Cannot change CPU Voltage??(first time here)
Hi,
My first post Here.
I've been trying to check the limits on my hardware after reading a lot of OC-guides.
I have;
K8N SLI Platinum (bios 3.7)
3200+ Venice
2 Gb Corsair 2*1024 CL2
POV 7800GT
for the moment a Seagate 200 Gb EDI-disk.
Tagan 580 W PSU
When trying to get my CPU over 2,5 GHz I wanted to raise the voltage from 1.4 BUT I cant.
Maybe I am doing some newbie-error or missed something obvious??? but I can not change it. Cannot find anything here about it either(maybe I'm just lousy to search).
I cannot go to that line in BIOS, it'a just a cross in front of that row.
Please, tell me I'm diong something wrong that is very easy to fix.
Maybe someone with the same hardwaresetup can tell me how much I can expect to OC this rig? some settings
In Cell Menu you will find something like CPU VID / Over VID. The first will be set to Startup (=you CPU default volts) and the 2nd will be disabled but you can set them manually to CPU VID = 1.4 and OverVID to 3.3% / 5% etc to let the CPU use higher volts when Oc'd. Good luck !

having problem buying online.need your help since it's my first time here.apple is asking for my billing address but when i enter my address here in qatar,it's saying i should enter a valid zip code within the u.s.does it mean i can't buy online even if it wil be shipped within u.s. only?
To buy in for delivery in Qatar, you should be starting from the Apple Qatar site:
http://www.apple.com/qa/
Do you have an Apple-ID? if you do, then you should not have to enter your Address again, and may be able to sidestep the US Zip Code issue. -

First time here
One of my techs installed 2 SRW2048 switches fairly tightly to a wall, now the finance guy wants serial numbers for these units.
I'm not taking them out, so i thought i would check through the web browser and there it was Serial number but it was blank.
Is there something i am missing?same with my net admin friend who's been complaining as well
even on a different switch, it doesnt indicate any serial number. guess the only way to check it is on the switch itself. -
BIOS doesn't change CPU Voltage P55-GD65
I have a P55-GD65 with BIOS Ver 1.7
No matter what setting I put the the CPU voltage it seems to run in auto only. I have tried many combination's of settings that I have read on the forums but nothing seems to be working.
Has anybody had this problem?
Thanks,
MarkYes even when I have Intel C-STATE and Intel EIST disabled.
The voltage is much lower. I can't over clock because I cannot up the CPU voltage. I have the CPU multiplier at 21 and the clock at 155. If I go even up to 156 on the clock my system will blue screen.
When I put the voltage in Auto and monitor it and then put it in manual and crank it up to 1.45 and monitor it the voltage behaves as it is in auto. I have XMS 1600 memory and the Mugen B rev 2 cooler so I know that is not an issue. I might have a defective MB. I've been building PC's for years so I'm not a newbe. I've usually used Supermicro boards and this is my first MSI board. The board is very nice and if it worked it would be great. I was going to build another system with that board but am a little gun shy now.
Thanks for all your help.

MSI P6N SLI-FI cannot adjust cpu voltage
Ok ive tried two different bioses (2.0 and 2.12) and in both I cannot adjust the cpu voltage. It reads 0.00000V and I cannot adjust it please help.
Personally, I think people are jumping to conclusions about OCZ memory . My (MSI SLI Platinum board) system runs perfectly stable with OCZ memory. Saying that OCZ is a problem is too broad a statement - hell, OCZ sells 11 different models of DDR2-800.
The memory in question in this case happens to be the Platinum version (actually, in this thread, the memory doesn't even seem to be the issue), which must have it's voltage oc'd to 2.1v when running at the stated 4-5-4-15 DDR2-800 speed.
Anyway, cell_491, make sure that you've disabled:
C1E (might be hidden on Advanced settings -> CPU Features page... use F4 to show it)
D.O.T
EIST
ALL spread-spectrum settings
...note that these boards will reset to some defaults if you fail to POST a few times, so make sure the above are still disabled. Also, keep in mind that while the memory 'settings' are or can be 'unlinked' from the FSB, it's still using a divider internally, so you might want to clock the memory down to 667 when you're trying to determine the FSB top-end.
I've been running my E6400 at FSB 1333 (333 x 8 = 2.664 GHz) with my OCZ DDR2-667 ram oc'd to DDR2-800 4-5-5-12-24-2T 1.9v (unlinked 400mhz ram freq) perfectly stable for the past few weeks. Last night I played around with oc'ing the CPU some more and managed to get up to around FSB 1480 (370 x 8 = 2.96 GHz) running stable by adding some voltage, but I'm still running the stock Intel heat-sink and the E6400 starts getting pretty hot at that speed, so I backed it back down to 1333 (2.6GHz) which I'm now running in linked mode with my memory at 4-4-4-12-20-1T at 1.9v (I haven't started tuning the timings yet).
I need this board to make my living, so it has to be stable and I can't afford to fry anything, so until I upgrade the cooling, I don't plan to try for something over 3GHz, but if you've got good cooling, then this might help. It's for the 680i chips so the BIOS options will be different, but the 650i uses the same NB as the 680i, so there's a lot of info that should be usefull (including some max recommended safe voltages). -
Cannot access ASA5510 for first time config ASDM or PING
Hi
I have a fresh out the box asa5510 with 8.4 on it.
I have built these before but for some reason cannot get this one to work. I am consoled on, have applied the following config but can still not ping to or from, can not asdm, cannot http/s. Arp table shows device it tries to ping, but device trying to pping it has incomplete arp entry.
I am really stumped, does anyone have any idea?
Please also see attached diagram for topology.

