Have you tried resetting the phone? Press and hold both the sleep button and home button until the screen goes blank and then the Apple logo reappears. It can take a little while so be patient.

With the iPod still plugged into an external power source, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. This may take 1 or 2 tries.

Can anyone help? I cannot activate my iphone4 after an ios7 update. I have carried out a recovery-mode restore but when the phone is switched back on I enter the UserID and Password that are verified via itunes and icloud but no joy. It tells me the used ID and password are not correct. This is is second hand phone that I have hand for a year. Apple says that I have to contact the previous owner to get their User Name and Password. This is impossible.They might have even passed away. I can believe Apple would do such a crazy software release. There must be thousands of people in my shoes.

This is the new Activation Lock feature that users have been wanting for years to prevent stolen phones from being restored and used by the thief.
If you cannot get the password to the previous user's AppleID then the phone will be useless to you.

A lot of computers (especially older ones) generally do not provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad.
And for info using all capitals is considered to be SHOUTING

Ok so call me picky, OCD, whatever. I'm very "overprotective" when it comes to my very expensive iPhone 5.
Anyway, when I charge my phone it charges pretty regularly except for when it hits 99%, it stops. After a little while at 99% it seems to be fully charged, but it still shows 99%. However, when I unplug my phone, switch off battery percentage, turn the phone off, turn it back on, switch on battery percentage again, it shows 100%. Weird, right? Well, if anyone can help me somehow or give me any advice with this annoying little glitch I'd be very happy. Thanks!

Solved my own problem! I feel like a total idiot... it turns out that my phone just takes a while to go from 99% to 100%. No need to reply to this question, LOL. I'm so OCD.

Iphone 5s shows charging, but battery is decreasing

last week I did the new iOS 8.02 update and my phone hasn't been working right since. yesterday i did the update that was supposed to fix the minor bugs. Since then, my phone will not charge. I am using the factory charger and it shows that its charging, but the battery is dying. I have 1% left and don't have an appointment for the apple store until thurday. any tips would help !!!

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the scope of the issue you are describing. If you are having issues with retaining or recharging the battery in your iPhone after a recent update to iOS 8.0.2, you may want to first try resetting your device:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If you are still having issues after a reset, you may want to make sure you have a current backup of your data in iTunes, then try restoring your iPhone to factory settings and testing it in that default condition to see if the issues persists before restoring your data. I've just got my mams old iPhone 4 and had my dim card swapped from a normal sim to a micro sim, the sim is now in my phone but when I plug it into my computer it makes the sound as if its connected and it charges but it won't show up in iTunes?

My iPod touch 3rd generation won't play on my iPod dock when the alarm I set goes off. It plays normally and charges, but it won't work with the alarm. Could it be the iPod dock or my iPod?

My iPod touch just recently started doing this: I plug it in to my Sony iPod dock/alarm clock/radio. It charges fine and plays music fine, but when I set the alarm for it to go off, it doesn't go off. I can see that the dock is indicating that the alarm is going off, but the iPod isn't playing music. Could it be my iPod or the dock?
Also, there were 2 times when I plugged in my iPod to charge (once with a wall charger and once with the dock) and it said that it was fully charged. But it wasn't fully charged. I bought one of those iPod wall chargers from Target. It's not an Apple charger, but it is for iPods. Could it be that?
I'm going to try to reset my iPod and see if that helps any.

I have contacted apple support and Bose support. When I have heard back will post for everyone. I do encourage everyone to contact both companies until we get an answer to hopefully solve this issue. The more people who contact them about the issue, maybe the better chance they will help fix the issue.

Battery Icon Shows "18% available (plugged in, charging)" But Battery Does Not Charge

The PC does operate on the battery only, just fine (so far, as there is only 18% remaining).
The PC operates with AC plugged in also.
LED by AC input is amber (looks orange to me).
According to the User Guide that indicates charging.
Battery Check status is "OK"
I have had it on charge for over 12 hours and still at 18%.
When starting up, the battery icon shows charging movement then stops at a low level.
I measured the charger output at 20VDC (no load). Which is as specified.
I have tried all the suggestions about uninstalling and reinstalling the ACPI Complient Control Method.......etc.
Removing battery, shutting down and all the rest of suggestions.
No help.
I was told there was a BIOS update which I installed. (I'll post about that in another board). No help.
If I ever get this fixed it's going back to the vendor, Should not have this happen with less than 3 months since new.
Just got it back from repair for battery latch falling off. (Back plate was changed.)
Anything new would be appreciated.

If you check the adapter do you notice any damaged or bent pins as this can cause charging issues?

G62-229WM - Battery charges but computer won't start/run on AC power.

I've got an HP G62-229WM, running Win7 Ultimate 64 bit, that will only run on battery power.   With a full, or even partially, charged battery and the AC adapter not plugged in, the computer starts and runs just fine. The little power icon down in the screens taskbar area shows the normal battery only icon and indicates the correct % of charge.
When I plug in the AC adapter (original HP 18.5V 65 watt adapter that came with the unit) the AC adapter light LED (located next to the AC adapter plug-in port) turns white momentarily and then turns amber, which indicates that the battery is charging.   This is supposedly normal.
When the battery reaches 100% charge, the indicator light turns white again, and remains a steady white, which means that the computer is connected to external power, but the power icon in the taskbar area still shows just the battery only icon and not the battery/plug icon. The operating system does not recognize that the computer is connected to external power and thinks that it is running on battery power only.
If I shut down, remove the battery and plug in only the AC adapter and press the power button, nothing happens.   No lights, no fan, no disk spinning, nothing.   The AC adapter seems to charge the battery just fine (and the computer runs fine on the charged battery) but the adapter will not start or run the computer by itself.
I first noticed this problem a couple of days ago when I was on the System Properties page and it said that the "Windows Experience Index" was 6.1 but that the rating needed to be re-assessed.   When I tried to rerun the assessment, it stated that the assessment could not be run on battery power only and that I needed to connect to external power.  Of course, the computer was plugged into AC power at the time which first alerted me to this problem.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I see that a full charge results in only 51% of the battery capacity. Your battery is going south. It would be great if you happen to know someone with an HP power adapter like yours to plug in to your noetbook. The AC adapter output is within 10% of 18.5 volts so it is OK. I suspect a charging and power management control chip failure on the system board is causing the issue.

DV4 Battery Issue - Battery Charges; But Laptop Won't Run From Battery Power

I have a DV4, and let me tell you - I am so over this laptop. I have had it for over a year, and in that time, the backlight went out 6 months into owning it, the battery died just after the one year mark, and the webcam has been broken since I sent this computer back to HP to have the backlight issue resolved. I will never buy a new HP ever again.
Now, the battery I have replaced in my laptop charges - but, when I unplug the laptop from the wall, the battery power does NOT switch over. I have had this battery a total of two weeks - it was working fine until last night. Any ideas?

Hi, SoCal Cal. Take a good hard look at your battery contacts: both the ones on the battery itself and the "prongs" in the PB case that engage with the slotlike contacts on the battery. Are any of them significantly darkened/tarnished? Is there any debris or fluff on or in them? Clean out any foreign matter, then insert and remove the battery at least a dozen times in succession to see whether doing so will wear away any tarnish that may be impairing the necessary electrical connections. There's not really any easy, better way to clean the contacts, at least not the ones in the slots on the batttery itself. Then test again.
It sounds to me as though not all of the battery contacts are making good contact — though some of them obviously are, at least some of the time. Perhaps "working" the contacts this way will improve matters.
I really don't know what's going on with your machine; these are just shots in the dark.
