Cannot change units in "Preferences" panel or "Document Setup"

PC, Windows 7, AI CC
I have a document that displays units in points, and when I change the unit type to inches in the preferences panel and the Document Setup panel, the change won't apply.
I've tried saving as a new document, restarting, etc. I even tried setting the units to other units... doesn't matter what I have the units set to in preferences, it's always displaying points.
Any thoughts?

alpinemice,
What happens if you create a new document and try to use inches in that?
If it works, what happens if you copy everything from the troublesome one into the new one (you may need to tick Paste Remembers Layers in the Layers palette first, and untick afterwards)?

  • I cannot change the Printing Preferences on PSC2175. When I click preferences nothing happens.

I cannot change the Printing Preferences on my HP PSC2175. When I click it, a window appears and then disappers instantly. It cannot print Word documents properly (using Microsoft Office 2010) or PDF documents properly. It can print text perfectly well, but diagrams, text boxes, and grids do not print at all, and other times it prints only part of it.  I am using Windows 7 32 bit.  This started after upgrading from Vista.

    Hi,
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your driver located within the Windows 7 operating system?  As you probably are aware that HP didn't create a downloadable Windows 7 drivers.  I would try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver.

  • Cannot change my printer preferences

    Dear Hp technicians:
Hi I'm from Mexico and I just loged in to my hp e-print center and it took me here. My problem is I find it really difficult to log in from my country coz' hp connected doesn't work, it simply just don't let my Log in.      I found that visiting hp connected-uk is the only way to log  in. But then,  I'm loged in, but I cannot change my printer preference coz' the button  doesn't exist, the one that used to say "Change setting"  is now just simple text.  How can I go back to e-print center instead of HP connected..... Please this is driving me crazy!
    I need your help

Hi there, if you've updated your ePrintCenter account to HP Connected you can't revert back. Check out this thread for more information on the change from ePC to HP Connected http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/ePrint-Print-Apps-Mobile-Printing-and-ePrintCenter/HP-Connected-Support...
Can you reply with a screenshot showing exactly what it is you're trying to change? Is it a setting of a printer in the Device tab or is it something in the "Settings" dropdown menu at the top right of the screen below?

  • Cannot change posting date of a parked document. See addt'l details inside

    Hello again SAP experts,
I was just wondering how come I cannot change the posting date of a parked document. The document type of the said parked document is a "BATCH INPUT" only document type.I already set in config that the posting date be changeable for parked docs.
Is it not possible to change the posting date even if the status is only parked? Our client requires that the posting date still be changeable for BATCH INPUT only doc types. Please help.
BTW, listed below is the error message that the system displays. Thanks
Document type AA only defined for batch input

    Hi Loong,
First and foremost, thanks for your time answering my queries. =)
Going back to the topic, the OB32 suggestion didn't solve the issue. I added BKPF-BUDAT in the list, and made sure that it applies to all account types. I also tagged it as changeable field.Still, the system displays the error Document type AA only defined for batch input
Is there such a rule that for doc types that are tagged as for BATCH INPUT only, you cannot change the posting date?
Our client requires that the posting date still be editable.
    Please help. Thanks a lot!

  • Cannot change and display the file in document CV02N

    Hi All,
When i create a document in CV01N transaction ,upload a word file ,
save and change the status, for some reason the uploaded word document file goes in unchecked (unlocked ) mode.
and this doesn't happen daily, its one of those situations when user does something funny.
Later when the Approver wants to approve the document in CV02N he cannot open the file because (of error "cannot be accessed") its not uploaded properly in content server and cannot change status to Reject because of error "Status can only be set when all originals are stored".
Please can anyone help me to find out what might be the problem for these kind of scenarios and how do i deal a document in a status where the the uploaded file is in unlocked status.
NOTE: Around 2500 users using the present process and i get only 2 to 5 scenarios like the above once in a while . so looking for a permanent fix for this problem.
    Thanks in Advance

  • I cannot change any safari preferences in mavericks

i attempt to change my safari preferences such as toolbar, homepage, default search engine, and other preferences, but it keeps returning to the previos settings. i cannot even reset all of the top sites in safari

Might be corrupted Safari preferences ...
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.Safari.plist file to the trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari then try changing Safari preferences.

  • Cannot change email account preferences in Mail w/ iCloud account

I'm trying to change how often my trash is emptied in Mail for my iCloud account, but I keep getting this message when trying to save a change; The “Incoming Mail Server” field cannot be empty.

Then there is a corrupt preference within the Mail application itself. I'm not sure on how to instruct you because Apple change the way preferences are stored and I haven't gotten into it completely yet. It would probably be the com.apple.mail.plist file.
Before doing anything, make sure you have a back up in case problems arise. Also, sign out of iCloud and Quit Mail before making any changes.
Preferences are stored in the Home Library folder for your user account. Quit Mail. Navigate to the Home Library folder. It's hidden in Lion. In Finder, select Go from the menu and hold the option key down. Select Library in the submenu. Navigate to the Library/Preference folder. Select any .plist file for com.apple.mail and move them to the trash. Restart Mail and see if it clears up.
If not, Quit Mail again. Go to the Home Library/ Containers folder. Move the com.apple.mail folder to the trash. Restart Mail and it should replace com.apple.mail folder in the Containers folder. See if that clears it up.
The items you move to the trash can be put back by selecting them, right click, and select put back. Of course, you need to quit Mail and sign out of iCloud as instructed earlier.
If you feel uncomfortable doing this, then wait for someone else to help. I'm getting ready to leave and won't be online until tonight or tomorrow.

  • Cannot change unit price for selected items in iProcurement

    Hi,
I have defined an item with "List Price".  Then, I create a PR in iProcurement for this item.
But I cannot update the "Unit Price" of this item as the field is protected. How can I enable the field for updating? Thanks.
(Note: If creating PR in the requisition form in Oracle Purchsing, then I can update the unit price. Why can't in iProcurement?)
    Regards

  • I cannot change settings or preferences.

When itunes opens it's only music. I can only chose album, artist, songs etc. There is no tab for settings or editing. I plug my iphone in and it syncs all my computer photos onto my phone. I want to change this.

I fixed it. I needed to push Ctrl and S to get the side menu back.

  • Changing units before making a document

While specifying pages size I want the units to be inches or millimetres according to my choice. How can I do it? I know changing units after the document is made but is there a way for a prior setting?

With no document open go to Preferences, then click on Units & Increments. You can also toggle through available units by pressing Command Option Shift U. There is not much feedback to tell you that you are changing anything, but some panels will change. The Control Panel has a field for the size of corner effects. The units there will change as you toggle through available units using that shortcut.
Here it is with Pixels selected…
And after one press of Command Option Shift U…

  • Yosemite 10.10.2 will not let me change screensaver or wallpaper.  Dialog box says it could not load preference panel

You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this, boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type:  ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.

  • Cannot change graphics mode/Old preference pane

Just received my new Macbook Pro 2.53. Loaded up just great was able to use all the features, but after transferring all of my old data via ethernet I cannot change the graphics card mode! I no longer have the option to. I have the OLD 'Energy Saver' preference pane! I do not even have the larger graphics card under the system profiler.
    Any ideas?
    Running build 10.5.5 9F2114

After a lengthy call with a rep at applecare, checking this, sending that. He had me remove the battery, unplug the wall outlet and hold the power button for 7 seconds. Popped the battery back in, plugged in the AC and it's back!
It wasn't so much I had an "old energy saver" pane, but rather the new one wasn't recognizing the 2nd video card.