In ACE1 the network 10.0.0.0/8 in the destination is not in the same network with 10.90.255.0/25 (MGMT interface)
Can you try these ACEs:
access-list MANAGEMENT extended permit ip 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 10.90.255.0 255.255.255.128
access-list MANAGEMENT extended permit icmp 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 10.90.255.0 255.255.255.128
access-list MANAGEMENT extended deny ip any any
I agree with Jouni, in first time use a PC directly to the MGMT interface.
and use the clear arp command to clear the ARP cache

How to change CPU voltage on a laptop?
I purchased an HP Envy Touch smart 15 for about 1000$ It is using Windows 8.1 a Intel Core i7-4700MQ processor clocked at 2.40Hz, 16.0GB RAM. I have the problem "Your primary display driver has stopped responding and has sucesfully recovered" I have searched for solutions and I have found many sources to say that the soulution was just to change the voltage from 1.00 to 1.05. This makes sense to me as I have tried changing the Timeout delay and deleting/reinstalling drivers, windows updates, switching to windows 7 even. Nothing has worked and the only solution people are getting is this. The only problem is this is a laptop and I checked the bios and found no option for this. Is there a program I can do this with? Thank you for taking the time to read this and please help! It happens often and it is making my schoolwork/homework a living heck. :/
Hi,
No, you won't be able to "overclock" this kind of laptops. One main understanding reason: Laptops will overheat very quick and their lives will be very short. Vendors don't want users send their machines back because of overheated during warranty period.
Regards.

First time here..
Hello Everyone
First time posting on this forum, have been looking through everything and man are you guys helpful!
Anyway, I am looking to finally back everything up. Currently I put all video and photos on an external lacie firewire drive, and all my itunes music is on an external ''My Book" usb drive.
I just purchased a 500gig My Book external to back up all my stuff, but after reading these forums, see that I would be better off with a firewire external HD. I also hear a lot about the SuperDuper app, but it looks like you have to have firewire to use that as well. I could only swing this 129.00 dollars for this ''My Book" but if that is useless than I will return and see what I can afford firewire - wise.
I also am hearing about ''time machine'' that is coming with Leopard.
So, I guess my questions are: Should I dump the new ''my book'' and get a Lacie Firewire? Should I purchase ''super duper'' or wait for ''time machine''? and also, what is the best way to backup in general and incremental updates?
btw...i have a lot of video, music, and photos on my mac and external hds. By lot, I mean thousands!
thanks so much for any and all advice and help.
JimHi jctez;
I think you will be ahead of the game if you can exchange the USB disk for a Firewire one. Firewire on Mac is just so much better.
If you clone the drive with SuperDuper, the next time it does an incremental and only write what has changed so it is very quickly.
As far as Time Machine goes my plan is to continue with a clone using SD for disaster recovery because I know that a clone can get me back up and running with only a reboot. I am not so sure of exactly what Time Machine will do for you if your system disk decides to melt down. Until I know that I'll use both methods. Multiple backups are a good thing like a belt and suspenders.

MSI 945GCM5 V2 how change cpu voltage
I have Dual-Core E2160 VRam CPU voltage 1.3.. its lowest? I dont know where in Bios can this be changed.. because iam on stock 1.8GHz and temp is still 70°C+ in idle. (but in bios its wrote 50°C)
The Alpine 11 is almost as weak as a boxed cooler. It is a most simple all aluminium cooler without any heatpipes that is limited to just 95W TDP max. According to Arctic it cools a i5-2500K 3°C better than the boxed one.
Measure temps under load and in idle with Core Temp and report back. -
Variables don't change at the first time
i often work with variables. sometimes i read from a varibale at the beginning of the aplication, and save from a variable at the end of the appplication.
the problem is that the values aren't right at the first time.the values only changes at the second call. It's not entirely clear what you mean when you say variables. Are you talking about global variables, local variables, or something else (i.e., controls)? If the answer is global variables or local variables then perhaps you should evaluate whether you really need these as they are often sources of race conditions. You may be better off using shift registers to pass the data.
One simple way to force an initialization state is to use a case structure set up with an initialization state when the iteration terminal is zero (i=0). This becomes sort of a quasi state machine structure and is a much better solution than a sequence structure. In some instances a FLAT sequence structure may be OK, but I would encourage you to avoid the use of sequence structures in
general as they disrupt the left to right flow of data which is the accepted practice of LabVIEW programming.
If this doesn't answer your question then if you will post an image or a copy of an example of your code (I am on LV 6.1) then I would be happy to take a look at it. -

First Time Here... iMac Dual Chip is My New Child
Hi guys.. first post even though I've had an iBook G4 for over a year.. no problems which led me to the new iMac.. Tired of shutting down windows and having devdlr files hang, loud fans, hot power adapters all over the floor, and have been having a great time unplugging it to sell on eBay.. haven't had any problems yet (knock on my head) but if I do, I know where to come.
Been using Lightroom (beta), Office X, Photoshop CS2, and all have been running real smooth.. Haven't gotten into iPhoto yet, but my wife will dig it.
Quick question...
If I set up my iPhoto library, log out, and log in as my wife, will she have the same setup or will I have to set it up twice. I have all my pics on a 250GB WD Firewire. Thanks in advance.

iMac 17" Dual Intel Mac OS X (10.4.5) 250GB WD, 512MB (Cheap)To your question, I believe you'd have to keep updating the iPhoto Library data. It would reference back to the external files (as long as you don't select copy into iphoto library), but you'd still have to keep the files in the iPhoto Library folder updated on the second account, so it would know about the new pictures and whanot.
Saw your signature said 512MB of memory. You'll notice so much speed improvement, if you add just a little bit. I bought my memory from Other World Computing, and it works great. I normally get crucial, but it was a lot cheaper.
