? Usually, the best solution is to work the file in rgb and only convert it to cmyk upon output. You can also do this by embedding an rgb file as a smart object in a cmyk file.
You won't lose quality by doing this, per se, but by going from cmyk to rgb to cmyk could spell trouble if you are doing this for offset printing. The original cmyk file may have specific information for a certain press or black generation scenario. When you go to rgb and back to cmyk you are potentially destroying this black generation from the original and replacing it with something that may not print the way one wants it to.

I am editing a file for a Realestate customer of mine. For some reason her previous designer didn't understand to make print material in cmyk ( I cant believe how many "designers" dont understand the difference.). I am now going back and correcting that issue so they will print accuratly. Usually I can do this in Illustrator and just go to the edit menu and then go to edit colors and choose convert to cmyk. That option is greyed out in this situation. Does anyone no why? I am attaching a screen shot. I am using illustrator cs6 on a mac running 10.7.5.

What Jacob says but check that you Color Settings are set right for the type of printing in question. Otherwise the colours may not convert satisfactorily.

What is the problem specifiaclly?
If the images are intended for web use I would recommend converting them to sRGB which could be done with Edit > Convert to Profile or with File > Save for Web, but as including a Save step in Actions and applying them as Batch can sometimes cause problems I would go with regular converting.
You could also try Image Processor Pro.

Oracle form query mode does not change color to blue

Hi, I have created a custom form and using query mode in it. However on hitting F11, the record does not change to blue, instead it turns white. Can someone please guide me as to what I should be doing to get this right?

The fact that it doesn't change color when you "Enter Query" mode tells me your Custom Form does not conform to Oracle Application Programming Standards. I recommend you visit the Oracle Applications Documentation web site, choose your EBS version and scroll down and look at the Oracle Applications User Interface Standards for Forms-Based Products and Oracle Applications Developer's Guide to ensure your Custom Form conforms to Oracle Standard.
Also, I suggest you always use the TEMPLATE.fmb (or if you can't find this form, use the APPSTAND.fmb) as the starting point of any Custom Form. This will ensure you have the minimum required objects and code in your form.
