Cannot Change Ringer Volume, Iphone 4

I am having some issues with the ringer volume on my iphone 4.
Cannot change the ringer volume with the side buttons, when I press them the ringer volume icon apperas but with no bars underneath it and unable to change it.
I have Ringer & Alert set to Change with Buttons.
However I have seen that when I press the home button twice and swipe to the mirroring icon this phone does not have itself in the list, but has my Apple TV's and the Dock Connector. IN my other iPhone it has the iphone.
I cannot chnage it from the Dock Connector setting.
Any idea on a fix. Did a full restore and this did not help.

Here is how I got mine to work again:
I plugged in the earbuds and made sure I can hear the sound from the earbuds then I just simply unplugged the earbuds and it worked! Hope this help you!

IPhone 4S - after 6.1.1 update, cannot adjust ringer volume, and odd music playback behaviour

This is a minor issue that'll probably end up in the hands of some apple tech, but I'm curious to see if anyone else is experiencing this.
After updating my phone to 6.1.1, I noticed that occasionally I did not hear anything when playing music through earphones. An attmept to adjust the volume simply displayed the "ringer" icon and no volume meter. When I launch a new song from stopped (not paused), there was no sound or any ability to control it. I unplugged the earphones; the play icon remained, it normally disappears indicating a pause. Plugged back in and music started coming through.
Text/Ring tones are still audible; good because I use it as an alarm clock. The phone is behaving as though it were "docked" though the music playback thing is just weird. I haven't tried playing music while it is actually docked yet.
Will try a restore tonight after work.

Ok, so I found this thread in another part of the forum and thought "hey maybe I should try that". I borrowed a can of compressed air from the IT guys and fired it into my phone's dock port. A few particles of who-knows-what came flying out. I've been testing it pretty thoroughly for the past hour, so far it seems to be back to normal. How a dirt particle can short the docking circuitry into thinking it's docked, I have no idea, I'm not an electronics expert...
Anyone having the same issue, go grab a can of compressed air, blow it into your phones ports (both dock and headphone jack), or try the toothbrush thing in the above link. If you use a dock regularly, keep it clean!

Changing ringer volume on Curve

Anyone out there know how to do it -- other than "normal" (too loud) and loud (WAY loud)?

go to profiles then click on advanced, then click on "normal, active" then click on phone and you will find the volume. click on it and you can change it from low to medium or high or escalating.

My iphone 5 will not let me control my volume at all. it is turned all the way up. i try to use the buttons on the side of the phone and they dont work and when im on a call i cant change the volume.

Im having trouble with my iphone 5. For about 6 months now i cannot change my volume while on the phone or using the buttons on the side to turn the volume down. I took it to the sprint store so they could fix it and they said they have never had this problem before. Ive owned every iphone from the very beginning and never had this problem before. please help.

Have you tried going to Settings> then tapping on Sounds. and making sure that change with buttons is turned on?

I just got a 5530 xpressmusic from newegg, and I can't seem to be able to figure if the volume rocker on the side of the phone can change ringer volume, or just the speaker volume when on the phone. It seems that a volume rocker should be able to adjust the volume of the ringer, but it doesn't on my phone, I have to go to profiles to change the volume.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Is it normal to not be able to change ringer volume when you're on the main screen, simply by toggling the volume up and down toggle button on the side of the phone? Seems like a very basic feature that was on early 2000s Nokia models, but not in this one.

Yes this is normal. Ringer volume is set from the profile settings.The volume buttons control volume for various functions and applications so toggling them when you are using that application will only affect the volume setting for that function. Example, toggling during a call changes the speaker volume. Toggling them when you are in Maps changes the voice guidance volume. Never tried this but you could try toggling them as the phone is ringing to see if it changes the ringing volume.

Ringer volume with ear-bud.

It seems that my iPhone 3gs remember the music and On-call volume for headphone and speaker separately.
However, for the ringer volume, iPhone does not remembering separately and just uses same level for headphone and speaker. -_-;
When I adjust the ringer volume with ear-bud attached, volume control pop-up displayed as 'ringer(headphone)' and 'ringer' for the speaker.
But, the volume level is shared between them.
I had done 'reset all settings' from iPhone and the problem is still remain.
Do you guys have any ideas?

Have you guys been able to activate your iphone yet? I bought an iphone 4s from eBay and it worked fine, but the previous user had left some data on it, so last night I used the "erased all content and settings" to restore it to factory setting so I can start fresh and restore my backup. But now I'm stuck at the activation screen (I get the same "the activation server is temporarily unavailable") and can't get it to activate, even if I use my old deactivated AT&T sim card (I'm on straighttalk now).
I might try activating it with an active AT&T sim card from my fiancee's phone when she gets home, so I'll let you know how that works outs.
If it's true that the server is down; anyone know when it will be back up again? Thanks in advance.

I've never been aware of a function like this in the past. You could create a personal ringtone that would last 30 seconds or less and set the volume on that ringtone to do that with an audio editor, such as Audacity.

I would just follow the instructions from this article to give your unused 4s to your spouse. Since you have already started using your 5s, you will still be receiving iMessages on that phone and will have no need to receive them on a device that has been replaced. Apple does not repair devices beyond replacing the screen on some models or a battery replacement. They replace the ENTIRE device.
For the Out of Warranty replacement cost, you could have gotten a fully functional replacement device. Instead you chose to spend less to get only the screen replaced and continue to live with additional issues.
Apple will not touch the device now. They will know that it was opened elsewhere and that the replacement screen is not original.

First make sure you are searching the name correctly.
If the app is no longer in the App Store it is no longer available for download. This happens when Apple has found the app violates the agreement with the developer or when the developer no longer wants the app listed in the App Store.
If the app is truly no longer in the App Store your only option is to copy it from iTunes on the computer you normall sync with.
